Final Fantasy X - the ultimate RPG |
| Peter from Eastbourne, UK says (23/May/2003): |
The Final Fantasy series has spawned over 10 games, and none of them dissapoint. This one though, bringes in more depth, character development, story and length ever! The first things that will strike you in the game are the graphics and the voice overs, a first in the FF series. Although not completely co-ordinated with the actions all the time, they are pretty good. The graphics are beatiful, completely lianear, and with stunning backgrounds.
The actual story of the game isn't that long, but there are loads of secret bosses and minigames that will keep you busy for ages. None of those bosses would be beatable if it wasn't for the new system introduced, the Sphere Grid. This allows brilliant character development so you can develop your character how you want to, be it getting better at white magic, becoming a master of physical attacks or just raising some defense. You can now have a max HP of 99999, and bosses can have about 1000 times that, at least.
Blitzball is another of the games features, one of the main minigames in Spira, (the world FFX is set in) and is very addictive. You are in a water filled sphere dome, with 2 opposing teams in it. They have to tackle the ball from each other and score goals. Sounds like football in a way but trust me, it 'aint. That can take up loads of your time, and bring your play time above 100 hours if you play for long enough.
The music is another great thing in this game, with "Suteki Da Ne" and "To Zanarkand" standing out above them all. The lyrics are performed by Rikku, a singer picked out by Nobuo. The character development is brilliant, and you get to see more of thier personallity, and thier feelings. The closest we've ever got to this is Squall, the loner from FF8.
To finish my review I would like to say that this has to be my favourite game of all time. It is really fun, worth the money and pretty different to any other rpg around. The next game you buy has to be this.

| Michael L from Australia, NSW, Sydney says (15/May/2003): |
FFX is the most BEST game eva, it is my most favourite FF series eva!!! the only thing is that the story line is way too short, but the story is continued as Final fantasy X-2!! So the game won't be as short!! I recone that the graphics are the most best thing in the game and the voices ,when i first started the game i thought that the voices were weird because someties whem it is on an emotional bit, yuna says yes ,but is is super fast! thats the think i don't like about the voices but the story line is the BEST eva!! i think that the sound is good but the main theme song is abit slow and too calm, and the battle music is kinda annoying because it is very loud and it has this repeatative tone to it,But the Graphics are the best even the leaves and grass move. And the aeons... The are sooo cool!!! i like Anima but he is abit too strong i could just beat the whole game with this one aeon, but playing this game is very interesting ive played this game for over 110 hours and im not even finished yet!!
All im telling you that getting FFX is a must and if you are interested in it get the next game FFX-2 it is continued to FFX it acually reviels all the dark secrets in Spira and yuna is trying to find tidus.
Its come out this november!!!!!!!!!!

More of a movie than a game... |
| Seymour flux says (10/May/2003): |
Like every 10 minutes you run to a 5-15minute movie! And the temple puzzels are very annoying, there one of the things that make me not want to play it a second time. Bosses are very cool! Like seymour. The ending is total crapola. Boss is a stupid little wimpy spider looking thing called yu yevon. Has a cool movie theatre thing where u can buy the movies and music and listine to it where were ever u want. But the bosses all look really cool and the monsters, a very challenging game.

To Many Too Long |
| Jonathan Phillips from Fredericksburg Virginia USA says (7/May/2003): |
This game is great...I recognize that with the superb Graphics this game goes with the best of them but who wants to spend almost half your gameplay not doin nethin but watching Yuna and Tidas Bable on and on and on and on and on and on and on.But all in all FFX is AWSOME no doubt must own for PS2. If you dont have it buy it and if your do have it good luck finding ALL the hidden items and aeons.
|
No Competion! It is ruler of the Final Fantasy series! |
| Gary C. Gerlach from Lancaster-Pennsylvania-USA says (6/May/2003): |
From Anima to Sepheroith to Sin. The FF series has amazed us all. Squaresoft has done it. The Ultimate game. All is perfect, graphics, gameplay, and story of ages that leaves you wondering...what if? Blitzball is the spice to add to the game that makes us wish it was true. Tidas, Yuna, Wakka, and the others come together to defeat Yu Yevon and the Annoying Seymoure.

The Best in FF Series |
| danielle from malaysia says (5/May/2003): |
This is the best game in FF Series that I've played!! With the superb graphics and real-time gameplay, in addition with the voive overs, this game is simply the best (and not to mention the new implemented game systems). My favourite character is definitely Auron, he's the legendary guardian and is a cool character.

