This game rules! |
| Matthew DeHaven from L.A.(California), USA says (31/Jan/2003): |
I haven't beaten the game yet, but it is AWESOME!!! If you don't have a PS2, your loss. But if you do, GET THIS GAME!!!! No PS2 owner should be without it. Probably the only thing wrong with it, is the fact that some of the levels are needlessly hard, and the camera often becomes frenzied during frank combat. But even that can't dull this shine.

AN ABSOULOTE CLASSIC!! |
| James Collins from U.K. says (26/Jan/2003): |
THIS GAME BLOWS Your MIND!!!! The Best company makes the best platformer even though it was a shame to ditch spyro (I'm a big spryo fan) Ratchet and Clank is the best thing that ever happened to Insnomnic!

Awesome graphics, great sound, and big time butt kicking fun |
| Ben from Hazlehurst, GA says (22/Jan/2003): |
Ratchet and Clank is the best game i have played on my system. It is even better than Jak and Daxter in my opinion. Even though I still have Drek to beat, it is stil the best game out there, i recommend it to anyone looking for a game with a great storyline and clear graphics. Oh, yeah, gotta love the GUIDED ROCKET LAUNCHER:)

Ratchet & Clank rules! Sony does it again! |
| Jeff Seale from Louisville, KY, USA says (14/Jan/2003): |
Sony has created yet another awesome platformer (did you expect less from 'em?) Ratchet & Clank definitely picks up where Crash Bandicoot and Jak & Daxter left off. I just love the graphics and the soundtrack in this game. The cut scenes are very entertaining. However, I wish they'd make the controls customizable as they are in most other games. Except for that little blemish, Ratchet & Clank gets high marks from me!

Ratchet and Clank! |
| Mikel from USA says (11/Jan/2003): |
This game is pretty amusing but has some things that could be worked on. For example bolts oyu get are pretty common....they need to make it a little harder...weapons are easy to get but the bosses are decent on hard level. But the game has amazing graphics ... great enviroment....each thing is detailed...but with occasinal gliches and besides that..the game is fine iand i encourage you if you like Spiro the dragon game series you like this...it's pretty much the ssame as layout.

Very Fun Game |
| LDJ from Dallas, TX says (6/Jan/2003): |
I just completed the Ratchet & Clank game and I thought it was great. Each planet you arrived at offered vastly differing color schemes, environments, characters, sounds, and sights. There seemed to always be something new to look at or explore. Even when you finish the game, you can take advantage of all of the weapons, gagdets, and bolts you've acquired along the way and go back to the other planets and explore MORE than you could with the limited resources you had before. The only thing I can complain about is having to watch all of those short movies, commercials, and the ship flying to each planet, each time you traveled. Still, some of the characters you ran into and were forced to hear out, were pretty inventive and funny, and worth putting up with. There were plenty of little twists to the game that kept it interesting and fun. And I suppose it must be noted that this is the first video game I've played in a LONG time. I don't usually spend my time playing video games, but my husband brought this one home, hoping I'd get more into stuff that he liked. And I liked it. This is the first video game I've beat since the original Super Mario Bros.!! GASP!

It blows you get a 4 |
| mark from louisiana says (3/Jan/2003): |
The game isn't hard at all you get almost all the guns with no prob i just started from world one again to fine all the bolt to see what rare stuff there talking about what that really need on the game it a skip button where you don't have to see all the movies like the ship going to other world it gets real old real fast I wouldn't buy this game again. i say your better off to try a nother game or start looking at ebay for all the cheap Ratchet & clank games if you want to try it its not a game you want to play ever again after your beat it

Ratchet and clank, a platformer to be proud of!! |
| Ben from s yorks britain says (3/Jan/2003): |
When you see screenshots of ratchet and clank your first impression may be that it is a little too cutesy and having heared that it comes from the makers of spyro may back up your early decision of th game. Well to a certain extent it is cute and childish but underneath those superb colourful visuals is a game with an astonishing amount of gameplay. Being a 16 year old and into gory games such as red faction 2 I am not biased in saying that the game is presented for the eyes of children but for the gameplay of an adult with a script the whole family can enjoy. The game boasts a hug aray of gadjets an guns and many cool minigames including the fast hoverboarding event and also the cool spaceship flying bits. he game is incredibly varied throughout but in certain places it doesget repetetive and becomes a victim of the platformers hit and collect ways. on the whole the lush visuals and detail along with the exelent gameply award this game a 9 just lacking on certain innovation.

The BEST platformer |
| Zoogly from Mars says (29/Dec/2002): |
This game is a mixture af all the good stuff from Spyro and Crash Bandicoot. The levels are so immense and you can look down and see the entire city. The game loads very fast and you won't have time to grab a small snack because you can watch your spaceship fly to the next planet while loading. You can go to any planet you've got the Info-Bot to. Gadgebot-Centers sell you a new weapon on each planet and there are tons of different ways to go in the levels. Re-visit the planets and find all the secrets and get more bolts to buy the RYNO(best weapon). Well worth buying.

Refreshing |
| Dave H from Medicine Hat Canada....EH? says (26/Dec/2002): |
After playing similar games that happened to be sequels, like banjo tooie and donkey kong 64 this game was a refreshing trip back to what it was all about. The plot is simple but it keeps you interested in what's going to happen next. However, some or most of the ideas were stolen from other games, such as the perchasing of weapons at certain level incraments, much like dino crisis one and two. Also the idea of clank not only being on ratchets back but also being refered to as a backpack is a complete rip-off of 64's banjo and kazooie. However, the modestness of the game is very impresive, the villian is classy and logical instead of bloaded, discusting, or just plain huge as in most games. And the language of the characters is very enjoyable instead of offensive like I've seen in the past (donkey kong 64, konkers bad fur day, Grand theft auto vice city etc). All in all this game is a winner and it is suitable for all ages, I enjoy it. --Dave

This game is great |
| Bocephus from Phoenix, USA says (25/Dec/2002): |
Ratchet and Clank is a great game. The variety of weapons and gadgets are what make it so fun. The guys at Insomniac (they also made the Spyro the Dragon series) did a great job. Althought the game may seem cartoonish and somewhat juvenile, the fact that you can destroy stuff is really fun. The immersive levels and worlds provide for a great backdrop to the story. All in all: a great game.
