This is the only game where I can say that it is exactly what is being said of it. "The most horrifying game ever!" and we can all well believe it. The graphic's are beatiful, the architecture outstanding in it's flawless resemblence the real Himuro Mansion, placed with the fact that the gameplay and the game itself is both intriguing and terrifying, you'll find yourself being pulled into the mansion by the same compelling force that Miku experienced. Best of all is the elaboratly dark, occultic story line that makes this game, to me, the best game of all time.
(OOC) In fact, the Himuro Mansion does exist. I believed at first that the architecture was based upon myth and legend,too. But to my horrified suprise, I was wrong. Though the true Himuro Mansion is not the dilapidated, rotting shell of a house that you see in Fatal Frame, it still gives the sense of fear by the fact that it DOES truly exist. If you go to IGN.com and look up Fatal Frame, you'll be able to see pictures of some of the places in the mansion such as the Grand Hall and the Shinto Gate.

Fatal Frame (though lacking in a Title) is hands down one of the scareist games I have ever experienced on a home console. The amazing atmosphere makes up for the sluggish control and lack of firepower. With your handy-dandy polorid, the Ghost Busters have nothing on this survival horror...(pun intended. Aw play the game you'll get it.) The puzzles are far and few between...and the action sequences suprise even the most ineberated player. E-Ink gives Fatal Frame by Tecmo, two Beer's up.

I never like it when they rename a game for different countries, looking for information for "Project Zero" which is what the game is called here in Australia, I could never find anything... I played a demo of this game and was hooked, I had to play it, this is the only game that scares me at all... not even AVP2 can scare me with aliens and noises happening suddenly... GREAT GAME... Project Zero is 10/10

Fatal Frame has a very haunting erie feeling that Resident Evil & Silent hill try to give. If you thought that Resident Evil, Silent Hill, or even AlLone In The dark was scary as h*ll, then you havent seen fear. This game will make you cry. It takes about 15min, or 20min, to get into the games total fear, but after you do, you wont be able to play it alone. It has beautiful graphics. The best cinema quality ever, no ever PS2 game can compete with this games graphics. It's worth every penie. So give it a chance, and you wont be left fearless.

I read about the game alot before I bought it. Well, believe the hype. When they say the game is scary as hell, they meant it. I was getting creeped out just by the backround noises. The ghosts in the game make you feel like your in MTV's "Fear". The FMV's make you feel like your watching a documentary on The Discovery Channel. It is NOT, I repeat, NOT like Resident Evil, or Silent Hill. This game isn't a shoot'em up zombie game, it's a "Freak with your senses" game that scares the bejesus out of you. Get it now!!!

This game is by far the scariest game i've ever seen or played. I think what makes it really scary is that it's based on true life. What ever you do don't play it at night, if you get scared easy. This is the best ever game to scare you. G out and get it as soon as possible

I heard a lot of rumors about this game. I heard that it is the scariest game ever. Of course, I did not believe it because im pretty hard to scare when it comes to ghost's. I finally decided to buy it. At first, I thought to myself" whats the difference between fatal frame and all those other supposedly scary games?" I personally have to tell you that it was one of the scariest games i have ever played in my life. This game not only had awesome graphics, but it had all the necesitties for a horror game. Including eerie noises in the background and all that scary music. Not to mention all the ghosts that basically looked real. And that bring me to another point. I think the thing that made it all the more scary is the fact that it is based on a true story. I highly recommend this game. so get out, buy the game and get the hairs on the back of your neck tip-up.

I have played almost every single horror game out there, like resident evil, clock tower (very good, but can be annoying), dino crisis, slaughter house (old game), etc.) This game is VERY GOOD. Out of all the games, this had the best graphics (better than the resident evil 1 remake). The plot was also VERY interesting and different (so was clock towers). The sounds added a VERY nice touch to it as well. Also, it had little puzzles just like resident evil. Did i mention that the main character was hot? heheh. unfortunately, i do not think of this to be the scariest game. clock tower was because you couldnt stay in one room or else the killer would come and stab you with his gigantic pair of scissors. also lots of multi endings and changes in the place your at. the fact that the killer can hide makes it hard and the music of when he is coming. Also, resident evil 1 was the begining of really good horror games. It scared the pajesus out of me when i was little. I still rate this game high because it has everything each game i listed had. Oh i didnt say what it had from slaughter house...demonic things, thats what it had.

I'm serious, do not play at night. I'm not easily scared, but this had me shivering. I also got stuck a lot of times and I suggest saving your photos untill you really need them, but this was an awesome game. I had a couple friends over and I think this is better than watching a scary movie at night, because everyone's like, 'Don't go in there!' and it adds to the atmosphere. Go out and buy this game.

