I have been playing video games since the early 80's. I am from the ATARI generation.
I found the graphics quite impressive considering the amount of frames involved. The fire effects is the best I have ever seen in console gaming. Oh and how I love it when the dirt kicks up when a female dragon falls to the ground and how her head flips up from the impact. Some things are a bit odd in the game though.
1) The vehicles the player drives is larger than the game played vehicles. Even your driver is larger than the other human characters.
2)In the level "Storm Front" you must kill 100 enemies to recieve a platinum medal yet only 80 show up. What's up with that?
3)On the human stages, The game doesen't allow you explore beyond the mission areas.
4) When you beep the horn to try to get the attention of the dragons, the sound of the horn cuts off whenever a dragon or dragons are making their own sounds. They hear it anyway but still! Ya know?!
5) Why are there no night time battles?
Some of you will complain the game is too hard but I received all gold and platinum medals. I can kill all dragons before leaving a stage with very little or no human fatalities. You must remember to LOCK on to your target first before firing and if a creature is out of range, quickly move on to another creature. The target lock color is either red or green. Or you could check your local doctor to find out if to have poor to bad depth perception. Or you just don't have the Gung-Ho attitude needed to play the game right.
I still find the game addictive simply because no stage is quite the same when you play it again and again. Especialy when you play against the dragons. Their course of action is always random. I still can't believe I bought it Brand New at Electronics Boutique for only $10.
Final conclusion: It is one of the most beautifuly put together games I have ever seen. Despite it's minor flaws. =)

I must admit, this game is somewhat difficult to master. From the very beggining the levels are challenging. I found it very difficult to understand the radar at first. The size in the radar makes it hard to identify all the points especially those much needed water tanks. I mean when you are on fire and you need to put it out fast, it is almost impossible to tell the purple color dots from the blue ones. What I like most about the game is the non-stop action. Most people tend to dismiss the game saying it's too hard to be a human, I say that's what makes the game. I have a tendecy to finish games rather quickly, not much of a challenge in skills or in using critical thinking skills in most games. This game gave me more of a challenge. It took me almost 5 nights to complete. Those later stages are very hard to beat.
Like I said in the beggining, if your looking for a challenge this is the game to try. You must master that darn radar and use effectively your limited ammo to get through most stages. It might get frustrating since most of the times you are overwhelmed with adversaries and all you have is your slow moving tank. Tanks are not very good in knocking out aerial targets, so you will have to learn to lead your targets in order to shoot them down. You must also be able to recognize certain flight patterns in order to anticipate your next shot. The name of the game is hit and run, can't stand still for too long or they (dragons) will certainly light you up.

i think this game rocks. i beat the whole game though. i love playing as the dragon. i like useing napalm burning people and cars up but it is weak. but when i played the last level i new it was going to be fun when i saw bull and all the other dragons. but i wish all the different dragons came.i wish the ground dragons and the rainbow colored dragons could help me in the different missions. in the human level, storm front was long but fun and hard. but origan of species was hard until i found out were to go. it is extremely easy to use the human and dragon controls once you get use to it. i hate when yhe jackyls hit the side of your vehicle it makes you fly, sometimes in the water. i wish that you could fire as fast as the tiny dragons when you are a dragon with out haveing to glide. its easy to pick up and drop items on the ground. but i wish you cold pick up more cars. i think that terminus was the hardest level and the last until now i don't even have to cheat any more only when playing ashes to ashes or bullfihgt the level before that. the movie looks realy cool. i don't realy care pushing down hard on the x button with the human.i wish you could glide like the rainbow collored can instead of going forward you can just stand still. i realy like the napalm better than the fire ball. especialy how the napalm spreads out the dragons mouth. i like burning the crops. but its a very low price when i got it. this game does realy rock.

At first i used cheats such as invincebility and get more damage. And then i realized that those don't improve your skills they only show how spinless you are. So don't use cheats.
And after I beat the game i went thru and did it all over again. I do want them to make a Reign of Fire 2, although it won't happen. The graphics really were good, although when you hit a jakyl or a dragon it was kinda wierd how the blood just flies.
The sound was awesome!!! It wasn't blurry, it was crystal clear. The lifespan on the game was awesome, although on Storm Front i think it was way to long. The lifspan of the game was really fun though.
The fun factor was insane. I couldn't put it down. I played it in the morning in the afternoon,I just loved it. it was so original. it wasn't like anything i have ever played before.
Its value was absolutely worth it. So in saying i think that this game is worth its money i spent on this exciting game.
So personaly i think everyone that it's allowed to have M games.
So everyone should try this game out but if you don't like it(as if that will happen) then return it but if you do like it you should buy the game, oh and doh't use cheats. we'll there is acually only one problem with the game, it's not long anough.

This game is one of my favorite games I have played in 5 years. This game is really great, I played it because I love dragons. The only downfall in this game is that you have to beat a few human missions before you become the napalm breathing dragons. The graphics are the best that I have ever seen. The dragons are so real, it nearly scares me when they swoop down on the attack. The sound is great. The dragons roar is terrifying. The gameplay has a good plot and isn't confusing at all. The lifespan is really long so you can play for a long time before you die and restart. The game is so fun, I sit down and play it 5 hours at a time. It is the best game I have ever played. This game is a really exiting and is really a tough game to finish. But even though it takes a long time to beat, you won't be dissapointed when you get to the end. I think that this is one of the best overall video games out there and it isn't really expensive. You might want to watch the movie first to see and understand what is going on though. This is an excellent game. If anyone knows the best way to beat level three as a dragon, e-mail me. That is a really hard level.

