I don't have much to compare to considering ive only played harvest moon 64. This is better for raising livestock because you need to earn everything. In 64 impregnating a cow with gold milk makes the baby have large when it first produces, which is a little easy, also you have to keep it out to continue to get gold (for chicken also) I also like how the dog does tricks, have him heel, jump on your horse and he follows you all around the town. The biggest problem is no marrage, I loved that from harvest moon karen rocked. now i can't mary gwen OR katie the others don't matter. I can't wait until the new one and im gonna get some for playstation soon. so i give it a 8.

I dont now if you are with me but this game inst good first of all the graphics stinks and you could even get married and change your tools to golden ones as others games and you cannot have a better fishingrod and they are just two expansions they better change it.

This Harvest Moon Is Borring After a while because you do the same things over and over. You can't do half the stuff you can do on Harvest Moon Back To Nature. This game needs more chllenge |

This Harvest Moon is OK. But whats wrong with it is that you do the same thing over each day. On Harvest Moon Back To Nature you can get married, get more cooking tools, have fishes, have more different animals, and have festivals. This Harvest Moon Does not have any of these things. This game can get borring after a while, and the most thing I don't like about this game is that you can't get married, or have kids. This game is to easy it needs more challenge.

I have played all of the harvest moon games so far. I can't seem to get used to playing "Back to Nature" once I have started "Save the Homeland" due to the fact that the graphics in the second are much better and the first one seems a lot slower. But, that's my opinion. I simply can not wait for the new Harvest Moon game to come out! Have any of you heard about it? It is called Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life. It's coming out Sept. 2003 and is the ultimate Harvest Moon game! You have a 30 year life span, more plants, including hybrids, marriage, more animals, over 40 characters and the coolest part is actually raising your children. I have read that you can actually raise your children to help on the farm.

I love harvest moon save the homeland its so fun. i like how you can pick your horse and how you can love him i love horses. i love how you can get cows and chickens and stuff. i love animals. i hate it that you cant get married and have kids thouw. but then agoin you can get diffenet kinds of cows and ride your horse out of your fram.
You can also fish and get hats and boots. i ever cout a fish before but that makes it more realistic.its also fun that you can pick your dog too. i all wase get the one with the ears skicing up.its also fun to train you dog and horse.

i really like the new harvestmoon..and ive never played the back to the nature one..so i cant choose which one i like best..the graphics were very good, and how the dog barks and actually coming fast to your whistle was impressing.You could put your horse inside of the barn and you didnt have to spend $$ on grass seeds.You could also see your dog go into its house,same with people.Your dog can actually do tricks and it was fun how you can try to catch the diferent dogs.Its more realistic how you can go around to shops selling stuff instead of putting it into a little box!You can ride your horse out of your farm,and its a lot faster too!Its hard to make up recipes, but fun to see what comes out of it.BUT tell me the truth..everyone likes to get married and you get all excited about having a baby. You cant get a girl to like you a little more than a friend..but no action thing or blue feather to get engaged.Its nearly impossible to catch fish! I tried catching fish..but all i ended up getting was wasted time or an old boot or hat!
But all in all..this was an ok and challenging game!

I haven't played any previous HM games, so I don't have a lot to complain about.
I love the graphics! Theyre simple and cute, and they look like you could actually pick them up and hold them. I love the bright colors and bold lines. The food looks really yummy! I think it's cute how everything can fit into his tiny knapsack, although most items are twice its size. Very convenient. The people have neat changing expressions which gives them life and character. The scenery is beautiful and I love how it changes color with the seasons.(10)The sounds are a lot of fun. They give the game a lot of life like the cicadas in the summer and the birds in spring etc...
I like the satisfying "blip" sound whenever you pick up an object. It's also neat how you can identify someone by the sound of their footsteps. My one complaint about sound is that I wish that the music would change more often. It doesn't annoy me enough to give this aspect a poor rating though.(10)
This is a truly unique game. I love the chance to get away from killing badguys and to appreciate the little pleasures of watching plants grow. I find this game very relaxing. I like not having to be forced through levels and being able to go my own pace through the year. I get to talk to whoever I want, make my own choices and recieve the consequences that go with them. I do find having to put my chickens inside whenever it rains a little tedious. Maybe in future games, a coop door will be available for you to herd the chickens through as a group. I really wish that I could get married and start a family in this game, but perhaps that will be a feature in later games. I also hope that in the future more animals will be available (sheep, pigs, geese, etc.) Another future bonus would be upgraded technology and home improvements, such as an irigation system, a weaving loom, a living room, etc.(10)
This game has kept my sister and I entertained for hours on end, for days and days. We've had the game since December and have nearly completed three years with a busy outside schedule. We get into the game a lot and play it often. It's a unique and interesting game and I plan to play it much more in the future.
I hope that they make future games for PS2 because I don't have a Gamecube and I don't think that I will ever get one.(10)
Overall, this game has been a complete success in my opinion and I hope to play more Harvest Moon games in the future!

i like it because there are lots of different ways to win. and plus gwen is hot! But they should atleast give you sheep so you can make your own silk or whatever for the harvest goddess dress.
And i like that it keeps you in the game for hours without getting bored.

