I have had this game for 6 months and I still play it a lot. I like the fact that I can earn money and modify my car as I go. To me that is the appeal of the Gran Turismo games and it works for this game as well. I hear a lot of folks belly aching about the music, the paint jobs and the lack of their favorite drivers. Who gives a crap? I came to play a race game, not to worry about who else is in the field or how pretty my paint job is. As far as the music goes I turn that off anyway. Don't quote my on this but I'm pretty sure race cars don't have stereos in them!!

This game is sweet. Anyone who doesn't like this game doesn't appreciate racing. The graphics are just as good as EA, the realism is much better, and there are 4 racing series instead of one. Who cares if there isn't a cool soundtrack or every driver in the game. The wrecks are awesome too, more realistic than Nascar Thunder. It only takes a bump from behind or in the corner to send a car spinning out, where in Thunder you can nail a car coming out of the pits at full speed and nothing really happens. I enjoy thunder too, but for a solid more realistic game I gotta go with Dirt to Daytona!

Now, I love the idea of racing the other series I just wish other cars would be put in. The car setup features were more Sophisticated than Thunder. But, the way all the cars drove was horrible except for the dirt cars (without stability). There was no special paint schemes and most of the cars out there were fantasy cars that could not compete. It is an easy field to go against. If your looking for a game that is much like this, I would definately wait for Thunder '05 which promises similar features. The game's surroundings are not quite as detailed as other Nascar games out there. In review, this is a game you will only play when your bored to death. And once you get it, you'll stop playing after a week or two. I give this game a thumps DOWN.

Dirt to Daytona is the bomb. I can not stop playing.I liked the game because of the graphics.I also liked it because the career mode is so realistic. You start out with dirt racing.Then you move up to modifieds. Then you move up to the craftsman truck series. Then you move up to the big time.The Winston Cup Series.Dirt to Daytona is the best!Dirt to Daytona is the best Nascar game ever made.I have been playing this game for about 1 week. I play it about 4 hours every day. It is a very cool game.I own Nascar Heat 2002.It does not even come close to Dirt to Daytona.If you compare Dirt to Daytona and Nascar Heat 2002.The graphics in Dirt To Daytona are double what Nascar Heat 2002's are.It is the best game ever made.I wish they would have made a second part to Dirt to Daytona.It would be the best game on the market.Nascar is the best type of racing game.It tops Need For Speed Underground by alot.I wish more people would like it.

This game is probably the best nascar game i've ever played... after Nascar Heat 2002. For the guy who said he can't win a plate race. your a joke if you can't win at Daytona then don't even play the game... for the people who complained that Bill Elliott and Michael Waltrip weren't in the game.... who gives a $#< remove me > at !! the only problem i have is the missing tracks

If anyone can say this I will have a challenge tournament style. there are three of us here that can win 20 races a season and we want want to see if anyone can contend with us.

as for why busch series isnt there, why have to race two cars that are very similar in this environment. although it would be cool to maybe have kart racing or even sprints also. but hell, ya cant please everyone all of the time. as for the racing, the cars seem a little tight especially in the race the pro section, its hard to get the cars to drive down into the corners without doing just a little tweaking to them.

I have played millions of NASCAR games and this is the second best that I have ever played (first place NASCAR Rumble for the original playstation(PS1 or PSX). and if i have ever played a really really good NASCAR game these are the best of the best. So if anyone sees either of these games for sale and you do not have one of them or either of them you should buy them as soon as you can.

Dirt to Daytona is the only race game out there that is any good. I have played all the rest. nothing compares. Career mode is awesome, because like every driver in the winston cup series, has worked his way up from a street stock, modified, or a truck. You get to make all your own adjustments, just like the real thing. plus the adjustments make sense too, unlike nascar thunder. You have to be a real race fan to enjoy the adjustments, and all you folks crying about it being too hard, figure out the adjustments and youll be fine. unless you have never touched a wrench before in your life. Plus, this game kicks ass cause you can run a modified. plus the tracks are life like, all the short tracks are just like real short tracks. only flaw, is they should have the real drivers name in the featherlite modified series. And double digit numbers on the modified, the only driver who sports triples anymore is Bob Polevari. 72 Jimmy Kuhn FMS. Dirt to Daytona is a racers game, you posers buy nascar thunder like you should.

