could be more realistic! | | John from Liverpool,England says (22/May/2003): | I think that the game is much better than the last wwe game but it could of been much better especially the create a superstar.The create a superstar needs to be more advanced and have more variety in the clothes hairstyle etc and i hate the way when you have created your player it doesnt look realistic and looks different from other superstars espicially if you create a female the breast look funny!I also dislike the season mode cause the characters dont speak they have text on the bottom and the women dont have hardly no matches and not envolved that much.I enjoy the matches their fun and the game is adictive and entertaining.In the next game it should be more advanced and realistic the matches are fine though and get the divas envolved in the story lines!

TEAM ANGLE, 3 MINUTE WARNING, THE NEW KANE, CENA, NOBLE, FBI, KENDRICK,The new Kevin Nash, and alot more superstars now. the graphics are ok. The entrace is like 5/10 because Kane's fire comes after the song and Shawn Michaels doesn't dance that alot. AND Edge's and the Hardy boy's song are wrong. the storyline are ok. I don't like the fight between RAW AND SMACKDOWN, They fight for like 6 months. It gets kind of boring. Is it true that you can unlock new characters if u play for like 50 times the season mode???? The matches are awesome.
I like the hell in a cell and the royal rumble. I think WWE Wrestlemania X8 has some parts that are better than this game.

Undertaker was the Champion,atthat time the Rock was the Champion. Rvd was the Intercontinental,at that time Eddie Guerrero was the Champion. Christian was Storm were the current champs. William Regal was the European champ,at that time Spike was the european champ. Bradshaw was the current Champ.Hurricane was the Crusierweight,at that time Noble was the Champion and he wasnt even in the game! There was no womens championship. They shouldnt had Chris Nowinski and Batista in the game too. and you should be able to put more then 3 people in a stable. Because there are people in a group that have more then 3 people in a stable. The Unamericans back a while ago had 4 people in there group they had Test,Christian,Lance Storm and William Regal, you could have put them in a stable. And I dont like the way you have the No#1 contender matchs. I was Brock Lesner in the season mode and I one the WWE Championship and I'm getting guys like Cheif Morley (Big Bowboski) and Jeff Hardy and all those guys that dont even deserve a shot for the title. And It is like impossible to win the Royal Rumble , like if you had a perfect season or almost perfect season you would be entered in the Royal Rumble at #15 or lower. And at Wrestlemania X8 hollywood Hulk Hogan is like impossible to win. The ladder matches are crap when you wanna have a ladder match you have to grab a belt you shouldnt be able to grab a belt if your not even the champ. And I dont like how you made HBK the RAW General Manager When Eric Bischof is the Manager. And on my copy of Smackdown shut your mouth the music on my game ether skips or doesnt even play at all. But everything else is pretty good I like how you can throw them into cars and they blow up and how you can throw them into the water tank and it explodes and all that cool hardcore stuff. Thanx

Rey Mysterio!! I know that it has his outfit which is good, but his moveset is so wierd, he doesn't even do most of those moves. Also, the anounce tables, there good and all but the sound that they make when it breaks is awfull, it's not even a sound it just breaks, i think that it needs the sound of it breaking like on SmackDown 2: Know Your Role. The normal tables are bad too,we should be able to do a move like the 3-D throught it with out having to get on top of it. The anouncers are bad too all say is the same things over and over, and when you do a chokeslam they will say "chokeslam" even before you put your hand on your opponents neck. Also when you create a superstar and they open their mouths it's all pink, we should atleast have some teeth. I liked Smackdown 3 alot because you could go in the crowd, I think on the next game we should be able to go in the crowd. The real wrestlers entrances are very cool but the created ones are so dumb, I mean who would honestly come out spinning like a ballerina?? The graphics are awsome and it has the best crowd I've ever seen in any game. The season mode is very bad, first of all when you sart you have that dumb draft which happened quite a while ago, and when you start the season mode with a created wrestler your on HeAT for about 3 months, in real life if someone one every match for 3 months i'm sure that they wouldn't be an HeAT for that long. I really like how you do the other opponents special move. The gamplay is very good , its easy to move around and everything. Onother bad thing is that it doesn't have a casket match! I also think that on the next SmackDown Game it should have the Elimination Chamber!

