Keep 'em commin12895

Cloud Strife VII from Milwaukee, Wisconsin USA says (14/Dec/2002):
This game is awesome. I like almost everything about it. From the level schemes right down to the weapon design. The only beef I have with the game is that I have to put in so much work to get my favorite Armored Core weapons and Abilites. That aside though this is tied for my favorite game in the series with Armored Core 2, although I haven't played Armored Core Project Phantasma yet. All-in-all it's a great game, if you like Mech games or just causing destruction this is a great game. Oh and Madhatter you're an Ass for writing that review and I hope you burn in my AC's flamethrower. (Although I do prefer the Moonlight sword) THANKS!

Always getting better...12814

paroxysm from L-town, NC says (12/Dec/2002):
As a long time veteran of the Armored Core series, I can say this is one of the best Armored Cores. And for Madhater, he's probably just some idiot gone insane because he's not skilled enough to be an AC pilot. In addition to that, this was also one of the easiest Armored Cores... I mean, come on, the boss is a FREAKIN' PILLAR!! Who couldn't beat that?!?! The weight limits are for a reason. Now it takes skill to build a core, and if you don't, you are penalized. That's more realistic than the previous ACs. And the new effects are over bearing...shells flying out of the machine gun, the shotgun blasts, and have mercy on us all, the chain gun. I have seen previews and pics of the next one, Silent Line, and I can be sure that it will be even better; and I'm gonna be first in line to get it.

They could of done more.... alot more.12572

Steve Gwozdz from Vernon. CT says (8/Dec/2002):
I agree with madhater's review pretty much. It's the same game as AC2, they've just changed the names of the parts and altered the appearance of them. They function the same. They've done nothing innovative. Don't get me wrong I can't put this game down because I'm addicted and it's something new. However I have a feeling it will get old fast. No online. Graphics the same. Levels uninspiring. Music.. good god!? They should of called it AC2 AAA, for another another age. The one thing I did like was the arena. It was better this time around.. The A ranks give you quite a run for your money. What was up with BB though... what a wuss. I had a tougher time with some of the C ranked. Oh well, even though I thought the game was so so, I'd still buy the next one..I must be addicted to it like cigarettes.

Hmm..the weapons are kinda a little.. low to me12425

G}{ô$T ¥ from Texas, Sinton, U.S.A says (6/Dec/2002):
The Armor core3 game is realy cool it has decent everything, graphics, sound, lifespand, ect but its a little low on something. The weapons are kinda low. There isnt that much on weapons that are realy cool. There isnt a back weapon that desables lock ons and then u can just attack them. There isn't my favorite weapon on there that lazer rifle that in the arena that rank A guy has. That is my favorite gun man!!! I just thought the game could be funner if it had all those weapons. Sadly to say I havent beaten the game yet but I hope the weapons are in there. ¤("¤)

This Game is awsome, i only hope they get better12005

Damion(pilot name) from Brimingham Alabama says (29/Nov/2002):
This game is liek everyone has said, it is the best so far. i can only imagine and hope that they egt better. being an excellent pilot in my opinion, ti was hard for me to beat the A class people because i had to stay in-flight for long periods of time... Oh and how do u people say that the arena was easy (the one guy) that said he beat the top 10 guys in the arena in 1 try apiece. now, i do agree with the opinion that some wepons that are like 1000 pounds+ should be helt with two hands instead of one and if u hold it with 2 hands (wich you could have to option of) you could move considerably faster with it in that mode. now i havent personally use the drop wepon technique because i didnt know i even had it until i beat the game, or got to last 5 guys or so in arena. I was also wanting some input on how u guys might have beat the top 5 guys sinse they are all harder. i was going to try out some of the techniques u guys sent in and see if they improved my fighting. But sinse i am a huge AC fan, i wil go ahead and say GREAT JOB!!, this game has the graphics, sounds, controlling ability, (the R1 and R2 for up and down isnt that bad u just have to get used to it), the body designs are awsome now that its on the PS2. i agree with all of the people who says we need MORE LEVELS and HARDER MISSIONS!. i would love the online capabilities if it had it, and yes, i would love to co-op with a friend or 3 on the next one if it isnt online. they should also have it where u can decide on what mission u want to have ur co-op with. and even a co-op arena would be nice mabey a 2v2 or as many as a 4v4. my core is awsome i think, it has gotten me out of many situations. like it has the round tank legs, 1 granade cannon and a laser cannon on back, the 1000 bullet machine gun, and howitser. i have the core (most expensive when you start out)and i think it's them arms that are the lightest btu "Best recoil", if you guys would send me your core desings I would love to check em out. well guys i congradulate you on the AC3 it is awsomessss. E-Mail = SilentWolf53< remove me > at CS.com (Send me core designs i luve to try em OUT!!)

