If you like Blasting things all the time... | | Matt from Arizona, USA says (9/Sep/2003): | I personally find this game a tad boring. All you do is run around and shoot things up. But, you're a bounty hunter and I suppose thats what you do. However, I feel that they should've added more concepts to bounty hunting than what they did. For example. If you were Jango Fet, looking for a mark...sorry, thats Assassin Lingo....looking for a Bounty I highly doubt you'll just willy nilly run across them on the streets. There is a lot of investigation, stealth, and conning that thi job requires. But, like most Star Wars things it lacks in a true sense of reality. In my opinion, Star Wars: Bounty Hunter seems to be made soley for the low IQ types or children under the age of five.
The graphics are great as is the sound, although, maybe some modern day rock music may enhance the overall gamming experience. The fact that Jango has the option of collecting Secondary Bounties gives the game enough jazz to overlook the mind-numbing blaster action. Games like Tom Clancey's Splinter Cell, Tenchu; Stealth Assassins, and the like outshine Star Wars: Bounty Hunter by far.
On another niote entirely I, and I think others can agree, Jango Fett is possibly the coolest futuristic "bad guy" in the multiverse! Well, next to Darth Vader of course. I was dissappointed by both the game as well as the newer Star Wars movies as that they did not fully develope this character. He is a tough Mandalorian who is a wizard with blaster pistols. He is the toughest bounty hunter ever and what, halfway through Episode two he gets beheaded by Samuel Jackson!!! But I made a mistake, that wasn't Jango that was Fango...no, Dango...oh well, you get my point.
Finally I find the lack of exciting cheats discouraging. If I'm going to spend a large sum of money to buy a game, and when you're like the rest of the working class $20-$40 for a game is a large sum, I want there to be tremendous amounts of replay value. So I can punch in a few codes to unlock certain missions and chapters...Whoo-Pee! Yes, I mean that sarcastically. After about the hundrenth time playing all these levels I would want to put a blaster to my PS2! No, I want to see invincibility, a code to play as other characters, heck, I'd spend $40 alone just to be able to play that little female Toydarian, uh, Rosetta. Can you imagine? Running around shooting everything as her?! I don't care about unlocking art, I want to post it on my walls, not have to access a whole bunch of codes just to view it on the television! Lets have codes to unlock unlimited fuel for your jetpack/flamethrower, how about some extra weapons, how about "Play as an Ewok"? Who knows, something to add more spice in order to motivate us to WANT to spend hours at end playing it again and again.
Overall, I like the graphics, sound, concept, and in-depth story/plot. I dislike available cheats, lack of character development, the fact that the camera doesn't automatically center itself (I found after doing a complex series of jumps, rolls, and dodges I lost sight of my enemies easily), and the overall banality of the game. I give it a 6. Fun for a little, not really worth buying in my opinion, not sure if I even agree about its worth to rent unless its really cheap or free. Maybe I'll write Lucas Arts and see what they can do about all this, maybe we'll see a game/movie in the future that regards playing Yoda from a little...whatever he is...to the Jedi master/god that he became. Wierd Al Yankovitch's song "Yoda" plays through my mind.
| This game rocks so hard, I had to go into therapy for my Jango Fett-ish! | | Boba Phatt from Sioux Falls, USA says (6/Dec/2002): | Being a complete Star Wars nut, I own every Lucas-arts game available for the PS2. Bounty Hunter blows them all away, literally! Everything Jango Fett had in his arsenal in the movie is in this game, from the rocket-launching jetpack to the gauntlet-mounted whipcord and flamethrower. The graphics are astounding, and the sound is dead-on Star Wars.(blasters, voices, cries of Dug despair, etc.) The difficulty is enhanced by the limited number of continues available per level, which I find somewhat frustrating, but it always keeps me coming back to hand out more vigilante justice. The story line is also quite impressive, complete with engrossing cut-scenes. I've often wondered how Slave 1 came into possesion of the Fett family, and now I know.(if only they'd let me pilot that bad boy, i'd give this game a 10.) The plot seamlessly combines parts of Episode II(Zam and death-sticks) with original aspects which I find impressive, most impressive(how 'bout a villianous vixen with double light-sabres? got it.) The pause feature while selecting weapons has saved my bounty-hunting bacon countless times, while the weapons themselves are mind-blowing. Want to regain your Mandalorian mojo? Rapid-fire dual blasters should do the trick. Feel like releasing some pent-up flammable frustration? Just torch a hapless Dug and watch him stop, drop, and roll-Dick-roll. Sniper rifles, missles, grenades, even enemy laser turrets are at your disposal, and disposal is what this game is all about. Wanted, dead or alive? Depends on my mood. Well, i'm off to the galactic pawn shop to check on used jetpacks. Once I yearned to be a Jedi, but no more. Now they are my prey.
