anybody who played this game deserves the medal of honor14306

nicholas from Beverly Massachucets says (31/Dec/2002):
This game is so awesome. The graphics are so convincing. The germans actully react realisticly.I found out about this game from my cousins game magazine.A week later I rented it.I LOVE IT!This is the best fps{first person shooter}ever.Anyone who plays it deserves the medal of honor. The soundtrack is superb. My favorite music is from operation repunzal. My favorite level is clipping thier wings. My friends and I call operation repunzal the twitchy guy level because if you shoot the prisoner he twitches. The gameplay is so good, and the frame rate is very fast. The slowest loading time is 7 seconds. The lifespan is good. Not too long not too short. The fun factor is about 150.It is so origanal,it might as well be it's own game seris. This game is so good,I can't wait until the next, which I think is medal of honor greanada, which is an island in the pacific,I think. In my opinion, you should rent this first, because it is a little frustrating at times. One more thing about the graphics. The weapons textures are so realistic.Unlike the weapons from the origanals that have one color, these things have textures that tell you what they have been through! And the sounds are so realistic.I heard that they took the actual sounds and changed a little bit. This game is overall awesome. But don"t take my word for it.Get out there and play. What are you waiting for?Shoo!

The best WWII game on the PS28140

Stephen from Annapolis Maryland USA says (28/Jun/2002):
This game is one of the most incredable games i have ever had the privalige to play. The game is very realistic and i think it has pushed the PS2 to its limits. The story line is great along with the historical backrounds to go with it. I like how you can only use codes on a already acomplished mission and that they make it so you cannot get a good score on missions when using codes. This is a good thing because nobody can find an ' easy ' way through the game. Though it was a dissapointment that there was no multiplayer, its still awsome without it. It doesnt really effect the game at all. Out of every game for the PS2 this is my favorite. It doesnt turn into some fake futeristic combat like on Metal Gear or Wolfenstien, but that just makes me like it more. This game is even better then the PC games, though there isnt any blood and stuff like that, its pretty impressing.
One thing i disliked though, besides the very minor gliches, is that all of the Panzers are the same type, i wish there was a veriaty but at least most of the aircraft are different. And the game is also humerous, this may be just me but when the jeep is totaled by what i think is a messerschmit, the tire rolles by. Any way, this game i s the greatest i have ever played, besides classic games like Half-Life, but its up there.

Great for the most part, but with a few flaws21879

Tom Brookes from Worcester, England says (21/Apr/2003):
Medal of Honour: Frontline is a great game. Not only because of its superb graphics, brilliant sound and easy controls, but also because of the great enjoyment you get from it. Though cursed with many annoying glitches (such as one level where you are supposed to destroy 2 tanks and they do not appear) and annoying loading times, it is probably the best PS2 shooter around. All the levels are based on fact, detailed and beautifully captured with the superb graphics and the enemy AI is average. There were only 2 problems that really annoyed me and forced me to give it and 8. Firstly, it is extremely hard to kill 90% of you enemy and retain 75% health in order to win a single gold medal. As there are around 20 levels in the game (which is a good thing), it takes a long time to get all medals and so the game gets repetetive and boring. Secondly, it got so dull after a while, it lost its charm and my appreciation for it, so it will probably only last you 3 months. Still, I found that Medal of Honour: Frontline was a brilliant game and deserves to be crowned the best shooter on the PS2. Do not bother buying any James Bond games when you can buy this, but if you have an Xbox, get Halo instead.

Medal of Honor: Real-Time History39054

Mr. X says (14/Feb/2004):
When I first heard about the MOH games I thoight it would be like the Valuesoft games such as WW2 Normandy or Iwo Jima, a few hard levels of play and over. But, when I first started the first mission I was amazed. I heard you start at Omaha Beach, then make your way into Germany, I didn't know you land on the beach itself! When I started it I was amazed at the graphics and the sound content. The A.I. was great. The fisrt level involves a great deal of coordination to dodge the bullets and to make sure your not blown up by artillery rounds! The first time I played, I was shooting at the fortifications next to this guy, then BOOM!! he was blown to Kingdom come! (May he rest in pieces), the graphics again were great best I've seen so far. The storyline was great and the historical content was accuaurate. On the last mission about the HO-IX I thought that was made up but, I did some research and found out that the Germans were creating one-winged type aircraft in World War II. Overall, I give the game a 10/10 in graphics, sound, storyline, and A.I. content. This is by far the greatest game I have ever played.

