| Ash from england says (3/Feb/2004): |
ok its good but the fact of the matter is that they cud do so much better iv done all the games an liked them all but who doesent like robots the size of 4story houses runnin around blowin up everything that ent bolted down but im still waiting 4 them to show us all wot the ps2 is realy capable of and hopefully they will blow armored core 3 out of the water i wud like them to make the game alot harder so only the true pilots can beat the game an then if it was online there wud b an endless aount of possibilities 4 the game an wen that eventually happens ill see u all in the arena.

Armored Core 3 Hitlist |
| De' Angelo from Tacoma, WA. USA says (20/Jun/2003): |
I say Armored Core 3 is the best Armored Core game ever. The new features they put into are excellent. You have these drop off weapon which are really helpful. I make my AC over wieght and once I used up all the ammo I drop the weapon to make me lighter. The graphic are excellent. The AC doesn't look so cheap. Another feature they put in there that made it so cool was the weapon that came out of your AC core. It's either a fast speed turbo engine, or a pod weapon that comes out. The music is cool with good sounds. Even though there arn't that much misson that's okay. Just as long as it have an excellent multiplayer system. I can play with my friends day and night. I enjoy this game very much. For those who rent this game DON'T!!! It's way to good to be rented. So go out and bye it instead. It'll get you addicted to it.

Best Platform MECh game ever! |
| Jason from Hemet California usa says (22/Jun/2003): |
This is a excellent game overall and the best Armored core of the series. The sound has improved dramatically and the graphics have taken a small leap foward but are slightly above average overall compared to other games. Althouge It could of ben longer but the Difficulty ballances Things out. The customization of youre mech is the most fun part sice you can make any disighn you could possibly imagine. All of the parts of the previouse game have ben ridisighned to a certain extent. The arena and Missions present a challange for newbies but veteran AC players won't have trouble until 3/4 of the way threw the game and infact, some of the missions and arena stages are boring but only to veteran players. The sound track Doesn't fit the game and is annoying to listen to. The new Exceed Orbit core weapons are a great addition to the series alonge with the wingman feture;and they actually are a help to you rather than a nusance. The weapon drop feture isn't all that useful because you won't stop to think about dropping a empty gun in the middle of a fight. The Framerate is almost locked at 60 fps except in certain situations. Unfortunatley you can't upload youre' game data from AC2:AA. The multiplayer is ablolutley great. It's THE place to beat youre friends into the ground or toast the computer pilots. The controls Have not changed from AC2 so vets will start busting heads with ease. The controls are more resposive as well and their are many small rovements over past games such as the shop can be acessed from the garage and parts sold from the assembly menu. Their are a few bugs with the enamy Armored Cores A.I. since they will boost into walls when you're directly on the other side.the funest parts are the "special" missions and the arena matches are generally very enjoyable and will keep you on youre toes. This game is excellent overall and is a MUST BUY for any mech fan, its just way to good to rent and even if you do rent it you won't get very far and when youre done at night youle still be thinking of different combinations to make youre AC better.

| Swordblade from Birkenhead, England says (16/Oct/2003): |
The first few things I noticed about this game was the music, different from all of the other AC games. Usually we'd get a striking techo theme etc but in this we get a mix of orchestral sounds with a surreal chanting. I didn't like it at first but now this really gets through to me, the music is excellent.
The gameplay has what all the other games had and more with the additions of new features such as a orbital weapon choice for the AC or the option of a consort AC or MT.
The controls in the game handle very well, with an excellent configuration allowing fantastic control over the Ac's maneuvers.
I really can't fault this game for anything, it's worth 10/10 and it rests in the pride of place in my games collection.

Sweeeet! |
| Mikel Aires from Radcliff Ky United States says (17/Jan/2004): |
First off! This Has been my first AC game and I'm alrealdy hooked! Dude! Were else can you play in a big ass mech decked out in almost any weapon and armor style you want. Personal Favorite style has to be the right left blade combo with dual grenade lunachers of death, uh back to subject.
Good Points:
1. the music (If you can find it let me know)
2. the huge array of optins and limits for your ac
3. Multiplayer!
The not so good points:
1. no online network yet
2. The levels seem short and kinda simple, only one objective
for most.
Other than that, Sweeeet!!!
Let me know what your ac set up is and i can probably do some poster art for ya.

