this game is the best game i ever played, like out of all the shooting games i played nothing has beat this not even metal gear solid 2 , the graphics are crazy its almost realistic and the sound is .. i dont even know how to explain it , all i can say is you'll feel in a whole diffrent world when you play, and to top it off they added a mic so you can talk to you our own team mates!! ... and you can not only say "follow" , you can give them complex commands like ," bravo lead to foxtrot , and leave to after you lead me there." or " clear room and kill each other and the funny one is to commit suiside they'll actually do it ." if you want to know about the online game play .. taht also a big thing of the game .. your allowed to talk to your team mates while you play on a team .........
the bad thing about the game is that you only have a few chances before you die or if you get shot in the head you would oiously die , or in the chest 4 times you die or in the legs 6 or 7 ... but theres no way to prevent the opponent killing you because there no food rations or bandadges ,or anything like taht so its basicly one shot to do the mission ...
but it teaches you to not screw up and it gives you a good look on what will happen next....so have good playing

This game also has awsome graphics and good levels and even better (camofloge) you can go prone and stealth and kill enemies silently man i could go on and on but i shall stop so you should go buy this awesome game......

This game rocks the box!!! It is so amzing I just can't stop playing it. It is so realistic about the real adventures of a navy seal. Again its the most amazing game i've played! i love all the fighting and crap!!! It's awesome and the graphics are amazing!!

Basically you had one bad expierence on the 9th level and you all pi$$ed about it cause everybody else did it fine and you didn't so you're giving the game a bad rating. Socom is awesome and I'm not saying you're not entitled to your opinion but it's like me saying that Vice City is just ok, obviousely if one little expierence pi$$es you off that much you do not have the patience of a true gamer.

SOCOM definatly is a good game but it also has a downside. Like one time in the 9th level (which is the longest level in any game i've played) i told bravo to clear a room. when they started clearing they obviously missed the guy standing in front of them, so me and my whole team get mowed down by this guy who was standing in front of team bravo. don't get me wrong its a good game the graphics are awesome and the idea is exellent but it lacks a lot of major elements. I wish that the whole team was smarter and could make descisions by themselves.I give this game a 7.

This is one of the best games I have ever played, EVER. Despite Boomers constant screw ups, he dosent always listen to your orders. This can be dealt with however. Just shoot him in the head. Thats that. It is a really good game even with the mess ups. Say what you want, but it was really worth the 63.00 Dollars I paid for it.

Well ive been playing socom online since the middle of aug about a week after it came out i was online.As a game its ok as a online game its smokin.You play best 6 out of eleven ,which in my mind is the greatest .Through the tunnel on the left 3 games in a row them suckers are dropping like fly`s on crap .I look at my kills i have 10 in 3 rounds woooeeeee i`m gonna be mvp.But wait them little idiots got smart, after dying 3 times in a row they decided to ambush me , 2 get on the temple up above and send a cpl of m67`s my way i go down,scrambling to get on my feet 2 more come out on the sides and i`m toast.After another attempt if i was to go that way i`m the little idiot .But i called for back up we got nailed with claymores but took 2 out with us .dam 4 -3 for us there gaining .We need another plan guys are getting pissed at each other our morale is going down .One dude sayin we gotta pull it together .Next round was a draw .Ok it`s 2 in the morning and i gotta work in 3 hours but were gonna win this one.we won i didn`t get mvp another teamate ps2 freak got like 19 kills.Me i had 14.Its now 4 in the morning.typing this in between deaths .i gotta get to bed but i have 3 more rounds to go maybe .I think i have the flu :)oo meek mackki glock or the tannabaum flu over and out.ACE

This game rocks. I have read some of the other stuff about what is wrong, I am sorry but I have yet to shoot Boomer because he got in the way. I have also had enough whining about "I need a save spot, or I died and do not get a re-do". TOUGH- life is tough, you die you start over. You constantly learn, evaluate, change tactics etc... I think this game is way cool, from the graphics to the headset. Noth'in is better than stalk'in the badguy then slitting his throat unless it is for real!!

First of all I would like to say my one wish....I wish this game would let me sleep. Single player action is outstanding..it does have its problems IE bommer is stupid at times but well Most of the rainbow six titles have that AI problem. I got to level 8 on esign and let me tell you it was not easy. Do not judge this game on the first two levels . They are for practise mostly. OK next issue....
Online play!
Yes its a broadband only game and for all of you griping about that i dont recommend buying an XBOX to go online cuz its broadband only.. Anyways back to SOcom online. You can play up to 16 players at once 8 on each team. Lots of great maps. Theres nothing like hiding in the middle of a river in the bushes where no one except god can see you and suddenly blasting away at the enemy as he or she crosses your lane of fire. Also being able to talk to your teammates via the headset to give commands or point out enemy positions... All in all this game is worth buying. Just be prepared to spend alot of time playing this game.. its almost like a drug..

the single player mode was ok but i spent little time playing it and found some of the objectives to be vauge. i hurried to play the online version. the fact that you need high speed internet to play is in my opinion a good idea. it reduces lag. the servers are not up to par, i get booted off all the time. the inacuracy of the weapons is really anoying sometimes. the biggest glitch is the L3 paddle. it controls your characters movement which is ok but if pressed it changes your weapons fire rate. i have died countless times because of my rate of fire changing while trying to dodge enemy fire. the fact that some walls can be walked through and boxes entered is a mistake as well. it seems the game was released with limmited testing. another annoyance is the double kill. for crying out loud! how can we both die at the same time! make it one or the other. its already bad enough that sometimes youre shooting at someone with red crosshairs for about an hour and they take only one shot and kill you instantly.

