Great game! Very challenging too!6244

evbinks from USA says (9/Mar/2002):
Kengo is a fighting game done in a very interesting way.

You train with a wooden sword. The more you train, the more powerful your character can become. In training you will unlock special moves and steels swords.

The steel swords are used in the tournaments. In a tournament you will become more powerful with every fight. When you reach later tournaments the enemy AI is very impressive. It is almost too impressive as you are likely to find yourself totaly out-classed in every way. When this happens you will have to train more.

The game's controls are pretty good. The only problem I have is that you will often loose because you character is facing the wrong direction due to the games totaly 3D environments. Why the game doesn't atomaticaly have your character face your opponent, I have no idea. Oh well.

The graphics are beautifuly done. Great lighting, very realistic character movements and wonderful arenas.

The sound is also well done. You can hear birds cherping away, the swords clang, and the characters have fitting Japanese voices.

Starts slow but gets Better.5780

Kraze805 from California, USA says (16/Feb/2002):
The game starts off a little slow but once you get into it, it gets better. The more training and experience you have the better you become and by defeating dojos you eventually get better/different swords that have different specials. If your good enough you can make it to the big Imperial Match. By fighting students or masters you can learn more moves which can be combined to make your own combos. The only bad thing ive noticed was this noise in the backround, its sounds like a crying baby and just that can get extremely annoying. Overall I thought it was pretty cool.
