Kingdom Hearts Is Perfect!!!!! Play It NOW If You Havent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!46694

Tommy G. from Broomfield, CO says (27/Jul/2007):
Before, I have told you that I do frequently put new reviews on Station Play for Kingdom Hearts, therefore you know, that is if you do read these reviews often, that I could not be happier with Kingdom Hearts! That it is my favorite game, and all that, you must be thinking, if you realize I put a lot of reviews on and actually read them that I usually say the same stuff, you’re right, I do, I usually have the same stuff to say, but this should show the people who haven’t played this game, that I love this game so much, that I spend a lot of time on it, and not jut playing it but trying to get other people to try it. Usually when I do convince somebody, they usually stick with it! And this doesn’t mean I don’t have a life, that I just obsess about Kingdom hearts all the time, I don’t, but I still love it!!!!! That shouldn’t mean that I can’t be the #1 fan (which I am of course, as I have stated in many of my reviews, and I don’t want to here any of that “he isn’t the #1 fan! I am!!!” because it is not true, please, spare us your whiney comments, this time, I wont write an entire review on how I am the biggest Kingdom Hearts fan, I have said all of it before, so I will stop here) Now I will tell you people who haven’t played this greatest game of all time, a little bit about it, I will also give more of my opinions on the game, and again, for those poor people who haven’t had the pleasure of playing yet, a basic summery about it, I will tell what happens a little in the story, but if you don’t want to know, I will warn you before the summery. I will do basic stuff like that, and don’t worry, as I’ve said before, I will not go on about me being the #1 fan, if you would like to here about it (which I am almost positive you don’t) I have other reviews that mentioned it, I think I have 2 devoted to it. I am sure most people wont want to read those, maybe except the other people who say they are the #1 fans, just to see what I need to say. But I said I wouldn’t talk about that so I wont, I am going to talk about how people should try it and how awesome it is first then the summery, then I will talk about the sequels and more about how you might like it or not, stuff like that. Then I will d what I am supposed to do and talk about WHAT makes the game SO great! I will end with some sort of lame short conclusion basically summing up what I said. But I’m sure you don’t want to hear what I am GOING to talk about, I think you want me to TALK about what I am going to talk about.

So, this game is, as many MANY people have mentioned, FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!! If you haven’t, you should give it a try! You will love it, unless you are one of those people who wouldn’t know a good game if it hit them in the face. But most people who I convince to try it, like it, as I said before. I think most people who are recommended to this game will like it, depending on your style. I mean, don’t think you will like this if you hate Disney and DESPISE aneme type stuff. Well, I’ll admit…I HATE HATE HATE!!!!!!!!! ANEME!!!!!!! HATE IT!!!!!!!!! But I still love LOVE LOVE kingdom Hearts, How is this possible? Well, I don’t really consider this game ‘aneme’. Although a lot of people do. But if you too, HATE aneme, and are thinking this game will be stupid because it is aneme-ish, well, think of this, do think, someone like me who HATES aneme, would have it as his Fav. game if it was a lot of aneme? NO! besides, I LOVE Disney,
And if you do consider this aneme-ish, therefore not wanting the game, if you have a love for Disney, like me, then it will all balance out, trust me….Well, If you hate both aneme AND Disney, you probably shouldn’t bother with this game, im sure as long as you like one of the 2, you will like this game. It really is good, you should try it out. And don’t be embaressed to admit to liking Disney movies, a lot of people like it but are embaressed to admit it, it is AWESOME and you know it, and lets say you don’t, you don’t think there is a TINY bit of yourself that says “well….the little mermaid is kind of cute” or “wow, the lion king is pretty cool” or ANYTHING!!!?!?!?!?!?! Just give it a try, you know you like it. SO many people think it is AWESOME!!!!!!!! The cool people like Kingdom Hearts, you should join them! JUST TRY IT!!!!!!!! And if you don’t like it, you don’t need to keep playing it!!!!! But I think, before you play it, you will want to know a little about what it is ABOUT!!!!!!!! Why play a game you have no idea what it is about, so I will do something I thing most people don’t do in their reviews, something they should do for people looking for games to buy. I guess I will be the one to do it! It wont be very good but, whatever…..

Kingdom hearts, I have told you are the best game ever, I never really told you what it is about. It all begins were sora and his 2 friends Riku and Kairi are curious about "other worlds" and want to go there, they start by making a raft were you need to collect items for them. Riku has the reputation of being better than sora and they are competitive about it. They both like kairi but are kind of unknowing at the time. When the raft is finished. One night, the night before they leave (don’t worry this level isnt very long) there is a storm that get riku and sora go out to save the raft, neither knows were kiri is, riku decides to be adventurous and go into the darkness, knowing it will take him to new worlds, after he leaves, a keyblade chooses sora as his master so he becomes the keyblade master, the most supream weapon. (It also unlocks almost anything, don’t worry, it is a key for a reason eventually) all these strange black creatures appear and attack him. Once he goes to their secret place he finds kairi, were a big...thing... blows her towards sora, and as he goes to catch her she kinda blows through him like a ghost. (This has significance later) After defeating a giant heartless, he appears in a new world, with Pluto, as you know is Mickey mouse’ss dog, licking his face, but runs away. Now here, don’t be thrown off because it seems like it is all about squarsoft type characters including some from the stupid game final fantasy. Don’t bee, it gets different. After looking around and finding out alot about the keyblade from leon and yuffie, including that the heartless are drawn to it, he also has the choice to practice magic with merlin, i usually dont. Now i will get into less detail, the important info was given, but i will still go in SOME detail. Now he goes to Alice in wonderlands world were he defeats a monster, saves Alice, fights the queen and wander around. He actually saved her from the queen but not from the heartless, so she is gone. You also lock a keyhole with the keyblade, the keyhole is of the world so now it is locked, which is good. He goes to Hercules world were al you do is go to the coliseum all the time to win another battle. ( through out the game there are more and they get harder, at the end you fight Hades) so that is an ongoing world, at the end you lock the key hole as you do after you beat every world. Now I will go into even less detail, then he OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHH! I forgot to tell you something major important, Donald and goofy were sent to help him so the three of you are together the whole game. so, then he Donald and goofy go to Tarzans world and fights Clayton at the end locks the key hole, oh, another important detail, you always receive a new keyblade after you beat a world, themed to that world, some you need to come back to get near the middle or end. Ok, I don’t want to spoil the games anymore than I have, so I will just tell you go to several world that are Disney, except Halloween town from nightmare before x-mas which is not a Disney. you go to worlds like Pinocchio, peter pan, Aladdin......... and you eventually go to hallow bastion were maleficent, the mistress of evil, lives and after spending the game making riku evil, he is taken over by the worst villain ever, ansem, so you fight riku and ansem alot, and the heartless world is the last. I am leaving out so many cool details because if I told you, it would ruin the game! So just play it! You will find out everything!!!!!!! You would already know, I am telling you now, IT IS GREAT!!!!!! YOU GOTTA TRY IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE!!!!!! JUST TRY IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So that was just a little summery for those of you who were wondering. Those details I left out are really cool and makes the game even cooler!!!!! And then when you are done with this game, you can play Kingdom Hearts 2 were more secrets are told and makes the plot more interesting and complicated! REALLY COOL!!!! It is like those things in books were you read the rest of the series and like at the 3rd book you go “OMG!!!!!!! SO-AND-SO WAS DOING BLAH BLAH BLAH BECAUSE HE WASN’T ACTUALLY HIM BUT IT WAS SO-AND-SO!!!!!! OMG!!!!!!!! THAT IS SO WEIRD!!!! ALL THIS TIME THAT WAS SO-AND-SO!!!!!!” Ya’ know those types of really cool things, there are a lot of throes in Kingdom Hearts 2 and that is why I am so exited for Kingdom Hearts 3!!!! I cant wait to see what else joins the plot!!!!!!! WOW!!!!! Now back to Kingdom Hearts (the first). If this sounds…..not so great, it is probably my summery, I skipped a lot and made it sound less cool than it was, if it sounds cool, you are probably going to LOVE this game, if it sounded kinda bad, you will probably like it, if it sounded COMPLETELY stupid! Then you will want to probably avoid it, but you still might want to give it a try. I think every one should at least TRY it! But if you are going to try it to get the feel for the game to see if you like it…….you should probably play, a little ways in, I mean, at least get to Aladdin’s world, that will give you the true feeling of the game, DON’T just play the first 2 or 3 levels! You MUST do more to see if you like this game or not, of course, the game, I think is more fun as it goes along, like…I mean….i like the 2nd half of the game just a TINY TINY TINY TINY bit more than the first, I think it is best aladdins world on, not to say destiny islands to traverse town the 2nd time is bad, I still LOVE it!

