this is one of the best games ever. i have read some of u other guys dislike comments and i thought u people is stubid. for example, one little dude said the aiming ar too fast. well u can customize it in the option sector. the game has real good graphics and is really realistic. remember, its not the game thats bad, it the one who played it thats bad at the game

Well i got this game for Christmas along with Grand Theft Auto-Vice city And also Ghost Recon, im into fighting games-(as in shooting em up)-It started when i used to Play...."guns" when i was younger-i developed a strong.....passion i guess you could say for the S.W.A.T. team(Special Weapons And Tactics)I neverreally was much of a swimmer and i thought that was all the Navy Seals did....guess i was wrong, im seriously giving some thought to this occupation-I play paintball and airsoft all the time so i get a clue how hard it is to be a seal and i really respect that.I think they made this game really realistic,ive read other ppl's opinion on boomer and i think their right he is stupid sometimes-but if you stop to think...he does help-most game send you by yourself on a mission.Think about that.....ppl who are just reading to see if they wanna buy this game-BUY IT!! its great-fun,realistic,entertaining,informing, this game comes with a headset for real voice commands and they work reaal easy i even tryed doing it with an accent!!the game is included with a long informative documentary that brings you through "Hell Week" As a navy seal in training. Buy this game it is awsome and if you like than you have my kind of taste so try "Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon",it is a great game and in case you are wondering like some of my other friends, it has nothing to do with ghost's it just means that the team is silent to strike uppon.Good luck Gamers and cheaters- dont be relutant to purchase this item.

Yeah, I know. That motto is really for the Army Rangers, but hey, who cares? SOCOM is one of the most realistic games created. I gave it a 10 because of its realism, such as how you can get killed in a few hits. Also, the game play is excellent! Although some levels are as hard as hell, Give it some time and you can master them. SOCOM is a really awesome game that gives you the virtual experience of a Navy Seal's life! In my opinion, it is one of the greatest games that will ever be created. Another cool thing to do is to go and buy a network adapter and play online with everyone else who owns the game. If you are smart and have a PS2, then buy this awesome game as soon as you can.

Well first of all I'd like to say that this game was really well done. Yes there are some things that people complain about but most of the nusciances are pretty trivial. When this game was made it was made with the frame of mind that the player would appreaciate the SEALs and realize how hard it is to do what they do, and have a great time while they're at it! Let me start by listing the bad things, wich there aren't many of.
-Boomer can be stupid. this is a problem that I have heard poeple constantly address.BUT, if you play the game as if you were reallay there, as if you were THE navy seal , then boomer will really come through for you. Seal missions aren't done in 15 minutes sometimes they'll take days, I'm not saying that one mission should take you days, but i usually would finish my missions within an hour and a half. If you take your time and play realisticly, then boomer won't be a problem!
-No save point. Well boo hoo! :( I mean c'mon the people who made this game were really trying to create somthing realistic here, and they did , and i think that some people can't handle it. PATIENCE IS THE NAME OF THE GAME!!!! Take your time and you'll have A's on all your missions.
And you won't need to save because you won't get shot
- The crosshairs are too hard to move. NOT REALLY! you have to get used to it. Like in real lilfe, you breathe, and this affects your aim. Practice and you'll get it down. Being a sniper is not an easy thing! It took me a while, but now I can camly and quickly pick enemies off with ease. Again PATIENCE is the key.
As for that , you can conclude that most of the problems that people are talking about are really their lack of patience and will. this is not a first person shooter kill all free for all game. It mimics real life war fare, wich is probly 100 times harder than the game.I'm not trying to bash any body here or say that I'm a better player, it's just that I found the game to be very realistic and I think that some people are to used to this fantasy game world where you can get "HEALTHS" and magically heal your bullet wounds. This game is not for those people!
The only complain that I would have is that I can only be Kahuna , but other than that it's GREAT!
-Graphics are great!!! The game is awesome when it comes to graphics! The shadows, the foot prints the details on the guns and so much more, i don't know where to start. Defenitley a great turnout on that one!
-Headset is awsome! whoever thought of that is making big $$$ right kinow. I think it's great. Especially since you can give commands to the computer players in single player mode.
Well i could go on and on and on, but i'll stop for now. But all in all let's remember that it's just a game, and what they've done with it so far is great!!!!!

this game is the best war game I have played yet if you liked medal of honor (which was a very fun game) then this is your game not to hard and not to easy the gamers dream if you like blood and guts and occasional four letter words then I suggest you buy this game.

This is by far the best game i have ever played!!!! The graphics are superb the weaponry is so awsome the headset is a very valuabe tool if you want to win. Socom US Navy Seals is the most realistic game i have ever played. I love it when you just skim a guy with a bullet, Sploosh! a big explosion of blood squirts out from whereever you shoot the guy. -Try this!: If you have a spare grenade and you spot a guy atop of a high hill/mountain, slowly creep to where you can get the grenade close enough to him so that it sends him flying then quickly pull out a gun and shoot his flying carcass and watch as the blood falls to the ground. Be careful because i've had a few (2-4)guys survive this and then kill me.- As i was saying, the game is very well made with a stratigic plot. Please don't use this against me but after what happened last year in NY i show no mercy for those terrorists. I got a enemy to surrendor as soon as he saw me coming with my men, got him down on the ground and ordered my men to kill him. I like how the headset works all you do is press square and give and comand -extra commands available with certain cheat!- Thats my review and if your just reading these reviews to decide if you want the game or not your wasting your time! Just go out and buy the game! You won't be disappointed, I know i'm not!

