I rember when i first seen a preview of dbz budokai in a mag, i got so exsited i had to change my boxers. but then i realized that it wasent gunna come out for anouther year So i got depressed, so i waited entill the day it came out. When i put it in my ps2 i was so happy and the first impreshion was a good one. Being a DBZ FREAK !! i played it about 3 times straight through, i couldent put it down. The thing i loved most about the game is that i could make frieza win the story mode that made me a happy chappy. (im a MAJOR FRIEZA FAN) LONG LIVE LORD FRIEZA !! and cells dream was very cool. There were a few things i dont like about the game, like what happend to the rest of the ginu force, why cant frieza become all his forms like cell can, and why do they have buu on the back cover when you cant get him ? if you rember the raditts saga there is a little stage were goku has to stay in piccolos line of site, why dident they do more things like that ? i think it would have made the game alot more enjoyable. Over all me and my friends all have a good time when we play it. And if they brought out a second one id buy it the day it comes out. oh yeah if you think your good at the game you havent play me, with the lord him self FRIEZA.

I played Budokai and beat it in one day. It lacks a good storyline. The only other flaw is the sound. Otherwise this is a really fun game. The World Tourament is cool and the graphics are top notch, but the total lack of gamplay really brings this game down. Its made by Funnamation witch really ruined the game. They mess with a good show then call it there own. Vegetas Big bang Attack, not his Big Bash Attack funamation! This is a game that I would recomend to a DBZ fan that would just play it to womp up on some of there favorite characters or some of there worst hated villans. I expecally played it to show Goku who the real sayain prince was :D. Well theres some unlockables that are cool as well, expecaly Krillin-Cell (you'll have to see for yourself kiddies). You can play with a lot of different characters but without a Buu saga whats the point? This game, on the upside to its short story, puts in a Tourament mode witch lets you have hours of fun after you beat the game. You can win cash and buy skills and stuff from Mr. Popo (He kinnda sounds like a drug dealer! Hey kids let me sell you some capsules!). All in all its an ok game that lets you have some fun with the Dbz gang. Now go and put the hurtin' on some of your freinds.

SCREW all the people that say this game is crap. This game is the best game ever! Beating other people with out of this world powers and energies that can destroy a planet is just the greatest thing. And wat's with all the people that say that this game really easy? The game is actually hard. If you think that this game is easy, try playing the very last chapter where SS2 Gohan has to beat Cell. After beating that without losing at lest 2 times then you can sat that this game is easy. Also I hate the people that say that this game's moves are messed up. The graphics and the effects of the moves are great.
However, there are some things I would like to see in the game. Things like being able to fly on your own. I mean the characters being able to fly is one of the coolest parts of the fighs. Also I think that when you get hammered by one of those level-destroying moves like burning attack and Big Bang attack, your character's clothes should really get all cool and ripped with blood and bruises everywhere like the chapter where Goku is fighting Frieza. That would be great. But even with those little exceptions, you can't say this game is bad. It's da best fighting game ever and I hate anybody who doesn't think so!!!

Finally!!!A cool game i could never get tired of.This game is the best game I`ve played so far because I think number 3 is coming out and It`s probably going to be Gt with a lot of cool characters that Budaki 2 doesn`t have.I hate that the fact that at the end of every battle the player that wins isn`t all beat up with his cloths torn or dirt on him with blood.Also I don`t like the dragon world because it sucks.It should be like Budakai 1 because their dragon world is like a show.In the game I have unlocked everything, to tell you the truth I think I will never get tired of this game I love it.I will keep on playing it over and over again until Budakai 3 comes out,until then I will be waiting for it and it should be awsome.My favorite characters to fight with is almost all of them except the androids because they suck.I like android 18 she`s cool.I hate Recome because he`s dumb with his stupid saying ''you do well you do well".I just love teen Gohans Father-Son Kamehameha it`s awsome.My most favorite character is Gotenks I like him because he has 2 of my favorite characters fused Trunks and Goten and I like that the fact that Gotenks and Goku can go Super Saiyan 3.Gohan is cool because he can unlock Elder Kai`s

this is one of the best games out there.da grafix are tight and the voices make it like your watching da show.budokai2 is tighter,the many charecters,da grafix,etc.that sux gohan can only go SS2.da characters are cool but they should have put cooler,broly,android#19,and kid gohan.its dumb dat after so many years goku,vegeta,don't get old.it would have been better to have a super secret charecter like gokus dad or king kai.the gameplay is cool,but should stretch a little farther then da buu saga.whats cool about both budokai games is dat there unique no other fighting game has this much originality.one of the things that was cooler budokai1 was the skill shop,you chose a support capsule,you got a support capsule.in budokai2 1,500 for great saiyaman justice punch.and da TOURNAMENTS SHOULDNT be a knock out of da ring automatic win.when you turn super saiyan or another transformation,your ki gauge should go up another level.another thing dat woulda been better was if they had that krillen cell like in krillens dream in dragonball z budokai1.if you could be majin buu,super buu,kid buu,saibamen,or junior cell and be like in budokai1 where you just beat someone and you unlock em that would be really TIGHT!!!!