Now I will give some small opinions about the game, not like “it is AWESOME!!!” or “the best game EVER!!!!”, I mean more like…..” well, the graphics were…” or “ The music was…” That kind of stuff, what I am sure StationPlay WANTS people to put on their reviews. So I will, besides, it will give buyers REASONS why the game is SO FANTASTIC!!!!!!!! I know if I was trying to find out if the game was good or not, I would be frustrated, and would think “this game is AWESOME!!!!” isn’t the kind of info I wanted, especially not things like “I am the biggest fan” or “sora is so cute” or irrelevant things like that, so I think I will try to give more reasons, as I have done before, but I will do it again, like I said, as long as I am making a review for Kingdm Hearts and spending SO much time on it, I better make it a good one!

So…lets start with the first thing you see when shopping for a game……the cover of course. I LOVE this cover. It is unique, cool, represents the game, but still leave a lot for the back to tell, the contrast of light and dark, the graphics of it, every thing is just AWESOME!!!!!! I love it, I am sure by this time you have already seen the cover, I mean, if you are reading this review, I am positive you have! I hope you think the same about the WONDERFUL cover! Then, what is the next thing you see, the title, a very important part, the title needs to be original, it needs to sound cool, relatively few words, it needs to be extravagant, yet you need to be able to say it with ease. I think the title possesses all of the above! I mean, think about the title for just a minute………..”Kingdom Hearts”………….. it is SUCH a cool title! I mean, they could have picked a large variety of dumb names…..like…… “kingdom of Hearts” or “Heart Kingdom” or “ king of hearts” or not even those types of words, for all we know, they could have named it…………mmmmmmm……..i dunno…………something unoriginal…….sounds stupid………like a baby game……..so…..blah…….like “Disney Worlds: Soras Adventure”…….. Yes, that……how many people do you think would by this game? Hhhhhmmmmmm……????? That’s what I thought, I for one wouldn’t! that is why the title is so important!!!! They picked a good one. I a m SO happy with it!

This game is SO original!!!!! I have said it SO many times but how many times do you see a game with disney mixed in and someone using a magic key for a sword? Huh? I know what alsot of you are thinking, “how can a game be original if it is bases of of something else? Well, it doesn’t follow they storys of disney event by event, besides, a lot of the times, sora comes AFTER the movie. Some things aren’t so original but a lot of stories use those spisific things for a story, it is almost necessary! Like…the boy saveing the girl after defeating the bad guy, maybe throw in a few cheesy things, it cant ALL be TOTALLY original, I mean, almost nothing is 100% original. How can it? This story line is a lot better than most, my sister who doent really play the game and HATES disney and aneme and doesn’t really like the game that much admits, she loves the plot/storyline! That’s pretty good!

I LOVE the music for Kingdom Hearts! It is SO much better than other games were there is basically a constantly playing song, a fighting song, a theme song and MAYBE one other. Nope, Kingdom Hearts has a different song for almost EVERY occasion, even being in a different world, fighting major bosses doesn’t always have the same music playing. All together, there are over 65 songs I think, and I have them all in my iPod! That’s how much I love it!!! And one of my favorite all time songs in “simple and clean” ESPECIALLY the remix!!!!! Talk about quality music! Even my sister LOVES that song, in fact, one of my cousins who is a skater who isn’t into songs like that also LOVE that song, some adults I know who don’t even play the game love it too!!! Now, onto the graphics. Most of my friends saw they could defiantly be better, I sort of agree, but they are actually pretty good. Not exactly stunning, like it says on the back of the case, but still good, not great good, it makes up with sound quality and a higher fun level than any other game I know!!!!!!! Not to mention they have most of the original Disney Voices.

So, I said I would do a SMALL conclusion…I will Basically, What I was trying to do was convince you people to play it, give it a try! PLEASE!!!!!!! So many people say it is awesome!!!!!!! Believe them if you wont believe me! Not only is this game fun, but also cool and funny! It has Disney in it, which I love! And just the right amount of Squaresoft characters, enough so it SHARES the spotlight with Disney but doesn’t overpower it! It also doesn’t fall under Disney’s shadow, they share it perfectly! As long as you like one of them, you will like Kingdom hearts. This game is addictive and fun! It is exiting and action packed yet still has a soft side, you can be sticking a sword in maleficent one minute and the next be catching honey for pooh! It is versatile and amazing!! You Must try Kingdom Hearts!!!!!! And when you are done with that you can play Kingdom Hearts 2, then when it comes out,Kingdom Hearts 3!!! It is SSSOOO exiting!!!!!!!! I cant stop thinking about it now, I would have made this review SO much longer but it has gotten me SSSOOO exited to play Kingdom Hearts that I will go down and play it now! The last piece of advice is………..PLAY KINGDOM HEARTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Holy game of KH46694

blue moose from clarkesville, mini-wah-wah says (28/Apr/2004):
I’ve said it before, and it bears repeating: Squaresoft has one of the best records in gaming. Sure, there have been a couple pratfalls with games like The Bouncer or Driving Emotion Type-S, but for every one of those stinkers, there are at least a couple games on the same level as Final Fantasy X. Front Mission 3, Chrono Cross, Final Fantasy Tactics; Square can still deviate from the traditional RPG mold and crank out a quality title.

Kingdom Hearts just happens to be another one of those quality titles. At its heart, the game is your basic action/adventure game with RPG elements mixed in. Even without the Disney characters, it would still be worth checking out, but then of course there’d be no real hook, as Kingdom Hearts doesn’t just use the Disney backdrop as some sort of cheap façade for a typical Square adventure. Quite the opposite, in fact; this IS a Disney game, first and foremost, and it’s an impressive one at that, managing to cull an astonishing amount of Disney lore, from music to storyline details to original voice actors to, of course, characters. Over 100 of them scattered throughout the 30 or so hour trip, and plenty of cameo treats for Final Fantasy fans to boot. Going into it, you don’t need to know anything about past Square efforts to get anything out of the game, though just like the Disney elements, if you’re steeped a bit in both traditions, you’ll really soak up more of the game and walk away with a much more rewarding experience.

Trying to explain how the collision of Disney and Square worlds interact is a bit like trying to explain a TV show to someone from the 19th century, but I’ll try. The key, I suppose, is understanding that in Kingdom Hearts, the worlds you’ll encounter (nine of them pulled from Disney movies) all exist as if none of the others existed. Tarzan has never met Donald Duck, Aladdin has never seen Winnie The Pooh, etc., etc. Imagine what would happen if all of these worlds, though, were suddenly linked, and while the characters in the worlds can’t necessarily jump to another, someone that existed outside of them could freely hop from world to world with no difficulty. Now imagine if there was an evil force devoid of hearts that was slowly swallowing up each of these worlds and you have a pretty good idea of the antagonist side of Kingdom Hearts.

This is exactly what’s taking place when a young boy, Sora, and his best friends Riku and Kairi, have their plans of leaving their island paradise interrupted by an attack from these Heartless creatures. It turns out that Sora has a much bigger place in the grand scheme of things, and after an encounter with the Heartless, he and his friends are pulled from their world and separated. Sora soon meets up with Donald and Goofy, who have been sent out by King Mickey to find the bearer of a “keyblade,” which Sora has recently inherited. Once they hook up, the story quickly shifts into a quest to both stem the tide of Heartless streaming into these Disney worlds, and a search for Sora’s friends. Still following me? Good, cause that’s about as much of the story I can explain without giving anything away. Suffice it to say the tradition of great storytelling on Square’s part continues in classic form here.

As I said before, Kingdom Hearts much like a traditional action RPG. Combat takes place in free-roaming real-time. Sora wields the keyblade like a natural, comboing into attack strings with a couple presses of the X button. He’s capable of using magic in now-classic Square naming conventions (blizzard, blizzara, blizzaga), either via the on-screen menu or with a press of the L1 button and X, triangle or O. Special attacks, rolls and a couple other moves can be activated from the on-screen menu or a press of the square button. The controls take almost no time to get used to, and this pick-up-and-play feel is bolstered by familiar RPG elements like experience and levels, increases in attack, defense and abilities. For those wondering, nope, you can’t control anyone but Sora, but it’s fun to watch the other characters duke it out, and you can customize the AI to play a certain way (healer, attacker, etc.) to gel better with your particular style.

Kingdom Hearts is a pretty game, but it’s not especially flashy. There’ll be no confusing this with some of the more flamboyant previous efforts like Final Fantasy X or even The Bouncer. In classic Square fashion, the game is replete with effects work, however, and it simply helps to solidify my belief that nobody -- and I do mean nobody -- knows how to do more with a simple spell or item use than Squaresoft’s artists. The models are clean and detailed, but not exceptionally so, since they really need to mix with the animated-looking denizens of every world (though it is cool to see how their wardrobe changes with each world to blend in and not arouse suspicion from the locals; wait till you see the characters when they get to The Nightmare Before Christmas’ Halloween Town). Textures are quite varied and detailed when the need calls for it (which isn’t too often because of the general cartoony feel of the game), and it still amazes me that there’s not a single loading screen anywhere in the game. No two worlds look anything alike, and stay very, very true to the feel of their respective movies.

