Awesome graphics tons of fun! | | Kyle Ybarra from San Diego, CA USA says (16/Nov/2002): | Obviously lots of code writing went into this one producing great
graphics, smooth movement, and very realistic surfing maneuvers such as
laybacks, roundhouses, snaps, barrel rides and aerials. Even the crazy
tricks you can pull off which really can only be done in fantasy surfing
which we all do while watching a wave and shredding it mentally, make this
game a blast. And the attention to conditions such as full suits at
Mavericks, trunks in warm water, wave speeds for different breaks, wind
chop,spitting pipes, and humbling Teahupoo that chews you up if you get too
$#< remove me > at !y, enhance the experience. Clearly surfers were involved in the creation
of this game. The soundtracks are great as well. If they're in there, I
haven't heard them, but I was pleasantly surprised to not have to deal with
thrasher punk music from the soundtrack. The characters that you can open up
after building up enough points (or using cheats) are really creative and
make my 2 year old laugh her booty off!
The only minor complaint I have thus far, is that you should be able
to penetrate the lip with your board as well as break through the curtain of
the barrel if your speed is high enough. So far, I've been clipped everytime
regardless of my speed.
The other complaint is that I'm not getting ANYTHING done around the
house because I'm so addicted to this game! From age 33 to my daughter at 9,
this game is a blast! Thanks for an all around bitchin family game. We're
stoked!!