this game was pretty cool because you had a wide selection of characters and there is a lot to do. the story mode is pretty easy so i'm looking forward to the second one because there is no story mode in that one. this game takes you all the way to the cell saga, if you're looking for a good action game you might like this one but you might not. it has cool stuff like a tournament. i don't like how hard it is to get the dragonballs and i don't like the graphics which is another reason i look forward to the second one that's coming out in December of 2003. here's a little cheat to get all breakthroughs, this is how it goes, you get three memory cards, one with all the dragonballs, copy it to another memory card, and whatever memory card you choose to get all breakthroughs on, use the dragon, now for the third memory card trade the dragonballs that you did not use, then copy to the memory card that you are using. repeating this over and over again, in about thirty minutes, u should have all breakthroughs but u don't want to be a little cheater so do it the real way unlike my friend tim over here. it was his idea to write that. cheater. oh well, this game is awesome and we liked it. ps. i am not gay.

I truly loved this game. Original voices (except cell at times) and origanal bacgrounds, origanal art also. But the probles were:
1. Too short, i beat it in one day and feel like i dont want to do anything with it anymore.
2. Too easy, I have (on highest diff) been able to completely dodge enemy attacks and get perfect scores without even toughing the X button. I can almost move faster than the system can load what i did.
3. What happened to the origanal fighting? THATS WHAT US DBZ FANS REALLY TRULY WANTED!!! Like the extremely fast paced movement and the occasional through a ball of energy (KI blast is all we have and wouldnt it be nice if you could sit there and charge it up into a big orb) Maybe the dodges could be more smooth.
Anyways, if you ask me this could have been an insult to DBZ. I mean really, it did resemble it in story mode, but in the actual tv show it was much better.
P.S.
***What we need is a DBZ role playing game (rpg). You pick a character and move freely about in a 3d world. Gain levels as you fight and learn new techniques. Perhaps you could create your own character and make it a certain race (saiyan, android etc). This is something i could get into.

I can't believe that Goku can't transform into ss2. The transformation is to quick.When you transform they should show the rocks lifting of the ground and slowly turn to ss2.Vegeta is a fantastic player. DBZ cannot remove the 3d background which is fantastic.Some of the background was rubbish expecially the world class tournament. Buu and baby trunks and goten should be on budokai 1. Story mode is too short.You can't buy any uniforms in custom and you can't use trunks sword as a move.Dodoria is rubbish.The titles and dislay of writing is terrible.
tHE KAMEHAMEA IS NOT AFFECTED TO ANY PLAYER. YOU CAN FLY AT FREE WILL. bY THE WAY HOW DO YOU GET GOKU ON SS4. I've heard this cheat many times. Someone contact me and tell me.
The android saga is boring. Goku is so boring without ss2.
The duel battle should be much more exciting . When some beats you down and your on yellow life bar they should show your clothes ripped and dirt on your body. The players always are in good condition.I love freizas spaceship. It is wonderful she is the strongest player. Goku should have 3 selections like gohan. whwn he was small and ss3.
You can't fly at free will.i LOVE GOHAN SS2 HE'S MOVE SUPER KAMEHAMEHA.

I think on B 2 they should have Vegito ss4 goku and gogeta kid trunks etc. They should have the whole ginyu force this time. Cloth's should rip, and when you are powering up/transforming, stuff shold break, rocks would go in the air, and the enemy would get pushed back. You should be able to fly all by your self. And the power aura should stay around you when you power up, and when you fly for cover. something like that. You should be able to push things, and use them as cover. And when you are powering up if the character is really strong, Blast will not hurt you, because of the powetr aura. And another thing, when an enemy is firing multiple shots at you, it should have an advance dodging system, where you can dodge stuff like on tv. when you are running, and the enemy isshooting at you, you should be able to either dodge, or hit the energy blast away from you, or send it right back at the enemy. And when you are doing a spexial attack like the galick gun, and somebody else does an attack, it should be like on tv and you have to press something repeatly/really fast, and that person would win the power struggle, because that person pushed ..... button the fastest with the time limit.

