GREAT MOVIE, GREAT GAME, GREAT MUSIC! |
Arend D. Hart from Michigan says (20/Dec/2002): |
As a big fan of the LOTR movies, it was a pleasure to check out the Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers game. As you can see by the reader reviews below, LOTR:TTT is the thinking man's hack'n'slash game for 2002. I'd seriously suggest checking this one out.
On an aside, I also checked out the LOTR Soundtrack (see: SOUNDTRACK) and it's spectacular.

This game is so cool |
| Miralita from Los Angeles, California says (26/Jul/2004): |
This game is really good, but The Return of the King is better. And also, to stop the confusion, there is no The Felowship of the Ring game. FotR and TTT were combined in this game. Soooooo, yeah. I will have to say that it is hard to see because of the lighting, and Gimli's face looks like it got run over by a Garbage truck, but other than that, it rocks. But I seriously say to check out The Return of the King, if you haven't already. The Graphics are 100x better, and Gimli's face isn't squished! Plus there are more characters than just Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli.

U GET TO RUN THROUGH AND KILL ORCS! |
| A gamer from USA says (22/Dec/2003): |
ok, this game was an awesome game for the fact that u get to run through killing orcs, and there are there real voices of the characters in the movie.but there is some advantages and disadvantages. some of the advantages are, like i said , running around killing people etc., some of the disadvantages are that the graphics arent that bad but not that good either. there is only 9 levels plus the bonus levels which i havent gotten to the last one. and if there is an attack that says instant kill to goblins, when u use the attack it sometimes or most of the time doesnt work. but i would recomend this game to all lord of the rings fans, it is definetly a great game.

It Rocks! |
| Steven from Germany says (21/Dec/2003): |
Well, i thought this was a really good game because you started out with three people and you can grow levels with them as you go through levels. I like how the levels are hard and they don't let you use cheats unless you've beaten the game already that way you beat it fair. It's also really cool that you can get a secret character at the end but i won't say who it is for the people out there who havent' beaten it yet. Well, it's a very good game to get and i look forward to playing the third one. I think a lot of people should buy this game and the next one.
|
Awesome! |
| Mike from USA says (30/Nov/2003): |
The game is awesome and it is a must get for any LOTR fan. Although it would have a ten if it did have a two player mose but that will be for the third one that just came out! Remember one thing though, ITS ALL ABOUT GIMLI! Legolas is a pretty boy and Aragorn is too uptight.
|
Too Short for me.... |
| Tiger fire from N. Cape May N.J. says (17/Nov/2003): |
I really don't like this game. It has bad graphics and the game is too short.(9 levels). One fun part of the game is the fact that you get to kill goblins and these weird looking creatures. cool. The lifespan however could be varying by how good you are at video games. 1-24 hours is the time for a master to beat.I recomend you not to buy this game.
Graphics:4
Gameplay:7
Lifespan:varies
Fun factor:6

The battle for Helms Deep was troublesome! |
| zack conrad wagner from Massacchusetts says (13/Oct/2003): |
Here goes the fellowship{even though it broke up at the battle of Amon Hen}Strider,Gimil, and Legolos battling all 10,000 Uruk Hais and the race of men 300 men. During the fight the walls of Helms Deep blew up bigger than you can think of it killed lots of orcs. At the end of the battle Gandelf came with another army. They won that war. Then Gandelf said:"That was the battle for man kind the battle for Middle Earth is about to begin"!

I love games where you just run through killing things |
| Ben Lewis from Victoria, Australia says (9/Oct/2003): |
I know this game is only a platform game and it doesn't have graphics that add up to final fantasy. But all you really want in a game is for it to be entertaining. All that matters is that you find it fun and | definately find this game very fun with all the different moves that you get and all the different special attacks. I have spent hours playing this game and still haven't found it that boring so I would say to anyone considering buying this game that they shou;dn't be dettered by the idea of the bad graphics or the fact that it doesn't have hundreds of levels because it is damn fun and I loved it.

Hack & Slash Galore |
| Halfdeaf from Coltrane, TN says (24/Sep/2003): |
This game, while better than the original installment, lacks variation. While games like Hitman 2 or Vice City add a semi-real, more believeable A.I. platform, the gameplay in this title becomes quickly predictable.
Minor dilenations exist between playable characters. I'm sure someone here has already ruined the 'secret-character' by putting his identity in the review, so I won't spoil it for you if you have neither read about it or played it.
I must commend this title for its extras: There are movies associated with game progress in the form of interviews with cast members from the movies. Also, there are a few cut scenes included that are not quite featured in the film... Most of these 'cut scenes' are off-takes, or "card-takes", as Peter Jackson himself puts it. Basically, you play this game for hours and hours in order to unlock lots of extras.
This game is tolerable in that it allows even first time players (i.e. those who have magically never heard of LOTR or seen any of the movies, not to mention read any of the books) to enjoy the game without having had prior exposure to Tolkien's world.
Oh, and if you would be amused by seeing the movie actors playing the video game, play on. I'd suggest a rent before a purchase. This game would be spectacular for kids.
HAVE FUN!