And how come it hasn't got anyone like Rey Mysterio, Heyman, Cena, the NEW Kane, Shelton Benjamin, Charlie Haas etc. I know that you can create them, but that's too complicated! The graphics in the game are brilliant but I hate how on season they have words on the bottom of the screen instead of making them talk themselves. Also on season, I don't like how you always have (basically) the same storylines every time. I wish you could maybe have an option to create your own season and make the storylines up yourself. And when you have Stephanie Mcmahon and Shawn Michaels working for the managers on season they don't do anything. When you're in the matches I wish you could get a wider range of weapons from undernath the ring like a steel pipe or a trash can or a trash can lid. And you should be able to grab the title belt from the side of the ring in title matches. Also, for some reason you're not allowed out of the ring in triple threat (etc.) matches. I do like the variety of matches it has but where are the eight and ten man tag matches? Overall I think it's a pretty good game and I would reccomend it to most people.

And next time add more better clothes for creat mode cause the clothes are soo tight for men and soo loose for women. Also the people need to be able to talk. Also you should be able to unlock every superstar that you meet up with cause when i met up with debra i couldn't even wrestle with her!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! well the game could of been better.the storylines need to be better too anyways by.

| A great game in all respects, however...... | | Chris from Birmingham, England says (16/May/2003): | Smackdown: Shut Your Mouth is undeniably a great game... the graphics are gorge, the lighting and effects is awesome, the entrances (as per time of it's release) are more or less spot on and the backstage banters and so on like you can go out on teh street for example and down to the subway are also cool.... maybe they need further ellaboration as you're limited to what you can interract with but the idea is there. The flaws start as soon as the bell goes pretty much... the gameplay is way too fast. I mean, when was teh last time you saw Rikishi or Big Show elbow drop off the top rope?!?!? My point exactly... and they seemingly are able to leap to the top rope and jump off in like 0.5 seconds which is ridiculous. The create a superstar is good... but a bit too long winded. It takes AGES to create a superstar and where are their TEETH???
I have been playing wrestling games since Royal Rumble first came out on the Mega Drive and every title in between. I think the best one for customisation and gameplay is WWF : No Mercy on the N64 purely because you can pretty much alter any superstars appearance to suit more modern times... even if a superstar wasn't on their, it was quite easy to re-create one accurately enough... I mean I create Bret Hart, Vader, Kevin Nash and even Hulk Hogan (origianl and best) I also created one off's like Ryu, Ken, Sagat and Balrog from Street Fighther the customisation was that good.
I feel that Shut Your Mouth severely lacks this ability. It would be cool if the unlockables included Macho Man, Bret Hart, Marty Jennety, British Bulldog (rip) Classic Undertaker, Kamala, Giant Gonzales, Doink etc... I know that maybe asking too much but developers for the game who are reading my words... bare this in mind as the next one will be one hell of a game, SERIOUSLY. More music styles old new and original need to be added and create a character needs to be fine tuned. Apart form that, I give this title 8 out of 10. -C-
| very good ! | | Mark from Death valley California says (16/May/2003): | The game is very good but needs some corrections , see you cant choose women for season mode that really sucks . the graphics aren't that good because when you do a chokeslam you don't touch the neck .one thing that would be cool if you could pick the OLD UNDERTAKER with the old song and the old movie (1990-1997)UNDERTAKER . if the people would talk instead of having a text down below that would be better . they should have all the new wrestlers like NATHAN JONES or rey misterio. one thing you can't do is 3D somebody through a table or do your finishing move . and we all know that spike dudley can't dudley dog the big show . Where is BRIAN KENDRICK ? one thing they should have is a bikiny contest . WHERE IS SABLE ?!?! One thing that is stupid when you go in to season mode with a created player and let say he is on smackdown and maven is on raw after ur first match maven comes to you . And is it true that you can unlock takers old gimmick ?? when u play season mode with kane ??? well i can't wait till next smackdown i hope you'll take some advises from me thank you for your attention !

