Socom U.S navy seals has a fantastic graphic point of view and weaponary experience... but it is a little edgey seeing that it is one of the first games to be released with the AI voice. Don't get me wrong this game rules other military or army games but when u select a command such as " run to Juillet, Delta, foxtrot... etc... " they walk instead and whilst walking there they get shot enemys near by and killed, even when u have the "fire at will" command on. the game should of been a little more thought of really before the release. Also your team mates names are a little weird... kahuma? Jester? Specture? Boomer? ... can't i at least put some decent names in. anyway this game just reaches my expectations so buy it if u want the long hassle of 12 levels and have patience to wait for your team mates to do what they do. I just hope to sweet jesus that "Resident Evil Biohazard"(released 2004) isn't the same seeing that you use the AI also for that. Peace out people!

This game is simply the most amzing on-line game I have ever played. The only draw back,and it is getting worse, is the unbelievable amount of cheating taking place. I can not think of one match in the last month or so that it did not get invaded by some type of cheat. I actually got frustrated enough to avoid playing the game for a few weeks. SONY definately has to do something about it such as they did in Madden football. I do not foresee buying Socom II untill this matter is addressed. The type of cheating going on makes the game useless to play and quit annoying to find a fair game.

This is a tight game. Definitely one of the most interactive games that I have played. This is more realistic than I thought. The graphics are good, the weapons are very interesting, and it's just flat out good fun! I think that the game makers need to make the team think like real people. Theres nothing worse than a player trying to hide behind a tree or rock, and the rest of your retarded team decides they want to go on a shooting spree and die instantly. How come there is no command to tell Boomer to hold position? He is a freakin idiot. Every time i try to secretly kill someone, here he comes running up behind me, then we all get shot because enemies can see you through grass and rocks. There is no way that some of those enemies should be able to see you through thick brush a quarter mile away. I have to zoom in 16x just to see them, but they can see me through bushes and shoot and kill me with 3 bullets. It is always fun to blow your team up with claymore mines though. But otherwise than Boomer, this is definitly a winner!

If your playing on easy, the game is playable, graphics best on any platform Ive seen, and ease of control,awesome. But after you complete the easy mode, your teammates suddenly become your worst nightmare, "team hold position" doesnt mean continue running into the open and getting your butt shot off, does it? When you throw a grenade, you dont run to it and make sure its going to work, do you? When faced with a gun, enemy or friendly, you dont wait to get shot in the head, do you? And the last time I checked my common sense, you dont run in front of a pointed gun, run out into the open, fire your weapon when told to hold fire, good god, I only hope whoever makes Socom 2 uses a tad bit of real life common sense in situations where you can/should use it. Overall the game is awesome, but wow, how freaking stupid is the AL? Better off shooting all your teammates if you could, just so you could stealth your own butt to the finish.

What an amazing game ! The headphone makes it very cool, aldo sometimes the PS2 doesn't 'hear' you (especially "Bravo" and Ättack to").
I gave the game a nine because it's not perfect yet, The AI (Boomer, Jester and Spectre) are so stupid sometimes, the get themselves killed by snipers without taking cover. Or they throw a grenade at you instead of your crosshairs and so killing you !Improve the AI in Socom II and I'll be there...

This game was pretty good I thought it was going to totally suck but I was wrong. It was about the best 3rd person shooter that I have ever played. It is extremely realistic and the gun selection is very good. I liked all of the different scenarios in it and the different kinds of enemies.(like the afghans, lol) It was all around a good game. I did not grow tired of it, the whole time I was playing. It has a lifespan of a week or so (if you play nonstop) or a couple months for all you people that have lives! But it was a great game and I recommend it to everyone.

dude, it is so awesome-im on the 6th level and even though i suck at it i still have fun-sweetness-totally-its been the only game in my console for about a week and trust me that takes alot- this game has even gotten me thinkin bout a career in the navy-so even if it has som subliminal advertising(LOL) it still has great action and gunfights and forces you to move stealthily and stuff

i have played the single player and i am not too into it because i just wanna go and shoot everyone up....doesnt work. online is my favorite summer past time. i luv it. they should and will add great things on socom 2. i like the guns, graphics, and simulation. i have watched my dad on single player and those guys are retards....they forget things. i have never known a seal with ADD...i do love what they have done online and will be playing online till socom 2 comes out and then i'll be smoking it online...just for the record i can hear my dad right know yelling at that gay boomer.