One Word....Awesome!!! ----And thats all there is to it---- |
| Kyosuke Misaki from (n/e)..well not really...just to lazy to put it ^_^ says (20/Feb/2004): |
WEll..i've always been a fan of the Armored Core series..So when i bought AC3..i knew what i was going to see. The best thing that got me jumping around my room was the movie in the beginning. That was the best movie of all the Armored Cores put together.. The things that were dissappointing are as followed..
1)The graphics of the game were good..but i mean..c'mon..your people are WAY MORE capable of making WAY BETTER GRAPHICS..so get off your butt and work your #*%< remove me > at s off.
2)And the second thing is...hmm..come to think of it..there isnt a two..just the graphics..thats all ^_^
And CANT WAY FOR THE NEWer verison..i forgot the title..but i saw it..AWESOME!!!

yet to play...but sure to be killer |
| MassiveMechaManiac from Hicktown, Nowhere, Canada says (8/Aug/2002): |
Well, since this game has not yet been released where i live (hicktown, nowhere, canada) i cant say too much about it. But ive read a bunch of articles about it. Im an avid fan of the armored core series, and armored core 2 kicked ass! when it came out... and it was one of the first PS2 games to be released. (remember how crappy the first PS1 games were) so judging from the screen shots ive seen (amazing) and all the tons of new features ive read about (f'n killer) this game is sure to BLOW YOU AWAY!!

awesome game |
| Zecks from manteca, california says (23/Sep/2002): |
I like how the shells fly out of the machine guns now and the bullet sounds are more realistic. also i think it is awesome that the 4 legged ACs actually walk now. it makes more sense than how it was before. personaly i am gald they took the over weight limit out because i was getting sick of people using over weight mechs that were super cheap. at least now we can keep the strategy of the game. The music is really awesome its unlike i have ever heard its like symphony with a techno beat. which reminds me i have to get some mp3s of ac3. also the opening sequence is lovely. the map design is very orriginal with the exceptional texturing they look pretty realistic. (im a 3d modeler my self)and once again i think mad hatter is hella dumb and stupid and he deserves to die because you dont need 4 playstations to do a 4 player battle. you need 2 with the link cable thats all. how the hell did you get 4 you idiot. and i like the way they give you more parts near the end of the game it helps to get you to keep playing the game and develope your ACs more to fight your friends with. i happen to like the 4 player death match i find that orriginal i like the new jungle map to that looks great also. another thing i like is the fact that everything is faster. the frame rate is much quicker than ac2. so that means those big heavy bulky legs are no longer tidious. which makes them fun to use now. and the mech designs are not very similar to ac2. once again mad hatter is an idiot. there was also a new feature i was surprised with. the fact that you can have a gun in both arms. i thought that was really cool. on my Tekaman Unlimited mecha i has a grenade launcher in 1 hand and a flame thrower in the other. i think its awesome. im happy that ac3 now asks you for replays rather than just making you watch them. i hated ac2 for that sometimes. i like the new drop parts feature. that definitly comes in handy when you run out of ammo with something. ac3 is aweomse proably one of the best ps2 games so far. now they just need to make the mechs hold the heavy weapons with 2 hands. i think that would look super cool. reminds me of armor trooper votom.

MAdHatter you moron |
| Dragon from lavon texas says (28/Sep/2002): |
This was the BEST armored core i have played. I own all 6 of them. And they DID change alot in the AC3. you just have bad taste. your a wuss for wanting the over weight cheat, i could beat you with an under weight core. its not about what you got its about what you can do. and aparently you cant do nothing of use. You have to cheat to win. Thats extremly pathetic.

