The game is great but the ability to transform as a super saying sucks. I want a game that when I transform the aurora is still around me when i fly and bend the rules don't let that drain the energy and the slow motion punches should be in affect when I do a powerful attack. And for god’s sake let us be able to transform into the ape at will and then be able to change to normal form. Like I said bend the rules include majin buu all forms and make a mode where you can train and reach UN heard of levels such as ssj4 then battle in the tournament ape included.

this is defiently the best dragonballz game there is. The graphics are sweet the story mode rocks the charaters are awesome my fav is goku.my favorite saga is the freiza saga because after you beat him it shows this sweet video of goku turning super sayian with these freaky white eyes.i suggest that you only buy it if your a fan. thanks.........

If your child under 16 this game is probably the world to you.why not its nothing but the show.The essence of dragonball is to TRAIN to get stronger.the thrill of the fight.The fighting is horrific.You can see they only catered to the kids with this one.Dragonball Gt was better.If the sluggish controls was address,it'd beat the pants off the Ps2 version regardless of the graphics.I just someone would make the perfect game for DBZ.It deserves it.

dragonballz budokai is everything a fan needs from lightning fast fighting to the brilliant graphics there are seven modes two keep you busy.but it is to short i finished it in under 4 hours including the legend of mr.satan but the graphics are brill the sounds are a bit of a let down due to no voices from the tv series but being able to recreate your favourite fights is a must but you still get the good old kamehameha and distructo discs to make up for it this game is incredibly fun to play and hercule and his crazy moves will keep you laughing for days.to make it bettter they should have included buu.in budokai 2 there are a lot of new characters like supreme kai,goten chibi tunks,videl ect and a all new dragon mode were there will be 2 on 2 fighting and a new what if where goku and hercule fuse and so do tien and yamcha fuse i don't know how they'll do that though over all this is a very very very good game and a must for fans of the tv program it's a shame that they did'nt add in garlic jr and the buu sagas but we can hope for them in the 2nd budokai game

dragonballz budokai is the best game i ever played.the grafphis are good. the chathers are off the hook. the story mode is the best so is the traineing is cool to.i think goku is the best.there is a lot of action. i couldn't pull myself away from this game. every chance i get i play the game. it is so exciting. i can't wait untill i get through all the levels.

i like the game but if u play it to much it will get old but I like the players but i would have like it to make it longer and i like all the moves but i hope they make a role playin dragonball z game on a system other than gameboy budokia 2 should have a aventure mode then it would be alsome

listen up people, this was a great game. so it wasnt an exact duplicate of the show, no games are. this game i agree had plenty of room for improvement. they left out so many things. you dont even get to fight with yamcha, tien, chat-zu or anything else during the saijin saga. it would have been nice if you could have use vegeta in all his fight in story mode. he only has like 4 or 5. in the show, he had 14 before the end of the cell saga. i think they should have added where vegeta took out kewi, the nameks, and the fight with android 18. and dont get me started on trunks. he is one of my favorite characters, but he didnt do anything in storymode except a quickshot on frieza, and dying by cells frieza beam. he fought as an ultra ssj against cell and nearly won, i think they should have added that and allow you to use him in the fight with frieza. i like how the game works on the caps, only one prob, the breakthrough doesnt allow anything else. they should have made it to where you can use the dragonballs to wish for it to take less space. i had fun boosting supertrunks 2 to fight at +85%. i like that, but it is rather like an insult that goku's king kai fist x10(should have been kaoken) is stronger the gohons supersaijin 2. and vegeta didnt have any other power ups. not to mention frieza, he increased his power 6 times in the show, but he only has final form and 100%, if you can manage, you can get friezabot. on the show, goku had the ability to power up after going supersaijin, and they left that out. he also went ultra ssj in the time chamber they left out. goku says he has to train for the androids are comming, and even after the time chamber, his +40% to attack never went up. how dare they add hercule, some people thought it a joke, i think its an insult to all dbz gamers. i know this game had a whole lot of serious problems, but even still, overall it was a great game. i spent 19 hours strait playing it because i got hooked. but it lost its fun, and now there is nothing left for me to do on the game, i even got breakthrough for all the saijins. (except trunks) well, i think they should have fixed the power increases to be a little more accurate, i mean zarbons transform is as strong as gohon supersaijin. goku's king kai fist 5 is stronger then vegeta's supersaijin, what a joke. the also left out tiens solarflare from a usable move. i have to give some credit though, they actualy gave and #17 his energy field. anyway, i think this was still a great game, but it had a whole lot of room for improvement. why can goku not use his spirit bomb while he is a supersaijin, and why is big bang stronger than final flash. i gave my output, it still hand good music and gameplay(EXCEPT YOU COULDNT FLY WHEN YOU WANTED TO, YOU HAVE TO BE KNOCKED INTO THE AIR), they added goku training on the way to namek, they should have added the hyperbolic time chamber training for all of them, they should also have had the rest of the ginyu force. the graphics were to die for, the sound was good, and the gameplay rocks. it realy is a good game, just too many corks in it. and for all you whiners that there is no buu saga stuff, so what. the buu saga sucked anyway. it was the worst one yet. i did like a few things about the buu saga, but the rest sucked. anyway, leaving out majin buu and his 20 different forms was an improvement overall. i gave my review. 7/10