The graphics are the best i have ever seen in a wrestling game. The create a character is great. There are tons of people to choose and plenty to make. One of my biggest gripes when i started playing was no Rey Mysterio, but if you play long enough and unlock enough you will be able to create him to a "t". There is a complete list of what unlockable move set goes to who. So if you think that some people are missing check it, you should find them.

The scenes, they should real. I hate it when someone like RVD comes out and demands respect, thats not RVD, thats the undertaker hello. And, I think that every wrestler should have their own storyline. It would be heaps better. Graphics, loved it and the realism in the entrances was primo. Create a player is cool but I just hate it how they have no teeth, "WHAT'S UP WITH THAT?", the Hurricanes says. I agree with everyone else when they say that spike dudley can't suplexe the big show. C'mon, more realism in the playing mode because it just doesn't look right. Scott hall? Where was he? X-pac wasn't even there when Hogan ran over the ambulancewith the Rock in it. And while Vince was talking about the poison in the NWO why couldn't you guys make him speak it, like record it from the RAW that had that scene in it. It would look a lot better then reading it because its like a chinese movie or something. The Royal Rumble is cool but, the fink should announce the first 2 entries as the participant who pulled numbers 1 & 2, not announce them in like they are entering a one on one match because then it doesn't look like a royal rumble if you know what I mean. Reversing the specials is kool but it needs more like for example, Hogan should miss the leg-drop when going for it, Shawn Micheals should have his leg caught when he goes for the sweet chin music and spun around like the real thing, Brock's F5 should be counted by getting off his shoulders, Booker T's scissors kick should be missed, Big Show and Kane's chokeslam should be countered by a kick in the gut or a reverse armbar like how Kurt does it for the smaller wrestlers and Trish Stratus' bulldog off the ropes should be throwin' away like in wrestling just to name a few. If the reversals were like that, Rhyno runs for the spear and you can reverse him into the pole and he falls out of the ring, then I think it would be more exiting to play. Hogan missing the leg drop would be so cool to see on a wrestling game. Sound is good and the graphics are crisp which makes the game wicked but then again there should be no stupid and silly music on this game even for an entrance. I mean for real man, who comes out dancing like a ballet dancer and who enters the ring sitting in a trolley?? Thats stupid, we're not looking to create a bunch of losers, we're looking to create wrestlers because thats the name of the game. If you guys can't think of any then put in some of the old music like from WWF(then) Attitude, the undertakers dark side song, mankinds song since you can creat him, warriors song, Dx, NOD just the old wrestlers and for the entances it can be the same, undertakers dark side entrance and give undertaker those dark side clothes to unlock during season or something and can it be possible this time to change the look of the superstars. I hate it that I can't give the rock a boldy because thats what he looks like now. More wrestlers need to be added too, Steiner, nidia, Sable now, Chyna, J. Noble, Cena, Mysterio, Chavo and get some of the old faces in too like Piper, Snuka, Doink would be funny just to surprise us fans on who is going to be unlocked next.......GOLDBERG definitiely has to be on the next smackdown. with The Rock and Goldberg on the cover staring down each other and little pics in the background with Hogan, Triple H, Kane, Taker, Angle, Brock, Booker, Steiner, Micheals, Nash, and Austin.Thin about it, it'll be the bomb. Other then those flaws the game is sweet.

Up until today I'm looking for a good wrestling game that can really take up my time. WWE Smack Down Shut Your Mouth is one heck of a game. It really has good graphics, a lot of types to choose from and especially it has a good season(story) mode. Graphics really blasts its way up in here (I guess that's too much) but seriously you'd really recognize the wrestlers face and movements in this game. This is way better than just bring it.
It really is such a great game only for a minor hold back...... The voices.... wished it was more like a real show.

