First of all this game was almost, exactly following the story line of DBZ up to the end of cell games. the graphics are all really awesome. They did a really great job.(well as good as funimation can get) One of the drawbacks that really bugged me was the circles all of the character have for shadows. that is the only graphical error I found. the music needs direction. And aside from the extremly short gameplay (took me 4 hours to beat the main game first day I had it) if you are looking for a multiplayer fighting game based on DBZ, you will love this game! Hey if funimation got together with the makers of Tekken 4, they would have made the absolute best fighting game to date!

First of all, let me just say that the DBZ cartoon is excellent. As for every game released for it, well, they suck. And i'm saying this lightly. The graphics are o.k, but fail to capture the true personality of the characters. Take for instance cell. His fighting stance is either exact or similar to everyone elses in the game, and his moveset is very limited and boring. His spirit bomb, probably the most powerful and awe-inspiring up to the cell saga, is shown as just a wimpy little animation in the game. Alright, i'll take a break from cutting on this game and give it its few props it deserves. The capsules you collect throughout the game to better mold your favorite dbz character is fun, and will give you a reason to play the game a bit longer. Also, the moves are quite easy to execute and some of the animations stay pretty close to the cartoon. Overall, this game will only be entertaining for hardcore dbz fans, NOT for fighting game fanatics, for they will not find much depth or strategy in this game.

The 1st time I saw Budokai. I though that it would be like the old skool games which where not all that great. this game is way better than DBZ hyperdemonsion which is only in Jap. The game gives you a different type of battle. where you can turn super saiyan or level up as you play the game is freakin trippy. The graffixz are cartoonish but it works for the game. you gotz to play this game. Best DBZ game out now.

This game is the best game ever the graphics is cool. But i did not like it that there was no buu saga if there was a buu saga and some more characters you would get ten marks from me.the finishing moves are cool and i like it that you can kick them into clifs and of edgesand spirit bomb is amazing.

I played Budokai and beat it in one day. It lacks a good storyline. The only other flaw is the sound. Otherwise this is a really fun game. The World Tourament is cool and the graphics are top notch, but the total lack of gamplay really brings this game down. Its made by Funnamation witch really ruined the game. They mess with a good show then call it there own. Vegetas Big bang Attack, not his Big Bash Attack funamation! This is a game that I would recomend to a DBZ fan that would just play it to womp up on some of there favorite characters or some of there worst hated villans. I expecally played it to show Goku who the real sayain prince was :D. Well theres some unlockables that are cool as well, expecaly Krillin-Cell (you'll have to see for yourself kiddies). You can play with a lot of different characters but without a Buu saga whats the point? This game, on the upside to its short story, puts in a Tourament mode witch lets you have hours of fun after you beat the game. You can win cash and buy skills and stuff from Mr. Popo (He kinnda sounds like a drug dealer! Hey kids let me sell you some capsules!). All in all its an ok game that lets you have some fun with the Dbz gang. Now go and put the hurtin' on some of your freinds.

dbz is a great game i liked it because it covers everything in dbz up to the end of the cell games saga the only bad thing that i was unhappy about is that it hasn't got garlic junior or majiin buu in it it has got great modes like story and world match. if you complete story mode you unlock extra episode like in the saiyan saga you get to control vegeta and see what would happen if he did beat the z fighters and if frieza actually got his wish and if cell acidentley absorbed krillin also once you get all seven dragon balls you can have a wish. fighting cell as super saiyan2 gohan will be a memorable moment well that's all im' going to mention see ya

Graphics. The graphics are very good I must admit, they are very detailed for cartoon characters. There is over 12 different locations to battle and they are all very impressive, the graphics are overall very impressive and hard to be improved in my opinion. Sound. The sound is one of the main problems, why is there not any proper dbz series music, why do the characters speak japenese and voices sound far much different which spoils it terribly. The sound effects on the super saiyan transformation however are magnificent, and the crashing into mountains effects are great! Gameplay. The gameplay is very fun, and entertaining, but it is jut far too short during story mode! It lasts for about a week before you unlock everything, the story mode is missing alot too, it skips important scenes such as Cell absorbtion technique. However it does include details like Gohans arm when it is broken during battle. There is an impressive tournament mode where you can win prize money, you can visit a capsule shop which is a good idea, there is alot of exciting factors that you will discover if you rent this game. So the gameplay is pretty good I guess, and there is blood. However, it is like Tekken accept you can fly and use energy blasts! Lifespan. It will last very long and the game is pretty tough because it alway falls on the floor it still works! Overall, a very good game and a great attempt!

