Awful, Dull, Go For Soul Reever Instead |

Recently I played this game a couple years back and I didn't really care for this game the controls were confusing, the game play was rather borring to be honest. Meaning that there was absolutely hardly no action in the beginning of the game, it was a z'ing meaning having you snoozing through the game or during game play for that matter. The lifespan of this game is lengthy, if you are willing to have the paitence to try and figure out the puzzles and all of that sort of thing. Now with Devil May Cry 1 & 3 out those 2 are more likely to be more popular but I wouldn't bother playing this if you didnt care for 1, but you may want to consider 1 if you enjoyed that and skip 2 and just go right into 3 because this game Devil May Cry 2 is just awful.....if you disliked this game,here's two alternatives try going with Soul Reever and Perhaps Resident Evil, and shadowman instead. These are more worthy of your money. The sound fo this game is expectational, originality is here indeed as a follow up to the first release. Again the title wasn't anything like
Devil May Cry : The return, instead it was just called 2, which means it basically is the same as the first just with a whole new storyline and the expectational fantasy violence and finding jewls to keep a high rank score along with trying to beat a particular level in a certain amount of time time. The reason why I offered up Resident Evil as an alternative because it's more well known in Capcom's name. So Soul Reever & Shadowman are silimar to The Devil May Cry Series. Vaule of this game used runs from about $7.49 to 8.99 {Game Crazy} $9.99 {EB Games}. New more than likely around the same perhaps even $14.99. The fun factor is a 3.25 out of 5. For sound is 3.5 out of 5. So I hope I could be of some assitance in helping you in your decision to buy this game or not for your collection.

There's a disease in the movie and video game industry called bad sequelitis. It's when a movie or a game that you really loved is followed up by the biggest pile of steaming dung you've ever seen. This is what DMC 2 has, and it has it bad. The first DMC was one of my favortie games ever and I still love playing it. I just played through it last week, and it still rules. DMC 2 trys way too hard to out-do it's predecessor, and it falls flat in the attempt. Where the first game had style and character, the second game has nothing. No storyline, no good characters, and no Trish. Who is Lucia, and what does she have to do with Dante? DMC 2 is also one of the easiest games ever, too. In some cases you may acttually have to try to die. I'm not kidding. Capcom took everyting that was great from the first game and just buthchered it. I would have loved a game that played exactly like the first game, but with new weapons, levels, enemies, combos, and story. That would have been awesome. I feel so let down by this game its not even funny. What happened to Dante's outfit? Why is he sporting the open-chested David Hasselhoff look? Oh well, maybe DMC 3 will redeem the series. Keep your fingers crossed.

DMC 1 was such a huge success, DMC 2 depends on what you prefer to see. The graphics should not be disrespected, although there was a feel of 'graininess' to it. The proper CG sequence graphics were really something, something that makes Devil May Cry look slightly inferior. BUT it doesn't mean it takes the crown of its predicessor. Dante is back, this time dealing with Arius who wants the power of Argosax. Alongside with the ass-kicking half-human half-devil is Lucia, who beholds a secret which I feel wasn't too shocking. The fighting is improved for there is the extra ability to run up and along walls, as well as using an automatic 'Air Hike' ability. However, the weapons never really seemed like memorable trademarks, besides Ebony and Ivory.
An amulet ability menu is a new option in DMC 2, where you can choose the elements you wish to use to fight. This means however that you have to waste a little more time selecting the powers you want rather than be equipped with a power from a weapon, which you can also upgrade. Also you'll need to discover certain amulets from puzzles.
There are more bosses involved, although I feel there were too many. The story unfortunately was very limited and Dante loses his cheesy one liners!
However, the fighting is still very involving, but that sense of gothicness and scariness began to fade. This game's success depends on what you feel but I don't think it was able to topple the might of DMC 1.

Devil may cry was a brilliant game it had loads of cool bosses and moves but dmc2 was a step up for the company . So insted of just a castle a hole island [a demon paradise more like] with bigger more chalenging bosses who will get your heart thumping like dantes /son of sparda or lucias.I realy can't wait for dm3 to come out or so i'v heard from my magazine.Dm2 has ace grafics which gives you more of a thrill.I say it has a fun factor of10/10. and is a must for all gamers alike so if you got some money when you go to your local game shop it is one to buy. dmc2 made me imagen my self in the game.Oh and hear is a littel somthing i made up:devel may cry 2 makes you stick to da ps2 like glue bom bom you will know what I mean when I say dante is a killing machine bom bom bom boba bom bom.