All Hail to the King of Console FPS.8197

A gamer from Tennessee, U.S. says (1/Jul/2002):
This game is an absolutely amazing work of art, from the opening Omaha Beach level to the wide (and accurate) array of WWII era weaponry. The graphics are amazingly detailed, so that every soldier, Allied and Axis, look different, from the guy you just killed a few seconds ago to the one screaming at you in German right now. The sound is some of the best I've ever seen..er, heard. Soldiers yell out in thier own langauges, bullets whiz by in a frighteningly realistic manner, and bombs explode with such force you'll find yourself cringing every time on goes off nearby. The gameplay is the most amazing feature, by far. The enemies act realistically, with some of the best AI I've seen, which is, in my opinion, the trademark of the series. Mission objectives seem like they came straight out of one of the many classic WWII films, with tasks ranging from storming Omaha Beach to infiltrating a German U-Boat to masquerading as a German officer. This game makes you feel like you've stepped into one of the great WWII movies, with just about put everything ranging from Saving Private Ryan to A Bridge Too Far.

The best WWI I game for any counsel so far,Brillant and Superb!12655

Joshua BonHomme from Cleveland/TN/The one and only U.S.of A says (9/Dec/2002):
The MOH serise is the best serise of WWII games on the market today! So far MOH Frontlines is the best game of them all,its the best game I've played since the first MOH came out. This game will keep you on the edge of your seat the whole time. The enemy AI is extreamly good, and will give something to fight alone with the allied war effert. The back ground is superb, accuretly depicting battle feild conditions.Another plus is,that all the weapons and missions are extreamly accurate to WWII,all of the 9 missions with 20 sub missions hold true to the war in the European theater. The only falt I fined in MOH Frontlines is the ineractiveness in the levels, there's just not enough you can get involed with other than the mission.Witch my be a good thing for some of us.But as I had said before,MOH is the best you can get on the market for any game counsel!I strongly eurge you to buy this game, don't bother even renting it!youll be hook the first fime you play it.And if you enjoy this game, try Battle Feild 1942 its another great WWII game, but this is only for the computer counsel.

Brilliant,but just short of Superb8594

A gamer from South Yorkshire, England says (22/Jul/2002):
I love the MOH series, and played the previous 2 PSX games to completion. You do get hooked easy and even after completing the game. You want to go back and get the Gold Stars you might have missed. The first level based on the D-day landings is pretty damn nerve-shattering. I sat and played the first sequence and put the controller down with my hands shaking. If you have a surround sound system installed, the atmosphere created is immense. It plays very well, the controls and movements are just about right. The sound is cracking, the graphics are nice and clear. I found a few niggles late on in the game with a bit of jerkiness. Not too sure about the length of the game, I was a little surprised when I completed the last mission. I had expected more. With a lot of patience and care, the game is aout right in terms of difficulty. Some of the missions are long and will take you upto an hour if you take your time and pick of enemies from afar. I would not say it is the best of the PS2 titles. But is certainly the best of its type from what I have seen.

One of the best shooting games for 2002.14979

Alex Ray from Hemstead NY USA says (7/Jan/2003):
Medal of Honor is an amazing game that has a cross combo of the 007 series and Battlefield:1942. A game with fantastic detail and even better game play. People that play the 007 games will not find anything least then the 8 I gave it. Plus this game as some real gun work for example, the MP40 isn't very dependable and not good when that's your last weopon, also it's a really empty's out your ammo and is better off as a room-clearer and get in the way of picking weopons. It's even better with the A.I., because they don't do the same thing when you hit a different spot and sometimes they'll do suicide by running into the enemy side in a fight and they won't shot you if you run into fire and then hide or they'll chase you if they don't see you but this game has it's drawbacks like only three of the nineteen missions alow you to fight along side Allied soldiers. it does not feel like there are a lot weopons.Other then that this is a really good game with great gameplay and soundtrack. If you are a hardcore gamer then it's best if you rent it.

