BR3 review | | Cyber goth from England, plymouth, earth says (3/Jul/2003): | A BATTLE OF THE BEATS!
Bloody roar tree is a gr8 game, but i think Hudson went over the top with the grathics cos Baky looks a bit like a girl. But never mind, the pritice mode is the best, u can have 2 player fihgts on it, without any of you dieing! Its gr8. And the story line, yet again, is amazing. Vs mode is ok, and there are new pll you can play. I reconmend this game to antone who liked the other BR games or anyone who likes fighting/animal/monster games.
| Excellent, where is part 4 !!!! | | Eriynn from NBI, Kenya says (25/Apr/2003): | i could harldy waite to get my hands on Bloody Roar 3!!! i think its an excenlent game, great graphics, great characters as well. ok they should have more characters and more moves, but then again, they could be making all that and maybe more in. waite for it. Bloody Roar 4.! yes. ! ok so im a die hard fan of Bloody Roar. ever since i got the first one i was hooked, hook, line and sinker. so i hope there is a 4rth one in the making, and i hope they put each and every character into it. Kudos to the software company for mad dope graphics in the 3rd series. and making the characters more realistic. i thin kthey could improve on the graphics, but im not complaining about it. even the first one, i think, is still great, its a classic. its where it all began with animorphe fighting characters. bloddy roar, to me is a trade mark. and ill, stick up for it any time, any place. yeah they could do everything at once, but that spoils everything for a die hard fan like me. i think they did a great job breaking it into parts, altering characters, graphics and all. now, we, I , just have to waite and see if they bring the 4rth and maybe final, who knows, part, as for unlockable characters yeah its a bit of a bum wrap, but hey. it just gets better. i think its great that they make it hard. games like these should begin on normal level then continue with the harder levels, easy is just too easy. i love it when its complicated and the level is above challenging. thats the whole point of the game. mastering it over time.
| Different, but lacks the quality of other fighters | | John Cavanagh from Liverpool : Great Britain says (5/May/2002): | Bloody Roar has always been one of the more fascinating brawlers, enabaling your chosen character to transform into a ferocious beast with the press of a single button. Bloody Roar 3 has some truly brilliant characters such as Jenny the Bat, and the unlockable Uranus the Chimera. These character models are nicely detailed, but the same cannot be said for the rest of the graphics, which are simplistic at best. It's not as though Bloody Roar 3 doesn't try, because it does, it's just that everything in this game other than the ability to transform into beast has been seen, and often been done much better in other games. The interactive arenas for example were much better executed in Dead Or Alive 2. The other main Playstation 2 fighting game, Tekken Tag Tournament, also manages to supass Bloody Roar 3 in many areas. Bloody Roar 3 suffers from a lack of characters, and a lack of genuinely exciting moves, where as Tekken Tag features a character roster of over 30, and loads of spectacular and exciting moves for each character. Bloody Roar 3 also suffers when it comes to replayability, featuring only two unlockable characters, one of which is virtually identical to a character you already have, and a handfull of silly extra fighting modes, such as the ability to fight in slow motion.
Whist I may have given Bloody Roar 3 a slating, it can be a nice little game, particularly in two player mode. However, there are already much better fighting games available on the PS2, and with the arrival of Virtua Fighter 4, Soul Calibur 2, and Tekken 4 immiment, Bloody Roars days are severely numbered.
| It's a beat em up with a difference | | Miles Bentley from Salisbury, England says (21/Dec/2001): | Because I've played the second game, Iknew what to expect from this title. Great graphics, fast and exciting gameplay and a load of great characters. From what I've played of it so far this game doesn't dissapoint. The only let down is the number of characters. It would be better if the characters from the first game were included in this title because I really like the ape.
Overall You should get this amazing game if you are bored with games like Tekken and Dead or Alive.
I give
Graphics 9
Gameplay 9
Sound 8
1P lifespan 8
2P lifespan 9
| The best fighting game ever returns | | cody from ohio, usa says (19/Dec/2001): | It is very dissapointing. When you beat the game with a charecter is dosent have an ending like the last two games and like Tekken Tag and Dead or Alive 2.One of the only reasons i like it is because you can fight as humans who turn into monsters. But no special combos, just thumb blistering. The computers A.I. is terrible they seem like idiots and the sound is terrible.
