sweetish summary on thps4 |
| Julian Padilla or "JP" from Tucson AZ , united states of america says (11/Jun/2003): |
yeah, this game was really good... but, you need more tricks, like salads shouldnt be a special, and you need tricks like easy flips, big heels, big flips, frontside flips, backside flips, like, they should have the right names, not nollie+kickflip, but nollieflip, know what i mean. ARTO SAARI!!!! put him in the game dude, everyone will buy it if artos in it. or pj ladd, that guy rocks too, maybe one of the black label riders, like ben gilley... yeah, thatd be sick dude, that guy rocks at handrails (i.e. front 5.0 el torro, what was he thinkning?)anyways, yeah dude, it was good, but put newer tricks and some other skateboarders. oh yeah, and fix the nollie tricks, if you dont know what i mean, go try to do a nollie tre flip.

The best game ever made! |
| Ben W. from Conesville,Ohio,USA says (22/Apr/2003): |
Ok I have one thing to say. Get off the computer right know and get this game! This is the best THPS game to date. The Graphics are nearly perfect(ecspecally how it shows the scrapes on the skaters elbows and kness and how the board graphic is scraped of after boardsliding)The best part about this game is the new goal system. this makes the game alot better than the first 3 games. its way better to be able to roam the levels freely and tackle goals as you are ready. The levels a are so much better and so much bigger. the network adapter is a must have if you own this game. I have 100% of the game done but i still play online everyday because of beeing able to interact and compare your skills to everyone elses. Get this game.

It kicks butt, Like, Totally. |
| Gus from Didcot near Oxford, UK says (4/Sep/2003): |
The game is above all the others, the new missions format rules, even if acclaim already has it. Even if it is unrealistic, it would be no fun if it was realistic! -Just like the Realistic mode cheat says- it takes the fun away! Me and most of my friends skate. We have been for ages! In the Tony Hawk's series we are able to do all the tricks and combos that we would love to do in real life, but are humanly impossible. It's what you do when raining and you can't go out and skate! Other than that, i guess there are a few bugs, the replay is slightly dissapointing, but the awesome music, challenges, skateshop and graphics such as the scabs and disappearing deck graphics make this game a gem that everyone should get.

Some annoying goals, great gameplay, and overall, worth the cash!!! |
| Tommy from Charlotte, USA says (19/Mar/2003): |
One big problem is that I can't totally beat the game since I can't do one skaters pro challenge. The one in Alcatraz that asked you to invert on the cell block roof. My guy, full on stats, just can't make it that high. Whats up with that?Anyway, the game is fun but has some very annoying goals. Manueling down three switchbacks in Alcatraz. COMBO after COMBO after COMBO. Overall, a very well done game. If they didn't have the combo's and other such stuff it would be boring. However, I'd like to see more active levels, and I like tons of hidden stuff aka THPS3 that you get when you beat it not by typing in cheats. You can pull some fat tricks, which is cool. And for the most part, good job on the levels.

where's the good Pro Skater music? |
| Steve from Los Angeles, Ca says (15/Nov/2002): |
well..? where is it? the music in this version sucks! there a few OK songs but nothing compared to 3 or especially 2. the graphics, i feel, are minimally better. there is more sound, ie speech and sound effects. the challenges are ultimately the best part. the level do not have nerve racking time limits but the challenges still do. you can just cruise around and do a challenge whenever you like. there are some really great original challenges in this one, like the stolen car challenge. the special moves are really cool but i havent managed to do any yet. i think they should consider changing some of the characters out to make the game a little more varied. the game is awesome, as usual, but the music is weak.

