I would give it a 8 out of 10. It is a awesome game i love playing the story but they should of added the Buu saga also that we could play with Cooler they graphics are awesome. This is also the best DBZ game better than Dragonball z Ultimate Battle 22 which it doesn't have a story line.

The voices on here are like the real ones from the show. They sound like it came off the show but the bad part about it is they don't move there mouth right for the words. When they are talking sometimes there mouth is closed and there talking but besides that the VOICES SOUND JUST LIKE THE SAME OFF THE SHOW!!!!

O.K. cool game. Its DBZ, + all those fighting moves, going to SSJ, being tons of cool characters, all around good game. It needs a little bit better graphics though. Also its short, took me only seven hours to get everthing. Its still one of the best anyway, beside the little short-graphic flaw. In conclusion its the best Ps2 game I own.

This game is amazing and I agree with a lot of you when you say they should have more characters.The second reason it's not all that great is because you can only put up to seven slots in the skills menu and I say that's not enough.The final reason is that I beat this game in 1 week and sure was it easy and there is not thing left to do except win tournements and after awile that gets boring.

To begin with I am not a fan of Dragon Ball Z so this might seem like im "hating" on it but im trying to be fair. When i first played this i thought it was pretty cool, never before could you play these characters with it looking good. But after playing it for a little i felt very limited. There are only three buttons to fight with and that limits your combos very much. There is only so much you can do with one kick button one punch button and a power button. And all of the characters have almost the same exact moves. That gets very tiring after playing with one character and going to another when there is no difference between them. You might as well pick one character and stick with him/her. So i recommend to rent this game and not buy it, unless of course you are a Dragon Ball Z fan then this is probably like a stick of gold to you. -Matt The Afghan

i luved this game had cool characters and the value of the game was great except for the long loading between fights made me play it less and less untill i stoped playing all together. i also0 hear there is going to be a dbz budokai 2(which im looking forward too)this game is worth buying but only if ur a fan.

I have to admit. I bought this game on the release date. I'm a DBZ fanatic. The graphics capture the bright , colorful world perfectly. Also the carachters are great. All my favorites (Except buu) are all in there. Also the replay value is great. Sure the story mode can be beaten in about an hour , the 250 capsules in the game adds depth. Also unlocking ss4 goku is a very difficult task even for me ( Who gets a perfect against very strong level people. So in a nutshell , dbz budokai is the greatest game for bz , and possibly ever.

i think its awsome because u buy moves find dragonballs have items like a senzu bean but i think it needs the buu saga and have dragonball gt in it and its should let u turn into the giant monkey oozauro and u should be able to fuse also but i still think this game is the best ever. my 5 favorite characters are goku,gohan,vegeta,cell,trunks.

this game is great but it was realy easy the day i got it i beat it in like 2 hours and i have gotten all the skillz the duel mode is my fav but they should have its when you play as a sayian you get better every rematch and in the story mode you dont play as trunks well i play it every day so it dont matter i hear that the 2nd one is coming in ... Sh!t i forgot but its like a 100$ oh ya i hate saying bad stuff about this but theres one thing i dont like about thr game you could beat anybody with anybody like if you were cell and you fight krillin you could lose thats like the dumb

This game is the best Dragon Ball Z game ever! The graphics are great! It looked exactly how a game based on a cartoon should look. The fighting engine is good but it could have been a bit faster and have had more trademark attacks and moves for each character. But my biggest gripe was the fact that they left out various possible fights and characters. Trunks one of the best characters in the game had no chapters for him in the story mode. What about the battle he had with cell and the battle he had with Frieza when he first came back from the future? What about Piccolo versus Frieza? There also could have been more of those mini games after battles. There were many possibilities that were overlooked, like when Goku had to summon up enough power to form a spirit bomb big enough to defeat Frieza while Piccolo stalled Frieza for more time. All these ideas would have made the game longer and better. But the game does deliver and every Dragon Ball Z fan will love the graphics and cut scenes along with the voice actors and special moves that light up the whole screen and turn the stage into a huge crater. Definitely buy this game if you’re a fan of Dragon Ball Z and anime.

i think budokai is the best game ever for dbz cool characters sweat moves (my favorite is burning attack for trunks) in budokai2 there adding buu saga and fusion techneck and there will be dragon mode where u pick four charaters and find the dragon balls before the villion dudes do it has what if fusion (like if yamcha and tien fusioned) super saiyan 2 and 3 for goku also u can upload the stats u have on budokai and put them on budOKAI2 BUT U WILL LOSE EVERYTHING ON BUDOKAI1 so go and the came (budokai2 is coming out in december)

this game sucks but the monkey is cool.i beat the tournament with him,its easy.To get it u need 2 sets of dragonballs plus moonlight capsule on radditz or nappa,then press select and x at the same time. u will see nappa or radditz turn into the monkey. oh yeah u need to beat the tournament twice in novice, adept, and advance with all the characters.

