This game was so cool exept that it was way to short i mean i beat the story mode at least 6 times in like 2 weeks but the best part is forming super sayian with vegeta(of corse who dosnt's like vegeta i mean hes the coolest), goku, trunks and gohan those are my favorit but the graphics are cool to and why dont they include about at least 8 more characters in the first one i mean buu is on the cover why can you use him!!!! But overall i think its a pretty cool game.

anyone who says that this game sucks, doesn't know anything about gaming! the gameplay, the story mode all of it is so well made! personally my favourit is teen gohan whit his super kamehameha, all my friends who sees the game wants it very bad! vegeta and trunks ar also cool! about the tournament, you just have to dodge away from the edge if you are to close! i have one question only, there is only one capsule left for me to find, but i can't find it anywhere! it supposed to be the history mode but i don't no exactly! like i still have over 200 000 zenies and there is nothing more to unlock except for that one capsule i can't find, it's a grey one! to bad that budokai 2 will have a more drawn character graphic like, the background is normal! only the characters are more drawn like! for the rest looks budokai2 even better then the one! i'm counting the days untill it comes out! budokai RULES!!!!!

Dragonball Z Budokai is probably the best DBZ game there is. It has kept really loyal to the T.V show and unlike some games based on shows or films, it hasn't been just a little like the film/show, it has almost everything in it. The reason that this game kicks arse, is the fighting part itself. The moves are easy to grasp and once you have grasped them with one character, the others have the same moves, so you dont just get good with a certain person, like on most games, but you can now play with everyone. The gameplay is also really simple, and unless you a comlpete morron and have never heard of DBZ you'll easily understand how to play. What else I liked is that there aren't any real cheats so you have to play it and get good at it instead of just winning in one move or something. Some bad things about this though, bring the game down quite a bit. The worst of all for me is the voice. Most people like it and if you've seen the Japanese versions or something you'll be glad to hear that they've kept the Japanese voices, but if you're like me and have only seen DBZ, you'll be a bit dissapointed because the voices are all high-pitched and sound incredably stupid, for example completing the game the first time, you have the cut scene, where Gohan and Cell each do a kamehaemeha on eachother and Goku talks through King Kai. This was one of my favourtie episodes on DBZ, but on the game I couldn't take it seriously because Goku's voice was childlike. Another thing with the way they speak is the subtitles. They are hardly ever proper Engilsh and don't normally say what they say on the T.V show. The only other bad thing about the game is that it's too short. They should have definately included Majin Buu. He is obviously the best character ever, he is soo babyish and fat, yet everyone is scared of him. Also it would make the character list a lot longer because there are 8 different versions of him and if you have the buu saga, you get Gotenks and Vigito (my other favourite character). Two good things about it apart from how super fun it is and the easy to grasp moves, are the graphics, that are awesome and realistic and the sound that unlike some games, matches the emotions of the characters. Also although the story line is short, there is so much to do because if you're a perfectionist like me and ant every capsual for everybody, that involves getting the dragonnballs 23 times. After playing as mmuch as I have, I have decided that the good points totally outway the bad and the gameplay, moves, laoalty to the stryline and so much more make this game the best in the DBZ series. I can't w8 4 numba 2 tho, as ive heard that there will e dragonmode as well but if they delete storymode 2 put it in it will be rubbish. However with 11 new characters u can be sure it will b on my christmas list

when i heard it was released in stores i was so excited but when i got it, it was just a total let down a mokery of DBZ also they could have put the voices in english and with the orriginal voices i have high expectations for the next one please dont let it be another letdown.

I love some of the things in this part of it is the custimization the other part is the real voices thats pretty tight...some things i dont like is that there isnt enough moves and it has alot of button cancilations so u get cheap deaths and less reversals or counter attacks i mean come on why is it that if goku is using kamaehamaeha i cant punch him or hit im some way with out using ki blast...another thing is that why does the screen turn black during the time when they are calling theyre attack why cant i try to hurry and sommon one of my own large attacks and match theyres so that it makes like a big explosion or something... i think u get robbed out of victories just a little to much its a little frustarting at times....>:{.......................the graphics were like good ps1 graphics instead of kick ass ps2 graphics...and finally WHY ISNT THERE A BATTLE ROYAL!!!!!!!!!!!i swear if they dont put in the next one im going to go straight up postal on them ya hear me?!?!

I like Budokai much more than other dragonball games, beacuse the charakter will go ssj etc in the battle!. But i hope that dragonballz budokai2 is better. I have seen some screen looks and itīs look fun. I hope that goku can go ssj, ssj2 and ssj3 and buu can transfor into gotenks buu and ultimate buu. I heard that you will be able to fuse your characterīs (Gotenks and Veggito and maby Gogita).
How ever, this is the ultimate dragonball game ever!!!

I'd give this game a 9, because on the game, we cannot fly on our own. Like, in order to fly we haft to be knocked into the sky by the opponnent. I hope its not like that in budokai2. In story mode I thought that we get to choose a story with one of the Z fighters. Another thing that bothers me is the stages. Why can't we fight in ground, mountains and stuff like that in the TV show. On the Namek level, how come we can't knock people into twisters that's in the background, after we blow it up with spirit bomb, burning attack, super kamehameha, and etc. Otherwise, this game is off the chain. The story is kinda short in a way, and some scenes in the is not what they said at all. Such as: When Goku was fighting Frieza, and he turned into a ssj, he shouted that he was a super saiyan, when he did not know what he was in the TV show. Budokai is the best fighting game that I ever played. I just hope budokai2 is the next game that will make my jaw drop.