Let me start off by saying, this is an awesom game. It seems so real at times, and so annoying how easily the enemies can take you out at times. The AI needs a lot of work. If i don't find them staring at enemies guns just waiting to get shot, not running from exploding grenades (or acually running towards them sometimes), or even shooting me. The team is a bunch dumb< remove me > at $$'s. They need to be able to see more and acually report it, or shoot it themselves. Maybe a few more headset commands, smarter team mates and some more levels would make this game or future games better.

This game is the best. We beat the whole game in 20 days. And fuk was it hard. And there is two of us writing this, and we want to give the seals a try. That would be soooooo cool to join. And both of us are only 13, and to anyone who dosent have this game get it. Youll thank youre selfs you did. And the headset idea rocks. But I got to warn you the levels are hard.

The graphics are good and the guns are sweet and realistic, but the game needed much more work before it hit stores. The AI walk right in front of my shots and get themselves shot. They don't fire at will when i tell them to and they get themselves and me shot. I plant a c4 on a wooden door were you ahve to capture bad dog, and my teammates stay there and dont leave it even if there is c4 right on it. I tell them to regroup and come to me because i am away from door and wont get hurt from explosion. But they dont listen and stand there and get blown up. I tell my teammates to Attack to a certain point like Juliet or something, and they just walk there and if they get shot at, they fall down, get up like nothing happened and keep walking and get themselves killed. Then once i lose all the retarded teammates, i fail the mission and cant continue without them. Many times i will tell them to breach bang and clear, and they throw the grenade or flashbang at the wall instead of in the door and blow me and themselves up. Also they get shot at and stand there like nothing happens and get killed. I HATE the retarded AI in this game. It totally sucks, it is pointless. And that stupid lady telling you what to do all the time. I just want to turn her off or find her and knife attack her. And the sensativity sucks, but just go to options>controller options and turn it way down, then it is easy to snipe and line up fatal shots. The game has great graphics and sweet weapons, but the AI suck, and enemies pop out of nowhere and kill you before you even notice them or can do a thing. Dont buy this game, just wait until the second or third version of SOCOM comes out and read some reviews and see if it is worth buying. I wouldny buy this game, maybe just rent it to see what im talking about or of you like it or not. But it is way hyped up and isnt that good. Many negative points ruin this game.

socom is one of the best killing games i have ever played.the 3D effectsare so good its like your acutilyin the combat area,the missons are a little hard but if you keep trying you will get it.plus its a relly good price to get it for so if you dont have it buy it.

I just recently purchased this awesome game. I went to Target bought it for $59.99 + tax. And let me tell you. I was awd and amazed by the quality of the graphics and realism. I love the whole "Head set" idea cuz I can make my commando dudes do things just by vioce. Do not buy this game without the "Headset"!!! There would be no point and you would be better off buying Ghost Recon. I lovet his game though. Just when I thought Metal Gear Solid 2 was the baddest off the bad asses SOCOM came along. But Metal Gear is still my all time fav. Hands down, Socom gets a 10.

Socom is probably the very best game for PS2. The technology on Socom is even excellent its like having an Xbox live on your PS2!!!!!!! You can even talk to the game and it will respond. Verry cool. I cant get enough of this game, very pricy, but worth the money.