An outstanding work of art !14979

Bjorn from Roosendaal, Holland says (5/Jun/2002):
Graphics: The PS2 runs at 300 Mhz and has to make do with a limited amount of RAM but EA once again show their mastery of this system by coming up with Medal of Honor Frontline. Let me tell you this game looks every bit as good as Medal of Honor Allied Assault on my PC which runs at 700Mhz and has a G-force 2 and plenty of RAM onboard. Character detail and lighting effects are all screaming with class. Also the framerate stays very smooth

Sound: As you probably already read elsewhere the first level has you storming Omaha Beach, if you have a dolby surround system you will actually hear the bullets soar by your head as you desperately try to make your way towards the German bunkers...the sound of grenade impacts and screaming of your fellow soldiers only add to what must be one of the most intense moments in any videogame ever..

Gameplay: From the moment the loading screen fades you're in for a ride!

Overall: we're not worthy I tell ya, we're not worhty !! hahaha, no seriously, go out and get this, you owe it to yourself....

THIS IS WICKED!!!!!!!! BEST WAR GAME EVER!45908

TOBSTER from England says (10/Apr/2006):
I think it is worth to say this game needs a little
Respect. I, personally, didn’t think much of Medal of Honor rising sun. It was well to short, and sometimes you could get a bit bored. So I went into a game shop and traded it in for Medal of Honor Frontline (I like my war games) and when I played the first level it was
Utterly wicked. It takes place on D-Day. Need I say more? The graphics are godamn amazing and you feel that sense of excitement. The second level takes place in a German bunker under the beach and that is brilliant! Once a German soldier was standing by some stairs, with his back to me. I went up to him and whacked him round the head with my gun, and he fell down the stairs like a little toddler!! You can make people die in tons of ways so you never get bored of watching your enemy die. You can also shoot the helmets off your own team which is hilarious!!! So if you own Medal of Honor Rising sun go trade it in and get a better gaming experience.

A sublime slice of WW2 action finally brought to Playstation 27751

Scatts from Liverpool says (10/Jun/2002):
You are about to play the best opening level on any game ever. You stand in your landing craft listening to your comrads nervouse coffing as the sound of the shells gets closer another landing craft hits you. Then just as you are about to get on to the beach a shell hits your craft sending you flying through the air and into the sea. Bullits ripple like torpiedos through the water. Pinch yourself, but if only this sort of imersion was throughout the game we might have a hailo beater, a shame. However, the leavels after the Omah beach landing are never dull with plains flying overhead and shells going off all the time. The fachil expections are the best yet on a console, there is nothing better then catching a German soilder asleep and then seeing the suprise on his face befor you put a bullit in it. The missions in the towns againsed the SS are nothing short of spectacular this is Saving Privet Ryan the game a stunning feet of game design.

THIS GAME WILL ROCK YOUR SOCKS OFF!!!12900

Bad Andy from Lewisburg, TN USA says (14/Dec/2002):
This game was an impulse buy - and what a great one! Sweet-Mother-of-Pearl this game rules!!! The game's levels are as advertised - immersive. The details, the graphics, the uniforms, the guns, the sound FX, the TOTALLY CUSTOMIZABLE CONTROLS, the soundtrack, the story, the historical accuracy, it all ads up to be the finest, the ultimate fps I've played on ps2 (I have yet to play Timesplitters 2)! It's not too easy, it's not too hard, and there really is AI! And the enemies don't die the same way everytime! There's got to be some 20 or so different dieing animations! They actually have animations for reactions to where they're shot! Somehow the game seems to pull off a surreal WWII experience without using any blood! I bought it early this summer and am still playing it in December more than I play GTA3 or GTA:VC! The game reigns supreme over ps2 fps! KUDOS, EA!

lacking some key factors in shooter games22390

daniel from katy texas usa says (27/Apr/2003):
This is defanitley the best WW2 game around beside battlefield:1942. But it lacks some key factors in firstperson shooters. For example the length of the game is almost rediculous. All of the other MOH games have had 24 levels but this one is only 19 it should be much longer. This one should also definatly have a multiplayer.half the fun in the other 2 MOH games was filling your friends up with lead while laughing in their faces and then pulling the clip off a grenade.Other than that the graphics are only an 8.The only thing that makes this game so fun is that the weapons are so damn cool. The shotgun rules. I really dont think you should buy this game just rent it. In my opinion the best games are when your driving down the street in a furari with rockets shooting out the ass of the trunk. If it doesnt have that then its just not there for me.

