A great transition point in the series. |
| Aaron from Morganton NC USA says (9/Aug/2003): |
I think that Ac1 was great. Phantasma was even better granted it had a ridiculously hard final mission that I was thanking the gaming gods for making the large missile for but hey nothing's perfect... Anyway I played 2 enjoyed it... Beat it... Then I thought about hunting for those hidden parts like the Karasawa... Grrrrrrrrr nuff said there. Never thought I'd use the overboost till then... Anyway Ac2's graphics were great at the time... The controls were very fluid and the weapons couldn't be better... Okay maybe if they had the WA Finger from Phantasma it would be better but again.. Perfect no. Werehound is your first decent hard fight... Until of course you equip the arms he loves on a super fast core and let loose... heh he he The story was great for an AC game... Mathias, what a ridiculous fight. *Shudders cause I still have not beaten him.* I beat all the other Ac's that I have played inside out but this one.... All because of Mathias. Great game none the less... It still has me coming back for more and I have Ac3 and soon getting Silent Line.

amazing , just amazing! |
| ryan adkins from derbyshire ,england says (1/Jun/2003): |
ac2 is one of the best games of all time. so much customisation so little time. the 9 breaker is two easy and mathias is to hard! i liked all the challenges and robot building but where did the analog go! i think all ac games lack story and killing airbourne enemies is to hard . apart from that it is the best game one the face of the earth . thank you from software! the acs look great and so does the surroundings (apart from the cardboard trees!) the game lasts a month or two (or im really bad at gaming!) the sound of the karasawa is heavenly and all the guns are fab . the music is a little let down (constant boom boom booms )and 58 arena opponets ! in the end not much needs to be improved, just less speedy planes . warning:do not rent it . you most posibly will rent it 1000 times . BUY IT!

This Game Rocks !!!! |
| Quizical_Light from New Bedford, Mass USA says (1/Jun/2003): |
Hats off to agetech and software for this one. i bought this game a week and a half ago, and since then when i am not working i am blowin stuff up. The arena section of the game is slow moving at first (very easy at first too) but gets much better the higher in rank you get. The missions took a couple of tries each but soon they too were mastered. The graphics are well ... OH MY GOD! GREAT! (some 2-d scenery) Great selections of weapons for mass metal shredding. And hidden AC parts galore!
All in all i cant stop playin it even after i beat it. I bought this game used and wasnt holdin my breath. I should have bought it new and never looked back.

i think its a cool game |
| vego (The Widowmaker) from Lubbock Texas USA says (25/Mar/2003): |
I love this game. At fist i had a blast when i too 2 multiple back missle launchers and the extremely rapid fire machine gun. AThere is nothing like sticking a machine gun in your enemy's face a pulling the trigger and then whatever is left you fill it full of missles. When that stoped working I upgraded to a gernade launcher (WUHAHAHAHA) and it was easy going from there. This game i thought was real easy to play. The only trouble i have had was beating the main guy in the areana on hard mode but thats about it.

Could have been better |
| Chase Ha,,er from Franklin,Tennessee, USA says (24/Mar/2003): |
ok I played Armored Core 1 it was cool (as cool as a PSX game gets). So I was all AWESOME AC2. It was very disappointing. The almost impossible missions give to you at first were repetitive. The game seems almost like if you gotten too much money they it MADE you lose no matter what you did or what weapons you had. I truthfully got mad at it. I hope AC3 is much MUCH better.

i want my 5.75 back |
| Galahad from ca says (14/Feb/2003): |
listen agetec... armored core 1 for ps1 was great... controls were responsive missions were fun weapons were cool. so i figured armored core 2 would be on a higher level but i am discouraged because this is not true. the truth is that the game it sucks horribly and i want my 5.75 back.

