this game the first day i played i wasnt interested at all i didnt even know the controls then about 3days later i was hooked.i was standing up 2inche from the screen licking my lip running from the cops.to sum it up th game will make you play it and play it and play it until you played for the millionth time.you beat it,you wanna play more.you beat it again,more playing. it seems the more you beat it the more you play because of the many different things you can do,first time maybe you beat it with an oozzi in hand. next time you beat it you have a rocket launcher a couple molitoff $#< remove me > at !tails and your gang right next to you.i'd say my favorite part of the game is when you get diaz's mansion with the helicopter on top.this game is possibly one of the greatest games made in the past decade!

Wow! This game is great! It's almost like you're walking around the city! almost everything has it's action! Buses, you go up small steps, people from china town talk chinese w/ english, move boxes, jump on cars, and etc! But i have one question! Could someone help me? the information booklet that came with the game says i can ride the train and the planes. But when i reach the subway station in Portland, it says it'll open later to transfer me to an island. I waited a whole day there and it didnt open! What do i do?! I'm up to Toni's meeting mission, did all of the dog bitchin food mission (the wife, staff, and bank murder mission), did all of Luigi's missions, and up to Joey's getaway mission. Thatz all the missions i did up to though, if that'll help me gain access to ride the subway.

Gta Was the best game I ever Played! The Only down fall is the music. It Was the worst music I ever heared. The Channel chater box is crap! It does the same people over and over then it gets boring very fast. Since the others are crap I just leave it off. The sound effects for the guns where great. I really liked the cars. There were very cool! My favorit car is the bansee. That car was great but it looses control in the rain. I really liked the rocket lancher in the game. It is great for alot of missions. If you wanted to go on a spree the rocket lancher is the best job. It Can take out a thousand helcopters ( if you have enough amo). The game is unreall but it is the greatest. You can get away with Anything. If you are deciding To get the game get it right away.

This is the best game, because the game has incredible game play and extraordinary graphics. The characters are very cool. And the gangs are very crazy. Gta 1,2 were good, but when gta 3 for ps2 came out it was awesome I still today have not even touched my other games, i am hooked on this incredible game. The cars are sweet, and the weapons are very cool. Now i just can’t wait to see gta vice city, gta 3 is the best game out there a sure must buy indeed. gta 3 is the top game of all time and always will be. i cant wait to see the futures games of gta. I mean I didn’t think a game could be better than driver once i played it but I was wrong. gta 3 lets you run around and you can do anything, and the missions are fun. I hope gta vice city is just as good as gta 3, I bet it will be.

I bought GTA3 after I heard how awesome it was from just about everybody I spoke with. It may not be the best driving game, but it doesn't need to be. It may not be the best crime game, but you'll be hard pressed to find a better one. This game has everything from street punks, to hookers, to racing, to car bombs. Once you beat it, you'll just pop it in again because it's that much fun. The are a few things I didn't like. The cars are easily damaged, the other drivers are complete idiots, and some of the missions are difficult. The most difficult missions to me were the timed missions. It almost seemed like you got 3 minutes to do a 5 minute mission, but those are few and once you beat them, you never see them again. Overall, this is one of the best games I've played for the PS2.

This game is the worst game that I have ever played. The missions are way too easy. The graphics are horrible, and the replay value is ZERO. After you play this game for more than 1 hour, there is no point of ever playing it again. After you beat the game, 100%, there is nothing to do. You could just walk around killing people, but that gets boring after about 20 minutes. Rockstar is one of the best video game companies around today, and it still makes a sh*tty game like this. If you want to play a good game, go play GTA2. It is more fun, more challenging, better controls, better cars, more missions, and bigger cities. Don't waste your money on this game. Rent it before you go out and buy it. I garantee that after you beat this game, you will probably never play it again.

I just wanted to say to all those playstation people out there that if they have nothing to do all week like me, they need to get grand theft auto 3 for PS2, I have been here at my boyfriends for 3 days and I have been at this game none stop.
I really never played video games for longer then 1-2hrs. With this game I have been at it for 3 hole days that is how good it is. So take some time off and rent/buy GTA 3. Just wanted to shout out some people while I am on this site
Big up my boyfriend Kevin Chow for renting this game for me, Big up Ivan Evidente for introducing the game along with Arlene for getting me hooked.

GTA3 This game is so awesome my license plate is GTA3. Yup! Its just that good. Three cities with so much to do. Gta3 is a vacuum for weekends when you first get the game. Trying to beat all the missions is a task on its own. Cheat if you may....but might i suggest only using the cop cheat and the weapon cheat....all others can wait till you atleast beat the game once. I play this game alot at night to release frustration. There is nothing I like more than causing mayhem in the cities. The game has great graphics, game content, and longvity. This game should not be found on Ebay.com. If you are selling it on there you are a fool and will regret it later. GTA3 is one game you keep for life. Rent it if you dont beleive me..... I guarentee you will be an owner.

GTA3 is a major improvement on Versions 1 and 2 as it includes first person views and ground level views as well as the standard overhead view.
You can choose to do the Missions or instead you can just take your chances and attack the poor innocent civilians and the police officers who try and arrest you.
There is so much to this game : You can drive a car through the three islands, you can hijack an ambulance,police car or fire engine and get involved in a bit of role playing !
All in all, this game works on so many levels.I purchased the game in February 2002 and literally didn't complete it until July 2002.I am still playing it and finding out the cheats available.
I cant wait for the arrival of GTA : Vice City in a few months time either !