Socom US Navy Seals is a great game, reason being is for one the graphics, when I play games like this I look closley at just about every aspect...the way the seals move, very smooth,the speed of an attack...creeping up on an enemy and slicing his neck and the abilty to drag his dead corpse away into the darkness,as well as the fact that the maps and lighting are perfect, the way an enemy can radio for backup at the slightest sound of you moving covertley around his cabin deep in the congo jungle taking out key personal, or even moving about in the jungle and telling bravo team to hold there position while your-self and boomer take up a place high on a ridge overlooking the guard routs then useing your headset (another great aspect) to comand bravo team to ambush the curent group of guards walking there way then watching them set themselves up in hiding spots and wait for and enemy to come walking along, and watch how they kill them quietley and covertley while you and boomer are sniping any enemy theat might be trying to flank your team and on your flank having already placed claymour mines so that you dont have to wory about being flanked your-self.Its features like this that makes this game great...how often in games do you get to watch enemys through NVG and wait till he passes you by then you run out from your consealed position lay a mine down and progress to the next guard....by the time you have breached the compound people start blowing up...placing c4 explosives at key locals and watching as enemy pass by and get there right sind of there bodys completeley blown into peices or the ability to shoot fragmention rounds in to a sniper tower and know for a fact the that sniper is dead or firing he rounds into buildings and watching the doors blow strait off, these are the things that make my-self and my friends love this game also the other reason I realley love this game is becuase I served six years in the U.S. Navy Seal's, thank you for reading my review. (best military game out there in this vets mind)

SOCOM, SOCOM, SOCOM! It's great, the graphics, online play, single player mode, all of it. I got It for christmas about 2 years ago and could only play single player because I didn't have broadband or a network adapter. But until I got them the single player mode was the best thing ever out of any game I've ever played (and trust me I've played alot of games)! The graphics are the best out of all the games that I've ever reviewed or seen reviewed besides GTA 3 & 4 and The Sims. The online play has to be the best out of any of the online games on both PS2 and XBox. The sound is brilliant, the gun fire, foot steps, movement of foliage, and any other small details in real life are priceless. The Smoothnes is great too. All I can say about this game is it's the best.

I play alot, hours and hours at a time and I test out every game there is. This by far is the best game ever constructed and why not... they consulted with REAL Navy Seals to get it right. I have high speed internet and have tried the online gaming, I just hate playing with hacks and cheats so I don't bother playing mulitplayer on broadband. I'm on the 10th level as a "Lieutenant Jr. Grade" one up from "ensign" it hard already and you still have to make it to Admiral. You are awarded new weapons and stuff for your new rank. Great work with this game. My only "beef" is that they stopped with only a few voice commands. I think this is what really immerses you in the action. I hope Socom 2 will focus on more voice interaction because everything else is near perfect.

This game was truly the best game ever made. The graphics are unbeleivible! No other army or seals game i ever played had the realisticness this had. the blood, the gunshots, the clearity. Everything was great! I could play this game over and over again ( i do). The online gameplay was the best feature in the game. If you dont got a headset ( because of difficulties) get a new one. This game rocked online gameplay off the charts! The controls of the game are good too. You can choose some different settings which is good. One of the best things in the game is the headset. I was surprised that the game talks back to you. Like if you blow up an outhouse boomer says " guess ill have to hold it eh sir? its really a great game. I play it like 24/7. mostly online. oh and for people who have never played online. they have alot of different levels.

SOCOM ROXXX!!!! it is the best game i have ever played!!! it is very challenging and is very realistic! I LOVE THE SNIPER MODE!!! it makes it so realistic! Kuhunas heart beats (if u listen good enough) and it moves around like u would if u were there! HEADSET ROXXX! i like how you can use it on the comp and its very helpfull when ur team spots an enemy so you know to be ready! there are only 2 things i dislike about SOCOM 1. once u die(which can be very easy) or do something wrong on a mission...you must start the whole thing over!!! and the missions can take a LONG time to beat! i am on the 10th misson now AND BOY IS IT HARD AS HELL!! there are a total of 12 missons and I here about SOCOM 2 :):):)-O YAH and 2. U NEED FREAKING BROADBAND CONNECTION!!! WTF SCREW LAG!!! that is such a fkn rip off!!! i aint paying 50$ to play online!! :P:P:P
BUT OVERALL IT IS AN AWESOME GAME!!! I HOPE YOU ALL DECIDE TO GET IT!!!

Possibly the best game designed. So realisic, very inspiering, and very addictive. Still stuck on the tenth level but getting there. Though online there are some real $#< remove me > at !s and Bsers. In fact, I hope to join the seals or give it a try even for the low pay just the thrill is good enough. Better than being a marine going on a death trip.