Verry fun and exiting, but it could of been a littel easer. |
| Ben Winn from USA says (31/Jan/2003): |
This game is one of the best mech games I have played. It is fun and exiting. The only downside to this great game is that you can only weigh so much, it stinks. If you could have overweight mechs I would have given this game a perfect score! What sucks is that I have the money to make the best mech of all time, and because I cant have over weight mechs I can not beat Ware Hound! If you know how to beat Ware Hound PLEASE give me an E-Mail at:benwwinn< remove me > at yahoo.com

Armored Core 2 leaves a little to be desired. |
| Andrew from New Jersey,USA says (30/Dec/2002): |
All-in-all,I think this game rules a**.But, the handling is a little slow, and I just can't figure out how to get passed these couple levels. Oh well. Can't be whining about my own inabilities. But I like the game very much. It has a 1-up on the previous version, Armored Core. But, the handling needs work. I should be able to turn on a dime without the boosters, but it takes FOREVER. And the weapons are alright, but they're a little expensive and slow, except the machine and chain guns, but they're fairly weak. Other than that, the game, the graphics, the sound, everything kicks. But like I said, I can't beat the two levels, so... If anyone has any tips on the missions 'Destroy The Surface Weapon' or 'Attack The Research Team', please let me know. Could be better |
| A gamer from Somewhere, Florida says (15/Oct/2002): |
I have no idea what Agetec has against analog sticks, but it's because of this that the controls feel really clunkly. Also, I'm not too keen about every other mission being one of those "Destroy All Enemies Missions". Once, I get past that the game is fun to play and the arena is a blast (even if Ares is a wuss). The best thing about it though is making your own AC of destruction, who wouldn't want to make there own AC? But the clunky controls take a lot out of that. So until you get used to the controls, the game will seem kind of monotonous. But then it gets interesting.

Realistic has its downs! |
| Errol Docena from NO Hollywood, CA, USA says (18/Mar/2002): |
The game AC2 on PS2 is an improvement beyond anyone's comprehension, but even though it has its new parts, new weapons, cool graphics, and more missions. The realistic mobile movement makes the movement slower! So what if it has tournament mode, AC: Masters of Arena had it! I'm not complaining about the controls, the controls are perfect! Other people say the controls kill you in battle, but get use to it! The thing that kills you in AC2 is the realistic movements, I use to (somewhat) be a master AC pilot in all the ACs because I could read all the movements in high-speed action, but now in AC2, I could read the movements, but its not fun just seeing me dodge a slow missle or slow movements. The cool optional parts make me keep the rating up on 5. Plainly, if you were to record the battles (which I love to record games), it would be SO boring! Just seeing two ACs moving in slow movement is boring! The ACs should move in lightning fast speed! You know, anime style. So fast, you would have to use something that slows it down to see that one small inch of moon-light laser gently touching that AC metal. It makes it look cooler! Slow motion should be left for dramatic moments! All the parts in an AC battle isn't dramatic! The slow movement just kills the wait for a boring battle to end! Everything else is perfect, this is the reason why I liked all the other AC games! I liked the games for its cool battle scenes, having to judge who wins by fast hand and eye coordination! This the true test for an AC master! Fast paced battles are the foundations of a gamer. Fast hand-eye coordination is the rules for judging the better gamer!

Maybe the best game in Mechanical history. But it's one of em. |
| ...Ask Me... from Mineesota,USA says (5/Mar/2002): |
Ok. This game was one of the best I've played.I abosolutely LOVE the arena. I would LOVE it more if you could every time you win,you win a part from that AC. The missions are killer. Literally. I practiclly spend my day trying to beat em all. Try getting all the parts to get THE ultimate bot. Too bad you can only save 3 of em. Kinda reminds you of Pox cept this was made before. The graphics are great. You can see everything. The only flaw is that when u turn corners u can see thru the building. O well. The fun factor would be 5 out of 5. The sound rox everything and its awesome to listen to and gets you pumped for whats coming up next. The gameplay is really cool and the money you spend on it is worth it. All the arenas are packed with hiding spots so look around. That tip adds up with all the gameplay and fun factor. The thing that ties it all tohether is the 2-player mode. Beat your rivals in this one-on-one gameplay!Well, that's all I have to say. C yalls!

Nicely done |
| Game master from West Islip,new york,USA says (16/Dec/2001): |
This was a most interesting game to play. It could have used a little work such as being able to blow the parts of an enemy off and being able to blow up more of the environment. Otherwise this game had good graphics, a high replay value, and an extensive line of weapons and parts to put on your AC. I had a great time playing this game and I still do. There is so much to choose from. The arena option was alot of fun an even if u compleated it you could still challege all the other ac's over again. A must buy if you like this style of game.Nicely Done