This is a good game. It is however, way too short. I rented the game and beat the story mode in about a hour. There is no replay factor in this game at all. After u beat it and unlock all the tournament modes, it is about the most boring game i have ever played. Even in the story mode there is only about 8 fights (8 good, harder fights, some of the fights like the one against android 19 are just way too easy). I got this game for christmas, and i don't think i have played it since that morning. Dragonball Z Legends for PS1 has a better story mode, but if u are debating between the two, i would tell u to get Budokai.

When i first started playing this game after renting it, I immediately knew I had to buy it. It has it all. The graphis are great. They really capture all of the emotions and expressions each character is unique for haveing. The sound is great to. It is always upbeat and always different in which ever mode you chooses. Gameplay was awesome. The many different choices (i.e story, duel, legend of Hercule) are amazing and kept me playing for hours! It is fun beyond expectations and I think a must have for any DBZ fan.

it is a brilliant game but ther are a lot of flaws, its too slow to load,moves are strange, in tournament mode that guys japanese jabering can REALY tick you off, in 2 player mode only 1 person can use custom charecters unless you have another memory card,i really dont like mr popo's skill shop because its randon skill (i spent 6 1/2 hours looking for trunk's buster cannon) and the story mode is too short.
But i have to admit even with all these problems it is still a good game once you get used to it, a must buy for all DBZ fans but personaly i'd wait untill the price goes down a bit before buying it.
(1 more thing thats a problem.... GETTING BEATEN BY HERCULE/MR SATAN IN THE FINAL OF A TOURNAMENT IS SO ANNOYING NOT TO MENTION EMBARRASING)

DBZ Budokai is one of, if not the best DBZ game i've ever played. Previous one's have been ok, but this one kicks rear end! I have 4 favorite characters, Vegeta, Trunks, Goku, and Gohan. i love the Super Kamehameha, and the Spirit Bomb, but one of my favorite moves is the Warp Kamehameha, and the Final Flash too. This game totally beats all other fighting games. i only have one problem with the game, the frigin' Tournaments are too darn hard! If anyone's got ne suggestions, please help! LoL, Anyway, i like the amount of life the game gives you too. Itz real fun and i enjoy playing the game, i'll give it a 9. And also, this game follows the storyline almost exactly. Which i find awesome! All i can say is, the graphics kick butt, it has all the right characters, and the gameplay is unbelelivable! Great Game!

this is the best fighting 3D action adventure game in the whole history of fighting .This game has the most of the cast of DBZ and they sound the same as the cartoon.But the only problem with this game is they did not have the crazyest motherf< remove me > at %ker in the whole entire history of DBZ evil kid buu .common sense if you are going to have a whole lot of episodes of this little guy and make a lot of cash and not let him in this game its pretty stupid.you could of made x2 the cash earnings if you would of added a couple more people of the crew from DBZ .But still its the best cartoon game in the century .good luck on the next DBZ game, next time think of the "fans " and not just whanting to just finish fast .

DBZ Budokai is a great game and the graphics, fighting style and attacks are wicked. I agree with James Cherry, they should have put Majin Buu and Dabura in it, but i'm afraid they haven't. But the thing is, If they put Hercule and Gohan saiyaman in it, why didn't they put somone like Supreme kai or Videl in it? I mean, it's just bad that you just got Zenie for the Novice and get characters for the harder stages like Adept and Advanced. Super Saiya-jin 3 kakaroto (Goku) would be wicked but they only but Super Saiya-jin and Sauper saiya-jin 2 levels in it. But apart from all that, it's the best fighting game i've ever played. Beats the heck out of Tekken 4 or Mortal Kombat.

I don't own the game but I do rent it when it is in and I say this is a very good game!!!!!I couldn't beleive how good the grphics and sounds were!The characters actually look like the ones on T.V.!And sound like em' too!!They couldv'e made you be able to jump and fly without you or somebody else being thrown into the air, and also, the moves took a lot of combinations of the remote which made my fingers sore.And the only you could fly/run fast is if you mash the over button like 3 times and hold it.Well, this is a really cool game!!!And even cooler if you play on a big screen!!!