It’s not really the graphics that concern me, though, it’s the camera. It’s been a while since I’ve had as much trouble getting the camera to look where I want. It’s not a constant tug-of-war war with the camera like, say, Mario Sunshine, since for the most part the camera goes where it should on its own. It’s when you have to take a look at something that’s not caught by the normal camera movement that you suddenly enter a Hemmingway-eque Old Man and the Sea-type struggle. The camera moves around you quick enough when you’re in the open, but when it bumps up against an object, it functions almost like the characters, slooooooooooooooooooooowly rubbing against the object and at times getting completely hung up on a wall. What’s worse, sweeping the camera around to the left or right is handled with the L2 and R2 buttons, while the right analog stick is largely unused (it comes into play when you need to make menu selections while on the move, but that’s almost something that could have been done with the L2 and R2 buttons instead. I wish I could say it wasn’t something that detracted from the gameplay, but the fact that you’ll have to wrestle with it whenever you want a difference vantage point really does hurt the whole experience. It should be noted, though, that there are couple really cool shots during the cinematics, stuff that tends to stray from more traditional static or dolly-like movements found in most game cinemas.

Ahhh, and then there’s the sound. There’s been a bit of drama surrounding Utada Hikari’s song, the title of which I can’t even now mention, but I can tell you that it kicks mucho butt, and is woven into a couple separate pieces in the game quite well. Yoko Shimamura’s choices in world music run the gamut from annoying (there’s only so many times you can hear a weak rendition of “Under The Sea” before you start to go slightly mad) to fantastic, but usually fall somewhere in the middle. Not bad, but not especially memorable either. Oddly enough, the more dramatic parts and orchestrally scored pieces are incredibly moving, and while it probably wouldn’t have meshed as well with the Disney worlds, I almost find myself wishing there was more to hear when you weren’t being hit with a major plot revelation. Ah well, less is more, I suppose.

Perhaps most indicative of everything they’ve accomplished with Kingdom Hearts is Square’s efforts to faithfully recreate a bevy of Disney worlds out though absolutely killer voice work and a translation that feels incredibly true to the Disney movies. Sure, there are a few quirky Japanese sound effects and some stuff that just doesn’t translate all that well, but overall you’ll get a very authentic feel with each of the characters, something that is due in no small part to the fact that in almost every case, the voice work is dead-on, often using the same actors that appeared in the movies or TV shows. What’s more, it seems the choices in a few key actors were perfectly decided. Sorry, but you just aren’t going to be able to find someone that does a good enough impression of Gilbert Gottfried or James Woods to be true the character unless you get the real voice. Plenty of big-name actors donated their celeb status and pipes to a couple roles, most notably the Square characters that make cameos (Mandy Moore as Aeris! Many More as Aeris!), and of course the three new Disney characters (that’d be Sora, Riku and Kairi for those that need a refresher) that the story centers around.

Hey, I’ll admit it; I had my doubts about how Kingdom Hearts would turn out. It’s the gaming industry’s version of The Odd Couple -- Square and Disney -- but the combo couldn’t have turned out better. I mean that. I really don’t think anyone else could have woven as complex and enthralling a story into such enjoyable gameplay and kept it as true to both Square and especially Disney fans. It is important to make the distinction though, so listen up. This is Disney game with Square characters, not the other way around. Disney fans will freak when they see how many characters are brought in, and the way they’re incorporated into the gameplay is so classically Square that long time fans of the developer will get an extra chuckle or two. Heck, even the difficulty feels right; challenging (perhaps too much so for the younger crowd, but then they probably won’t get the story anyway) but still doable, and the sense of accomplishment after you finally get through with the epic boss battle at the end is one of the best treats a gamer can get.

Sprint as fast as possible to your nearest games store to pick this game up next month, and if you haven’t pre-ordered a copy, maybe it’s time you took the time to plop down the cash for it ahead of time. That’s that much less time between you getting it into your hands and into your PS2.

The Best Game In The History Of The Game System!!!!!!!46529

Tommy from Broomfield, CO, USA says (27/Mar/2007):
I cannot see why a person can dislike this perfect game! I mean everything about it is to good to resist! When I play it, it is hard for me to get off because the game is so fun and interesting that I want to beat the whole game again and restart! I have beaten the game for the 23 time recently! It is not because I am bord, it is because the game is just to fun! But because I have played it so many times, It has become a "Day beat" were i can compleat the game in a day. That doen not mean this game IS a day beat and when youu buy it and take it home, you only enjoy it for 1 day! It just means I have played It so much I just get it done FAST. But it doent even need to mean you only enjoy it for 1 day if it is a day beat for you on the first try, You can still do what I do and play it over and over and over and over and een alternating between Kingdom Hearts 2 and Kingdom Hearts.

If I ever heard someone in the halls at school say the did not like kingdom hearts, i would go up to there face and start asking them why! They usually dont even give very good reasons for not liking it. If I ever heard someone saying good things about it, i would go up to them and say that I agree. One of my friends just beat Kingdom Hearts for the first time. I love it when people talk to me about Kingdom Hearts! But it was cool to finaly talk to a person about my love for the game and not just the station play people (That is pretty much how far it will go, a different person hasnt put a reviw on this website (At least for kingdom hearts)since april of 2006! IT IS MARCH OF 2007 NOW!!!!!!!)well anyway, we talked about everything from ansem to how the end made her cry!

Every time I think about Kingdom Hearts, that is all i think about for a while. It is so addicting! I love talking about kingdom hearts and playing it especially and just anything about it! It is such a fun game to play and the whole thing is just so great to play!I like figting with a sword, I know alot of people prefer guns but if you know some thecniques on how to use the keyblade, it is accually alot of fun! I like how magig with the key blade is not a NORMAL attack. It is just a few times and I think that is good because it isnt always magic but you have the choice to use alot or alittle. I usually try to save my magic for Curing myself. I also sometimes use magic for a person who is hard to reach or sometimes for the very end of defeating a villan.

the whole concept of a KEY BLADE is really cool!I think it is not a rediculouse idea. It might seem that way but it is accually not a bad idea at all! I think useing a sword is better han a gun. It is not only because of that. I also like the idea that this is a magical object. Ithink It is good it isnt TOO magical, like i said before. it has just a little bit. I like how it ca unlock almost any lock! And the whole idea of not only that each disney movie gets its own "World", but that each one has a hidden keyhole of its own that will protect it when locked. It is so cool how sora needs to go around locking them! That brings me to my next topic about Origionality and story lines and plots! It is one of the best qualitys of this outstanding game!

I once talked to a person who didnt really like kingdom hearts and that you need to use a sword like thing as your weapon. They dont like disney or aneme or anything that made up Kingom Hearts, but they did say that the story line was good and that was the only good part. That is a pretty big part. I dont agreee that that is the ONLY good part but it is one of the most important!I think the idea (I know ive said this before) of a key blade master going from world to world 9Disney worlds, i love disney) and fighting to eventually defeat the villan of that world and unlock the keyhole for that particular world. I also like that the king is Micky Mouse! Well, who better to be the king, he was the first! I think that disney and sqarsoft mixed together nicly! It worked so well!If it did not work well, there would be no point in mixing the 2. I still dont think square soft IMPROVES Disney, NO WAY! Disney was the best! That is probably the biggest reason I like this game, but that doesnt mean if you dont like disney, you wont lik ethis game!

That last statment brings me to this next topic. You dont need to like Disney to like this game. It does help if you like disney, but lets say you love aneme or final fantast, but hate disney, that means you can still probably like the game. If you LOVE disney but HATE aneme and final fantasy, you still will LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!! Like I do! If you are a person who loves aneme and final fantasy but stuill equallly love disney, I would say there is no game in the world more suited for you than Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts 2!It would be your DREAM GAME!!!!! however, i hate aneme ssssoooooooo much but this is still my favorite game! Im sure it could go the other way to! I mean there is this person at school who doent care about disney but LOVES ANEME! This is also here favorite game! Also, square soft has been known for making good games but disney has been known to make everything fun! together, they make such a fantastic game that you cant even compare it to any other game!

The only thing i accually think they could have improved just alittle on ere the graphics. they were good, but i think they could have done just alittle better, like they did for Final Fantsy. I did not like final fantasy but i really gotta say thoes graphics were so cool! I wish they could have applied the same effort into Kingdom hearts as they did for many other games (I am not saying the other games are better, i am just saying the graphics are better. But what does it really matter? it is a fun game right? As long as we enjoy ourselves, the graphics dont really matter. It is a fantastic game and it wouldnt make the game any more fun than it already was if it had better graphics. It would be the same game, with better graphics, thats all! You know, they werent even that bad!

The song, Simple and clean was a pretty good song. I like both the remix and origional. They both have different moods. The tune to it was cool too. But that is just the begining and end, the rest were not bad either! I liked how there was not just 1 theme song to Kingdom hearts like some other games have. There is always a new song. Each world has a different song to get you feeling in thge mood of that world. They also change when you are in battle to a more... fast beat song that really puts you in the mood of the moment of not just being in that world but also that you are in battle too. It gets me in the mood. During 'Emotional" scenes they play a soft, slow beat song to also get you in the mood. But that is not all! They also play even different music when you are fighting a amjhor villan and thoese can also sometimes change. The whole idea of all of this is that it adds the mood of each moment!