The Game That Drives The THPS Masters Crazy |
| Chad7989 from Walker,Louisiana says (22/Dec/2002): |
I am a vert skater in THPS but have learned so much more from this game. Before the game was released it was said it was made to make awesome players better and I think they suceeded. The Pro Challenges are very difficult but can be done with practice. The Custom Skater option is awesome and the best yet without a doubt. I have yet to use the park editor but I looked at it and it seemed a little hard to manage. I agree that the spine transfer button was unnessecary but it hasn't crippled my game play yet. The new flatland tricks are awesome, even though they may be low points the manual to a handplant or pogo is awesome. The goals are progressively harder but it keeps you playing. Great job neversoft!
|
Ehhh, I've played harder |
| Bart from Altoona PA says (29/Nov/2002): |
I finished the game in one day, 13 hours. The goals were hard at first, until I found a line I could run with. As for the music, I've learned to take out the red and white AV plugs and plug in my dreamcast so I can play CD's while I'm playing the PS2. That's how annoying the music really was. I also was hoping I could go back through and beat the game with EVERY character, but that's just not the case. Once you've done it with one, you've done it with all of them. Pro specific challenges were the only thing that forced me to change from Bam or Rodney. Even then, once it was done I changed back. All gaps, all goals, all cash (including from mini-games) in 13 hours?? Time to find a new game to play...

Tony Hawk 4 defines previous releases!!!! |
| Casey Brower from Joplin,Missouri, USA says (17/Nov/2002): |
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 defines the skateboarding genre in this rendition of the game. The graphics are very smooth, you can see each trick while it's happening rather than something you would consider a triple kickflip. The gameplay has stayed the same thank god because it wouldn't make sense to change it. Replay value is a 9 also because you can never get bored playing it. I must have played 2 and 3 hundreds of times. I'm on my way with 4. After this review the fun factor addition needs no input becuse it's just fun. Originality has kept the Tony Hawk Franchise going. Sure it's the same game with different modes but hey, that's the best part. It's Tony Hawk. The best making it better. Nuff said.

Tony Hawk`s Pro Skater 4 |
| Bruce from Canada says (12/Jan/2003): |
I really enjoy the gameplay of tony hawk 4, but its very unrealistic! rodney mullen (the skater that created the ollie, the kickflip, and the shove, and the concave on a board) cant do a kick flip to pogo to casper to melon to manual in real life can he? If i wasnt a sk8r, than i'd love tony hawk, but i am one, and it especially annoys me when people say they want more cheats. Do u think its that easy to skate? most beginners cant even stand on their boards! Tony hawk honestly creates a bunch of poser kids that skateboard cuz they saw it on tony hawk. i just wanted to say, AMAZING GAME BECAUSE ITS SOOOOO EASY, but than its just too fake! I hope they create a better tony hawk!

2:00 min goal runs have been phucked off :) |
| Christian Hossoi from state pen. USA says (21/Jan/2004): |
the biggest and most important difference in this version is the free skating goal system (as every one has mentioned). That alone is worth dumping old versions of the game. The other is the revert manuals out of pipes to continue your combos. Very easy to get 800 000 + combos now. Spine transfers wich doubles as a safe exit when you accidentally leave sideways out of a pipe. C-O-M-B-O letter goals are a lot of fun and forces newbies to get creative with combos. Great level design. All together greater veriety and possibilities then previous versions. Only bad thing is not enough nudity, not enough ass slappin and definately not enough asian prostitutes!!!

Tony Hawk 4 good game yet some errors |
| Inuyoko Kashuri from San Fransico, CA of USA says (1/Dec/2002): |
This game had many flaws that were too small for people to care. There are many glitches that I have seen so far (played two goals at once). It is very challenging and addicting. The worst is probably you only play it once. You should at least play it three times to beat the game. The best part of the game was probably the pro challengers. I didn't like collecting the money but the spending system was a great idea (like in #2) The new goal system was awesome and quite hard to find some. The levels were amazingly bigger and fun. I thought the game was great besides the small glitches and errors. My report councludes to a 9 star game.

a decent game |
| oz from London, England says (15/Sep/2003): |
This game is really really really good but! it could be improved which i see they have done with Tony Hawks Underground (the sequal to this game if u didnt no). But the idea of having no time limit on riding around the level and u can just ride into each mission. The missions are well good like the new combo idea which really brings a new level of difficulty to the game. The other three have been a slit dissapointmeant as they r so easy.
Overall i would recomend this game to any1 who enjoyed the previous games and look out for T.H.U.G. (its short for tony hawks underground see wat they done there thug!! get it?)