Yes, I have read of people talking very bad about this game. I own it and have played it for a few weeks. I beat it and got to the Lt. Junior Grade. And indeed the game only gets harder. But this is no reason to say that this game is a bad or above average game because the accuracy of the camo, the guns, and the enviroments or even the game play. What kind of game would it be if it was too easy or a game that a seven year old could play and beat it. I would like to play on line and create my own world game play. And as for the people that talk about how hard the crosshairs in the sniper mode are bad. The developers of this game made it like real life seeing as how BREATHING affects the accuracy. But in the view before the sniper mode it is much more suitable for an ameuter to control. Well if you have any questions E-mail me.

This game is one of the best games I have ever played. It's hard, but not too hard, is addicting and worth the money. It has it's downfalls though, if you die, the entire mission is failed (as opposed to Rainbow 6, where you take over your partner), broadband only online play, and one rifle but and you're dead. You would think that the other three people would shoot someone running at you...other than that the game is great!

The graphics are great, got some great ideas, it just seems they didn't complete the ideas. For one the chopper sweep in the 4th level, hey thats cool, but what about when the chopper comes to extract morgan? THe chopper comes in blazing away at the wall!? whats that all about? The AI is well, for lack of a better word, retarded-like. I mean, how many people do you know that once they are shot, and are not quite dead, get up and start walking non-chalantly down they're current path? If it were me i'd be heading to the nearest possible cover and get my head down until i figure out where the heck that shot came from. I agree with JB Alis as far as being able to control individual SEALs, to set up a good ambush (like in Conflict:Desert Storm). Maybe they should have contacted Gotham Games and had them help design the game. Another thing i dont like is how, if you die....you start allll over again. Maybe its the impatient part of me talking but i'd like a save point here and there. Dont get me wrong, the graphics and ideas are awesome, very awesome, i just dont think that this game was ready to hit the stores just yet.

I play this game offline and I still think its great. Why is everyone saying the offline single player game isnt good? I havent tryed online yet cause I dont have Broadband, but single player is still a blast. If you like action games like Medal of Honor Frontline (which Socom is alot superior to Medal of Honor Frontline), then you must buy this game just to play it. Online or not.

If you think about it, Socom US navy seals is probably the best navy seals game up to date. If you consider the levels, the AI intelligence, and the harsh conditions and out-numbered opponents you face the game is challenging yet not to the point anyone 13years old and up cannot handle. Im up to level 9 so far and I can't seem to set the controller down. If you have patience, keep to the shadows and stay low, keep your gun SD(Silenced) and you will not have problems alerting enemies and your game play will be much more enjoyable. If you like this game and you have the internet i'd suggest buying other games such as Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear and Rainbow Six: Black Thorn. You can play online up to 16 players on your team, either with or against you or you can play against eachother in hotels,shopping malls, airports, convention centers, etc... check it out later gamers

I have been playing for a week now. got up to the 11th level. haven't got through it yet. The graffics are good. but I feel they need more stability on the zoom scopes, they jump far to much. The game is fun but also flustrating. You can tell boomer to do much. it would be better if you could tell each man on the team to hold a certain position. that way you could have more control on setting up an ambush. and make them a little smarter, I think it kinda down grades the Navy seal in a way as when I have told them to deploy frag and the blow themselve or myself up. I like the origionality. I feel it's needs more work though. I would like to see more control on the team. Weapons, and throwing the granades. Maby I am to serious of a player. but when I go to shoot an enemy and boomer steps right in fron of me and gets shot. he need to be able to be told to hold position also. and also. when I have given the order to fire at will and they all just sit there and let me or themselvs get shot. then start losing intrest. Haven played on line. don't have the equipment. But I have found sometimes if I just shoot Boomer and put him out of his dumbness and tell the others to hold I get a lot farther on the missions. Wish Sombody would make a good one that actually works right. with a lot of missions and a mission editor.

I love this game! I just ordered the online adaptor and cannot wait for it to get here. I hear the online play will be the best asset to the game and a pioneer to ps2's online gaming. TH graphics are perfect, but the gameplay seems a little boring. Yes you sneak around killing people and taking hostages and stuff, but its been done before. The game is predictable and very easy some of the time and other times it is impossible.

I bought SOCOM: US Navy Seals the day it came out. I was expecting to be blown away, but was a little disappointed. It almost felt like they released a game that just wasn't ready to be released. Don't get me wrong, it's not a terrible game, it's just not as good as I expected.
LIKES:
- Graphics were pretty good overall.
- 3 or 4 different views: Behind, First Person, Infrared, Binocular or Sniper (depending on the weapon)
- For the most part it's a fun game
DISLIKES (Oh, where do I start???):
- Maybe it's just my game, but I have no way to slowly move my crosshairs, especially during sniper mode. The reticle seems to jump rather than track. This gets particularly frustrating when you're trying to line up a head-shot and your crosshairs move all over the screen rather than the guy's head.
- Sometimes you have the guy's head cleanly lined up, and your shot will miss him completely, or act like a body shot where the bad guy will double over, then get up and continue walking his route.
- The headset they give you is more of a gimmick than a useful tool, unless you're using it to talk to somebody via the internet gameplay. Which brings me to my next dislike...
- In order to play via the internet, you MUST have Broadband or DSL? And I believe you need to buy a Network Adapter before you can plug in?
- Sometimes your enemies will miraculously see you and blast away at you before you ever have a chance to see them. Not that you just overlooked them, but as if they weren't there a second ago when you cleared that area.
- It seems like they spent more time creating the Documentary than they did the game. Don't get me wrong, the Documentary was very informative and fun to watch, but it shouldn't have been better than the game.
Overall, it's not as bad as I make it seem. Once you start playing the game, the dislikes become more of a nusiance than anything else, but they're nuisances that shouldn't have been there. I loved playing Rainbow Six on my PC and thought this would be a great equal for it on the PS2, but in the end it just doesn't measure up.