This is urufu and i read your neat reveiews but madhatter is a wuss |
| Urufu Reijuu from Planet Sadaria says (2/Oct/2002): |
hey people i havent played AC3 yet but i got a good feeling its good but i checked this site out and pause at madhatters review...if you dont like the game dont play it besides your cheap man you need to be wise about you Ac's weight and probly your own LOL But from all the pilots i met on the web so far im the only pilot with a tread ac the acually knows how to pilot one like a ace. but im still not sure though am i the only person that likes using treads? i hope they make a online version so i can find out. but about those four legged Ac's i heard about that sounds neat. oh and in case your wondering about my ac is name is MATRIX it has black base and grey trim it usually has a laser rifle then a grenade launchers and vertical missiles. but in AC3 it may change i dont know yet but its going to be good and with a multi tap my friends can join in a rumble with me but they probly team up against me first LOL ^_^"

Robot Destruction At It's Finest |
| E-Down from San Diego, CA says (4/Oct/2002): |
I was very pleased with how From Software has progressed the Armored Core series thus far, as I also own all the games the series, even the PS-One versions. The opening cinema is excellent and the graphics are super sharp. The way the light and visual effects bounce off the core are astounding. The sound effects are top-notch, and the way they revamped the weapons really adds a nice touch. I like the fact that you have to replay certain missions to unlock new abilities and parts, as opposed to losing a thousand times as in previous AC titles. The dropping of parts and the Exceed Orbit additions are cool as hell, and the option of hiring consorts is neat. Kudos to From Software to making overweight cores act, well...overweight. However, I just wish you could (in tradition of all AC games) upload data from the previous titles, and change the buttons around a bit more. It would have been nice to, for example, use the R3 button to look up AND down. I always hated aerial combat in Armored Core for this. Other than that, it's an excellent game and the multiplayer battles really show off how good you are at piloting an AC against human idiots or the underhanded-ass computer AI. If I could have just ONE wish, I wish that From Software would implement multiplayer missions into the ACTUAL game, not on the side, i.e., Another Age, and that way you could hire human players or COM players with your own AC designs to accompany you on missions! That way you could use your own creations on a mission with you or through another player! It's always nice to dream....C'mon Agetec!!

Getting there/complainers |
| Dishonor from CA says (15/Oct/2002): |
Armored core 3 is the second best next to Masters of Arena.(moa had the create your own arena.) AC 3 gives great reply to soild fans of the series. Gaining more parts to buy as you progress thourgh the game seems more right then having everything handed out at the start. I feel that if I find a part it adds more of a feel of acomplishment to the game. If someone complains about not liking the game its almost always because they expect success to be brought to them on a silver platter. The only real problems with the game is that they did not push the ps2 to its limits. Such as in Final Fantasy X where they to spend the time polishing the graphics and tweaking a few minor problems such as computer AI they would give the game more of a appeal to gamers who gripe and complain about how stupid a game is. For those who are like that rent before you buy. Save yourself the time and effort required to bug your parents to take you to the mall and do something useful like help feed the poor.

best AC yet |
| A gamer from MA, USA says (15/Oct/2002): |
This is the best AC that I've played. I've beaten the previous two (AC2, and AC2:AA) with some ease, and this is going to be a tough one to get through. The one thing that I don't like about the game is the set up of the garage. I think you should be able to sell parts in the shop, instead of in the assembly. Also, you should be able to sell cores without having to buy another one first. That is just annoying. But everything else is superb. The action is great, and I especially like the "arena" aspect. That is a lot of fun, and helpful in developing tactics for the missions. I hope that they'll come out with an add on to this one. Quick tip: I've found that building up your OP first is a better option. It lets you do more damage (obviously) and also, in most instances shortens battle or mission times, resulting in less time for your AC to get damaged. Also, dont buy the most expensive equipment, especially FCS. They're not always better.

More Great AC Combat |
| A gamer from Somewhere, Florida says (15/Oct/2002): |
I read madhatter's review on this and I think he was right about one thing (if nothing else) the weapons do seem a little rehashed. BUT WHO CARES? They still work fine don't they? Personally I don't like how the arena was too easy. I dropped the top ten, and Exile in one try each. Other than that the game was fun to play with it's more varied missions, consorts, and more AC fights in missions. Agetec should release another one following this formula.

