Red Faction still lives10509

Jesse from Texas says (21/Oct/2002):
First of all the first game was awesome, even though it looked a little blocky. Now here comes the second part to this series...wow what an improvement. I was the first to buy Red Faction II from our Best Buy, it still wasn't out of the boxes they shipped it in. Enough about that, first of all you notice a total makeover... graphics they are much cleaner and smoother, much improved. The sound is just awesome, a much better improvement in this area, you can even here wailing when an enemy gets shot or hurt (very lifelike). Gameplay is fun and not annoying, the controls are different from the first one, but they are understandable and with pratice can master them. The story line is excellent (which has little or nothing to do with the first part...the only thing is the group the Red Faction) at first you forget about the Red Faction and who you are fighting for until the middle of the game, where you finally realize you are for the Red Faction...play it yourself...you will find out. Lifespan is well that is why I scored it an 8...on the single player I would have thought the story would have been longer, but give it three hours and you will beat this game. Now after you beat the game (or during) you will unlock new content...basically descriptions of weapons, enemys, friendlies, and movies. There are cheats for this game, unlike the first one, but I really haven't tested them. Now for the really cool part...multiplayer (up to four) it has tons of areas to do battle in, different mulitplayer modes from a basic deathmatch to regime, very fun and the multiplayer will keep you coming back for more. Another improvement is the vehicles, you get to spend more time in them and do an extensive amount of damage. Although you won't be driving all the time. The team plays a big role in this game, it is AI controlled but you battle with your buddy through various levels. Originality is a plus, nice storyline, in depth look at all the characters and great lifespan for this game. I recommend this game if two things...you loved the first Red Faction and if you are a fan of first person shooters! Raise up the Red Faction!!!!

First of all I thought the game was awesome27817

Aaron Taylor from Adelaide, South Australia says (13/Jul/2003):
The graphics are really improved from the first red faction. I would have prefered it if the game went for a bit longer. The storyline was allright but I don't see why sopot would want to kill his creations especially if they were as strong and as loyal as what the 2000 volunteers were in the game. I enjoy being able to play the multiplayer without having to dial - up and it means that there is allways something more to do. The sound was awesome (again) I really like the lifelike sounds that our enemies make when we shoot them. The cheats are good but I stil prefer the first red faction cheats - allammo and weapons, flight and invincibility. With red faction II you only get super health and unlimited ammo. Wouldn't it be cool if they (the red faction team) somehow lnked the first and second games together so it would be like another level after you killed masako, but that is only my opinion.
I highly recomend this game to any red faction fans and the fans of first person shooter games. The only part that I found hard about beating the game was when ALIAS was stuck in the underground labarinthe system. I could not work out where to go so i just cheated past this (my bad) any how
peace out and thanks.

Lots of cool weapons, fun ideas, but too short.28009

Chris Brown from Ottawa, ON says (17/Jul/2003):
I finished it in nine days. Normally, it takes me months to finish any good first person shooter. This irritated me, especially with knowing that the game can't be played online.

The graphics were a slight improvement over the first Red Faction game, but definately could still have been much improved, as far as the character models go. The animations in the cut scenes definately need work - the speech never matches the lip movements, and looks like you're watching ventriloquist puppets in a bad English-dubbed Japanese ninja movie.

The weapons were probably what added the most fun to this game. I loved the selection and the fact that you can have dual melee firearms (dual pistols, dual MAC-10s, dual Nano Machinepistols). The specialty weapons such as the flying gunships, tank gunner, anti-aircraft gunner and battle armour were also tons of fun. I would love to have spent more time playing with those.

In all, I was pretty disappointed, though, when the game ended so soon. I was expecting so much more, especially since botmatches are the only available multiplayer-like experience available in the game.

Weapons,Ammunition, and a whole lot of explosives24194

daniel from katy,Texas,USA says (27/May/2003):
This game In my personell opinion is the best firstperson shooter. At the beginning you have to Get some weapon in some base somewhere, whatever I'm down. The games a pretty normal first person shooter, until you get your explosives. Then thats when the game really kicks off.Right when I thought the game was over it totally turned on me and I had to fight my own team. At the end it gets alittle weird I just dont get how someone can turn into metal and attracts a bunch of electricity to his head. Whatever thats cool with me. But the real deal is the multiplayer. 40 different characters to choose from and a whole lot of weapons. My personell favorite the WASP (a giant rocket launcher that if you shoot fifteen feet to the side of someone it'll still blow him into a million peices). But if your one of those little wusses who hates violence, then get your sorry as* outa here you panzy. I had to say that cause when you shoot someone in the head with a rocket launcher there legs still stand up and then fall. The main deal with this game is weapons, ammunition ,and a whole lot of explosives.Peace

Best Shooting Game Ever13460

Sandeep Sirha from New York says (24/Dec/2002):
The garphics for this are totally awesome because you blow F#$k out of the walls and the bad guys. When you shoot any victem with any kind generade the guts go flying into wall. The destruction of the city in very good. The videos of the every ending is very explosive due to the scenery of the big booms.