I thought this game was a joke when i first heard about it, but i was seriously dead wrong. When i played this game for the first time, i thought it was for about 15- 30 mins, but it turned out to b an hour and the day light was gone. Knowing this game was based on the true story of the mansion, i did a lil research and found out that the masion isnt called himuro mansion. It is called Himura Mansion. The details in the mansions structure isnt like in the game. That part is fictional if u havent noticed, i mean come on who would go into a mansion like this. The stories r true and all the dissapearances r also true. if u want to find out for urself, go look for some documentry sites or books on old japanese legends or myths. Well its 5 in the morning and i been playing for couple ours at nite and im almost done with the game after 5 weeks of horror and barely any sleep. Time to go play and die^^.

i LOVE this game, i know i shouldnt, but i play this game untill 4:00 am, its so fun, but Scary, its exciting too because theres always something going on, and no matter what, i can always get film, which is cool. i just wish that i could get cheats before having to beat the game, o well, i guess ill have to play it the real way, i wanna know more about the true story part tho, all ive heard is that the mansion is real and everything, but ive never seen a document on it, does anyone know any sites?

I must admit. I was quite skeptical of this game in the beginning. I mean at first I said, "What? You use a CAMERA? How stupid is that?"
But I was seriously wrong. The camera battle system is quite catching and is a breath of fresh air compared to most hack-n-slash battle styles that you see in many survival-horror games. I'm very easily scared by this sorta stuff. I took Stacker-3's just to keep myself awake till daylight. My fiance mad fun of me and asked me why I got it if I knew it was going to be scary. For some reason, I love this stuff...but it kills me.
The only game I've played so far that scared me more is Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem. That seriously traumatized me. Hearing people cry and scream from being tortured...even a baby crying...the voices of Ancients reciting the runes as you cast a spell....having faces screaming at you from the floor as you
reach for a book bound in human skin....

This game is intense! I first started playing horror games when Resident Evil came out.....and I thought that game was scary? Well Fatal Frame has taken the cake when it comes to scary, I rented it a couple nights ago and I have been playing since (in between classes of course) It's almost like my friends and I have our very own "ritual." I ask them if they want to play, but they are just completely content with watching. This game is by far one of the best for PS2. Especially since it is a ranking of it's own. No guns, no physical combat. Something that is very refreshing to the gaming world while the game is still a "teen to adult" advisory.

I'v been watching horror movies and playing games like resident evil all my life and nothing has been scary enough to actually scare me until i played this game. my friend got the game from a friend and she is too scared to watch me "kill" the ghosts so i have to play it alone and I'm not even past the shrine place and i'm almost too scared to go on that and I'm outa film ne1 know where i can get more?

Well my sister and I really do ghost hunt so this was a very interesting game selection for us. We herd about it from a friend who lives next door. (She scares easily I might add). So we decieded we would give this a try, I mean it's a game what could be more scarey than real life ghost hunting. Well let me tell you from experience this game will take any courage you have a tear it down to a mere grand of sand. After photographing the demons or unlocking the endless clues and learning the stories of people missing throughtout the mansion, you will fell a dangerously over shocking terror. This terror of how sereal, and true this game really is to life and the strangeness of the other side and ghost. You will become addicted to the endless adrenaline that is realeased everytime you battle the demons or ghosts. Endless demons and ghost will pop out at you as the supberb orchestrated music and heart beat of your player elevates your eyes will play endless tricks on you, or are they....... Enjoy if you dare.

I have almost finished playing fatal frame and I have to say that it is the most insanely scary game ever. My husband has been watching me play from the very beginning and he is even scared by it. The game is so intriguing and engrossing that even when we are tired, we cannot stop. But, then again, sometimes we are so freaked out that we have to take a breather - then go back! There are many parts that kept us both on the edge of our seats. And, some of the scenes really made my heart skip a beat. The graphics are the best that I have seen so far. Usually, when you go to a cut scene, the graphics are so much better than when you go back to regular play, but not in this game. Everything looks the same! I also like that you are guided throughout the game as to when there is something important near. You cannot get lost for long and that's cool. The controls are real easy and the view is spectacular. This game could cause nightmares so please do not let children play. (Very creepy, scary and freaky.) I know this is definately my favorite game to date and can't wait for part two!!!

Coming from a die hard Silent Hill fan that statement means a lot! This game is better than both Silent Hills in a lot of ways.The graphics blow both Silent Hills out of the water,the story line is way better,and I like the fact that you don't have to go around slaughtering everything insight,but it would be nice to give at least one active weapon.I don't know what you'd do to a ghost,maybe throw a little acid on them and watch them fade away,that would be good for a final boss fight.The reason I rate this game a 9 instead of a 10 is because in the tradition of Silent Hill and Resident Evil,this game needs multiple endings.I've gotten 2 endings out of this game,and if there is more than that I retract my 9 and rate it a 10.BUY this game,you won't be dissappointed. I don't scare easily,and this game scared the crap out of me.Play it in the dark,alone,with the sound up loud. Better yet play it with your Playstation surround sound system.