More about the sound, not much but there is one more little catagory of the soung that i would like to point out, Most of the origional voices from the real disney movies came back to do Kingdom Hearts, not all of them, im sure they are busy, but it was nice not to have someone pretending to be anothewr person, it sounds so stupid if it isnt JUST RIGHT. Sometimes they do impersenate them good but typicaly, it sounds really bad! It wouldnt have that feel of disney if they had fake voices for someone, what if malificent had a slightly deeper or high piched voice or just any difference at all! It wouldnt sound like the reall malificent, it would sound lik ea fonny. it was nice to have the REALL (mostly) voices for the characters! Then it wouldnt seem like reall disney and disney is the best part, in my opinion, about Kingdom hearts.

BY THE WAY, TO ANYONE WHO SAYS THIS GAME IS REALLY BAD AND SAYS EVERYONE WHO SAYS IT IS NOT BAD HAS NO REASONS WHY IT IS SO GOOD, WELL I THINK YOU ARE THE ONES WHO DONT GIVE EXAMPLES OF WHY IT IS BAD! I mean you say this stoty ISNT origional, that it has been done before, WELL, I CANT REMEMBER A SINGLE TIME WHEN I HEARD A STORY OF A BOY KILLING HIS ENEMIES WITH A KEY! WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU HEARD A STORY LIKE THAT? NEVER!!!!!!! What is wrong with you people!!!!!!!!???????????? You are the ones with no reasoning (Well, not GOOD reasoning).Look at alot of the reviews who give 10 stars! they have super long lists of reasons why it IS good! Look at the #1 logest review for Kingdom hearts, or atleasyt the top few who say it is great, they have SOOO many reasons why it is SOOOO good! Why dont you people think before you say something! This STORY IS BRILLIANT!!!!!!!!!!! SO ORIGIONAL!just wanted to get that out of the way.

Now then, were were we, ok, I think i will just end this here and say thank you to any one who read this and I hope i ve convinced you that this is a FANTASTIC GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!! Because it is, it is nearly perfect, better than most of the junk that is out there. The only possible flaw i found were the graphics, and thoese arent even THAT BAD! Anyone who thinks this is a stupid game seriously, must have mental issues! It is the best game in the history of the game system!

Takes third place for worst game ever made.42415

AkaRai from Brownsville, Texas, U.S.A. says (2/Sep/2004):
To all those reviewers saying every section of it rules, give some reasons instead of just blankly stating they do.

Let's start with graphics, many have said this game has good graphics. In truth, it only has *okay* graphics in thw beginning, and ending cinema. The graphics throughout the rest of the game are sub-standard. Square made FFX a good two years before KH, and it had far better graphics than KH. When you consider it was made byt he same company, two years earlier, and has better graphics than KH, it shows they didn't put alot of focus into it.

Next, let's tackle the story. I keep hearing "BRILLIANT STORY OMG" To this I say, shut up. It's a brilliant story if you're 12, and have never heard it before, but believe me, it's been done. It's the story of a boy traveling world to world, defeating a boss in each, with the eventual goal of defeating the main baddie, and rescuing a girl. We've seen this in all of the Mario games, Donkey Kong, Double Dragon, many of the Final Fantasy games, Kung-Fu, Lunar: SSSC, Toki, well.. you get the idea. I could go on for hours. And even the very first Mario accomplished this done-to-death story better than KH. Because at least, back then it was original.

Then you have the Heartless. Could there be a more simplistic, or childishly designed villain? "OMG, they're like.. dark... and destructive... and they have no heart... so um... since they're dark.. and have no heart... they're the Heartless!!!" I could have come up with a better concept when I was 5. Hell, set a chicken in front of a type writer, and it would too.

Next is the actual gameplay. Do you all forget the aggrivatingly idiotic camera? The near uselessness of your A.I. allies? Do you forget how more often you would die because you were trying to heal, or use a spell, then from actually fighting? The whole system was half assed.

Then there are the mini games. Notice you see the outside of the Gummi ship but once, and then only the interior after that? Let's talk about the Dalmations, because that's a prime example of how thrown together this whole game was. Every time we save them, it's the exact same thing. The box opens, and we hear the message "three dalmations have just been sent home." That's great, but why always three? Why not 2, or 4? Why can't we actually SEE them go home, instead of just being given a message? Maybe tell us why they're there, or how they got there? Why can't there be soem variety to it? Maybe we could win them in a battle at the arena. Maybe we could buy one as a rare.

Next, let's look at the voice actor cast. Square/Disney could have chosen professional, established voice actors, who had experience in the voice acting community. Did they? No. They hired pop stars. Mandy Moore, Haley Joel Osment, Lance Bass, David Boreonas, Billy Zane... These people weren't chosen because they had voice acting experience, they were chosen on name recognition. That's another problem of this game, the whole thing is hype.

As to the music... I can't get very technical on this, as really all I have with the music is my opinion, but it sucked outright in my opinion. High pitched, sappy pop music, with lyrics that made absolutely no sense translated into english. "Simple and Clean is the way that you're making me feel tonight..." What? As opposed to "Complicated and Dirty"? And let's not forget the Nightmare Before Christmas world. That movie was a musical, a musical with a score by Danny Elfman, known for such works as Batman, Edward Scissorhands, Men in Black, Beetlejuice, and countless, countless other works. The man is a master. Did they use him for the NBC world? No. That ruined the entire effect of it. They didn't use the original composer of what was made as a musical. It was NBC without a soul.

Speaking of soul-lessness though, let's talk about the big problem. Square bastardized all of the FF characters. Every single one of them was warped, and changed to match their new environment in a way that made NO sense.

KH is a children's game. Deny it all you want, but the game is rated E for a reason. You know how Goofy holds a shield? You want to know why? Originally he was to carry a sword, but Disney said that was too violent, and they never wanted any images of Goofy brandishing a sharp object. Why? Because the target audience is children.

Here's where the bastardization comes in... All the FF games are rated T. The characters, and stories in them are decidedly adult. So why take chain smokers, People who curse compulsively, and mass murderers, and stuff them with Dumbo, Bambi, and Winnie the Pooh? Each and every FF character was completely and utterly changed. All of them. And I can show you a side by side comparison of each and every character, including Sephiroth. I'm just going to cover four big ones here. The fact is, they completely forsaked their stories as well. Each character here has a completely different story, and behaves completely different than they did before.

Let's start with Cloud. What did they do to him that's so aggrivating? Look at his claw, and scarf. They combined him with Vincent. They just took two characters, slapped them together, and pretended they were one. Then, what's with the bandages on his sword? Is it broken? Seems to me that would make the sword completely useless in battle. Sort of like welding steel over the barrel of a gun.

Then let's take Cid from FF7. In FF7 he cursed compulsively, he fell asleep during conversations, and he ALWAYS smoked. Always had a cigerette in his mouth, and a pack on his goggles. In KH? Well the cursing, and falling asleep ar eboth gone. His surly personality is completly non existant here. Costume is barely at all the same. They've made him look 5 to 10 years younger, and instead of his trademark cigerettes... he has a toothpick. Are you getting this??

Next, let's look at Yuffie, I'll be brief with her. They made her shorter, her head bigger, her breasts smaller, her stomach, and hips wider. Then there's her personality. In FF7 she was a thief, that was all she was, and her obsession, and entire purpose for joing the team was to steal their materia. There is NO materia in KH. She displays none of her former personality, and looks insultingly different.

Finally, two characters. Wakka & Tidus. They've been turned from adults, to children. Now you may say "it takes place before the FF game!" aha, but the problem here is, Tidus and Wakka didn't meet until they were both adults. Play the games before you comment on them, really. On top of that little screw up -and the fact that tidus now has a red stick, instead of a crystal sword- there's the fact that he's a dream of the Fayth. As he is a dream, he is without age. The age he was in FFX is the only age he can be, because that was how he was dreamt up. And, if you played FFX you know that if the Fayth die, Tidus ceases to exist. There are no Fayth in KH, so again his presence lacks logic, and completely forsakes his plot.

Now, I know you've read two lines of this, and just decided to click that you didn't like the review without actually taking the time to read it, but I implore you. Read it, and understand that I'm making valid, technical points. If you want more info, or want to dispute it, e-mail me.