WOW!!!!9273

Sean from Barrie Ontario Canada says (27/Aug/2002):
Now this is the best game I have ever played in my life. I have never seen a game have detail like that. The amount of work that was put in it is amazing. These people have travled to these places and put us in the history of WW2. They took pictures, looked in books and gathered the sounds of the weapons that was used in the game. These people put us in place of the Soldiers that did this kind of stuff. It would of been good to have multiplayer but that was fine. I also liked the music in the game, it goes with each senario. It would of been better if the game had some blood and limbs falling of for kicks. It's ok though, there was a satisfying dust from there jackets. I liked how there was a different face and uniformes for men. They all had the same detail as the uniformes back then. I have not played any game as fantastic as this!!!

Greg Garber from Zionsville, Indiana, USA says (23/Jun/2002):
Intro: Whether it's from the beaches of Normandy to a secret Nazi military installiation it is a exciting and envigorating game. Graphics: The graphics of this game are outstand. the game has every detail from a symbol on a soldiers helmet or a patch on a soldiers uniform the graphics show every detail possible. From the helmet to the boots every thing is exact. Sound: The sound on this game are excellent. From bullets zipping by your head to shells exploding next to you or drunk Nazi's singind the sound puts you right in the scene. Gameplay: The gameplay is a excellent as the original Medal of Honor games. The game is easy to play and very fun. If you do not have this game already rush out to gat it.

All these great reviews are so true. But....8227

Jimmy Patterson from Marion AR USA says (3/Jul/2002):
only 42 days and counting, for the greatest multiplayer/wargame of all time. Thats right I'm talking about Socom. I admitt I absolutely love MOH. but less than a week to complete it. Your better off renting it. As good as this game looks and plays, they should have made it a little longer. Well a lot longer a month would have been cool. They could have taken out some of those history lessons and replaced them with game play. But I am glad I bought it, I love showing it to new people and hearing them say it looks like Saving Private Ryan short of the gore. I feel like this game is the best game out right now, but not for long. You people need to go out and reserve Socom, it will demolish MOH.

Great but could of been better7739

Bigshow from Fresno, CA says (9/Jun/2002):
The newest edition of MOH is without a doubt a great game, most of the missions are historically orentated, and gameplay speed, graphics are great. Altough there were a few things about the game that dissapointed me first of this is the fourth edition of MOH and they still have not inculded the Luger as a weapon!, or the M1 carbine, or the flame thrower, or the grease gun, but there does always need to be room for improvement. Overall the biggest dissapointment was that in this edition there is "NO DEATHMATCH"!, whos stupid idea was that it was one of the best things about Medal Of Honor, to me there was nothing better than getting the friends together with some brews and kicking a$$.

Allied Assault or Frontline?31672

Szico VII from Szico VII says (6/Sep/2003):
  (Written by Szico VII)
Dont get me wrong, Medal of Honour Frontline is a great game, but the main thing it lacks is a decent multiplayer. I know the GameCube and X-Box versions have it but it still sucks. The levels are great and the enemies are realistic. However I found it unusual the amount of times I backtracked through a level to make sure I hadn't missed an enemy so I could get a Gold Star, and found that some enemies had 'magically' appeared out of nowhere. Still, a very good game. Allied Asault is much better though as it has a great multiplayer and more missions. So if you have a good enough PC and a decent modem or Broadband get Allied Assault and Spearhead (The Expansion pack)

An Excellent Game, for a few hours12190

Trey from Virginia, USA says (1/Dec/2002):
First of all, this game has great graphics and sound. The orchestra is brilliant, and the levels are great(especially the D-Day one). You'll love this game, but then suddenly, it is over. The replay value in this game is little to none unless you are a hardcore MOH fanatic who "has" to get all Golds in every mission. It took awhile for me to adjust to the controls, and i was wishing for a keyboard and a mouse through out the first five missions. Most console fanatics won't have this problem though. I highly recommend that you go and rent this title immediately. You will enjoy it. If you're looking for a perfect FPS though, this is certainly not it. GO GET HALO! NOW!!!!!

Why did they even bother?7695

Sonny from Glasgow, Scotland says (8/Jun/2002):
I cant believe they even thought of making this game without any multiplayer options. This game I was at least hoping to be a multiplayer for up to 4 players like every other shooting game on the PS2. I was so disappointed to find out it didnt even have a 2 player like the original versions on the psone. This game otherwise is very good but the only game worth buying thats a one player is GTA3 for obvious reasons. The developers of this game should be ashamed to only make it a 1 player the whole point of the originals was to laugh at your mates as you filled them with lead. I will wait until a lot of idiots buy this game and make it platinum so then it is worth buying.