The champ of wrestling games was WWF No Mercy and it got its ass kicked by SYM. Raw is horrible and wrestlemania the same the only shinning light is Smackdown. The only problem i have with SYM is the computer cheats like a bitch and i cant do specials through tables. the good things about SYM is the the create a wrestler where you can make anyone you want, the graphics are great for a wrestling game, and the move execution is the best ever. I can go on and on about this game so to keep a long review short as the nWo would say WWE Smackdown Shut Your Mouth is just 2-sweet.

| The best wrestling game ever released! | | Rob Hirst from Sheffield, England says (8/May/2003): | Smackdown 4: Shut Your Mouth is the best wrestling game that has ever been released on the PS2. The graphics on the game are absoloutly perfect and for any true wrestling fan, there is no better. One of the great things of the game is the commentary from Jim Ross and Jerry "the king" Lawler. They react to what moves have been performed by shouting out the name of the move a few times to emphasize the greatness of the moves. The bad thing is though is that you dont hear them commentate a hell of a lot. The sound effects of the game are great too. From slaps on the chest by Ric Flair, to thuds on the ground from a chokeslam from Kane. There is background music while you are having matches which adds to the effect. In the season mode, when you are on Raw! the Raw music plays and when you are on Smackdown! the Smackdown music plays which is really brilliant! The gameplay is excellent! The moves on the game are so realistic you feel like your watching a real life match on the Raw T.V Show. They are really updated! From the newest Undertaker Chokeslam to the destructive F5! The problem is though, the WWE Superstar roster is very old, compared to the superstars you now see on Raw and Smackdown. If you are a mega wrestling fan like me you will probabaly never get bored with this game apart from the fact that you get fed up of being the same superstar over and over again. This game is really fun to play on and you will love the sorts of matches you can choose from; Hell in the Cell, Royal Rumble, 6 Man Battle Royal and 3 Stages of Hell. These are all really good matches and there's a lot, lot more! The fun never ends if you like to have various different matches, but if you're like me you will find its disapointing that there are matches in real life that you will not find in the game; Elimination Chamber, Triple Threat Tag Team Match and Buried Alive Matches. Another downfall to the game is that there is no blood on it. That is really disapointing! When it comes to match types, they are really quite origional. I only hope the next game will be more exciting. This game is of a high value and i respect that the game can't keep up to the realism of the superstars and match types as in real life but i still really love this game. It's incredible!

Also no Rey Mysterio?! I didn't like the created one...not as good...Put him in Smackdown! Here Comes the Pain! I loved how you could unlock things it made it more of a challenge and when nWo comes in and everything goes wild, seriously loved it. The only thing that bugged me about the whole nWo is Hello Scott Hall was there too, even if he did get fired! I also loved how you could change their clothes. Wahoo Jeff Hardy with pigtails!

John Cena,Jamie Noble,Nidia,victoria,Rey,and chavo are just a few. In season mode there is no womans title there are very few womans matches. I have seen one so far. Also when a chapion comes out the annoucer never say he is the champion. And when it is a special match it is never said. There is no casket match. Some things dont seem real(like spike dudley suplexing the big show). There are no chapionship matches out side of season mode. Whaen someone gets beat up they get right back up. a few other minor other things are wrong. Other then all of that the game is great and relly fun. Can someone tell me how to get the movies. I have RVD and The superstars and that is it.
| This game rocks! | | Steven from Pennsylvania,USA says (6/May/2003): | Wow,I love this game I am so addicted to it.I love how the season mode is a lot better then before and I like how the superstars look like there real,its amazing!But I wish Jackie was on the game I mean shes been there for ever,and Nidia shuld definitly be added if maven is,During season you shuld be able to use a female and go after the womens title,or at least have the womens title on exhibiton,i mean come on.When you play season the story lines shuld be different every time instead of the same storylines over and over.I love the CAW it rocks!