I've played it a millon times!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!46526

Tommy from Broomfield, CO, USA says (26/Mar/2007):
Like I said, I've played it a million times. But why wouldnt I? It is the most Interesting, fun, origional, cool, ect... game to ever be introduced to the gameing industry!!!!!!!! I cant stop playing it! It is so addictive! I cant wait till the 3rd is realesed! I keep playing the same 2 games over and over and over again! This is my all time FAVORITE game! I cant even see HOW YOU CANT LIKE IT!!!!!!!!! ITS PERFECT!!!!!!! If you a are shopping for this game or considering buying it, dont even think about not getting it! JUST GET IT! I garentee, it will be the best game you have everplayed in the history of your life! You might end up like me, obsessed and wrighting reviews for it all the time! I know no one will ever read this, maybe exept for the people running this website because i always see no one has made an entery since, I dunno, i will look back later but I know it was a lomg time, I am trying to spread the word about this website so this website will still be accepting entrys and stuff, well, were was I, oh yeah, No one will probably read this because no one ever goes to this sight, but I just want to get my LOVE for Kingdom Hearts out to ANYONE! I feel like i am giving my opinion of this game out to millions of people and they will think 'I gotta' get this game!" But as ive said, no one will see it unless i get it out to the public! Ive sent this sight to a few people. You must be wondering what this has to do with Kingdom Hearts, well, It shows how much I love this game by going through all this e-mailing and stuff to get people to read these reviews (Mostly very good, alot are 10s) and figure they should by it or if they already have it, play it more offten. I want the whole world to enjoy this game like I do! I mean look, I love it so much, If you look back onsome of these reviews, I have MANY!!!!!! I have so many! It is because ,like i said, Ifeel li,kme i am convincing millions to buy this game! You may be thinking "Yeah, so, you like the game, I get it, how does that helpm me make my decision? WHY do you like it, maybe we have different ideas of 'The perfect game" in mind" Well here is the answer to your question! I Love it because it is so Origional and fun! Well, maybe i should explain more, The reason I love this game is because... well, you may HATE ANEME with all your heart, beleive me, i hate it! but this is my favorite game of all time, why is that? Because I LOVE DISNEY!!!!!!!!!! It is not only that though, I like sora and evrything even though he is anemeISH. I wouldnt really want to play a game were ariel sais "Oh subastion, (Assuming that is the character youare playing as or something) I have lost mt lucky shell and dinglehopper! if you help me find it, I will give youy a golden snarfblate for your trouble, then if you collect enough, you can trade them in to Ursela to buy a pair of legs" The squaresoft give it an older feel to it but still keep that disney feeling that I love, I still watch them! I dont even really consider sora, kiri, riku and all of thoese Non-disney guys really ANEME! The aneme I hat is the big eye, slowly dropping sweat bead down face, wide mouth talking, weird creachers and powers. This one isnt THAT bad, I think the 2 combinations of squaresoft and disney go togetter well to creat a fun, origional, adictive ect.. game!!!!!!!!!(I do need to get out of the multipl "!" After a sentence habbit, i need only one or maybe 2!) Besides, If you havent boght this game yet, It should be cheaper now! Not so expensive. It is worthg every penny! If it was $1000 or something, I would still say it woul;d be worth every penny! It really is!!!! (OOPS) ! well, maybe I need to gfive a few more reasons why I LOVE this game so much, Well, I dont like the camera in war games and stuff, this one seems SO much simpler! I can use it more affectivly! And, uh, whatelse, OH, I like the origionality of the whole game! I mean a key...blade, yeah, that is good stuff! SERIOUSLY! What else, It is addictive, that is a good sign! That means it is not only VERY INTERESTING, but also EXTREAMLY FUN!!!!!(OOPS)Another thing, ya' know i have read SO MANY of these reviews, and I have read the ones that give it a one or a low score and i think the reasons the give for not likeing it are obsered, i broght my family and showed myfriends to see their reviwes and i say "hey, look, can you believe this? these are STUPID reasons!" And they agree! I mean really, think of some reall reasons! What dont you like? I cannot see how you can find a flaw in this perfect game! Seriously! Masybe you have never even played or heard of kingdom hearts but you happen to stumble on this or look up the top games and read the reviews to see if you will like it, well flip through them, you will see 10 10 10 10 10 10 10 10 9 10 10 9 1 10 10 10 ... Or something along thoes lines! were was i again? Oh yeah, You have never heard of it or played it, yopu stumble on it and try to think if you should buy it or not! Well, I would recomend to RENT it first before buying, the problem with this is I dont think the begining is a very good representation of the game (That is especially the case for kingdom hearts 2) but unless you have it for like, a month,(Alot of people ive seen cant figure out how to beat destinry islands, for them, it may take awhile) I wouldask a friend to borrow it! I mean Destiney Islands is just a bunch of teens with an ambotion and relating/working on an island, I mean it doent even shoewthe different worlds or anything!Thoes are the best parts, the different worlds!I would borrow it from a friend or rent untill you are half way done or finished it because i think you really reliz eif you like it after about, agraba or maybe halloween town. (Howevere hollow bastion is also really fun, its at the end) Ialso dont think it matters wether or not you like playing Final Fantasy, after all there are Final Fantasy characters in Kingdom Hearts, I did not like Final fantasy, so do not assum that becausre you do not like Final Fantasy, you will not like this game, I would say if you like any of the 3 things, Squaresoft, Final Fantasy, Disney, you will enjoy this game.Even if you HATE 2! Now if you hate ALL of them, I would say you will not like this game! Also, If tou like using guns and like shoooting and not hitting/slashing yiou will also not like this game becausre you Do use a Keyblade (Sword that works like a key too and has powers) I DO like using swords so I would like it! Well, I should go play it now, all of this reviwing is getting me exited to play it, so, I guess i will wright another later.

A few answers for those of you who don't like this game...44118

Katherine Anthony from Los Angeles, California says (12/Feb/2005):
SPOILERS AHEAD! Don read this if you don't want spoilers. If you want a regular review, then only read the first part!

REGULAR REVEIW: I enjoyed this game alot. The music is great, the concept it great, the plot is amazing in alot more complex than it appears it first. Overall this is a very appealing game. Sure, in some of the scenes the animation is mediocre at best, the cutscenes feature amazing graphics. Personally, the graphics in this are much better than those in FFX and X-2. Their movements aren't jerky, even in the mediocre scenes (only their mothers). In FFX, it's even worse than that. The dubbing in english is AWFUL, and Kingdom Hearts has the best dubbing I've seen in any translated game. My favorite part about the game, though, was the music score. Every world had it's own regular music, battle music, and boss music, making everything fall into place a little bit better. The main songs, "Dearly Beloved", "Simple and Clean", "Destati", and "Hikari" are the best I've heard from any game, Square or not. True, the lyrics in Simple and Clean aren't nessecarily the easiest to understand, but, again, you have to look for the deeper meaning. It has nothing to do with bathing. It's all about making someone feel pure, despite what they've done in the past, when they are around the person they love. It's about how being with the person you love is the greatest thing in the world. Overall, this isn't the best game I've ever played, but it's my favorite. I give it a 9.

SPOILER REVEIW:

First off, this game wasn't meant to have a hard to follow storyline. Why? Because it is targeted for ages 10-18, most likely. Because it's the first in a series. Because if you pay attention to it more, you can see that what it appears to be isn't all that it seems.

Here are some answers for those of you who didn't pick of on those OH SO SUBTLE (notice the sarcasm) hints to how and why things were the way they were.

About the Islands: There are more than just one island. We know this for a few reasons. First, there are no houses on the island the game centers on. Two, we know the children have parents, or gaurdians at least, so we know there is a place where the children have homes. Three, we actually SEE Sora's bedroom in the opening sequence. Four, there is a dock with boats tied to it. Five, Sora uses one of the boats to get to the island that it centers on (ever wonder why, when you first fight Heartless on that island, you begin on a DOCK by BOATS?). Geez. Did no one else pick up on this? Oh and one more thing. If you look at a world picture (google it), you can see other islands.

About Riku, Squall, Aerith, and Yuffie's Knowledge: I'll explain to you idiots how they all know these things, starting off with Riku.

Riku, seeing that the darkness was his only way off the island in one piece, accepted it. In doing this, the knowledge of the Heartless was gained by him. He knew that a 'door' had been opened. By a door, he meant that a way to travel between worlds was available to them. They didn't have to take a raft across an ocean to get somewhere new.

Squall, Aerith, and Yuffie are from Hollow Bastion in this game. They are obviously not the same characters we know from the previous FF games. Did you notice that their clothing was a little different? Anyway. They talk about how the ruler of Hollow Bastion, Ansem, was greatly interested in the Heartless, and researched them alot. Obviously, they had probably read reports he had put in the library, or something.

About the Heartless: Did you even take the time to think about why they were called this? About their strength? I didn't think so. I'll provide you with a bit of information on them, just so you all can grasp the bigger picture here.

The Heartless are shadow like creatures that are created in a place called Kingdom Hearts. Their survival is based on the stealing of pure hearts, or the hearts of those that are not corrupted by darkness. The infect towns, stealing the hearts of many and finally sending the world into oblivion. Every so often, a world has someone, or a few people, on it that have especially strong hearts that the Heartless cannot take. These people generally end up in Traverse Town.

About Traverse Town: TT is a crossroads between worlds. It provides easy access to them all, as well as house those with strong hearts. Some people do live here as their original home, but most don't. Sora, the main character, ends up in Traverse Town because he opposed the Heartless with his strong heart, and repelled them. This is also why the Keyblade chose him over someone else. He had the strongest heart.