This is the best game I ever played 'cause its got all the original voices and story modes I think it maybe as good as DragonBallZ Ultimate Battle 22 it may not have ascended saiyan Goku and Super Saiyan 3 Goku but it still is the best Dragon Ball Z game ever!

A very good game though some bad parts like in the game they forgot about the garlic junior saga then every word and event is wrong like goku when he turned into a super saiyan in the frieza saga he had a shirt on in the game he did'nt also the game sould have alot more characters an when you get hurt by a blast lose some colthes and when you are on a red bar you should be breathing hard and i hate it when you do a super attack like the spirt bomb it blowes up every thing why can't it be a crater also they fogot about the buu saga and why can't goku go into a super saiyan 2 and 3 that sould be a supprise capsule but over all it's a really good game buy it it's fun also i got news that dbz budokai 2 has chbi trunks,goten,all three buus,teenager Gohon,gotenks,vagito majin vagita and all 23 characters also in the memory card you can input dbz budokai in dbz budokai 2 memory and on dbz budokai you get new moves if you input but can't save on dbz budokai.This game rocks.

I think there should have been more charaters like garlic Jr. the rest of the ginu force. In the practice mode it should have been able to have two players. Last the dragonballs should be easer to get. Overall I think it was a really good game. I cant wait till the second one comes out.

ok when u fight i don't like how its like tekken fighting, like u know going back and forth and can only go so far away from your opponent before it stops you, i think that theyneed to make the second one to where you can move about the level selected anywhere that you want, and to be able to blow up mountains with your kai blasts, i also think that when you use your attack that it doesn't blow the earth up and stuff like it does on budokai, i think that when you use them that they should put craters in the ground from where u have shot the blast, more charcters need to be put o there, such as the new super sayion levels, Broly would be a surprise to see, and Vegeta ssj4. Graphics-tha graphics are really good cos they actually luk like tha characters from da cartoon,but they could have improved tha facial animation a bit.
Sound-tha sound from da game lets it down as its all in japanese,but tha japanese voice acting was authentic.
Gameplay-I really enjoyed tha gameplay,it is one of da best DBZ games in a long time,but its rather limited to just fighting,there shud be a mini game of sum sort.
Lifespan-the actual modes like tha story mode is rather short,but there is hours of replay value from da skill shop and finding tha dragonballs.
Fun Factor-fans of DBZ wud love this game as it perfectly replicates tha cartoon series,more hardcore gamers,wud find this game gud but lacking in depth.
Overall-Get this game as a rent,if u like it than buy it,if u don't than get a more suitable fighting game such as Tekken 4.

the game was of the hizu. super saiyan 3 goku should of been in and teen gohan should have been the strongest beacause the episode was called a warrior beyond goku and in the game if u go 2 practice goku's full power is 140 and teen gohan is 130 that makes no sense majin buu should have in it. and they should have more details in the game anyway the game is great

this game is the best but it is a bit too short all the episodes for dragonball z should be in it.i hope budokai 2 would be more challenging and more characters and more transform stages in it also budokai 2 i hope have some dragonball gt enimies in it like super 17 i am a big biggest fan of DBZ i watch all dragonball Z and dragonball GT episodes i just need to watch dragonball well still this game is great i just hope budokai 2 would have some ideas that i wrote down.

DBZ Budokai for PS2 was a very good game even though it wasnt very challenging because I beat it in less than 5 hours. Lets start with the complants I have for the game It needed alot more fighters it should have had the whole ginyu force and all of friezas tranceformations it also should have went into the buu saga. What I really liked about the game was that when you did attacks like spirit bomb it blowes up every thing around you. thats about all I have to say about the game. I am a very big dbz fan and I hpr the next game is alot better

I absolutely love this game! It never gets old! Espesially when you unlock Hercule, the moves he does makes me cry with laughter!! It was really hard to unlock the Great Saiyaman and I really hope they make a second one! I was only dissapointed because my favorite character Majin Buu (Fat Buu) was not in the game. If, in the next one they add Majin Buu, then it truely will be my favorite fighting game! This game is awsome, truely awsome!

I love this game! I like the way, when you do a special attack, it's all fancy. Take Trunks' Burning Attack, it's just so great! The graphics were wonderful. Cell's dream really confused me a bit, but then I understood it later. They could've made it more interesting to get the DragonBalls. Also made the game, a bit more interactive, instead of just fighting. One more thing that makes no sense that I can think of, why is the Great Saiyaman in there? All in all it's a good game. hope the second one's better.

here is some ideas for part 2 make it where u have to train to get to supersayian 1,2etc.. levels need to be more interactive of course put majinboo in there all forms actually put all of the charecters from every episode in it put a storyline it thats is not so fast make it where it would take like a month-2months to beat and add more moves other then that it's an exallent game if u think it's bad or good ideas e-mail me.

Well in Budokai the characters are pretty unupdated, i think that they should have put the higher super sayion levels in, like vegeta SS3. Cause hes the best. the gameplay is great don't get me wrong, but i hate the tournament because it takes forever to win and yamcha is so cheap in there. But i have found a code for the tournament so u can win if any of u need any of help, before u enter the tournament u need to put a heart virus and a vaccine on your character. The when u start the battle your opponents health starts to go down that way u can beat him easier.
