Well I baught a ps2 a few months ago and I bought this game immeditly and really I didnt like it at first because theres realy nothing to look forward to like the psx version back to nature you can get mariied and the hole 9 yards unlke this game so i rated it a 8 then i got into the game and it was but i still like the back to nature one ALOT MORE

It's so great! The feel, sight, smell, taste, and sound all perfect. I've never written a review before so bare with me(hey, if you are a pro reviewer, send me some tips!). I have always been a harvest moon fan so I can compare it with others. Now for my review.
I will start with graphics. 10, everything has such detail, perfect for this kind of game. The people are so good looking, especially the girls. Second, the sound/music. 10, the best music I have heard so far in a harvest moon game. The music sounds more like music instead of the old, synthesized sounds. Third, the gameplay.10, gameplay is best of all the other harvest moon games. It doesn't freeze up or have many glitches (that i know of, and i have visited many sites and played alot of days). Fourthly, lifespan(how long it takes to get bored or old). 10, this game has kept me interested hours on end. The game still isn't old and I still play it. I usually stop only to do homework or sleep. Fifthly, fun factor(similar to gameplay, but more about playing). 10, I enjoy this game more than any other most of the time. just finding new things make the game fun. Sixth, originality. Um I would rate this a 10 but it is a remake of older versions. I will give it a 10 though because its not like they stole the idea from another company. Seventh, (Value?)?? Nevermind Seventh, how about ESRB rating? They made it everyone so 10! Eighth, whats the word? (Special? Touching? Great? I don't know. It's that warm feeling in the heart you get when you play a good game) I love it, you might too. Great, so great! 10! Thus concludes my review. (Hey, if you are a pro reviewer, send me some tips!(same as top). 1 love this game so much I don't know why I wasn't going to get it (here's a hint go buy the game if you like harvest moon, you'll regret it if you don't)

I simply LOVE the Harvest Moon series.But this one disappoints me.The gameplay is 70% different from Harvest Moon: Back To Nature. You can't get married, you can only build a kitchen and a dog house,you can only keep chickens, cows,a dog and a horse. There's no festivals and the game keeps you entertain for a 1/2 or 1 hour ONLY. The gameplay is so simple,that I don't see any point to make money. I don't have to plant vegetables cause all I have to do is make friends with the townspeople and in a year, I'll win. At least I have the graphics and music to smile about.The conclusion is,if you're not a fan,this game will disappoint you more than it disappoint me.

This is one of the best games I have ever played for 8 reasons.
The Music:The music is awesome theirs a different sound for each season so its not the same old doodoodoo I give the music 10!!!
The Graphics:The graphics are excellent I like how they put so much detail into them and not just the enviermont I give the graphics a 10!!!
The Gameplay: Magnifico the gameplay is awesome I mean making freinds and helping them out when they need it, yes it stinks that their isn't a mayor and other town events but I still give the gameplay a 10!!!
The Sounds: I love hearing water hitting the ground and doors opening and closing in games it shows that the people really want to make the best game they can and I personally like the footsteps and and other normal noises it makes me feel more like I'm there.
The Gals: Alas thou canteth get married that is one of the big downfalls of the game still its cool to make freinds with them. But we should'nt worry about not getting married the new Harvest moon game thats coming out this Spring for the Gamecube it let's you have all the the features from all the other games in Harvest Moon:A Wonderful Life unless you don't have a Gamecube like me I give the Gals a 10!!!
The Non-Pruductive Animals: I love the new feature where you get to choose your dog and train it with the flute. Yes its harder to get this time but you think a stray would come up to you and say hey you want to be my owner. The horse picking feature is cool to all you have to do is work on the horse you want and Bob brings it to you which is totally awesome I give the non-pruductive animals a 10!!!
Pruductive Animals: Yes you can't get sheep in this game but the new Harvest Moon should have them if I remember right. But you still you get the ones you really need like your cows and chickens I give pruductive animals a 10!!!
Newer Items: The newer items are cool but you can't get the axe which really stinks but I still give the newer items a 10!!!
Overall: Overall I give this game a 10 but thats because I'm a die hard Havest Moon fan you may not like it as much as me but I think the new harvest moon coming this Spring will come out on PS2 later thanks byebye.