About Riku: Riku embraced the darkness, which sent him to Hollow Bastion, where Meleficent was controlling the Heartless. He accepted her offer to help her if she helped him find Sora and Kairi. Riku was the keyblade's original master, but, because his heart was tainted so much by the darkness, it rejected him and went to Sora. As the game progresses, Riku's power over the heartless expands to the point where it overtakes him. Ansem takes Riku's body and uses it to take the Keyblade from Sora when they meet in Hollow Bastion. In your second fight with Riku, Ansem explain how he isn't Riku, and attempts to unlock Sora's heart, which will return Kairi's back to her body. Sora refuses, but ends up taking Riku's dark keyblade and doing it himself in an attempt to save Kairi. Later, Riku rejects Ansem, and tells Sora to protect Kairi.

About Kairi: Kairi is a princess from Hollow Bastion. This means that she is somehow related to Ansem, if distantly, but we don't know how. She lived with her grandmother there, but is taken to Destiny Islands when her home is overtaken by Heartless in an attempt to preserve her extremely strong heart. When the Heartless come to the Islands, her heart is taken, and Sora's journey to save her begins.

So, as you can see, this game is indeed complex. What I just told you is just the tip of the iceberg for all that I could tell you. Because of these reasons, I give this game a 9.

Another Masterpeice By Square-Soft40655

Da Blue Moose from Stockholm, Sweden says (27/Apr/2004):
When I heard that Disney and Square-Soft where going to make a RPG game together I thought to myself "This is just another wanna be good RPG with a bad story and bad characters", but boy was I wrong. When I played it at my friends house I immediately fell in love with it. I just had to buy that game. So when one day I was going to the cinema and I went into a shop that sold games and couldn’t find Kingdom Hearts I was disappointed. But I found another good game so I bought it. After I had gone to see the movie at the cinema I went back to the store to find that they had just gotten a shipment of games, which included Kingdom Hearts. I asked if I could trade in the game for Kingdom Hearts that I bought and they said yes. When I got home I was so eager to play that I basically ran to my PS2. I loved the game from the moment I started playing it. Below I am going to talk about the aspects on the game and grade it on those aspects:

Controls:
The controls for Kingdom Hearts are surprisingly easy. You use the analog stick to move, the arrows to choose what action you want to perform on the menu, the X button to select the action, the Triangle button to tell your teammates to attack, the Square button to jump, and the shoulder button to target, switch target and even use a hotkey menu so that you can cast spells easier
A DEFINET 10/10 ON CONROLS

Sound/Music:
The theme song Simple and Clean is just an excellent song which even reflects the game and is just wonderful to listen to. The background music always relates to what world you are in and changes when you are in a battle or close to an enemy monster. Also the sounds when you cast magic, attack or when an enemy is destroyed are just so flawless.
A STRONG 10/10 ON SOUND/MUSIC

Items/Weapons:
These are just wonderful. In most games the more expensive the weapon the better it is, but not in Kingdom Hearts. All weapons have their strengths and weaknesses. It is always good to make sure that the right weapon is equipped when fighting a certain type of monster or boss. The Items are also good because there are only items that you actually need and not items that you think you will need but will never actually use. Also there aren’t many so you can’t be confused of buying a wrong item.
A DESERVED 10/10 FOR ITEMS/WEAPONS

Graphics:
This is probably the aspect of the game that gives the most immediate impact. When you see the intro of the game you think that the graphics are quite good but when you first start to play it you notice that the in play Graphics are just mind blowing. It never goes bad in the game and these graphics are just like the graphics that other games have only when they play a movie in the game.
A FLAWLESS 10/10 FOR GRAPHICS

Characters:
The characters for this game are just plain amazing. All the characters look good, sound good and even have a strong personality so you actually feel like you have met this person in actual life. Even the characters that are bad (Monsters and villains) have a very good AI and have a personality of their own. This really makes the game much more fun to play.
A UNBEATABLE 10/10 FOR CHARACTERS

Story:
The story for this game has to have taken ages to make. It really is a good plot and why everything is like it is explained. The reason you really play this game like most RPG's is so that you can figure out how it ends. When I finally beat this game the ending is so emotional and all so that I almost cried. I really would want to give this 1,000,000/10 but due to some laws of mathematics this is not possible so I give it,
A WELL EARNED 10/10 FOR STORY

Game play:
This is really the most important part of any game. How the game actually plays. This game is just awesome, the monsters and characters really add allot to the game play.
A SUPERB 10/10 FOR GAME PLAY

Worlds:
The locations for this game are awesome. They have like lots of places you usually know from Disney movies like Never Never Land, Halloween land and other movies. You can even get characters from those worlds like Tarzan, Peter Pan and even Ariel the Little Mermaid. All the worlds are filled with puzzles and twists to make it even more enjoyable like when you have to swim in Ariel’s world instead of running and walking. Sometimes you even need to use magic in special places to be able to get items and weapons. You can even choose to help Winnie the Pooh and his friends when they need it and even fly around in Never Never Land.
A MAGNIFICENT 10/10 FOR WORLDS

Time Span:
This game can last a lot of different time lengths depending on how you play the game. If you just do what is necessary you can beat it in all most two weeks, but if you work out all mysteries, puzzles and defeat the special secret bosses it can even take up to a year like it did for me. It is really good because after I had played on it and come very far I got bored of it and stopped playing it. Two months later I picked it up again and I played non-stop until I beat it.

FINAL ANALYSIS:
SOUND/MUSIC: 10/10
ITEMS/WEAPONS: 10/10
GRAPHICS: 10/10
CHARACTERS: 10/10
STORY: 10/10
GAMEPLAY: 10/10
WORLDS: 10/10
TIME SPAN: 10/10
RATING OF GAME:10/10

Go out and buy this game if you haven’t already. This is Truly a wonderful RPG..

P.S. Kingdom Hearts 2 will come out late 2004 or early 2005 ; )

holy hell42896

A gamer from Columbus, Georgia says (24/Oct/2004):
To all the people that give this game 10 stars and say its totally awesome, what the hell is your problem? What are you, four years old? This game is a CHILDS game. "Oh, look at me, I go around and bop things that have no hearts with a big key!" The only good thing about this game is creating and flying your OWN gummi ships, and by the way, thats the gayest name for a ship ive ever heard. Disney and Sqaursoft? What the hell? Whinnie the pooh. WHINNIE THE POOH FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! SqaureSoft made a big mistake working with Disney to make such a game. Look at their feet. What is wrong with their feet? Are they clowns? SqaureSoft let Disney take characters from the Final Fantasy games and completely change them. For one thing about the "KEY BLADE" it frigin chooses who it's master is? What the crap? What if it chose Bob the Builder? The universe would end. AND it chose and frigin kid instead of someone older and cooler like Squall. And whats with Cloud? He bandaged up his sword, is it wounded or something? This game is not an RPG. Also, the summons suck. And they didn't use any worlds from SqaureSoft, they were all Disney worlds. Dont waste your money on this game. It dosnt even make any sense. The "HEARTLESS"? Oh please, my frigin grandma could come up with a better villin. There are so many things to bitch about in this game. "Oh, we're supposed to be saving worlds and stuff, but we'll just stop to pick flowers at the Olympis Colesium. And Destiny Islands, WHY is it called Destiny ISLANDS? It is ONE ISLAND! And when you "kill" the heartless, they drop money. What the hell?! Why would heartless need money? They dont even have a frigin heart for cryin out loud! God! And I know this really dosnt have anything to do with Kingdom Hearts, but WHY IS IT THAT NO ONE LIKE FINAL FANTASY 9?! Argh! I like FF8 and FF7, And so does everyone else, but WHAT ABOUT FF9?! I would greatly appreciate it if someone would e-mail me and tell me why. And Donald and Goofy are always talking about not meddling with other worlds, and then they come barging into Traverse Town and look for Squall, which I have no Idea what the hell he was doing here, And then they grab Sora and run off to lock the keyholes. Talk about not meddling! Sora's world gets blown the hell up, and then SOMEHOW he just MAGICALLY APPEARS in Traverse Town and is alive and well. The music sucks. The lyrics suck and dont make sense. "Simple and Clean is the way that your making me feel tonight..." What, is Sora giving her a bath? And since when, oh forget it, I REALLY dont think I want to know. In the beginning of the game, Riku comes up with the BRILLIANT idea that building a raft and sailing away will give them some unexplained access to other worlds. Then the big black thing appears in the sky and somehow he knows all about the door opening and now they can go to other wordls. What the hell? I really hope Kingdom Hearts 2 is less childesh than this one. I'm so tired of people going, "OH ANSEM IS SO HARD!" This game is easy and boring. The plot line just stinks. You could write a story about a frigin rat and it would be better. Somehow Tidus and Wakka end up at Destiny Island. Somehow Sqaull, Yuffie, and Aerith have this unlimited knowledge of Ansem and the heartless. Somehow a princess named Kairi ends up at Destiny Islands. Somehow Mickey is the King of...Everything. For some reason Merlin came to Traverse Town. For some reason Merlin has a book which is Whinnie the gay ass pooh. For some reason the gay ass pooh book is missing pages. Somehow, the puppies and the pages of Ansems report got scattered all over the different worlds. None of the game makes any sense. Somehow Monstro can breath in space. Somehow characters from a completely other world in a completley other galaxy in a completely other DIMENSION end up in a Disney dimension. SOMEHOW. FOR SOME UNEXPLAINED REASON. If a 1 year old could understand a video game, he would get bored with this after the first 10 minutes. SqaureSoft has discraced them self. Every one of their games I can think of is rated teen. For example in the Final Fantasy games it is adultry. It is mature. For those of you who are childish, and think cussing is funny or something like, "oh my god, he just said damn! and hell!" Curse words are not just smacked into story for no reason. It enhances the feeling, the emotion of the story. In the FF series there is violence, cursing, sex related themes, smoking, war, and other things. This does not make it something to laugh at. Just because characters say damn, that does not make them cool. It makes the game more realistic. If your mommy is like, "Uh-oh, that game said ass, or bitch or WHATEVER!" then she needs to grow up. Zidane, from FF9, is he a little stupid, gay, weird boy like Sora? Or is he a cursing, theiving PERV? God you people understand nothing. you are so immature. Any way, the point is this game is not worth wasting $50 on. I have so many other things I could say about this game but I dont have the time. So long.