Dmc was the best game of it's time, but when Dmc2 came out it blew all the games away! The graphics are awsome and the sound quality worked out to be great! This game is worth the money times 2!!! I give it a 9 out of 10, the only thing that could have been a little better is the veiw of which the game is being played. The best thing about it is the moves that you can pull. AWESOME combos. And nice devil trigger!!! The game is awesome, I recomend it to everyone! When the game starts it has dante fighting lucia, great way to start the game. In th beginning on the level you can run with Dante on top of the buildings and pull some awesome combos and tricks. This is the best game I have ever played. The last boss " Argosax the chaos" is awesome and actually fun to beat. Most games have these immposible to beat, boring bosses, but this boss is very hard, but not immposibly hard and very fun!!! BUY THE GAME!!!

2 thumbs up! Devil May Cry 2 is amazing. Devil May Cry was amazing, but Devil May Cry 2 was ineffable. Everything in Devil May Cry is in its sequel and more. Now you got cool moves like running on walls and shooting handstand like in the air, and the devil trigger looks cool as heck. Though Devil May Cry 2 is much easier than the first game even while playing it on Dante Must die mode and has like 5 less levels, and lacks slash em up bosses, this game is 100% Fun. I wish that the next game has 32 levels. Easiness is no reason to exclude this game. Plus you can play as Lucia. Dante's outfit is awesome. How are they going to make a cooler outfit for Dante in Devil May Cry 3. Plus all the stuff there is to unlock will have you playing for a long time. 10 out of 10. Best action game ever, not best action game of 2003, but best action game ever!!!

Over all the game is definetly awsome, the new moves and the the kick ass stunts as well as the new bad guys, story line was ok, but I was hoping it would have something to do with the first game, WHAT HAPPEN TO TRISH!!
I kinda miss the other weapons though, dont get me wrong the new guns and the amulets are cool cause you can do things that you wanted to do with the fire powers and the flying powers put together but i also miss the special moves for that. Come to think of it if they had just made it like the first game only with the new moves and stuff as well as a continued story line the game would have been a trillion times better, I mean take metal gear solid 2 for example, that was a incredible game i just wish they didnt make it soooooo much like the first game and use a different person, that pissed me off.

devil may cry 2, is one of the best follow up games of its time the graphics are sharper, there is a wider variety of moves including the matrixy stylee wall running, double shooting and a whole new devil trigger, with a new charachter to play as (lucia.) theres twice the fun and twice the killin. why would anyone buy and play dmc2, because it is the best game ever released by capcom and is the funnest game i have played in a long time!!! and i play games as a job!!! only one regret, its a bit short? but the second disc makes up for that so don't worry! with sharper graphics, more s!?t to kill than in all the tekken games put together this will please any gamer with a sense of humour and is amazed by speed and power, the bottom line is GET THIS GAME!!!

Lets start at the beginning...I loved devil may cry, and still think that its one, if not the best console game to come out in its 3rd person genre at least! The graphics were superb at the time (and still look good!), the storyline was fantastic, and the weapons, moves and upgrades made the game just that bit more fun. I love the Sparda and Ifrit Gauntlets... Why am i talking about DMC, u ask? Well, lets face it, the only game you can compare to DMC 2 is DMC. After playing dmc 2, i was slightly dissapointed. The storyline is much better in the original and i think that they could have done much better with the graphics as i didn't notice any real improvement. Aside, the game has the originality of the original, and as ever the game has content and unlockable features. Which we all love right? Anyway, i feel the game was a bit to monotonous and that there should be more moves (upgradable ones like the original prehaps?) to make it even more exciting. All things considered, how many games, films etc manage to outdo their first and original in a series? Not many. However, still a great game with reasonable graphics, good gameplay, content (size), originality and flair. There should be a comic book series made... So, when is devil may cry 3 out then?