This game is the best Dragon Ball Z game ever! The graphics are great! It looked exactly how a game based on a cartoon should look. The fighting engine is good but it could have been a bit faster and have had more trademark attacks and moves for each character. But my biggest gripe was the fact that they left out various possible fights and characters. Trunks one of the best characters in the game had no chapters for him in the story mode. What about the battle he had with cell and the battle he had with Frieza when he first came back from the future? What about Piccolo versus Frieza? There also could have been more of those mini games after battles. There were many possibilities that were overlooked, like when Goku had to summon up enough power to form a spirit bomb big enough to defeat Frieza while Piccolo stalled Frieza for more time. All these ideas would have made the game longer and better. But the game does deliver and every Dragon Ball Z fan will love the graphics and cut scenes along with the voice actors and special moves that light up the whole screen and turn the stage into a huge crater. Definitely buy this game if you’re a fan of Dragon Ball Z and anime.

DragonballZ Budokai is a top class game! One of my favourites most definitly. Very anxious to play number two cus of the new sagas and new characters! I think however that the length of gameplay can be much improved, eg 3 sagas isn't enough for my liking if you know what I mean. Also one of the most things that annoyed me was da fact that Goku could only go ssj...GOD!!!! That really took down the rating. I'm not sure whether the cheats i'm hearing are real.I was also a little disapointed with the wishes,at first they were unbelievable but they just get boring after a while. I'm sure I can think of tonnes of updates and new surprises Overall, good graphics,sounds and moves. I love the fact that you can have skills in capsules(thats very original for this game) I don't think it copies any games, except Dbz FB of course. Number 2 better have higher saiyan levels and fused characters,like super saiyan 3,4,Oozrau maybe! Gotta have vegetto! I really that second games is released really soon!I haven't even thought about attempting the goku ss4 cheat! I think i'll just wait till i play budokai2 This is definitly a game for dbz and ps2 fans espicially. Impressive stuff.

This game has a misleading poster failed with false information about the charecters like itv reads:" #19 beated up Goku, tien,Yamacha,Gohan, and Goham, But vegeta turned Super saiyian and destreyed him." and for Frezza it siad that frezza dstroyed the sayian planet to get rid of compinititon. Frist of, #19 beated only Goku and Yamcha ONLY. Frezza got rid off the planent because he fered that a Super sayian would raise and kill Freiaza.
Now that I ranted about the poster on to the game. In Tournment Mode, when you get to the adept and other higher levels You can eaisly get thrown out of the ring, without even pressing a button or striking back. Which afected it's chances of getting a nine. In stroy mode,when you start out you only have two moves, but when you advanced to the Namek and Cell sagas, you gianed more attacks. The bad thing about stoy mode is that for only most of the fights, Your only using Picollo, vegeta,Goku, or Gohan. Also you shuld be alble to use any chareecters that was at the batle site. For example when fighting fdreaza you should also chose picolo, Gohan or Krillion instead of just with goku. also most of the combos are hard to do.

that game is the best dbz game i have ever played although i wish it had some more of the original characters in it like zarbon/dodoria etc and also some from the movies im sure you all know brolli cooler super android 13?i mean cmon those were some of the best bad guys in the series even though they werent in the cartoons they were phat as hell.and they took away your ability to play in all the forms of cell and freiza which i thought was a real bummer however i love the way they improved the moves and the graphics way to go there its about time somebody did a dragonball z game right the specials were exallent i hope to see a dragonball budokai 3 sumtime soon i have to say the moves were great but somewhat repetitive but like i said it was an awesome game and me and about 3 million other fans cant wait for the next one.do u know if there even is gonna be yet another sequel to the video game series?if there is i hope they put some of the characters like brolli or cooler in there those r the people i really would like to see in the game and i think almost everyone else would too.but having said that great job on the games so far keep it up!

This is gonna be kind of long so read it if u got da time.This game is really easy.I baet it in 1 day.A couple of things dat make me mad are cells wack voice. It stays da same,even in perfect form.Except when he uses Spirit Bomb.The story mode is crazy. They skip a couple of parts though.I really hate not flying on my own. U have 2 get hit in the air 2 get up there.I think beating the tournament mode in advanced is the hardest thing 2 do in the game.The super saiyans are good but they all have the same power limits.SS2 is great plus the Super Kamehameha.The bad thing is that u can only trnsform SS2 with gohan.All the special attacks are great. But the strongest is Goku's Spirit Bomb.In story u will have a little bit of trouble defeating cell with gohan after fighting cell with Goku.I love playing as Trunks.Transforming into Super Trunks2 is crazy. The bad thing is no one else can turn super except 4 Vegeta.Doing the movea are simple.When I first started out I couldn't do anything at all. They should have more characters like MajinBuu.They should also have the MajinBuu saga.This is enough for me,if u need help with the game email me.~1~