This is a great game!!!!! |
| A gamer from bensenville ,IL,USA says (17/Sep/2003): |
This is a great game!i have beated it over three times and i cant wait until the new '' The lord of the rings the return of the king ''comes out for playsation two!My friends love it when i bring it over to get togethers and family meetings.I love the game graphics and landscape detail. also the characters are well animated also.
|
All LOTR is great, and this game is no exception!! |
| Chris D. from Wisconsin says (28/Aug/2003): |
I Absolutely love LOTR and this game! I know, it is short and repetitive but that doesn't matter!! The graphics are so much like the movie i couldn't believe my eyes when i first saw them! The controls are very simple and the combos are easy to pull off. That's good for me because i hate complex controls. The sound is easily the best part. With the battle clangs and the roaring soundtrack in the backround you are completely emersed in the game. I can't wait for 'Return of the King!!'
|
great game tough some minor points |
| Joris De Geest from mechelen belgium says (10/Aug/2003): |
lotr the two tower is a great game tough it could have been better for example by adding a multiplayer mode and more characters to fight with like elrond or éomer or a regular soldier of rohan. A part of those points its a great game with average graphics and great gameplay for hours and hours of fun killing goblins orks and terrible uruk-hai. its need that the voices are those from the actors from the movie cause else it would be real stupid. the weapons are the original (aragorn with sword and bow, legolas with two long knifes and a better bow and my personal favorite gimli with a war axe and some throwing-axes) and it is also cool that they have something to kill the bad monsters of the dark lord from a distance though aragorns bow is dissapointingly slow but then on the other hand legolas bow is fast and real handy for little goblins. the stages are good and you have the best battles from the first movie on (even the battle on the slopes of mount doom where you play isildur) you can play the weathertop, the road to moria, balins tomb, amon hen, fangorn forest, three levels in rohan(the plains of rohan, the westfold, and another one where i forgot the name of),then the deeping wall, breached wall and hornburg courtyard (all from the battle of helms deep) and even a level inside the tower of orthanc where you have to fight your way trough 20 floors loaded with enemies from goblins to woodblock throwing cave-trols. So if you are a fan of tolkien (the author of the books) and you liked the movies then this game is really a must for you. And if you are still doubting about the price take it from me it is NOT a waste of money,i swear you will enjoy it for months. I hereby close my review and i hope it is long enough to be posted. bye.

very well done |
| A gamer says (7/Aug/2003): |
ok people, the game is short i will giev u that but there are some of u who are saying u beat the game in a half an hour??? really....with all the characters and u got the secret character and all the upgrades? i mean im not saying that that takes a long time but not a HALF AND HOUR? oh and its made by EA. which means absolutly no blood. they have a policy about that.
ok yeah i like the games bye bye.

AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME |
| Robyn from Miami, FL, US says (31/Jul/2003): |
The game is awesome! I dont like video games at all, that's coz I suck but I bought LotR The Two Towers coz I LOVE LotR!! I am addicted! It's awesome! The scenery is amazing and the controls are so easy. It's also pretty cool that the experience score is so easy to understand! Usually, in other games, you need to be a rocket scientist to understand it!
The characters are amazing and the voices are awesome!!! This is one of the best games made for PS2.
When I started the game I was like oh another rpg but this game has aweosme story line and amazing graphics. Woo Hoo! Finally a game I can uinderstand. Instructions: Slice the Orks in half! I can do that! :)!! ^-^ I'm good at that!! This game is amazing!

This is a great game with great graphics and so much to unlock. |
| Daniel Kizana from Sydney, Australia says (1/Jul/2003): |
This is by far the most awesome game I have ever played.
I loved the way you can unlock secret characters and attacks. This game has an AWESOME secret level in which you fight your way through the tower of Orthanc.
A thing that I really liked is the fact that you can play through each level for the three characters and then for Isildur. This enables you to replay all the best levels whenever you want!
I really liked the amazing attention to detail. When it transfers from cut scene to movie scene I can barely tell the difference!
The only part that I dislike about the game is the fact that you must first finish the last level before replaying completed levels.
The game has a short lifespan as there are few levels, but as soon as you finish the main levels in the game you can play all the levels again.
This game is very original and I think it is great value.

Its cool but... |
| Steven from washington,USA says (26/Jun/2003): |
This game is one of the best games ive ever played. Its got great graphics I love how it adds the movie sceans in.There are a few problems,it adds some levels from the fellowship like, moria, and amon hem but i think they did that because the first game sucked. And they let you play as Isadur but he is already dead.Plus he is just like Aragorn in every way exsupt for looks.
|
Its ok but..... |
| William Mooney from illinois says (24/Jun/2003): |
i think the game is ok but its to short and its not all the 2 towers. I have seen much better games. Im disapointed in the game i thought It would be better than that! I want my damn money back. omfg!! what a rip off. i could come up with a better game! I like the characters and everything and the movie graphics, thats kool. But they could have done a better job in making the game.
|