DBZ Budokai's a really cool game 'cos the graphics are really good and look like the cartoon, its a bit short, but the game alone makes up for that, it'd be a bit better if you could get people like Majin vegeta, Majin Buu, Super Buu, Kid buu, Chaozu, Master Roshi, Dabura, Vegito, Gotenks and Kibito-Kai, they did miss lots of characters but the characters they did put in are really awesome, the attacks like Trunks' Blaster Cannon and Radits' Double Sunday are really good looking and if you keep pausing and unpausing as its happening you eventually get to a stage where it looks like the person you attacked is self destructing, so all and all, if your a DBZ fan then buy this game!

It is so short, i mean you can fight in a tournament and do story mode and ya, thats fun but after that it is boring. All it is used for once you do everything is just fight on it. You can't do like missions or anything else. You just go against an oppenant and fight or have a friend come over and fight with them. It is sooooooo boring. The only cool thing about it is that you can play as the DBZ characters on it and it is so cool at first but then it is VERY boring afterwards.

First of all I would like to say this game is awsome. theres twenty-three playable characters including Frieza,Vegeta,and Piccolo!Also the story mode is real cool,you play as characters such as Cell,Goku,Piccolo,and more.The main downfall is you can't play as Majjin Buu or Chou-zou.The story mode like I said is cool,you play through the Saiyan saga,Namekian saga,and Cell games saga.The sound is also great.The original voice actors from the show lend their voices to the game.The game's background music is awsome.While your playing the game music adds an extra edge to the game.The graphics are also sweet.The game makes you feel like your watching the cartoon.The backgrounds also look very nice.It's not just fun to sling your oponent through a mountain,plumb through the ground,or beat on their dead carcass it's fun to watch it happen.After the story mode if you can beat advanced tornament mode and check Mr.Popo's skill shop you will unlock the "Legend of Hercule" mode.{it's where you play in what the public thinks happened at the Cell Games tournement.}The special skill grapics are real good.Like Goku's Kamahamaha or Vegeta's Big Bang Attack looks like your watcing them use their attacks on the cartoon.The most impressive I think are Piccolo's Speacial Beam Cannon,Vegeta's Final Flash attack,and Trunks' Burning Attack. All in all I think this is a excellent game,and evryone I know thinks the same.And if anyone knows where to get any Dragonball z/gt video games in the state of Kentucky please e-mail me.

This vidoe game, while fun to play doesnt last very long. I rented this game for 5 days I am on day two and I have beaten the entire game, unlocked every character, earned every breakthrough move and beat the legend of hercule mini game. so if you like a game thats fun to play but lacks a lot of depth then by all acounts buy it. but dont come crin' to me when your bored with it after 2 days of playing

My fellow readers, if you have not experienced the thrill of watching a saiyan's first transformation, the spirit bomb, My two favorite characters(Goahn as a kid going S.S.2 and Trunks)actually having a bit of a fighting chance instead of always being a loser, now's the chance. DBZ has come far, has brought great things to the word 'Fighting.' I mean, now adays, when you get pissed, don't you just want to burst into flames and sore the skies? i am Max, the youngest 13 year old Saiayn outcast. And if you are tired of waiting for the show on T.V. why not watch it in 3d with yoi deciding if Yamcha can beat Vegeta, or Tien beating Cell!! This game is rated above ten.

DBZ-B was an awsome game, but I do have some thoughts. First of all, more and better characters, like Majjin Buu, Goten, Cooler, King Cold, Master Roshi, Chautsu, And some Secerit characters not in DBZ you can get by using codes, Characters like... Mickey Mouse, Lara Croft, Blade, Pacman, Kiby, and Yugi From Yu-Gi-Oh. Better Attacks, like Tien's Tri-Beam, Cell's Absorb and Perfect Sting, Goku's Super Sayin 3, And more. Mini Games would be nice, and There's got to be a way to get the DragonBalls a little easyer. Oh And let fusion be avalible, so Goten and Trunks, Goku and Vegeta, and possibly, 2 of the secerit characters, Can fuse together. I hope Someone Uses some of my Ideas.