I Am Still The #1 Fan!!!!!!!( Yes Me, NOT ANY OF YOU IMPOSTERS!!!!!!!!!! I Am the REAL #1 Fan!)46648

Tommy ( I know, yet another review for KH by me) from Broomfield, Colorado says (22/Jun/2007):
If any of you really read and look through these reviews, you would know, I Tommy, have put numerous reviews on this website for this game alone! (oh yeah, and 2 on KH2) And If you have ever sorted these by size, you would see i have the second longest out of hundreds! And out of all these reviews, my first one was saying i was the #1 fan, I have read some recent reviews and fliped through them and saw there are more and more people claiming they are the #1 fan.....thats a good one. We all know I am so just deal with it!!!! I have also noticed alot that say they are the biggest fan only gave it 9 stars and are ALOT shorter!!!!! They also dont have alot of reviews for this game like i do! My friend just posted a review here named Victoria Johnson and if you read hers, you will see she mentions 'my friend' a few times and i want you all to know i am that friend, i get ALOT of people hooked on this game, so this review is not just to straighten things out with all thoes so called "#1 fans" but to also convince you and esentialy hook you on this game too!
OK, there is no way any of you can possibly like Kingdom Hearts more than me!!! It is one of the ONLY games i play, not really because i dont like anything else, but because it is my all time favorite game!!!!!!So can ANYONE give any valid proof that they are a bigger fan than me.....anyone.....????? So, i have debated at school with kids who say they are a bigger fan than me!!! I love it!!!!! Who would spend this much time doing Kingdom Hearts related things if they werent the #1 fan? No, I know what you are thinking "Get a life" No, i have a life, i do other things than Kingdom Hearts, it is not like i play it all day and get fat, no way, but that shouldnt have any affect on my Title "#1 Fan for Kingdom Hearts" And I know another thing you are probably thinking "How can he sit there saying he is a bigger fan than i am? It doesnt matter what he says, i AM the #1 fan!!!!" News Flash!!! You arent, you can be Runner up, be happy with #2!!!!!But there cant be more than 1 # of anything, so no matter what, my name is tatooed on the top, #1 fan, for EVER!!! so, you cant bump me off, no matter how much you sit there arguing you are and saying "well who made you the judge?" and wrighting a review saying it doesnt matter what I say, that you ARE definatly the #1 fan, it wont change a bit, you can tell yourself you are #1, if that makes you feel better, but it would be a lie to tell people you are. Dont even think about wrighting a review telling everyone i am wrong, if anything, wright a review saying you were mistaking and are NOT the biggest fan!I know no one will do that, but still, it would be the best thing, it would be the truth.
Now, i am sure you dont want to read about me being the biggest fan, i am sure alot of you would like to hear about the game if you havent played it and also whant to know why i lov it so much, well, i am sure most of my other reviews have coverd that, still, i will give you the short version, not like my other ones were i write what is great about the graphics or story line or concept of the disney involvment, besides, I am not really in the mood to wright a really long review now, mor in the mood to play it, but just lnow, this game is perfect!!!! doesnt need explination! I am sure alot of you would like to hear what is so fantastic about it, if you are read one of my other reviews(some) and read about it or another persons review and i wouldnt read the ones who say it is terrible, because most of thoes idiots dont have a brain and never give reasons why the game is bad and are not helpful, i am aware this particular one is not as helpful but this one wasnt meant for that really, just to say i was the #1 fan!!!!! I didnt start intending it to be long and detailed, just wanted you all to know who the REAL #1 Fan, not that imposter!!!!!!! Just like the title says. i know i said i would try to get you guys hooked, but i thought My other reviews were good and dont worry, i will come write another later, next time about why the game is so great!!!! this time just wanted to, like i said, straighten things out with all thoes almost #1 fans!

Wins Best Video Game Of All Time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!46653

Tommy from Broomfield, Colorado, yet again says (23/Jun/2007):
This game could not possibly be any better!!! It is Perfect!!!!!I mean, look at some of these reviews! if you fliped through them, it looks like 10,10,10,10,10,10,9,10,10,9,1,1,10,9,10,1, 10,10,9.....There is an ocassional 1 or 2 or something, but they dont really matter, because they were writen by idiots who wouldnt know a good game if it punched them in the face!Besides, i have accually gone throgh them and counted them up, WAY more 10's then 1's!!!!!You also never see the same people wrighting new reviews for the same game over and over telling how bad it is, you only see that with the people who give 10's, like me, I am Tommy from Broomfield CO and if you look at the peoples names who post reviews, my name shows up many times!!!! I have also noticed another person who always adds a new review who gives it a 10, me and that person not only wright alot of reviews, we also have the 2 longest reviews. Way to go!!!!!! Seriously, who could not like this game? That is a question i would like answered by one of thoese idiots who say it is a terrible game, all they ever say is things like "OMG, this game is terrible, it is so stupid, only 2 year olds whould like this game, how can everyone say it is so great? well, i would give this a 0 star but i cant, it was so dumb" and the people who give it a bad rating but DO give reasons, have stupid reasons like they would say something stupid like "well, disney is stupid", " the graphics suck", "The story is so unoriginal". All of which are NOT true, Disney is awsome, the graphics were good, not great all the time, but why does that matter, so what if you dont have exellent graphics, as long as the game is fun!!!! Besides, they arent terrible, they are good, and how can you say the story is unorigional? How many stories involve a key as a sword, how manyy have different disney worlds? how many times do you see Micky Mouse as a king? come ON!!!!!! it is AWSOME and SO origional!!! And even though they mix up the story of disney sometimes, they still seem like something that could accually happen after the story! And especially because they get the same voices to be the characters again! (mostly). Y9ou might be thinking that I havent played it in a while and i forgot how dumb it is, accually, i play it frequently and just got done with it!!! i got throught half the game in a few hours!!!!!I can beat it all in 1 day!!!!!!!!(on expert) now i know you are thinking "well what about that!!!??? tell them 'the game is way to easy and doesnt provide a challenge!" It does, i just happen to have ALOT of experience!!!!!! My friend couldnt beat it on normal for a few years! But we both love it. If you do love tnhis game, get people to play it so they will be hooked!!! Thats how i got alot of my friends to love it!!!! If i could, i would have given this game a 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 stars!!!! But the limit is 10, so that is what i gave it, I am after all the # 1 fan, (i realize that i have said the star thing, the #1 fan thing and alot of this stuff in my earlier reviews)It does deserve the highest maximum star rating ever. And to every one who sais it is dumb, why dont you look around? It is on the "Hot Lis" and is a "Greatest Hit" and so many people give it a 10, it is a best seller, and extreamly popular!!!!!!! People love it!!! You dont need to love Disney or squarsoft to love this game!!! And also, Lets talk about the music! WOW!!! I love it, especially simple and clean and the remix, I have all the kingdom hearts songs on my iPod, ALL OF THEM!!!!!!!!!! Even my sister who doesnt like Kingdom Hearts (weirdo) and my friends love that song, my friend cried at the end because if that!!!! EVery ones gotta love at LEAST some part of it (they should be loveing the whole game). well, i just wanted to write another one, i dont want to write a super long one today, just want to play kingdom hearts again, so, i will play for a little while longer then do something else (cant have TOO much of a good...GREAT, thing