Trust me. Rent this game.dont let that stupid gundam games make you think all games are bad, at least try this.11885

Corbin from N.C. USA says (26/Nov/2002):
Ok, I Haved player this game for a month and a half.I still havent beaten the game yet. I still play it. That explains a lot. most games I haved played I stop in a month and never play it again. The rating of the core is hard to get to excellent. In AC2 all you had to do is make a heavy weight mech with lots of fire power.
Ok, I have talked enough about stuff must of you dont understand. this game isnt for everyone.read mad hatters. If you dont have the pattience in a game to get good at it (it took me 2 weeks at AC2 and a week in AC2). If you dont like mech games dont get this. But if you dont mind them or hate it because of that stupid gundam games (I AM SEIROUS, the gundam games stink as bad as my socks compared to AC seiries) at least rent it. Thats how I got started in it. Trust me, at least rent this game.

Armored Core 3 is awsome,this game rocks,what else can i say?Oh,and Mad Hatter,dont be an A$$11885

Damien from Tx ,Usa says (15/Nov/2002):
Ok,this game totally rocked! I mean, theres only afew things wrong with it, and those things arent really bad. There are alot of things to do. Theres the arena mode (my personal fav)is great! The missions are really cool. The graphics are perfect. The sound is perfect. What else can you ask for, well, you didnt have to ask, they already added a bunch of cool stuff. Like the way you can drop weapons when they are out of ammo, and when you do, you move even faster! One of my favorite things is how they changed they made the pack weapon that makes you invisible from enemy radar had been changed to an extension! They also have new hover extensions, extensions were you can turn quicker and a whole bunch of new weapons. Its cool how they redid all the weapons, that is so cool! (137) They have it were you can higher consorts now, which really helps if you cant do a mission. The extra arena rocks (ive always wonder what it would be like to tag team someone with a big meche lol). The only real gripe i have is the length of the game, it could have had more missions,i mean, with the engine of the PS2, they could have had alot more stuff. And to follow the tridition of every review that has followed Mad Hatters review, YOUR A DUMBA$$ YOU STUPID beppppppp. Im sorry, but we cannot let you here the rest of what Damien has to say about Mad Hatter. Please have a nice day and stay in school mad hatter, you need it, REALLY! lol

A small step for man, a smaller step for a Core.11176

A gamer says (11/Nov/2002):
Being a huge AC fan from back in the PP and MoA day, I got passed by on AC2 and jumped straight into this. The controls are excellent, and the core handles much better than the PS1 days. A few complaints I've come across, however... A: too few and too easy levels. We complained about the 'Protect the Airplane' or 'Protect the Transport' on PP when the vehicles died in two hits and we were completely surrounded, like, three missions into the game. That was all replaced with heavily armored vehicles that I found myself shooting at sometimes just to see if they'd die (they do, imagine that). While I appreciate the ability to take a consort into missions now, most of the AI for your partners seem to be overcome easily by things like walls, elevated floors, or anything else they can't walk over. This carries me into my next problem B: AI. AC:MoA, the computer had the amazing ability to stay in the air, dodging missiles and grenades, all the while it was pumping KARASAWA and energy grenades down on top of us. Now, the computer gets stuck behind a pillar and cries itself to sleep. Between the dumb AI and the lack of levels, I've managed to complete the arena, the ex-arena, the actual missions, my parts list, and load up my INTENSIFY in under two days. If it wasn't for the multiplayer feature (and yeah, the four-way games rock in ways words and guns can't describe), I'd have already tossed this game aside and gone back to my good old FM3.