| The Best Star Wars Game Ever! (at the very least on the PS2) | | Orcslayer from Hickory, North Carolina, USA says (30/Dec/2002): | Don't ask me why, but some fool at PSM only rated Bounty Hunter with a 3 out of 5, but I think the rating here speaks for itself, the fans love it, everyone who has tried the the game loves it, and I love it!! The graphics are stupendous, and the fight scenes are just incredible! I love the huge gunfights where you're just strafing around blasting everything in sight, usually targeting two foes at once, then you happen upon a heavy blaster and the real mayhem begins!! If nothing else the story in Bounty Hunter proves that Jango Fett is by no means an evil person, he is, just as he describes himself in Episode II, simply a man trying to make his way in the universe. And you learn a bit about his history in the game, trust me, Jango has good reason to dislike the Jedi. Awesome gameplay, the controls do take a bit to get used to, but once you do, man, get ready for some real mayhem!! I just started Chapter 6 and it's super creepy, and incredibly tough! Having only 5 continues per level can be frustrating, but in truth it keeps you from beating the game in one night, which as far as I'm concerned is a great tradeoff! This game is a MUST OWN for anyone who has a PS2 or Gamecube and loves (or even just likes) Star Wars, and even if you don't like Star Wars (do such people exist?), Bounty Hunter has some awesome gameplay, and in my opinion is certainly one of the very best PS2 games of 2002, possibly THE best.
| Bounty Hunter means Hunting Bounties | | Steven from Safety Harbor, Florida says (26/Nov/2002): | This is a great game. Sure I've only gotten half way through it but it keeps getting funner. The gameplay is awesome. You get to use a bunch of weapons (Jangos double blasters, his whipcord, saber darts, grenades, sniper rifles, a flamethrower, and jetpack missles, not to mention Jangos own two fists) and you get to fight alot of people. Even the innocent. Some of the guys you fight are a bunch tougher than others (usually when they have the use of an extremely powerful weapon or it is a robot or a monster) for example the Nexu. You know that big cat thing from Episode 2. Those are tough. To manuver around you've got a jetpack. You soar through the air and can blast at the same time. Alot of times you will loose life quickly though. Most people are blasting you. But no sooner than you dispose of them, you should get some life packs from them. And before you go blasting everyone in their faces, use your ID scanner because sometimes your enemies will have bounties on their heads. Mark them as your bounty and capture them using your whipcord (don't blast them they may be wanted Dead or alive, but usually you get more cash if they are alive). But sometimes they will try to run away. So use your jetpack to hunt your bounty (thus the name of the game Bounty Hunter). Well have fun and try to keep your thumb on the square.
| Star Wars-Bounty Hunter..........Unreal | | Rob Hasman from Flushing, Michigan of the good oL' U.S. of A. says (7/Jan/2003): | This is truly one of the best games I've ever played. It's the best of the Star Wars games that has come out since Jedi Outcast.
It has extremely good graphics, which is a must for a Play Station 2 game. Another good thing about this game is that you get so many types of weapons like the Comino Darts from Episode2, his dual chrome blasters, his flame thrower, and his jetpack. I'm on chapter 3 right now and I still haven't explored it all the way. Bounty Hunter is also one of the few games where you actually get to be one of the bad guys. Personaly I'm a big fan of the "Dark Side" and why wouldn't I be, cooler weapons, superior numbers and cooler lookin Star Fighters. By the way the Tie Interceptor is my favorite. Back to the topic anyways, I definitly recomend this game for Play Station 2. What's really fun is getting in gun fights with gangsters. They can't shoot really good in the beginning but they get better meaning you have to improve your skills instead of just staying a rookie. By the way, I've heard people in their reviews saying it's impossible to fly with the jetpack which is wrong. Thats one of my main ways of evading the enemy. Well anyways, next time you stop in the store or some other place selling PS2 games, be sure to pick this one up.You won't regret it. This game is totally.....UNREAL!!!!