THPS4 is amazing!... no matter what you cheaters say |
| dave from california says (12/Dec/2002): |
This is a message to any THPS4 fans who think they are masters at the game and claim its too easy and that it has bad gameplay. THPS4 can not even be compared to 1,2, and 3 because it is the best game around by far for any system out right now. The game play is amazing and the game offers many challenging, new and exciting goals. To anyone who says they have beaten it in less than a day, try again, without cheats and without using secret characters. I have already beat the entire game without cheating at all so I say if you have used cheats... start over and then tell me the game sucks and is too easy.

They should have stoped with tony hawk 3 |
| Quentin Myers from ohio usa says (9/Jan/2003): |
ok i'll admit to it having great graphics but come on ppl this is sad real sad!there was 3 games like this before this one and if you bought the last 3 and like the game you might as well get up and go skate instead of playing games about skating all the time! I really skate and this game is really posser style game they really tried too hard to make it close to Real skating that they missed the whole point of SKATING all together skatings not about going pro its about just doing it cuz you enjoy it and have lots of fun with other skaters if you go pro you go pro thats that...

agree with Hart |
| killer koffee from Guatemala says (30/Apr/2003): |
The game really has some debugging issues, one especially that ive noticed from the first thps and has been in all thps wich is that if a vert ramp or a realy long and curvy quarter pipe u follow it, thats weird. and you can ollie higher than the characters height but it looks strange. but i liked most of the other stuff music and graphics. its just the debugging they have to work out. also if you get to close to the wall and you move the camera very close to the person you can see through them and thats hoow i discovered that daisy had stars on her tits origanilly.

I bet you didn't play it all......... |
| tekknocolor from Birmingham, USA says (2/Dec/2002): |
Alright,I'm new at this entire posting thing, but here goes. I've been playing THPS4 and being a continuous crack head for the game, I'd have to say you guys are nuts! The graphics are way better. There are way more things you can do that wasn't even possible in the previous versions. I personally don't like the music, but each to their own. The goals are crazy, perhaps unrealistic (ex: 900,000 pt pro score which I have yet to accomplish). The most amazing graphics when you do special moves or manuals. Anyway, I highly recommend this game for all you THPS fans:)

If you talked trash about thps4, read this. |
| Davy Thompson from Cyril, Ok, USA says (6/Dec/2002): |
Man I don't care what any one says, this game is awesome!! And to all of yall cheaters who beat it in one day 13 hours or whatever, of course it's to easy. Try playing the game without any cheats at all and really finish it. I mean all of the pro challenges and every thing, then tell me that it was too easy. My game had very few glitches and it played better than 12or3. I am done with every pro challenge exept Rune Glifberg's, That is Stinkin' hard (without cheats). And to all of you cheaters out there, be a man and really beat the game. peace. www.shade.cc

TONY HAS ENTERED A DOWNWARD SPIRAL |
| Trey from Virginia says (1/Dec/2002): |
Don't get me wrong, but THPS4 is lacking something critical. The "extreme" sports genre is quickly running out of steam. Neversoft didn't add anything new or original to this game. I don't care if the levels are "free-roaming", it still feels the same as the original 2 minute timed levels. Your money is much better spent on Vice City. Get this game if you're a rich spoiled brat who loves Tony Hawk, the X Games, and trying to ollie with your 200 dollar skateboard. For everyone else, a rental is just fine. You can pretty much beat this game in one sitting.

Time to move on |
| Guerrier from Greensboro, NC says (23/Jan/2003): |
Tony, if you read this that would rock. First we are unable to custumize the tricks and delete them. second how about another group of proskaters, like collin, fraizer ect... How about some real music metalica, slayer megadeth shine all that hiphop. The last two games are very street oriented. We love you because of vert not your street skating. Maybe ps5 will be all about old school old school parks and decks punk rock and skaters like. Duane peters, Tony Alva , shogo kubo, Eric Grisham and the like. Some one get tony to read this.

crazy |
| nolan from omaha NE usa says (23/Nov/2004): |
This is the best thps game i'v play'd yet i cant beleive they came out with all this new stuff you can do the really good thing is that your not timed.Sure the game is kinda short, i beat it on every skill but i guise it deppends on what skill your on. some of the combos were hard as hell but fun hell. some of the things were very unreal.but its the best game. my commets on the game are high, but like i said somthings are just to fake like pullin a 1540. people I think you should buy this game, youl never get BOARD OF IT.