this game is a special game because of its unique genre u dont find to many games like this out there this info ma not be full of cheats because i cant find any cheats its one of thode games that not many cheats are maid for which also make this game special because uyou can either cheat to win or play the game the hard way i preferably like to play my games the hard way which is a good way to play because if you clock a game with cheats on you cant really say you have played the whole game which is a really stupid thing this game is a fast paced action
game which is more my style over all i give this game a 9 out of ten 10 because it lackes one thing two player modes which most good games need because if you play a good game it should be played with a freind otherwise the game could get boring which could put people off buying it and that could cause a major problem i think this game should go platnem so it would sell more copies so you could compair you rank to others on the net

i am a master gamer and i have played about every game created for any system so for.i even desing games.When i heard that this game was coming out,i just had t buy it,other people told me not to buy it because it sucks,not a good story line,well $#< remove me > at ! you people,if you think this game sucks,then you should not even play a dam video game ever again.People told me this games was way to easy to beat but they were wrong.For you people who want to know what happen to trish,well she was not put into this game for a specific reason,she was acually quite lame as a charector,the story line is not coneected because it would make this game to $#< remove me > at !ing stupid to play.mundis is not in it either because he was killed in the first ine and sent back to hell because he would be way to weak and to stupid to be in this game.
In a way dante's father is in this one because if dante's healthe is barley visable and you use the devil trigger,he turns into an advanced version of his father,10x the strength,special attacks.If you do not like what i said,i do not really care,if you hate this game that bad then why did you even think of buying it you $#< remove me > at !ing idiots,do not waste your money on gmaes then.

When I finished the first game and found out that there was going to be a second, I was totally wild to get it, because the first one was FANTASTIC! I loved the atmosphere, I loved the rock music while fighting, I loved everything about it. When I got the new one, I was NOT disappointed, but surprised over the new scenes... In DMC 1 the atmosphere in the castle was scarier than DMC2's new "Devil City"-atmosphere... I also got surprised when I found out that Dante's voice is different from the first... This is not a big thing, but it kinda irritates me... I don't know why. Devil May Cry 2 is a really good game, but I think that the missions are too short. I haven't finished the game yet, but so far I highly recommend it!! It's worth all the money!!! It has to be played before you feel like me!!

I thought this game was brilliant loved the way Dante's moves flowed. The using two guns to shoot at two different opponents was class and the matrix style moves (running up walls etc) though a bit of a rip-off were brilliantly executed as was the gameplay which I felt had an arcadey feel like the first DMC which is always welcome the game is a nice long game with plenty to unlock and it was loads of fun to play (i'm still playing it) but my major complaint is apart from Dante there doesn't seem to be any link to the original it would have been nice to see the inclusion of Alastor and Ifrit from the orignal game as these were the weapons he got and used I would have also liked to see something in the story to tie this in a little bit more to the original Lucia in my opinion could also have been introduced in a better way because and her inclusion could have been explained better in Dantes storyline because at first you wonder who she is although it gets explained later on (when you reach her disk) it never seems to be explained all that clearly neither does how she ended up in the same place as Dante. The reason Dante is on the island never gets explained clearly nor how Dante and Lucia know each other Dante remains silent through a lot of his missions presumably this is to let you get straight into the action which I don't have any complaints about but it would have been nice to have a clearer explaination of Dante's story and although Lucias is explained it isn't explained in that much depth which is a shame as she's a new character. An explanation of what happened to Trish would be nice as well although you can unlock her (I haven't yet but i'm nearly there) I hope this gives a clearer picture of things. Lucia's adventure especially as hers is a seperate disk should have been seperated more from Dante's because a lot of the hearts they get are same so how can Lucia have a heart that Dante's already got and how can the kill the same bosses and so on the Amulet system could also have been done better they could have made some puzzels that the hearts could be used to solve such as using the Flame Heart to light torches or fires to progress instead of only being there to enhance the Devil trigger attacks which is good but I think it could have been done better with the inclusion of puzzels that use the hearts also it doesn't seem to matter what heart you use the attacks are still the same in devil trigger mode the hearts don't unlock new attacks or abilities you can get I heart that heals you and one that enhances your physical attacks and makes them more powerful but isn't the same as being able to buy new abilities like the kick 13 for Ifrit in the first game that's another wasted opportunity the other complaint I have is the upgrade system you need to 5000 orbs to unlock the first upgrade
for the basic sword and you need 40000 to get the Final upgrade which I found means you need to play the game through at least once to max out one sword which I think is bad because most players aren't going to want to complete the game to max out one sword whcih you really wanted maxed out on the first time through other than the complained mentioned this game is excellent and easy to pick up and play and get straight into overall a brilliant if slightly flawed game with several missed opportunities which is a shame but worth picking up if your a fan of the first DMC or you like these sorts of games and can look past the faults if you can do that then there is solid action adventure title here that will keep you entertained for a few weeks......just don't expect miricles