Being a DBZ fan I expected more out of the game than it had to offer. Forone the timming between button hitting and the actual move was notthe best. Another was when you change to super sayian, where was the yellowish glow or the lightning, and Gohan being the only one to turn into SS2, what about goku. He also reached that ability in the time chamber. I also expected body bulk to change as well, for instance when Trunks goes SS2 he was all body and no speed in the saga. But all in all being a true fan I was trully satisfied that they finnaly came out with a DBZ game, But Will they move on to DBGT?

I have read alot of bad reviews for thsi game and I must say i was worried. After playing it for 5 hours on Christmas day , this game is amazing. Timing it s big part of the game and the fights, the combos aren't hard but aren't easy either. This game is a slight challenge but one that will kepe you entertained for hours Happy Gaming

I just got it today and already beat it in about 2hours. i figure that even though the game is short and should perhaps be up to the kid buu era but on other notes it's all worth it. i found a few mistakes also but since im a huge dbz fan that doesn't stop me from ever playing it again. all in all the game kicks < remove me > at #$ buy it, rent it, burn it, etc. just try it out for yourself and see why this is perhaps the greatest dbz(wait best game) of the years 2002-2003.

I thought the game was good, but they could of improved on the graphics. I also thought they should of included Bu in this one. They could of made a bit longer. Even though it wasn't that great i would suggest buying it because it is dbz, even if it was the worst game in the world I still would of bought it.Anyone who loves dbz will like this game because its fun getting to play all those charecters, but they should done more for their fans. They waited this long the least they could of done is amde it better, we atleast deserve that much.

I thought it was a pretty good game over all. They could have spruced up on the fighting. They should have put characters from the buu saga in the game. I thought there should have been more characters in it, or at least be able to fuse in it. The story mode was great,not too long not to short. It could have been more challenging in story mode but it was okay. Back to the battleing and fighting. It wasnt violent at all!!! They could have at least had them bleed a little, like when Krillin uses his destructo disc it goes straight through the characters like a ghost. I thought the contols were good through out the game. It took me a while to learn how to custamize the skills but eventualy got it. The voices fit the characters perfectly, I thought the voices would be bad but they werent bad at all. It took me a while to beat advanced mode on world tournament but I beat it finally , I expected to get get a character worthy of being in the game but I got that stupid ladybug the GREAT SAIYAMAN. If they put him in why not Buu or Goten? I thought the graphics were better than any other game Ive played. I hope they make a sequel to this one,hopefully Buu is in it. I finally beat the Legend of Hurcule it took me a while. All I have to say about Hurcule is he sucks. Sense Im a really big DBZ I cant give them anything but a 10. Well sense Im running out of things to say I will say this Funimation sucks,Android 17 is awsome,and Hurcule still sucks.

The 1st time I saw Budokai. I though that it would be like the old skool games which where not all that great. this game is way better than DBZ hyperdemonsion which is only in Jap. The game gives you a different type of battle. where you can turn super saiyan or level up as you play the game is freakin trippy. The graffixz are cartoonish but it works for the game. you gotz to play this game. Best DBZ game out now.