DragonballZ Budokai is a top class game! One of my favourites most definitly. Very anxious to play number two cus of the new sagas and new characters! I think however that the length of gameplay can be much improved, eg 3 sagas isn't enough for my liking if you know what I mean. Also one of the most things that annoyed me was da fact that Goku could only go ssj...GOD!!!! That really took down the rating. I'm not sure whether the cheats i'm hearing are real.I was also a little disapointed with the wishes,at first they were unbelievable but they just get boring after a while. I'm sure I can think of tonnes of updates and new surprises Overall, good graphics,sounds and moves. I love the fact that you can have skills in capsules(thats very original for this game) I don't think it copies any games, except Dbz FB of course. Number 2 better have higher saiyan levels and fused characters,like super saiyan 3,4,Oozrau maybe! Gotta have vegetto! I really that second games is released really soon!I haven't even thought about attempting the goku ss4 cheat! I think i'll just wait till i play budokai2 This is definitly a game for dbz and ps2 fans espicially. Impressive stuff.

I think the game could be a little better.i have seen people say you can be super saiyan 4 goku.i have notdone it yet but i am going to try.i think they should have made the game where there are cheats.like in the tournament when you fall out the ring it isn't a ring out.(if anyone knows a cheat code for that tell me!)i would not lose a match in tournament then.hehe.anyway i do understand why they stopped at cell.so then they could make a sequel and correct mistakes.they should have made garlic junior saga though.the sequel is going to be great!i hope they start right after cell in heaven with goku.also i hope that you can have one of them mini things doing the fusion technique.(like holding raditz down in the center so picilo can hit him.that would be cool.i do think they should have super saiyan 4 goku and vegeta as secret characters in budokai 2.and maybe even gogeta ss4.i think that in bdokai 2 uub's probaly in it and pan maybe.please have cheatcodes.and i hope brol and super android 13 should be hidden characters.i think a good side story like cells dream would be where you are kid buu and if you watch the episodes dende wished goku's strength back.they could make it where the dragon got impatient and then went away and kid buu would have killed goku and vegeta.i cant wait till budokai 2 comes out.

This game is so fun I love it I like it so much I dont like some of the graphics and it only goes up to cell saga well its pretty fun I like fighting against my friends I like Blasting People with my Energy blasts and continous kamahamaha wave I rate this game 9 out of 10 This game is so fun I LOVE IT buy it now!

Well in Budokai the characters are pretty unupdated, i think that they should have put the higher super sayion levels in, like vegeta SS3. Cause hes the best. the gameplay is great don't get me wrong, but i hate the tournament because it takes forever to win and yamcha is so cheap in there. But i have found a code for the tournament so u can win if any of u need any of help, before u enter the tournament u need to put a heart virus and a vaccine on your character. The when u start the battle your opponents health starts to go down that way u can beat him easier.

I love this game! I like the way, when you do a special attack, it's all fancy. Take Trunks' Burning Attack, it's just so great! The graphics were wonderful. Cell's dream really confused me a bit, but then I understood it later. They could've made it more interesting to get the DragonBalls. Also made the game, a bit more interactive, instead of just fighting. One more thing that makes no sense that I can think of, why is the Great Saiyaman in there? All in all it's a good game. hope the second one's better.

I like Budokai much more than other dragonball games, beacuse the charakter will go ssj etc in the battle!. But i hope that dragonballz budokai2 is better. I have seen some screen looks and it´s look fun. I hope that goku can go ssj, ssj2 and ssj3 and buu can transfor into gotenks buu and ultimate buu. I heard that you will be able to fuse your character´s (Gotenks and Veggito and maby Gogita).
How ever, this is the ultimate dragonball game ever!!!

This game is well cool the graphics are well cool and the charcters a goku,gohan,vageta,trunks,raditz,nappa,piccolo,yamcha,tien,krilen,frieza,recoome,ginyu,zarbon,dadoria,cell,19,18,17,16,hercule and the greatsaiyaman(gohan) this game is very easy to complete and not to many hidden elements but its still good because it has an actual story modes so people who like dragonballz and have not got this game i suggest you buy it and just play along the story mode because there are no cheats for this game BUT FOLKS ITS CLASS!!!

everyone is saying that this game is good, i agree but it is only fun to a certain extent for it starts to get annoying, for all the people who have played it i know you know what i'm talking about.There needs to be individual moves and combos to unleash, pretty much everyone has the same moves and combos com on whats up with that.I also think that the power ups are kinda pathetic and the transformations, like when turning into super saiya-jin they just go AHH and they've transformed. Com on turnng super saiya-jin mode is meant to be kool not a 2 second flash and then thats it. Budokai was to easy for everything is the same it doesnt matter who you go they are all the same, no diffence at all in strength levels or nuttin. Like krillin is as strong as super saiya-jin Gohan-kun 2 see annoying isn't it.