This game is unexplainable when it comes to tellin u how real it feels.You actually feel the gunshots,This is a half-to play Game.The head-set of this game is what makes this game so realistic.The graphics are great,and you get to go into every different challenging levels of any weather u can think of.This game is a challenging, new thrilling suprise to all game-players.This game will wipe you off your feet and when u start playin,it feels like u cant get out of the game alive.

i love this game, after playing this game and watching the 20 min doc on SEALs made me want to be a real SEALs. the grafics are awsome, the weapons are fun (but i uselly find my self stealing weapons from enemys). besides for the fact you cant blow up things with the c4 unless it is a objective kind of discuraged me but in the long run the game made up for that with the ability to shoot the dead and have blood spring from there bodys and stuff like that. although challenging at times (like the mission were you have to save the marine hostages) get on your nervs, soming so easy can be hard. the sound and video qualitys were good

Playing online is amazing when you are talking to people on the headset from all over the world. I have the game but cant play online because aol broadband sucks but my friend has it. It is the BEST game and I recommend everyone to buy it.

Socom kicks A$$. It's graphics are sweet. The online is better,but it's harder. I like how you can talk with your teammates during the game. I don't normaly play the regular game but it's good. Because one shot kills. I hate being a terrorist because of whats going on with Sep.11,2001. we will win this war!

this game is awesome!!!!!!!!! if you like shooters you should have this as we speak. if you have a ps2, run to the nearest store and buy it NOW! its amazingly realistic. the sniper sight shakes around, the people's feet actually go down in the snow (wow), and the guns have accurate recoil. some of the things sthe a.i. does are hilarious. on the 3rd level, i told bravo to bang/clear building c. you know how sometimes, when you put the bang down, it blows and the guys put their hands up? well this time one guy puts his hands up and the other doesn't. so the mean b< remove me > at stard shoots his own guy!!!(haha) but then he kills spectre so i blow his head off. and then some until he fades away. and i'm sorry, but its kinda cool that when you shoot the guy, his blood ends up on the wall 20 feet away.

The music makes you go to the bathrrom every 30 minutes! I love this game! I got to level 3 in 3 hours! Its trickey! But this game is awsome! Anyone wanna play online, TRY ME!

I tore open one present on chrstmas day which was a diiferent type of PS2 game then most of the others I have played yesterday. This game? SOCOM: us navy seals.
What can I say about this game? It's insane. the graphics, the sound, the whole headset idea, it's all ingenious. The only gripe I have is it needs a multiplayer mode. I swear, it needs one so bad if it had one this would be the best game of all time.
For some reason, it reminded me of rainbow six, but i loved rainbox six so that was most definetely a plus. Like somebody before me said, this is a great game, but it's not to be played by the easily frustrated!

Im only 13 And i love the game. How you can go online and kick ass,play with a friend, or make a friend. The Guns and bombs are great, tell ur team mates to throw frags at each other its funny. Excellent game! If you like shooters, definalty buy! Realistic weapons sounds/graphics..Movement of characters.. If they make another one, I do wish they would put some kind of two player mode in it (Without having to be online) able to link 2 PS2's together or split screen..Heck.. I would get 4 Ps2's if they were able to make linked games for 4 people.. this game really kicks < remove me > at < remove me > at < remove me > at !!! The realism may bug some people (Who just like to mow down everything and collect power ups!) Ok, nothing wrong with that! Heehee!. I like it cause you do have to watch your health like in real life, and your ammo count, even tho I carry more ammo then anyone around anyway.. 40 pounds of just ammo on top of other gear can get heavy, so watch it!! You can pick up the dead guy's weapon if you run dry,so no big deal.. Some parts may seem easy,cause if you aim well,you can charge straight in and mow em down without having to be stealthy, but in other areas, they go the opposite way with pin point enemy AI and blow your head off every time if you dont watch it!! At time of this I am stuck on the ambasador's rescue..second time thru, and the AI seems to have shot thru the roof for smarts!! Finally make it one time to the last door and the < remove me > at *#*< remove me > at empties a full magazine into me!!! Not a game for the easily frustrated!! And even tho the sniper rifles are one shot semi's. they are handy for long range kills...even tho autos are my favorites,,use the right tool for the job, even if it isnt your personel fav.. I love this game, but the controls on it are just freaken horrible. The analog stick on the ps2 is just too touchy. It's extremely difficult to have precision firing/movement while playing. I've tried all the settings and found that there is no substitute for a mouse/keyboard configuration for a FPS (first person shooter) game. If they would have incorporated the same technology used in unreal tournament and allowed us the option to use the keyboard/mouse it would definately be in my all time favorite games list. Besides this down fall, the game itself is simply fantastic, the levels are beautiful and add to the intensity of the game. Plus the AI is worth a challenge as you gain higher ranks. The one thing that stands out for this game is it's support player communique. The NPC (non playable characters), your teammates can take orders and carry them out, although at times they do get you a bit frustrated. just make sure to give the command "fire at will" when enemies are around or else it's likely that they just stand there and get shot up! LOL
I give this game a 8 it would have been 7 if it wasn't for the newly added headphone and mike hardware.

How do you begin describing this game. It is absolutley the best game for anyone.. I'll start with the graphics, there incredible, the best I've seen for shooters, highly detailed in every aspect to the shadows, to the light from the grenades blowing, to the gun shot light, the sound is just as could, I have a surround sound for my PS2 and it sounds like your right in the action it's incredible, the gameplay is excellent, you can't get much more realistic than this, the missions are challenging, the added challenge of no health or things of that nature, make it a truley realistic game, in addition with the head set, you aren't playing Navy seals, you are the navy seals, The game is great considering its not easy to beat and will not bore you out within 20 minutes of playing it, It's incredibly fun, but not to those without paitence, and the orignality was great, down to the foot prints in the snow and everything