I gave this 8 stars. Why? Because 9 and 10 indicate perfection, and while this game was beautifully done, it isn't perfect. But it's damn close, that's for sure... The graphincs, damage effects, sound, weapons, etc. of this game are incredible, and the gameplay is great as well. The storyline is fairly good, though I kind of shun it simply because I'm more of the type of person who goes on rampages, hitting cars and hapless pedestrians to see how many stars I can get without getting wasted or busted. For my style of play, I say screw the fast cars and give me a military flatbead truck. Or a tour bus... ;-) It's quite amusing watching as your tour bus smashes through blockade after blockade without changing course or even slowing that much...

Those vehicles are so cool you can expecially drive and just hit everything in your way with a super cool and tank and get yourself in 4 star! and if the helicopter comes you use the rocket launcher and blast it off! this exciting new game ought to be the best ever! Its awesome missions reveals its actual bloody criminaland also the graphics are 3D and are much nicer than gta 2 and 1 (of couse)with all the graphics. you can find yourself just dying and playing again and again. you totally get so absorbed in the game you forget about everything else and finish most the missions and play all day skipping all your lessons! now folks! this game is so good with awesome missions vehicles graphics can be named one of the best games i ever saw!

The game is the best combination of skills that exists. You can drive/race, perform mind blowing stunts in a car, kill people (with fist, gun, car, etc.), have sex and the list continues. The graphic quality lacks a bit but it was one of the 1st games on PS2. The sound quality is just as good as any. It has incomparable game play. It can be played through many times and the end result can still vary. Very original, there are some imitations but they just don't compare. The difficulty level is enough to keep you interested but not so hard that it is frustrating to play. Excluding the last mission. I have been playing it for 2 weeks now and cannot succeed. Please e-mail me if you have any strategies on beating the last mission.

This game is the best! I get hooked in playing the game within 1 min. There are so many different choices to choose from from cars, to guns, and to missions. You don't even have to play the missions. You can just shoot people and run away from the cops for an hour and that is fun, too. I don't recommend this game to people who don't like violence or blood, but I'm a girl (14)and I love the violence and blood! The game is so detailed and clear that iti's just like watching a movie that you control! My dad even doesn't like usual video games like Game Boy Advance and Nintendo 64, but for Grand Theft Auto 3 on Playstation 2, boy man he loves watching my brother and me play! Thank you to whoever made up this game! -Suzy-

Well, lets just say this game rocks its like italian job,great train robbery, and some movie with boats and planes and rocket launchers in it and stuff woah it blew my mind. Got Virtua fighter 4 around same time (months ago) and have been on it twice. You better of completed all your other games before playing this one cos you wont want to play anything else for a long long time. btw: this game has more secret stuff than any other game i played in my lifespan. I think ill stop killing feds and piloting planed and driving cars boats and watching the bllodthristy gore that gta3 has to offer when Tomb Raider 4500 is out which starrs Lara "Wheelchair" Croft w/drip food. If you dont have this dont pay the bills this month buy it!

This game is definitely one to add to your collection. Make sure you have some spare time on your hands before loading this one up cos it takes some putting down once you start. The attention to detail is fantastic, for instance, walking past a victim that is bleeding means you have blooded footprints for the first several steps away from the body. Fans of Driver/Driver 2 will love it, anyone that likes driving games will love it. Anyone that enjoys films like The Godfather will love it. The missions are varied enough to keep you striving to get to the next. The sub missions are games in themselves. Basically, one of the most enjoyable games I have played since I started gaming on the Spectrum all those years ago.

This game is, to quote Snoop Dogg, "Off the Heezy for Sheezy". It is insanley long if you just do all of the missions, but there is so much more to it then just that (Finding all 100 hidden packages takes awhile, not to mention doing all of the unique jumps). I will find myself attempting a mission but failing because some imbecile sideswiped the car that I had to take to the garage, causing it to flip over and burst into flames. If this happened in another game you would have to take your anger out on your poor, defensless couch. With GTA3, you can pull that < remove me > at #$%&*! out of his car, take his car, then repeatedly run him over with it. Talk about stress relief. Bottom line, Buy this game if you have not already.

The reason i like this game is because it is N.H.B. (no holds barred). You can kill cops,inocent people,and all the stinkin' gang members you want!!!! This is the only place you can blow up things without getting a real criminal record. the graphics are tight,the weapons are histarical,and the missions are the bomb baby!!! you can literaly take over the city and have all these pezents look up to you (and of course you the main man). the only thing i didnt like about the game is, when the gang members come after you when you just wanna take a drive. But other than that its all gravy baby!!! its deffinatly worth the amount of money you pay for it. thats it and !!!WARNING:THIS GAME IS HIGHLY ADDICTIVE!!!

This game rocks people say that they get sick of it because there are so many missions. I think because it has a lot of missions it makes it a good game. It's better when a game is challenging. I also think a lot of missions are good because they make the game exciting. It's exciting to see what kind of a mission you will have next. If you just went around killing people and did nothing else after a while you would get bored. The game does have a lot of violence to it but that's what the people like. If theres no other way to entertain them other than killing cops,doing violent whack jobs for the mafia, having sex with prostitutes, and killing prostitutes then just keep the violence going.

This game rules. I was never really a big GTA fan but after I played this game I can't wait for the next. It may be a kind of dark game but it is still fun. It is cool just walking around and killing whoever you want. You can steal any car. It has a huge enviroment. The graphics will amaze you. You can choose from a large selection of weaponry. The swear words and inappropriate language gets out of hand though. The cars and realism of them are incredible. The missions kick and there are lots of them. There are even pretty good codes for this game. The character you play as is cool and cool looking. The gameplay gets boring during the really hard missions. I absolutely love this game.