| The best Starwars Game ever made | | A gamer from Richmond Indiana Usa says (22/Jul/2003): | This game rocks. It is also super difficult to beat. i am stuck on chapter 4!!!! But I used a cheat to unlock all levels. It is harsh when Komari Vosa (the final boss) kills you,she chops your head off!!!! Jango has the coolest array of weapons ever from 2 blasters to toxic darts. it is real kool how you can hunt secondary bounties. Montross is fun to fight espeshily the 2nd time you fight he is on a speeder shooting rockets at you. and the outtakkes are funny. but there are some glitches like in chapter 2 at the end of level two when the alien (Meeko) says stop[ that bounty hunter i am goin to my ship, one day he said that but he was a speeder!!! and in the moon of the dead at the begining Roz says somthing about how she is dead, later in the level she is talking to you over the intercom thingie. you also get rankings such as thug, bold assasin, and ruthless killer, but it is wierd sometimes i am ruthlees killer and other times i am bold assasin. the levels are hard like tusken canyon the tuskens are strong so are the massifs (the dog things) the tuskens sniper rifels are super strong, and some tuskens do have bounties on their heads most of them are worth more dead but if you get them alive they will be krayt dragon food ( gardulla the huts krayt dragon that is)
| The Greatest Star Wars Game ever | | Snap from Baltimore, MD says (27/Dec/2002): | Bounty Hunter.. hey.. what can I say, besides what everybody else has said; This Game is GREAT!!!!!!!!!!!!. One of the best Star Wars games ever, if not the BEST. You know, I use to be a big Jedi fan,..now though, my mind has changed. After playing this game, bounty hunting is the name of the game. Aside from the stunning graphics, frantic characters running about as I come blazing for the baddies, the assume weaponry ( True Bounty hunter gear: double laser pistol, flam-blower, Jetpack rocket launcher, etc) and the true to Star Wars character dialogue. The meeting of the two bounty hunters that will create Bobby Fett, couldn’t have come together any better then this. Also, the way they introduced the Slave 1 ship was cool, I was wondering how they would do it. The over-all game play is amazing. I have played many other shooter games, but this one takes the cake…extremely cool game. I am currently on Chapter 5 and it keeps getting harder and harder..bring it on. I hope they make a Bounty Hunter 2. My rating for this game is a 10 fro Best game ever. A must buy….no need to rent this game, buy it and began the Hunt!!
| Best damn game in da house | | mike mockler from Stockton-On-Tees says (22/Jan/2003): | This game is the best i have ever played it shows a lot about
the story of jango fett the game is a bit hard at times. I have played every level but since i got it i havent been able to destroy the police gunship on the 3rd level of low lifes in high
places.but all the other things about the game are great the arsenal of weapons is great my favorite is the sniper rifle. i like the fact it introduced the kamino cloning deal. as for the idiots who wouldn't buy this game you should get your lazy butt's into a shop and rent or buy this game and I would bet my PS2 on the fact you will love this game. the grafics are great and when you get a flame thrower if you burn someone with it you can even here the fire. i am a bit annoyed that the jet pack only lasts about 5 seconds but i guess this makes the game more chalenging. just to say when you get to the last chapter watch out for the baddies they are solid to kill unless you use the flame thrower and there are tons of them.
just in case the people who made this game read this please for the love of god make a bounty hunter2 boba fett.
| godly | | Siege from birkenhead, England says (10/Jan/2003): | well wow? this game truly shows jango fett in his true colours as the most feared man in the universe. in fact playing this game make you wonder why he died after 3 shots in episode 2, he should have at least had a 5 minute battle with mace. anyway the graphics are great, the jetpack has limited fuel which i like, it would be too easy if you could just fly accross the map to complete a leavel, but they could have made the bosses more difficult, my fingers are so fast that i fire faster than my mates rapid fire button on his controller so the bosses died in about 20 seconds with only minimal damage to me.other than that this is a game that anybody who likes fast action will enjoy. its the best gun totting masicre since devil may cry.
please for the love of god if you have any sense buy star wars bounty hunter.
go on do it now.. yes you get off your but and go the game shop or order online.
i said now!, oh and if the game company is watching make bounty hunter 2 Bobba fett or ill hunt you down for a well earned bounty!
| Jango can perform kinds of wicked stunts | | Rancor Killer from England says (22/Dec/2002): | Well, what can i say but WOW. The Game Must be one of the most incredible Star Wars games ever released for Ps2. I have to admit i did only get the game on Thursday and im now on chapter 3 so some levels are easier than others. Jango can perform all kinds of wicked stunts including : rolls, flips and if u fall from a high distance Jango will grab onto a ledge with one mere hand, hanging over a endless chasm (cool).