!!!!!!!!!!THE BEST RPG OF THE MILLENIUM!!!!!!!!!!40582

Da Blue Moose from Clarksville, Mini-Wah-Wah says (22/Apr/2004):
I am one of those people who usually buys a game and plays it for a while and then thinks "Why oh why did i ever waste my money on buying this boring game???" Usually i dont like sit down and go into a gaming state where you play for five weeks non-stop. but this game is different.
When i saw the commercial for Kingdom Hearts i said "That Looks Pretty Decent". But Boy was i wrong. WHen i tryed it at my friends house i was directly Fascinated only by looking at the beggining. The Song simple and clean is probaly one of the best songs for a hardcore RPG game. The gameplay is Mindblowing and i would have sat and rotten in my couch if my mother didnt Say "Dinners Ready". when i finally went to my local game store i didnt find Kingdom Hearts so instead i Bought Some other game called King Arthur BLA BLA BLA. After that i went to the cinema which took about a minute to walk to and saw "The tuxedo". AFter the movie i went back to game and saw that they just got a shipment of games. so when they put the games onto the shelf I saw what i had come for... KINGDOM HEARTS...
when i got home i only came to the part when you are in traverse town because it was sunday and school was on the next day so i had to go to bed. in about three weeks i had come to the part of where i had to beat ansem. i couldnt get past this part so i put the game down.
about four months later i started to play again and i went to the hercules areana place. there i leveled up about 30 levels. i then went and beat all of the hidden bosses with ease. i then beat the game twice. i looked on teh internet and saw that you could get an alternitve ending if you found all of the 99 dalmations. it took me some time to find all but three. i looked on the internet and it said that they where ontop of a grey pumpkin in halloween town. it took me about 2 days to find where the pumpkin was. i then found it and beat the game once more to see the mindblowing ending. Squaresoft and Disney have put so much effort into making this nobel price award winning masterpeice. if i could i would give this game 100,000,000,000,000,000/10, but i could only give it a maximum of 10. so if you liked FF7 then you will defentiveley LLOOVVEE this game. this is one of those games which you just cant put away for 5 reasons
1.Mindblowing Graphics
2.Best Songs And Sound EVER
3.Storyline which Engulfs you into playing
4.Charcters From the FF series and charcters with Personalitys.
5.Simply Because it is just a kick < remove me > at < remove me > at $ game.

to summarize this game is really good and any person who has played a final fantasy game or any RPG game should really buy this game. the different levels like the wonderland one requires a lot of thinking to get past. the monsters fit very well with the levels. the tarzan level is pretty straight forward and only requires you to fight well to "kill" all of the really hard monkey heartless. the best level is probaly the hercules level even thought you cant really beat it. if you are struggling to beat a boss and need leveling up this is defenetly the place to level up at. at the end of the game you should level up until you are lvl75 then start to beat the secret bosses. if you really like this game then you should really attempt to get the secret ending by looking all keyholes (Including The HUndread Acre Woods and hecules level), Beat all the secret bosses and get all 99 dalmations which takes a **ll of a long time to do unless you know where they all are.
So i suggest that You Get out of your chair you are sitting on, grab your money and run like the wind down to a store and buy the so far best RPG game in the world.
This is how i would rate it:
Graphics: 100/100
Sounds/Music: 100/100
Leveling up/Magic/Items: 100/100
Story Line: 100/100
Time Consuming:100/100
Can't Wait Until Second KH is Out: 2 MINUTES

P.S. KH2 will Be coming out in the late 2004 or ealy 2005. This is now for sure as it is soon to be released in Japan. Also, lets hope SquareSoft and Disney do another game agin together.

KOOL39930

A gamer says (30/Dec/2002):
  Hear are some good cheats!!^_^!!

Alternate ending sequence
Successfully complete the game with all keyholes, 99 Dalmatians, and the Hades Cup.

Infinite magic
This method requires that you have the summons spell Bambi, which you can get in 100 Acre Woods. The abilities of Treasure Magnet and Jackpot are also very good to have. Unlimited magic is actually quite intuitive, though not necessarily obvious to all players: Summon Bambi, and have the Treasure Magnet and Jackpot abilities on. This enables the quick collection of, and increases the number of Magic Bubbles Bambi drops, respectively. You will get magic back at an incredible rate. This can be used throughout a battle, or simply to refill your magic at the end of a battle without the need for Ethers. It is best to summon Bambi and fill up your magic bar just before killing the last creature you are fighting. Also, unlimited magic also means unlimited health when coupled with the Cure spell. Of course, Bambi will not appear everywhere, such as the Coliseum, where this method would be extremely useful.

Easy money
Use the "Infinite magic" trick to help collect items and money. Find an open area where a lot of enemies appear, use your area effect spells, especially Thunder, repeatedly then run around and collect everything that falls. Remember to equip Treasure Magnet to help collect and Jackpot on as many party members that have it to increase the item drop rate. A good location to try this is Traverse Town's second and third districts after closing up the Keyhole.

Life
Get 200 Mushrooms in the first town. You can sell them at Trevers Town to get extra life.

Fighting
Try to master using both the Left Analog-stick and Right Analog-stick. Remember to top up your partners' items. Use lock-on targeting in all Boss fights. Do not always rely on your partners to heal you. Try to use the hit and magic attack method. For example, first lock on the target. Next, use your magic until one last MP remains then join in the pounding of the Boss. Cast magic when you regain one block of MP. Continue to pound the Boss. Remember to take care of your HP during the pounding.

Easy experience
When you first start, you can fight Riku, Wakka, Tidus, and Selphie by talking to them. A good way to get experience is to fight Wakka or Riku, however if you defeat them all and get the items you need for the raft (the two logs, the cloth, and the rope) and select "Rest", when you wake up in the morning you can fight everyone except Riku. Defeat Wakka and Selphie then talk to Tidus. He will tell you about his three on one match with Riku and how bad he lost. You will then have three options, Select "3 on 1", and you will start fighting against Wakka, Tidus, and Selphie. Tidus and Selphie attack in a group. Knock out Tidus, then Selphie. Keep your distance from Wakka. When he throws the Blitzball at you and it is about to hit, slash your sword. It should be deflected, and you will get 1 or 2 experience points. You can repeat this as many times as needed, but if you hit Wakka with the ball a certain amount of times he will die. Even though it may take practice hitting the Blitzballs, it is the easiest way to get experience at the start of the game. It is possible to leave Destiny Island at level 12, almost strong enough to defeat Cloud.

Defender Shield
After you seal the Key Hole in Hollow Bastion, return and kill as many Defenders as possible. Defenders are the lion head enemies with the hardcore shields. One will eventually drop The Defender Shield, which is Goofy's second best shield.

Dream weapons
Play the White Mushrooms game, and only cast the same spell on them three times in a row. Once you use every spell this way, retur

Disney: Must they ruin everything?13400

Syyo Sidikari from California, USA says (24/Dec/2002):
The moment I was aware of Kingdom Hearts' exictance, I almost laughed. Squaresoft and Disney...I had never seen THIS one coming. Though, I soon felt impelled to play the game as soon as i was informed that the Squaresoft Character's would be granted voices in the game. Once I got the chance to actually sit down and play the game, I imediately begain to pluck out the pros and cons.
For the most part I found the game satisfactory. The graphics were top notch, the folley art was nigh on target, and the voices were perfect (excluding Sephiroth's N*syncronization). On the matter of gameplay, I believe square really pulled it off. In fact, the reason I even played the game through was becuase of the gameplay. However, I was dissapointed, heavily I may add, in the interest of storyline. Personally, I would shoot myself dead if i had to live amidst a land ruled by Mickey Mouse.
Where to start...The disney characters, in my opinion strike an eccentric, perhaps even unwelcome contrast towards the squaresoft characters. The art style entitled to each differs so greatly it feels, to say the least, awkward.
So, a group of heartless demons emerge from an alternate dimension and slowly vaporize different worlds from the inside out. Seems fair enough, but could it have hurt to have at least one level from a Squaresoft oriented world? Yes, I know in the game it was mentioned that Aeris, Leon, and Yuffie's homeworld was destoryed, but that doesn't mean that there is no Final fantasy turf left at all ( actually, it does, but that's not my point). Could it have hurt to play in, say, midgar, or lindblum or somewhere? I don't know about anyone else, but Playing in one-hundred achor woods had to be the single most embarassing moment of my life.
Yay! Do you know what time it is? Bitching time! The summons were tacky, said simply. THough they were probably placed in the game for some odd type of comic reliefe, It got annoying to cast a summon (an aspect of squaresoft that i usually took as an oppurtunity to absorb some of Squre's creative monster Design)and see bambi frolliking in on a bed of flowers.
And finally, by last personal grudge against the game; Apparently FF9 has become completely forgotten throughout the past few years. Sure, I should probably be grateful that the one and only sephiroth is in the game, and that cloud has a decent voice, but the game lacked SOMETHING that I think would have easily been remidied by an FF9 cameo; Would Eiko not make the perfect Kingdom Hearts character? She's small, enchanted, and irritating. Perfect, I tell you! Now, there would be no better game in existence (in my opinion) if Freya was included as a playable character in Kingdom Hearts.
As you may be reading this, thinking "Can't this stupid Jackass be optimistic for once?", I would like to assure you that I did like the game enough to buy it. It deffinitely is worth playing, and resembles a good point on Squares record (I don't think there has been a Real Time Square game since The Bouncer, which wasn't half as good). Also, I think that Kingdom Hearts is also a good introduction into the world of Real Time gaming for younger gamers, for example, a Devil May Cry for kids.
Bottomline, it's not great, but worth spending time on. But will squaresoft ever come to their senses and make Freya a playable character in real time? Eh, maybe I'll get lucky come Kingdom Hearts II. (You all know they're going to do it.)

P.S. KH2 will Be coming out in the late 2004 or ealy 2005.