This Game was awsome |
| Gilbert from Sydney NSW Australia says (2/May/2003): |
I don't understand people that dis' this game.
Now I have played most of the FF's...I dunno why people compare this with FF7...I mean FF7 was good in its time but that was ages ago.
The graphix, voices and enviroments in the game are simply stunning..THe story may seem boring at first but It picks up. The characters I liked also (like Lulu :) ) or Tidus cause He kinda reminded me of...well me LOL...I loved stealing items off monsters then mixing them into powerfull stuff...THe ending to this game (I won't wreck it) was so sad that after I finished it I didn't ever want to play it again.
I was also annoyed cause IT was so much fun that I just wanted it to never end. (There is lots of secret stuff in this game even though there hard to get)

Best One Yet |
| Brent from Kansas, USA says (1/May/2003): |
This game was PIMP......The graphics and storyline were just superb. One major thing that I liked was that you can change people in the middle of battles, as well as weapons and equipment. I also like how you can modify your weapons to be all powerful. (Yuna is like your weakest physical fighter...but you put Stonestrike and Deathstrike on her staff like I did...she's a killing machine). I am a true Final Fantasy fan and played and beat 7 and 8. This one is 5x both of them put together. I found all the Dark Aeons and the best weapons and I am undefeatable at Blitzball(another one of their fun add in games). If the rating would go higher I would select that. PEACE OUT
(GREAT GAME.....BUY IT)

| Bull from South-England says (24/Apr/2003): |

| yianni from london'england says (19/Apr/2003): |
FFX is one of the longest'hardest and most complicated game i have ever played! if you can beat maester Seymore tell me how to'and i will tell you every cheat code and thing i know about ff games and i know aiot about ffx and ffx2 so tell me

FF10 |
| cr from dallas says (18/Apr/2003): |
I thought the graphics were good(but had a little problem with voice) and the storyline was solid but it is more like playing a movie than a RP game it was pretty simple to beat only some temples were a little hard to solve.
I also agree it was better than FF8 which I did not really care for FF9 was kind of boring. This game is for first time ff people I give it a 8 out of 10

great but TOO MANY CUT CINES, AND TOO LOOONG |
| Robert Walker from Portland OR U.S.A says (17/Apr/2003): |
I thought that the game was awsome. It is the only ff game a have played to date, but I hope to fix this in the near futer. The problem I had with the game was that there are way too many cut cines and they are way too long. I don't want to play a movie I want to play a game. also, if I am going to be forced to wach realy long cut cines at least make them pre-rendered so it looks kool. aside from that I thoght the game play was great, and the story line totaly awsom to the max.

This Game Rocks. |
| Yuffie from IOW, England says (14/Apr/2003): |
I thought that after 7 was so fantastic that everything else, even other ffs would just an anti-climax, and 8 was exactly that, but 10 is totally amazing, and possibly almost if not as good as 7. When you see how square pushed the psone, and how amazing script, characters and graphics are in 10, you wonder how it can get any better. The plot is great, all the characters are likeable (no Barrets, Quistis', Steiners etc in this one!!) and the whole thing rocks!

to good to be true. |
| liam carlson from newcastle,britian,england says (12/Apr/2003): |
the secrets are great, the sound is great, the movies are great, the action is great, and to story line is gotta be the best thing about it i have already completed it four times in a month but i still enjoy the amazing gameplay of FINAL FANTASY-X there is no bad things about this game.although it could be a little bit longer , becuase with out the trianing the is not all that long if you thing about but hey nothings perfect it has to be a 10 out of 10.

Great but not the best |
| A gamer from Cagayan de Oro, Philippines says (11/Apr/2003): |
The game is really good but though it might be like that, I'd really like it if it were longer. Graphics are good but there were too many FMVs(for me at least). And the music is real fine! I can give their music a 10. The hours of playing the game 7. Graphics is 10. Side quests 8. And the story... let me see... 8. I just wish that squaresoft would make a game as long as Xeno Gears, but with the FF touch! So okay... in short, the game would have been perfect for me if it were in 16% longer and FMVs 30% shorter. I'm not really in for the movies, rather the game and its story.

This is one heck of a game!!!! |
| Sephiroth from Hersey, USA says (30/Mar/2003): |
I have to admit I didnt think this game would amount to much because of the failure of FF IX but WOW I was shocked this is the best Final Fantasy. I got stuck several times and had to level up some to beat certain bosses like Sin head that overdrive is impossible!. I loved the music when you fight Braskas Final Aeon (Jecht). this is an over all awsome game that is in my top 10 and should be in every bodys too!!

It is alright on a saturday afternoon. |
| The Beam Doc from St.Catharines, Ontario, Canada says (25/Mar/2003): |
Okay so is was not as great as FF8 as I mentioned in my last review. But you must give it a chance. The graphics were utterly amazing!! But as I always say, graphics do not make a game, so do not fall into the trap of buying a game for the graphics. The sound was very good even when played out of one speaker, the sound is crisp and flows properly with no errors. The gameplay is much better especially how you get to switch characters and control your Aeons or "GF's". The life span however is much shorter than expecting because the charcters do not grab my attention. In my opinion the plot is the most important factor in an RPG game. In short, if the plot's crap the game itself is crap. I overall like this game but not as much as FF8. FF10 just did not have that "special touch" FF8 had. But I would recommend getting ii, if you are in to RPGs or Final Fantasy.

Great |
| A gamer from Ghotenburg,Sweden says (24/Mar/2003): |
I think that tihis will sett the standards for the coming rpg/adventure games in the future. The Sphere Grid system add a little more diffeculty to the game. The Breake HP/MP/Damage Limit is also a well welcome add. The Grafics in the game is some of the best that I have ever seen, the detail like grass that move in the wind and water that flows adds more depth in the image. The fact that they have voices in this game gives the characters an onwe personality. This game is great and I can't wait until Final Fantasy X-2 comes in the stores.