I think that this is one of the best Harvest Moon(tm)games yet.
First of all, I totally LOVE the music. In every season there are different 'sets' of music, which, did I mention, I LOVE?!?
I give the music a rating of 7.
The graphics are wonderful. The forms of people have definately improved. Anyone who is a big fan of Harvest Moon should check the graphics out. Much better than earlier HM games. Graphics get a 9.
The gameplay isn't as good as I thought it might be. There isn't a mayor, which means no REAL events that YOU can really participate in. The gameplay in Harvest Moon 64 was better, because of the interactivity, for example. (Egg Hunt, Cow Milk Contest...) Most of it is just plant, water, feed, talk...No REAL fun. Gameplay gets a 4.
Although I like the music, sound isn't very good. Why? Well, it's mostly boring, normal sounds, like footsteps, doors..etcetera. The sound rating in my book says 6.
In some of the earlier games, the gals were easier to get! In this game, they are a bit stubborn and bossy. But Dia is the worst (according to me.)The best girl to marry, in my opinion, is Lyla. She is just an open, bubbly person by nature. I give 'the girls' a 9.
Getting your dog isn't so easy, either. You used to get it automatically. Now, they are stray. I hate that idea. Its so annoying! It stinks to have to get it to come to you! I give 'the dogs' a 2.
Items are newer, now. I think newer items is better for the 'virtual economy.'Items get a 9.
Animals..Well, we don't have as many animals as before. I actually thought newer and older animals would be included. No sheep? WHY? Don't ask me! The only livestock to be raised is cows and cickens. Nothing else. The other animals are horses and dogs. I would've preferred a few new animals to introduce. I give the animals a 5.
Overall, the fun factor, I would say, is 7. If you are a true fan of Harvest Moon, you'll like it. I like it, even though I gave it a 7. Don't worry. More surprises might come..

Well I mean this was definatly a good game, but not compared to the first 3 before it. So far for me Harvest moon back to nature was definatly the best. This could have been the greatest but you can't make a continuous a game and not still have all the advantages of the game before it. The getting to choose your horse and dog was really neat and i was impressed with the graphics but really my favorite part from the past harvest moon games was getting to woo the girls and trying to choose which one i wanted to be my bride. I wasn't impressed with how you have to grow the crops either.

Personaliy i think this is the best harvest moon too date. What really gets me is the anime style visual persention and the countless things you can do. If yur are a fan of the past harvestmoon's I recomend buying this verson!

Personally i think that this one is the best yet. The downfalls are you can't get married and you don't need to chop lumber. But the advantages make up for that like you have to earn your own horse unstead of just going and talk to a person and they say oh well here have a horse. Also you don't have to worry about those pesky weeds also you can pick your own dog you don't just start with one but another downside is that you don't have as much choices to pick for the lumberjacks to build but every game has its downsides. Yes, it is a bit short, but the graphics are so much better and the gameplay is much more fun. And not to mention it has nine endings. If you want a really great games that you will be playing for hours, get this game.

I think this game is GREAT! I LOVE IT! I got the N64 (Harvest Moon 64) like when I was eight (four years ago) and I loved it. Then I found this one and the PS Hrvest Moon: Back to Nature. (And did I say the Gameboy ones too?:) ) I does have it downfalls like not getting married ( I mean come on! I like wooing the girls in! ^_^ ), and starting over each year. But I like the nine ends so it makes up for that. The only ending I have left to do is the Horse story. Ya know, making your horse go in the Flower Bud race? I also LOVE ( ^_^ ) how you get to cook too. My friend comes over for weeks at a time just to play all the harvest moon games but we both think this ones the best. Thanks Nastume!! And Natsume?! You should make one called Harvest Moon: Back to the city! lol. Well if anyone needs help or something please e mail me!! I can help you with ALL the Harvest Moon games!!

The game is complacated and fun. Thats what you should look for in a game. I'm Trying the Horse race to save the homeland. Ther're are 9 different endings. You should buy it or at least rent it. Try it you will love it.

Okay, I love the Harvest Moon series. And this one has great graphics, and it IS a good game. But, this particular game of the series is really different from the rest, to an extent that some of the series' fans may not like it. There is no marriage, no sheep, no festivals, and your game starts over at the end of the year (there are nine endings so it kind of evens out). If you're really into graphics, this game has great cel shading. On it's own it's a good game, but compared to the rest of the series the gameplay is only so-so. If you like great graphics over great gameplay, I suggest getting it. But if you like gameplay more than graphics, get Harvest Moon:Back to Nature, the psx version.

Last year i finished comepleteing the PSX Havest Moon and when I heard one was going to be on PS2,i bought a PS2 a few days after.I bought this game last week though and i didnt beat it yet.What you do is "save the homeland".The homeland is your parents farm.You have to meet people,grow stuff and do everything you can to save the farm!You can take two different roots with two different peple to save it.I picked Tims root right now.They have 2 different endings.I like it best when planting a garden and waiting for it to grow and this game is liker real life because all of the people you meet have different attitudes.The graphics may not be the best but it dosent mean its a bad game.Im a Harvest Moonie!