I like it a lot, it interesting, and lots of fun to. I thought it could probably use more girls to pick from, and maybe a little more realistic. But overall i liked it a lot. But it seems to me that its not all that popular. Most of my friends like it but a couple of my friends hate it.

This game is the best game ever!! I know some people keep complaining that HM back to nature was better but look at it this way: in BTN(back to nature)there was no point to the game I mean you did the same thing day after day after day. In HM STH you have a purpose and there is a point to the game.

I love this game I play every day fromn when I get up to before I go to sleep. The graphics are so much better than the two before it. out of both games I would say this ones the best. the only thing i dont like is that I dont think you can get married. I fyou cant thats the only down side! The characters is what suprises me the most theree totally different except lyla the girl who owns the flower shop, she kind of reminds of one of the characters. but Who new the guy whho had circles for hands a head and pretty much everything else could have muscles and fingers!!! well thats my reveiw. noow i have to figurev away to get my brother off the ps2 so i can play my game!

i love harvest moon its cool and super because you get to cook and buy stuff and plant seeds and treat animals with care, i love it because its like real life,its actually for kids but adults can play it too, you can also use codes! heres one code if you have a kitchen in the game:(how to make flan): you need a oven, egg and milk. i have millions of cooking stuff and codes. Well actually i hope that this game is keeping up, and never gives up, because why should it, it is super cool, and the best too. i hope the other people like it too and have intrest in it too!!!

This game is kind of cool because you can plant seeds and raise animals. My favorite thing about this game is that you can get a kitchen. I like to cook in the kitchen. Although, "back to nature" is better. I think they should make a Harvest Moon game that has as good of graphics as this one,but has as many houses,acers, and places to go as "back to nature." I do think that time goes to fast on this game, but to slow on "back to nature." Also if they made it my idea of a game into a real game, it should have sheep and girls to marry. Also, the same charicters in "back to nature." I think the game creators can do better. I give this game 6 stars.

I think Harvest Moon Save the Homeland is one of the best games I've played on the PS2. Except for one problem. Time goes by sooooo quickly! Bloddy hell it's hard to catch that dog! I must confess though. Save the Homeland is the only game I have of the HM series.

Well, this is a good game. But let's go over the bad points. 1: You can't get married like you could in the other Harvest Moon games. 2: When you complete an ending you must start your relationships ALL OVER AGAIN 3: Time goes too fast. And when you stand around it goes TWICE AS FAST 4: Getting your animals back in. You must push those BEEP cows back to the barn the day before it rains. If you're lucky it will only take SIX HOURS. 5: Only 2 extensions! The dog house & kitchen. Now the good points. 1: So many people... 2: Easy to make mula 3: Nine good endings.
Then why am I giving this an 8 if I have more good points than bad? Because I like the HM series. Thanks for reading.

Harvest Moon: Save the Homeland is altogether an interesting game. Like the other games, you are a farmer. You grow crops, raise animals, and chat with the locals. Unlike the other games, you can't raise sheep, attend a festival to make an otherwise routine month a little more interesting, or get married.
As there is no game that exists without downsides, the new HM is doing pretty good against the odds. Sure, figuring out recipies is no picnic, and I'm not the type who likes to spend hours trying to catch a dog of my own, and a sheep or wife would be nice, but you have to admit the gameplay is still great. Almost every character plays some important part, and it's not hard to find an opening to "save the homeland." In fact, you usually have the chances bombard you after a few weeks of roaming around and making friends with everyone.
My favorite feature of the game is the improved graphics. Who knew that you character really had muscles and a pony tail? It kinda puts the little guy with round white hands and dots for eyes to shame. The girls look 1,000,000 times better too, although i wish some of the other original girls had made it besides "Lyla" (namely Karen!). It's also cool that you can actually visit the Harvest Goddess, instead of readig about her in the library, as in "Back to Nature."
All in all, Harvest Moon has outdone itself in the field of their graphics and alternate endings.

I think it's a great game but I miss alot of stuff that were in the first games. I just couldn't understand why you couldn't get married. What happened to festivals and sheep? Why can't you have at least 2 years to get an ending some of the endings take forever to get. I love the graphics I think there an important aspect of the game. I loved the music they play I think it brings out the meaning of the game. But most of all the gameplay was awesome I just loved how you could ride your horse into town and have a important role in the game. In other words it's a great game to have.

this game's okay. but, you can't get married and there aren't any sheep. no marriage!no sheep! what's up with that?! ps2 co. would have a lot of extra cash to burn if they made a game with marriage, sheep, and festivals which would be so cool. But please make a second Harvest Moon game for ps2. There would be a ton of profit from it. Also, make an option where you can be a girl. So, you can win over the guys! It feels uncomfortable if you're a girl playing this game. So C'mon consider it. {you get 5 minutes}