MORE LEVELS MORE LEVELS MORE LEVELS!10980

GrayFox436 from USA says (5/Nov/2002):
There isn't much I can say that hasn't been said allready. As a Master of Ravens and a thrise over Nine Braker who beat AC2 in less than a week I can safely say that AC3 was the best Armored Core game ever to hit the shelves. It has more weapons, new bad-ass part designs and they brought back the arenas and that, my frends, is a good thang. Oh... and don't even get me started on the opening FMV. The cool level designs, improved sound, big-ass robots boosting through the air with guns blazeing and varied missions mixed in with plenty of 1v/s1 in the arenas makes for great stress relief and a welcome change from my usual 2D FPS and RTS games. If I had one big complaint however it would have to be MORE LEVELS MORE LEVELS MORE LEVELS! It only took me two days to beat all the levels in mercenary mode and 4 more days after that to beat all the arenas/extera arenas. Nevertheless this game is a must have for AC fans and great for anybody who likes mecha. Oh, and madhatter, you'er an ideot.

It is the Best out of the Series......10994

NightHawkAe says (5/Nov/2002):
It is by far the best game out of the series. There have been many changes including, the ability to drop weapons and extensions after there ammo is consumed, All parts have been re-designed and i mean check out the cores; they don't all have overboost on them, some come with weapons instead. Also the graphics and sound have increased since the last AC. And of course they re-added the Arena, totally re-designed and better than ever. Yeah i also like the new engine that they are using, and of course no game can be complete without the use of DUALSHOCK! yes finally they added the ability to use analog. Its heaven i tell you. Thats my little review. |_|

newbie but plan to stay!!!10897

talon5105 from McCloud CA says (3/Nov/2002):
this is the first ac game i have played and im hooked. i think having it so the core can be overweight only makes the designing more fun. the opening cinema had me drooling. the arena left me wanting but you hear alot of people saying it way pie and i bet those are the $#< remove me > at ! who got a high ap core with powerful weapon and ran to the corner of the parkinglot.i liked how u could get help if u needed it. As for replay i think thats the one draw back the game need more levels so you could choose what mission to take on a little more. madhater u really need to get your head out of your ass and try this game again.

Very good game, perhaps the best on yet.10863

A gamer from Lawfaytte IN USA says (2/Nov/2002):
AC3 is pretty fun, I like the armored core games (Mabey it's the design your own robot or the mass killing of things). THis game is little diffrent from the 2nd one(The one i played). instead of haveing #'s in the arena they have a-4 or E-15. I can't find anything wrong with it, except 1 thing. NO GOOD CHEAT CODES. I don't want to drop a weapon i want money! After a misson when you take out AC repairs and ammo you get very little money, other than that the game is great

the best one yet, definitely.... who is this madhatter guy? Bet he only has 3 teeth...10640

Githonel from Blueield, VA, US of A says (25/Oct/2002):
This was definitely the best AC yet... My favorite part of the game was always trying to create the best legal AC's to compete aginst my friend's cheap-as-butt AC's... the only gripe I have is that the Karasawa gun was really heavy... but then this was the first game where i've been able to find it, so i guess maybe it's always been that way? And anyway, madhatter is a fag, the missions rocked, and the visual appeal of the parts was really great... there was (and if it didn't stick out so much i wouldn't mention it) a lot of differences between the ways the different company's parts looked. i always liked that, it made the whole thing more believable. and I also like how you can unequip your plus abilities... so you don't have to always be a loser, you can only be a loser when you're really pissed at the game or your buddy over there... and i'm the only guy i know who actually bothers to look for plus abilities... then i use them on somebody and they don't know what happened... and the opening sequence was definitely the best yet. i love how they show off the new features of the game in the opening sequences. yeah... armored core rocks my face off.

I just love figthing robots10591

m xtra from Greenville, NC, US says (23/Oct/2002):
I think this game is great. I love the arean part and think that the graphics on this one is good. I wish that there was a co-op part so that me and my friend could go crazy on the computer. Other than that this is a great game and am looking forward to the next one. Oh the madhatter is one dumbass. He must be some lonely virgin living in cave beating off to porn all day.