I just love figthing robots |
| m xtra from Greenville, NC, US says (23/Oct/2002): |
I think this game is great. I love the arean part and think that the graphics on this one is good. I wish that there was a co-op part so that me and my friend could go crazy on the computer. Other than that this is a great game and am looking forward to the next one. Oh the madhatter is one dumbass. He must be some lonely virgin living in cave beating off to porn all day.
|
the best one yet, definitely.... who is this madhatter guy? Bet he only has 3 teeth... |
| Githonel from Blueield, VA, US of A says (25/Oct/2002): |
This was definitely the best AC yet... My favorite part of the game was always trying to create the best legal AC's to compete aginst my friend's cheap-as-butt AC's... the only gripe I have is that the Karasawa gun was really heavy... but then this was the first game where i've been able to find it, so i guess maybe it's always been that way? And anyway, madhatter is a fag, the missions rocked, and the visual appeal of the parts was really great... there was (and if it didn't stick out so much i wouldn't mention it) a lot of differences between the ways the different company's parts looked. i always liked that, it made the whole thing more believable. and I also like how you can unequip your plus abilities... so you don't have to always be a loser, you can only be a loser when you're really pissed at the game or your buddy over there... and i'm the only guy i know who actually bothers to look for plus abilities... then i use them on somebody and they don't know what happened... and the opening sequence was definitely the best yet. i love how they show off the new features of the game in the opening sequences. yeah... armored core rocks my face off.

Very good game, perhaps the best on yet. |
| A gamer from Lawfaytte IN USA says (2/Nov/2002): |
AC3 is pretty fun, I like the armored core games (Mabey it's the design your own robot or the mass killing of things). THis game is little diffrent from the 2nd one(The one i played). instead of haveing #'s in the arena they have a-4 or E-15. I can't find anything wrong with it, except 1 thing. NO GOOD CHEAT CODES. I don't want to drop a weapon i want money! After a misson when you take out AC repairs and ammo you get very little money, other than that the game is great
|
newbie but plan to stay!!! |
| talon5105 from McCloud CA says (3/Nov/2002): |
this is the first ac game i have played and im hooked. i think having it so the core can be overweight only makes the designing more fun. the opening cinema had me drooling. the arena left me wanting but you hear alot of people saying it way pie and i bet those are the $#< remove me > at ! who got a high ap core with powerful weapon and ran to the corner of the parkinglot.i liked how u could get help if u needed it. As for replay i think thats the one draw back the game need more levels so you could choose what mission to take on a little more. madhater u really need to get your head out of your ass and try this game again.

MORE LEVELS MORE LEVELS MORE LEVELS! |
| GrayFox436 from USA says (5/Nov/2002): |
There isn't much I can say that hasn't been said allready. As a Master of Ravens and a thrise over Nine Braker who beat AC2 in less than a week I can safely say that AC3 was the best Armored Core game ever to hit the shelves. It has more weapons, new bad-ass part designs and they brought back the arenas and that, my frends, is a good thang. Oh... and don't even get me started on the opening FMV. The cool level designs, improved sound, big-ass robots boosting through the air with guns blazeing and varied missions mixed in with plenty of 1v/s1 in the arenas makes for great stress relief and a welcome change from my usual 2D FPS and RTS games. If I had one big complaint however it would have to be MORE LEVELS MORE LEVELS MORE LEVELS! It only took me two days to beat all the levels in mercenary mode and 4 more days after that to beat all the arenas/extera arenas. Nevertheless this game is a must have for AC fans and great for anybody who likes mecha. Oh, and madhatter, you'er an ideot.

It is the Best out of the Series...... |
| NightHawkAe says (5/Nov/2002): |
It is by far the best game out of the series. There have been many changes including, the ability to drop weapons and extensions after there ammo is consumed, All parts have been re-designed and i mean check out the cores; they don't all have overboost on them, some come with weapons instead. Also the graphics and sound have increased since the last AC. And of course they re-added the Arena, totally re-designed and better than ever. Yeah i also like the new engine that they are using, and of course no game can be complete without the use of DUALSHOCK! yes finally they added the ability to use analog. Its heaven i tell you. Thats my little review. |_|