,but I don't have DragonballZ budokai 2.Two Qs Q1:Is there a different way to get SS4 Goku?Q2:Why does this review half to 200 words,or more?Here is my ASL A:11 S:Male L:Nescopeck just so you know.I liked DragonballZ since I was 5 years old.Since then I learned what channel DragonballZ was on(Cartoonnetwork) and I always watched it I never missed it.Ok,back to the game my favorite people were Vegeta,Tenn Gohan,Great Saiyaman,and Trunks and my favorite moves were Final Flash,Special Beam Cannon,and Burning Attack.Right now I only have 3 DragonBalls The ONE STAR,TWO STAR,and FOUR STAR BALL.It's pretty hard to get all 7 DRAGONBALLS.Oh here's something funny get a controller with turbo and put the turbo on X and push O in Practice Mode and have your opponent on Deflect-Back and the shot will keep going back and forth.HAHAHA!I might as well end it there,ok? Well,gotta run.Thanks for reading.

Dragonball z budokai is one of the best playing games there are,they have tight graphics and nice sound. The reason I like this game so much is because there are several characters and there are many moves. Some of the best characters I think are Cell and Frieza, try to upgrade there armor and moves by buying capsules. The best capsules for them are Frieza 100% form and cells perfect form (power weighted). Those capsules are very helpfull when fighting in the tournament, expecially advanced. Frieza and Cells best moves are spirit bomb for cell and death ball for frieza. You can get most of the characters in the campaign except for 2, Hercule and GT. Saiyaman. you get those to at the adept tournament and the advanced tournament. Custom is very helpfull when fighting tough enemys, a great defence for the androids is the android barrier, it shields you from all ki blasts and it never wears off. The only thing they could have improved is that there campaign was very short.Another thing gt. saiyaman really sucks. he has all crappy moves and doesnt have any ki waves. last but not least I cant wait to check dbz budokai 2 out.

First of all i'd like to say that the graphics of this game were awesome. The characters voices, such as Vegeta's were superb. It was kinda short but i was playing it nonstop. That just goes to show how much i like it. The story went along with the series, what more could i want! It was especially fun to fight your favorite villain and play your favorite character with the graphics so well. All in all i'd have to say that the game was worth the money. I know some people wouldn't give the game a perfect score, and maybe they have a pretty good reason for it, but i was kinda glad it wasn't as violent as the series. That makes for a wider amount of kids or adults having more wholesome fun with a game without laughing at the fact that someones bleeding to death because of a punch. I thought the backgrounds were awesome too. I have never been able to see a dragonball z game use their background well. I think this game does the trick on that. The sound and music also adds to the suspense in the story too. These are my reasons why this is the best dbz game out their so far and why i give this game a 10.

Dragon Ball Z is good well really good but not great i mean i liked the graphics. they were awesome but my version none of them speaked english they all sounded the same as the japanese shows. i mean could they atleast translate it PLEASE. and sure youve got block but in dragon ball z ultimaye battle you could dodge anything by flying.In dragon ball z budokai you cant duck or even jump.The story was good(while it lasted) but where was buu. On our case it showed spopovitch debora and even buu but there was none of them in the game.Out here(in Australia) they haven't even shown GT yet.i Hope in dbz budokai 2 they put buu in(and maybe even GT) also i would have liked to make your own characters like make goku's third cousin 3 tims removed or something. and instead of just going from the sotry line add a bit more. ALso Goku's super saiyan takes 5 gauges to transform when goharns ssj2 only takes 4 or something also they left out tons of characters such as jeice berter guildo #20 chou sou. They didn't even take into account the movies. I really hope dbz bodokai 2 will be much better. oh and i plan on buying it.

i think dbz budokai is the most awesome game ever.but there are a feww things that should be fixed.like you should be able to controll your flight abilities. and why is the kamehameha yellow it should be blue it doesnt make sense.also why cant you be buu or anyone like that its whack.but its pretty cool; how good the graphics are plus all the capsules you can get. there moves are probably the best part . my favorites are big bang attack,warp kamehameha, and burning attack.my faorite characters are trunks2, super vageta, ss2 gohan , and frieza.now budokai2 is a whole differant story.its just plain tight.irented it and i dont like how its a board game.but fighting buu and everything is aweaome.i didnt beat kid buu before i rented it though. gotenks is awesome especially his Super Goast Kamakazi Attack.also vegeto is tight and all his moves are awesome.super vegeto is even cooler.i like how you can choose a partner or sometimes two.i heard theyre making a dbgt budokai also.well heree i am just blabbing away your probably getting bored and im probably wasting you time so i gotta go, seeya