I think fighting the beast in the Arena on Chapter 1 Dead Or Alive : Meeko is such a cool way to start bounty hunter. The beast isnt that a hard opponent and its pretty slow so it gives you a chance to get to know Jango and all his cool moves and weapons.
A part of the game im certainly gonna enjoy is getting to meet that Sarlacc look alike and pretend to get revenge for poor Boba Fett after his annoying demise in the real Sarlaccs belly.
One thing i dont understand is how the HELL Jango is gonna defeat a Derranged Mad Jedi with only his everyday villain weapons.
This game is a deffinate 2 thumbs up !!
| If you see a guy with battle armor and dual blasters, your screwed! | | nicholas from Beverly Massachucets says (5/Jan/2003): | This game rocks!I just rented it yesterday, and I've beaten it.It is so awesome! The graphics look so much like the movies. And when Jango threatens someone,he keeps his cool.I like hunting down the extra bounty, and killing every non bounty in site. The music is an I don't know, because I can't really here it.I also like how it shows how Jango got the Slave 1.I always thought he always had the Slave 1.The gameplay is superb. And the frame rate is very good.It is not to long, not to short. The fun factor is very high and the controls are easy to learn. This game is an origonal,it might as well be its own game series. There are two things I don't like about it.The jet pack is practicly useless because it only flies for about 4 second and the enemies can take more damage than you.Other than the two things just said, this game is awesome. The loading could be a little faster, but no game is perfict.I hope you play this at least once in your life, otherwise your missing one of the top ten ps2 games in my opinion.Good luck!
| Best Game EVER!! JANGO FETT ALL THE WAY! | | Jango Fett from Washington, U.S. of A. says (22/Dec/2002): | This game is the best! You get to use all those weapons(dual pistols, flamethrower, poison darts, rocket launcher, big blasters, thermal grenades, and you just can't forget those jetpack missiles!)I gave it a 10/10 for me the first time I saw a preview! It rules!I'm sure this is excellent for Jango and/or Boba Fett fans, one of which I am. It has great graphics, and all those levels and planets are awesome. I really like that jetpack-the old fashioned jumping just doesn't cut it anymore. Some places were there are just like doors or vents really make you look around and think, and there isn't a strait, set path with road signs with a billion gaurds like certain games-you really have to think. Overall, this is surely the best game I have ever played. And on level 18, is there a quicker way to beat K. Vosa? I just keep tying her up and punching her, but it is still fun to beat her up and dodge her. Oveall, the best and funnest game ever! Now, if they would only make a Star Wars: Bounty Hunter 2...
| GREAT | | A gamer says (22/Nov/2002): | I bought it today and could barely put it down to eat or drink definatly for any star wars fan or action fan alike A MUST HAVE. The Graphics make it an almost movie like effect as you jump off balconys and fly into windows with your jet pack blaster pistols blazeing, there are not a lot of weapons available but the ones you do get are worth it, the blaster pitols, toxic darts, restrainment wire, and helmut scanner you get from the very start of the game allowing you almost all of the available armaments. the voice acting is not over done and is actually worthy of a star wars game. Last but not least the sound, perfect in almost every way, shots of falling enemies dozens of weapons fireing common people conversations along with pleas of fear as they see you walk by calling out "im worth more dead then alive" or "there is no price on my head" in conclusion if you like star wars and are intrigued with jango fett or just the bounty hunter prosona i suggest picking this game up as soon as possible
| is this the best star wars game ever? people say so and be prepared for this | | Devin Eash from marshalltown,IA says (6/Mar/2003): | think about this have you ever marked a bounty have you ever used blaster pistols and lock on two people at once well if you haven't you should this is a game called Star Wars: Bounty Hunter the reviews on this game are awsome thats why I rated this game so high all my friends who'v seen this game or played it loved it. here are some features about the game you are Jango Fett from episode 2 (Boba Fett's dad)id you'r not sure he fights Obi One Konobe on Komeno island in the rain. well you'r rivel in the game is Montross he was once a friend of yours and Jango and Montross go for the bounty name Kamari Vosa worth 5 million frederation credits and the wepons you use is federation posion darts, duel blaster pistols, raid of rockets, rockets, sniper rifle, flamethrower, whip cord to trap bounties, id scanner to hunt bounties, the graphics of thew game are farely good, the gameplay is very challanging, the video is nice the sound affects are just like the movie.