Getting there/complainers10313

Dishonor from CA says (15/Oct/2002):
Armored core 3 is the second best next to Masters of Arena.(moa had the create your own arena.) AC 3 gives great reply to soild fans of the series. Gaining more parts to buy as you progress thourgh the game seems more right then having everything handed out at the start. I feel that if I find a part it adds more of a feel of acomplishment to the game. If someone complains about not liking the game its almost always because they expect success to be brought to them on a silver platter. The only real problems with the game is that they did not push the ps2 to its limits. Such as in Final Fantasy X where they to spend the time polishing the graphics and tweaking a few minor problems such as computer AI they would give the game more of a appeal to gamers who gripe and complain about how stupid a game is. For those who are like that rent before you buy. Save yourself the time and effort required to bug your parents to take you to the mall and do something useful like help feed the poor.

best AC yet10315

A gamer from MA, USA says (15/Oct/2002):
This is the best AC that I've played. I've beaten the previous two (AC2, and AC2:AA) with some ease, and this is going to be a tough one to get through. The one thing that I don't like about the game is the set up of the garage. I think you should be able to sell parts in the shop, instead of in the assembly. Also, you should be able to sell cores without having to buy another one first. That is just annoying. But everything else is superb. The action is great, and I especially like the "arena" aspect. That is a lot of fun, and helpful in developing tactics for the missions. I hope that they'll come out with an add on to this one. Quick tip: I've found that building up your OP first is a better option. It lets you do more damage (obviously) and also, in most instances shortens battle or mission times, resulting in less time for your AC to get damaged. Also, dont buy the most expensive equipment, especially FCS. They're not always better.

More Great AC Combat10325

A gamer from Somewhere, Florida says (15/Oct/2002):
I read madhatter's review on this and I think he was right about one thing (if nothing else) the weapons do seem a little rehashed. BUT WHO CARES? They still work fine don't they? Personally I don't like how the arena was too easy. I dropped the top ten, and Exile in one try each. Other than that the game was fun to play with it's more varied missions, consorts, and more AC fights in missions. Agetec should release another one following this formula.

Robot Destruction At It's Finest10023

E-Down from San Diego, CA says (4/Oct/2002):
I was very pleased with how From Software has progressed the Armored Core series thus far, as I also own all the games the series, even the PS-One versions. The opening cinema is excellent and the graphics are super sharp. The way the light and visual effects bounce off the core are astounding. The sound effects are top-notch, and the way they revamped the weapons really adds a nice touch. I like the fact that you have to replay certain missions to unlock new abilities and parts, as opposed to losing a thousand times as in previous AC titles. The dropping of parts and the Exceed Orbit additions are cool as hell, and the option of hiring consorts is neat. Kudos to From Software to making overweight cores act, well...overweight. However, I just wish you could (in tradition of all AC games) upload data from the previous titles, and change the buttons around a bit more. It would have been nice to, for example, use the R3 button to look up AND down. I always hated aerial combat in Armored Core for this. Other than that, it's an excellent game and the multiplayer battles really show off how good you are at piloting an AC against human idiots or the underhanded-ass computer AI. If I could have just ONE wish, I wish that From Software would implement multiplayer missions into the ACTUAL game, not on the side, i.e., Another Age, and that way you could hire human players or COM players with your own AC designs to accompany you on missions! That way you could use your own creations on a mission with you or through another player! It's always nice to dream....C'mon Agetec!!

This is urufu and i read your neat reveiews but madhatter is a wuss9985

Urufu Reijuu from Planet Sadaria says (2/Oct/2002):
hey people i havent played AC3 yet but i got a good feeling its good but i checked this site out and pause at madhatters review...if you dont like the game dont play it besides your cheap man you need to be wise about you Ac's weight and probly your own LOL But from all the pilots i met on the web so far im the only pilot with a tread ac the acually knows how to pilot one like a ace. but im still not sure though am i the only person that likes using treads? i hope they make a online version so i can find out. but about those four legged Ac's i heard about that sounds neat. oh and in case your wondering about my ac is name is MATRIX it has black base and grey trim it usually has a laser rifle then a grenade launchers and vertical missiles. but in AC3 it may change i dont know yet but its going to be good and with a multi tap my friends can join in a rumble with me but they probly team up against me first LOL ^_^"

Dragon from lavon texas says (28/Sep/2002):
This was the BEST armored core i have played. I own all 6 of them. And they DID change alot in the AC3. you just have bad taste. your a wuss for wanting the over weight cheat, i could beat you with an under weight core. its not about what you got its about what you can do. and aparently you cant do nothing of use. You have to cheat to win. Thats extremly pathetic.