Personaly i think the game lacked something. It will grabb ur attention at first but after playing a level about ten times u lose interest in it. Being a human is pretty rough. I know its the name of the game but u cant get away from the dragons anywhere. Right from the het go the levels are pretty tough.You might find yourself playing a level over and over again..... On the other hand being a dragon is pretty awesome. You can pick up people, tanks, just about everything and drop it on other people or things. Its also pretty fun using napalm breath or fireballs to burn your human counterparts to a crisp, just atch out for the helicopters and fighter jets.....yes i said fighter jets. Nothing like strolling around burning everthing in your path and being chased by an F-14. I personaly give the game a solid 7. Being a dragon is pretty awesome but its being a human that brings down the score. Thanks and goodbye.

it is a good game so far but it is hard like the mission where you are the fire truck and have to put out all the fires and save people and the reason i gave it a 8 is that the grapies where ok but the radar is to small and that the fact that you do a lot of mission over and over again makes you lose intested in the game but a heared that you get to be a dragon in the game that is really cool. i see that games are better when they long and hard not like grand theft auto vice city it is easy i have almost bet it like for example socom navy seals is another diffcult game that takes a long time what do most people like in this game is that it is harder than most games like mx rider but games can be easy but sweet like twisted metal black that is easy but ok and that it is adventure, adcard, and more things.

This game is one of the best games I own.I beat the game and it was fun. Then I went online and I got the cheats. I put in the cheats once but then I tried again and there so dang hard to put in again. If you will help and email me to show me how to put them in e-mail me. Other wise the game is very tight and if you come out with another one I will defintly buy it . I like playing the humans and rolling deep. They be Packing too. I really like playing as a dragon. I never played one before. I use the napalm because it's the best. The fire balls are best used by punks to shoot far away. It's also tight to bonbard them with fireballs. I spray them with napalm and set the crops, cars and the whole damn villiga on fire. This is a tight game and I like it.

This game was a waste of my time. Repetitive gameplay that I've seen in 20 other games before it, Little to no correlation to the movie, with the exception of the dragons, and an insanely DULL combat scheme. Honestly, You're not going to knock most of those dragons out of the air with the minigun, and you run out of rockets QUICK. Defending EVERYTHING in the friggin game sucks, and really gets on my nerves. Don't waste your time on this game, maybe even boycott the developers, they put excellent graphics on a game about as in-depth as pong, and marketed it out. This was a dissappointment and a waste.

This game has poor play control first off. I also cant sand having to defend just about everything every mission. Worst of all( and a major gaming flaw in any game) limited ammo, & unlimited enemys. I founld myself only useing the lame machine gun mostly thru the human side. The dragons are a pain to fly. & tying to pick up things is also a pain. please someone tell me what good is the napalm.the only replay value to this game is when you lose & must restart the level. This is just another movie to game atroicity. Im sorry i reanted this, & fell even worse for those of you who bought this pice of sh!t.

The graphics compared with every other game i own are awful and don't give enough texture and detail. The human levels are impossible and quite plainly BORING! The dragon levels aren't anything brilliant either. The control's are fiddly and the X button has to be pressed so damn hard to get any sort of speed. My recommendation is don't buy it, but if u want a bit of a laugh it's good. You can get preowned at GAME stores for about £5 so don't buy brand new cuz its just a waste.

I think the game kicks ass when your a human and a dragon, but you could get more ammo for the humins the graghics are great, but the radar could be bigger and more colorful but my favorit part is when you have to kill the bull dragon and run around. so the sound is even better graphics are rilly good the fun factor is rilly fun but hard and as you play thair are sceens from the movie. I stand by what i say the game kicks ass and is almost as good as vice city

Personaly,i think there's nothing wrong with this game. Except, ya can't start off as dragons!!!!! but when your a human some times, no, Most times, it rocks!!! Really there's nothing bad about this game (as i already said) the graphics rock, the dragons, the cars, the beasts, etc. What i love about the game is, because it's so long, and the levels are great. I think you should be able to run over beasts though. This is as good as HALO.

Dragons in combat with humans, a wonderful storyline but with a sickening catch: you can only be a dragon if you complete the human levels. I searched the net for codes and got a bunch of crap about invincibility and goat mode. What the heck is goat mode? Do the dragons have a beard or something? overall, the dragon levels are sweet but the human levels are sickening.

I got Reign of Fire for Christmas and I love it! It is hard in the beginning though. You can even be a dragon in it. You have to beat six human levels first though. The positives are: insane graphics(very bloody at times), cool vehicles, dragon missions, and cool weapons. The negatives are: high difficulty level, small radar, and hard-to-hear voiceovers.

Reign of fire is a great game. It's a little short but it is worth it. I never get tired of lighting human farm fields ablaze with my napalm. The only downside is the human missions can be immpossible, and the one you have to beat is so hard I wanted to melt the disk into a plastic bullet. But I was able to restrain myself... after I won.

I saw some people who wrote that the game is crappy well... FORGET YOU I loved this game the graphics are awesome the game is pretty short but just replay the missions and it gets fun so buy this game because the price of it is going down I got mine from kmart for 19.99! (great dealeo)! I think this game should have atleast a 9 out of 10

Reign of Fire is a good starter game for PS2 beginners, I started with Reign Of Fire and got hooked. The last mission was kind of frustrating but, I eventually got the hang of it.I think the creaters did a great job! I never saw the movie but it was probably as excellant and brillant as the game.

The people that claim this is the "best game ever" or even a great game need to play more games just so they know how bad this game is!! it is a poor version of Swiv (which did Rock!)
