THIS GAME IS AWESOME!27814

Graeme Alexander from Parkersburg, USA says (13/Jul/2003):
My cousin got this game from his mom a couple of months ago and Trenton wanted to show it to me. Well I thought it would be one of those boring games like pokemon and Scooby-Doo, but when I got to playing it I couldn't stop! I even started my own new memeory. Now every time I go over there Trenton always yells at me to play another game. THIS GAME ROCKS!

Deceptively Good13622

Guy that likes it (16yrs) from Merced, CA, USA says (26/Dec/2002):
We got this game for Christmas and we were kinda dissapointed but once we got it open and began playing it we were hooked. There is an abundance of things to do. This game is really an adventure game. All it shows on the back of the box is racing and crappy graphics, but it really is the opposite. The graphics are way better than the back of the box and you drive around this world and you try to win diferent races. Truly this game is based on winning races to get the World Grand Prix and become President of the land, but there's so much more to it than that. You meet other cars and there are a few mini-games to play along the way. All in all the game is pretty good, it does kinda remind me of Pokemon. You know, the low level RPG for kids that is less RPG-like than the more complex games. Good Job Takara and Conspiracy Entertainment!

If you like barney, this game is for you!30947

Ty from Oregon, USA says (24/Aug/2003):
This game has absolutely NO good points to it! It was as hard as flinging rocks at squirrles(I do it ALL the time). The graphics were cheesy and there was no storyline. it was worse than an old NES game! Why would you want stamps? Or pictures? For god's sake DO NOT RENT THIS GAME!

Take The Trip38594

Steven Christie from Kirkcaldy, Scotland says (26/Jan/2004):
I had to treat this game with some careful sceptisism. It was only £10, for a new PS2 game. There is only on egood reason that a new game is so inexpensive - it's bad. Really bad. So, I wasn't expecting anything other than average for this, especially since the older Road Trip games are abysmal at best.

But, and this really came as a surprise to me, it was okay. In fact, it is very good.

Road Trip Adventure is a racing RPG, a strange combination if ever I saw one. You need to drive from town to town in you're mini-car and do various things, such as finding lost kids (all people are cars), finding items and gettingf you're picture taken. Along the way, you can race as in any other racing game, and earn money to buy parts. Some parts are based on reality (such as Racing tyres and Sports transmission), and some are more for the RPG side of the game ( like underwater propellors to travel furthur and jet ski add ons). You can race more to upgrade you're licence to race on better tracks for more money.

It's the massive amount of gameplay stuffed on to this game that makes me love it so much. There are lots of tracks, over 100 cars and more parts than you can shake a stick at, and mini-games galore. Roulette is a personal favourite, nothing to do with the time I won 180,000 credits! There is also Football and Golf for those who want to find them.
There are so many little touches that make you smile. You can name the currency you use (I chose Gil form Final Fantasy), you can advertise on you're roof to earn money, and you can have 2 other cars racing on you're team, making money for you. The graphic style is bright and colourful, with cute squashed up representations of real cars and varied tracks like you'd see in a kart game.

There is lots to complain about if you wanted too, like strange handling, weird effects when you collide with barriers, and the off road tracks are too slidy, but at the low price I don't want to seem mean. I like this game a lot, and it's probably the best tenner you can spend on a PS2 game.