Does this game have all the drivers? No. Why? The drivers that are missing have exclusive deals with other companies or their sponsors didnt agree to be shown in the game. And what kind of Bill Elliott fan doesn't know that yes, there ARE two "t"'s in Elliott.
As for the game itself. I'll give a good and bad listing
The Good:
Career mode is far better than the EA version. I like battling from dirt cars to Cup cars.
The handling - The cars are incredibly easy to drive, and unlike the EA game (esp 2004), it doesn't slam you into another car when you're trying to pass. The preset setups are great.
Unlockables - smacking people with volleyballs isn't part of real racing, granted, but it's a heck of a lot of fun.
The bad :
Not all drivers are in the game, but the important ones are. The missing include Bill Elliott, Jimmie Johnson, Jeremy Mayfield and Michael Waltrip. Big loss..
No Indy, no Pocono and no Chicago
Easy mode is too easy, and hard mode is too hard
The plate tracks are impossible to win on in career mode, no matter how good you are, ditto for Darlington.
EA is far better in terms of extras like music and background graphics, but it's far too complex, and the drivability of the cars sucks. The graphics are actually rather even.

Stupid infogrames this game is dumb and you know tt's dumb cause it's very stupid and stupid people keep putting Bill Elliot's name with two T's!Oh yeah back to the game it's really anyoing like the music it's very stupid they don't put ROCK music on there game. EA Sports makes better games like Nascar thunder! I just think Infogrames didn't pull it off this year.

Those Son of a B's Infogrames this game sucks! They don't have every driver like Michael Waltrip and Bill Elliott! and career mode sucks cause you can't get a real ride! Most drivers start in Busch series that's why I hate this GAME cause you can't start in busch series!

It was pretty good for your money but by that i mean wait a while for the price to go down. I bought it for about $26 and it was pretty buch a good deal. I just think the people out there that spent $40-$50 on this game are either retarted or didn't think about the value. Thats why looking at the back of the box proves useful. This game has its ups and downs. For instance it is missing many of the drivers we are so use to seeing in races. It is also missing the busch series which is a major factor in racing but the rest is pretty reliable normaly though you would start out in sprint the dirt OR modified and then work to craftsmen then busch and finaly winston cup.besides that nascar seemed to hit the nail on the racing market. It is a good game for people who just don't give, you know for the people who just like racing but for you detail finatics somewhat like me it wont be as fun. I'd say but it..... but only for under $30 any thing over that price is a waste...

Okay I can see why infogrames is so dumb they don't even have sponsers that are real they copy real sponsers like ol'ron's dog food copying Ol'roys dog food. And Doka cola copying Coca Cola and Medicene Vizer instead of Phizer and Viagra and same logo's like 77 fuel and greatyear tires and don't have any DEI cars not even JR.8! and don't have have J.Johnson,J.Spencer,J.Nemechek,K.Petty,B.Elliott,J.Green,J.Andretti And J.Mayfield and Elliott Sadler awlways gats pole and Hermie Sadler always wins and thats sucks unless Jeff Gordon gets there first! They have a crappy career mode.there create a car is so stupid they don't let you have real sponsers. If you like this stupid game then you should try nascar thunder. I used to like infogrames till i played EA SPORTS NASCAR THUNDER,and there graphics just blow me away! I hope you losers turn to winners when you play EA's game. EA taught me alot about nascar that I did not know.Infogrames do not teach you anything.

but i think you should be able to run a team of cars and create ur own sponsor and hire ur drivers. and maybe even create a track

I think it is great but I think it should have the MESA MARIN Winston West track and some more cars. The graphics are great, very realistic. I think that it is very original as I have never seen another game like it. I do believe that it should have a lot more tracks. The original soundtrack I think is very good. There should be a Nascar Dirt to Daytona volumes II and III that include more drivers and more replay options where you can see yourself driving and flipping over maybe from the grandstands point of view. This is a very fun game because if you do spin you sometimes flip over which most of the games I have played do not have. It was a very good value. Perhaps the best game ever. It even has the inside car cam. The career is the most real career mode ever. I have played the game over and over and it still works great. I do like entering the cheat codes and wish there could be one for a Dale Earnhardt car. Maybe a code to unlock an old track with all the old legends of Nascar and Stock Car Racing.