Hey everyone. This game was not that great. I mean sure it was a decent game but being a major DBZ fan myself I noticed some major flaws. Take for example the lack of characters. Where is everybody? No ginyu force, no Nail(my personal favorite Namek), no Frieza forms 2 & 3, no Android 20(what is up with that?!), no Chaoutzu, which made me mad, no Yajirobe, no Kiwi(one of Frieza's top men)! Need I go on? Also there are major innacuracys in the story mode. One being the complete lack of the Garlic Jr. saga which I was hoping to play. Another is that many scenes have been done wrong. They are little things usually but for any hardcore DBZ fan, or at least for me, they are like being shot repeatedly. Yes I did say shot repeatedly, that is how much it annoys me. Also, I know it's a fighting game but where's the interaction? I was hoping for a couple of role playing type elements to be in there as that was the impression I got from many articles I had read before I bought it. Instead it is just a regular fighting game. It would have been nice to have more of a twist. You know something like being able to alter the ending depending on what battles you win and lose so that lets say your playing the Saiyan saga and Goku gets killed then Vegeta becomes the legendary super saiyan or something along those lines. I was also hoping that when I read things about being able to make a "custom" character it meant that I would actually be able to create my own character. This is not the case. You can simply take already existing characters and put other moves on them. Another thing about the story line is that it took me 5 hours to beat it. That is almost the least amount of time it has ever taken me to beat a fighting game. Street fighter ex plus alpha and the gundam battle assault games are the only ones that can top that. The character moves are also very repetitive. The thousands of combos that I read were in the game are actually just the same combos for every character just with a different name. Another thing is that the battlefields your characters fight on kinda suck. There is maybe one interactive thing you can do with each level(get knocked through mountain, etc.). I was hoping for something more like some of the street fighter games for psx where craters are made when you hit the ground and you can get knocked through walls and stuff. The world tournament mode is also ridiculous because the AI that you fight is way cheap. They basically knock you into the air and then knock you out of the ring. Mostly because the ring is so friggin small. For God's sake, the rings we fight in at the martial arts tournaments I go to are that size. Graphics and sound arent to bad though and its refreshing to finally play a game based on an anime where the voice actors from the show are cast to do the acting for the game. All and all though, the downsides outway the good side of the game. Duel is fun for a rainy day though so If your a hardcore fan like me, go ahead and pick it up if you really wanna invest $50 on a game you'll only play on rainy days. If not, don't say I didn't warn you.
P.S. Stay away from Ultimate Battle 22 at all costs!!!

This is a great game for DBZ fans. I read some other reviews and it said "WHERE ARE ALL THE OTHER CHARACTERS?" The game is not over once you beat the simple story line. After that it opens up many other quests and battles that cover the whole saga from Raditz-The Cell Games. Also the combat is awesome and the moves are super cool (some like their own movies if you can pull it off durring the stressfull bashing.) It takes a lot of practice to get good at it, but it deffinetly is worth buying if you like DBZ.. PEACE

Alright. The graphics are good but they could do better. The characters have bad graphics in the movies but they are good when fighting. The voices are good..they are the actual characters voices that is what is good about the game. They should have more combos and special moves for the guys. It sux that they dont have all the characters...but that just leaves room for them in the next one....if they make one. I think that the characters where to easy to beat and the spirt bombs were good. If they make another one they should have all characters and more combos and make the graphics better. When all is done and said the game is not bad..

adding to my previous review, you should also be able to power up as much as you want, and powering should be more dramatic and you shouldn't be vulnerable to attacks during power up like in the cartoon. combos should be more numerous and easier to do. and you should have a better effect on opponents the more you power up. flying should be easier and moving quickly should be easy too. by the way what happened to instant trasmission??? these guys left a lot of stuff out. the main menu format is a little too child-like, i mean not a lot a small kids even watch this show as far as i know. should be more serious. i want SSJ3. and fusion. Vegitto, is the ultimate. i like it but was left wanting more. length and depth and detail is the key here people.

Alright first of all the point of the game is for it to be a fighting game, just like Street Fighter or MK. The fact that it actually includes a story line that somewhat follows the TV is sweet. The graphics are pretty decent and the voices are right on the money with a few exceptions. The game is not the best in terms of moves, cuz most characters have the same, but the very special ones are fun especially if you know the show. Another sweet aspect was the fact that you could pretty much change a lot of the characters features, like what special moves they used and what not after you got them. The replay value of this game is awesome, i've owned it since it came out and i still don't have everything in the game. I enjoy pretty much every aspect of this game except for maybe one or two fights in the story mode because they seemed pretty tough, and i thought Goku should have been the best but i'm just not finding it that way but oh well, hes not my fav anyway. I definitely hope there will be another DBZ game, and i think for a fighting game it does quite well.