| I Garrett Carter solemnly swear that . . . | | Garrett James Carter from Klickitat, USA says (1/Jun/2003): | THIS IS THE BEST GAME. The graphics are so detailed you can see every last paint chip if you look close enough. The only problem is that I am not exactly the best player. But I am sure that all of you who are natural-game-players (N.G.P.) will beat the game so fast you wont even know what happened. With the assist of the entire arsenal of the real Jango Fett in episode2: the jetpack, the flamethrower, the laser, the spinneretts, and the Heat seeking missile. You will be virtually invincable and unstopable!! And as for all you unnatural-game-players (U.N.G.P.) like myself, you can have some fun just playin' around like in the first mission killing stuff, and unfortunatly if you happen to kill everything, you can restart the mission, or kill those wierd looking lizard-like creatures that happen to pop up every once in a while. Well, that is only a breif review of all of the awsome things about Bounty hunter. So thats all folks.
| Frickin Outrageous | | Chris Salerno from Pittsburgh, USA says (7/Jan/2003): | This game has kept me enthralled during my limited time that I have to myself. The weapons are awesome. Graphics are the BEST! Action and pace are great.
Only minor things are that some of the weapons, ie sniper, just don't seem to work right for me. I don't like that you can't kill a NEXU with a missle.
I don't at all mind the limited boost time of the jet pack. It adds to the difficulty of game play, which in my opinion makes the game that much more challenging and fun.
This game keeps you on your toes! With the bootomless pits / aforementioned Nexu / Bad guys shooting at you / Skeetos attacking and all of the rest.
If you have been waiting to get Bounty Hunter... For gawd sakes why. Don't deprive yourself of the best game of 2002/2003! GO OUT AND BUY "Star Wars: Bounty Hunter"
Long Live Jango.......well, I guess it's a little to late for that.
| Coolest New game on PS2 | | A gamer from Anderson, South Carolina, USA says (31/Dec/2002): | Probably one of the best games I've ever played. It takes you deeper into the underworld of the Star Wars universe, a side never shown in games. Also, the music is great. This is a Star Wars game after all. It pops in at all the right moments, and keeps you on your toes. The gameplay is awesome. The jetpack is a great element to the game. The weapons sound great, and the voice acting isn't choppy and dull. It sounds just like Episode 2. The controls are easy to learn, and storyline is just cool. It does get annoying when you get all the way to the boss battle, and then run out of continues. I love the secondary bounties. It adds a great side quest, even when your bounties fall off a cliff. With intense firefights, great story, awesome cutscenes, and cool sound, this makes a nice game for anyone who is an action fan.
| Star Wars vesion of 007 | | cor2sith from Sutton, WV says (23/Nov/2002): | This game is like James Bond (with a jetpack and a flamethrower). If you like beeting up bad guys, tourching innocent people, and flying this is the game for you. The graphics are amazing, made by ILM "Industial Light and Magic" the people who made Watto, CG Yoda, Jar Jar Binks and so on... The game is a little hard to get use to but you're guided through the whole thing. The sound is like any Star Wars game the music is only on when something bad is about to happen. It is kinda like alot of games but none of them has a main character like this. Shooting lazer guns, doing flips, flying, climbing, etc. never gets OLD! So in conclusion, I HIGHLY recommend this game to any Star Wars fan.
If I misspelled anything oh well you'll get over it. :P
| Wicked Fun | | Buffalo Ripley from Dallas, Tx says (27/Dec/2002): | Playing this game definately appeases my bad side. I find the poison darts to be utterly sinful. At first the controls are a bit intimidating and you have to concentrate more on your finger movements than the splendor of this game. Then you reach enlightenment and all hell breaks loose and you _are_ Jango Fett. The graphics are smooth even during when things get a little hot for our bounty hunter. I just love the blaster marks left in the walls after fights. Just a little extra that truly makes a difference when appreciating this game and how well it's made. I've only had it a day (mighty fine Christmas gift) and can't wait till I really get in the soup. Every gamer should have this game. It really gives you a workout and gosh darn if it doesn't make you want seconds.
| Best Star Wars game in a long time... | | Blake from Chatham, Illinois says (28/Nov/2002): | This game is so much fun, not only do you get to explore the Star Wars Expanded Universe, you get to explore the people as well. I am only half way through it and it is getting incredibly tough to beat some of the missions, but you actually feel like you are Jango Fett blasting and demolishing everything that is in your way. The game follows a storyline that is a tangent to Episode 2, and it explains how Jango came to own Slave One. The gameplay is simple yet stunning, and you will find yourself playing for hours at a time. Though the bonus features are nothing spectacular, this game is well worth $50. If you like Star Wars this is the game you need. It beats any other Star Wars game that I have ever played, and that is pretty much every Star Wars game ever made.