I never played the frist one because the graphics totally sucked ass.The new one is so awesome i cant stop playing it.i had to buy the stradigy guide so i could get everything.the only bad thing is the enemys are super easy and infinit ammo. makes the game alot easer to beat.

Last February, I rented this game because I LOVED the first one. The first DMC had a very intriguing story, characters to care for and characters to have fun hating so much. The first DMC even explained how Dante and Sparda were connected to each other and answered ALL questions to who was fighting who and why.
I got excited about this game, because I was hoping for this game to be as good as the first one, but I was WRONG!!! This game SUCKED!!!!! Bad acting, lame characters, and a bland story made me want to turn into a demon and beat the holy hell out of those DMC2 people. Dante's equally bland ending were just plain bland. Lucia was just OK, but nothing like the most fascinating Trish. Arius was nothing like the evil and more interesting villain Mundus and....what else can I say?
Actually, the most devastating part was that this game had nothing to do with the first game. Trish and Mundus were ignored, there was no explaination on what happened to Trish or why she is out of this game, and the enemies sucked. All those elements made this game a real sucky game.

When I heard that there was going to be a sequel to the smash-hit , Devil May Cry ,I was excited , I saved my hard earnt money so i could buy it , but my excitement finished when I played the game . Put it simply:THIS GAME IS A DISSAPOINTMENT.The new atmospheric levels allow the player to just run , with no need of fighting since there are lots of orbs around.The A.I. in this game is terrible compared to that of the first one.Of course , the graphics of the characters have been improved , but no so much.What the hell happened to Alastor and Ifrit ?those were the most original arms Iīve ever seen , and the abilities each one gave Dante were extremely cool.In this game those weapons are gone , replaced with a couple of standard swords.The bosses here are just bigger enemies with longer lifebars , and you donīt really need to use your sword because you can just use your guns to kill them(you can use the sword if you wish , but youīll get asskicked).Another thing.What the hell happened to Trish? It seems that capcom just want her out īcause she doesnīt appear in any point of the story.Of course you can unlock her as you play , but it just isnīt the same.The amulet system is something that couldīve been a lot better too , but you can simply finish the game without knowing it actually exists.Another thing.WHO THE HELL IS LUCIA? I feel no atachment to her whasover , and playing with her could be irritating mostly because of the moves she has , she doesnīt hit the target with precision.Overall , this game is a dissapointment , and itīs not what I expected , the first one is a thousand times better .If you īre thinking on buying it , I say put your hard-saved money somewhere else.

Hey hey, i was a fan of the first one but even that wasn't to crash hot either but the 2nd one was pretty damn terrible, i think its because i expected it to be like that from the first one. There wasn't really any major changes from the first one besides having 2 disks and seperate storys that join into one.
Combos were interesting at the start but then the repeatition was starting to get noticable, not cause i did the same moves ,cause i did all the moves all the time cause there wasn't enough. Very good idea though with the demon hunter and him being one himself thing.Must be getting inspiration from MANGA!

it's cool but for me the 1st one was more challenging, but we got better moves in dmc2.....the disappointing thing is when you strike the enemy in the air their hangtime is so short so when i blow an enemy with dante in the air the enemy descends quickly unlike in dmc1 u can shoot the enemy in front of u in the air, i miss that action!!! lucia is a cool chick though she's better than trish! the new moves are too........if there will be a dmc3 i wish they make it a fusion of dmc1 and dmc2!!!!
