Great Game |

Okay, first of all, I want to say that this is a great game, even though it is quite short; but people are rating it down because of that. You have to admit, it is one of the longest fighting games out there; it's not meant to be an rpg, folks. Also, many people are asking where Buu is. All I have to say about that is, when the Buu season of DBZ started, they were already making this game. It seems a little farfetched, but in truth, it takes years to make video games. In fact, I'm a little surprised that they managed to fit Cell in there. Well, as Forrest Gump may say, that's all I have to say about that :) Peace \/

This is a good game. It is however, way too short. I rented the game and beat the story mode in about a hour. There is no replay factor in this game at all. After u beat it and unlock all the tournament modes, it is about the most boring game i have ever played. Even in the story mode there is only about 8 fights (8 good, harder fights, some of the fights like the one against android 19 are just way too easy). I got this game for christmas, and i don't think i have played it since that morning. Dragonball Z Legends for PS1 has a better story mode, but if u are debating between the two, i would tell u to get Budokai.

evryone who says anything bad about the graphics of this game is retarded. this is the ultimate dbz game, this is the reason i got back in to dbz. without it, i would be still playing stupid board games, except for RISK and STRATEGO. overall, this game is awesome, i love vegetas moves and super vegeta, this game is overwhelming with all of the powerful forms and moves you can unlock. in story mode, you feel like you are actually watching most of the cartoon, the ONLY thing wrong is that it does not have anyone from buu saga or GT and the controls are a little tough at first, and thats ALL that is wrong with it.

DragonballZ Budokai is the best it is the no.1 fighting game this year and for the year onwards for me because the Story mode brings a tasty introduction to DBZ fans like me. One of it's major downsides are the lack of players including: Chiatsu, Android*20, Yajarobe,Kami (etc) And where the hell are the rest of the Ginyu force! I fell in love at first sight as i gazed at the game right before my eyes. BEAUTIFUL graphics and fast gameplay keep me in on all days I HAVE STILL been trying to complete it since christmas trying to complete it, I love, so do my friends, get this brilliant game, it's a must MUST get.

This game is really good. This is one of the best games that I have for my PS2. The graphics are really good. And it has the real voices from the show, too. Even if the game is too short, it's really fun. You enjoy playing it. When you beat it, you want to start all over again. I agree with other people that say that the game should've included Garlic Jr. Saga and the and the most important, Buu saga. It would have been better. I really enjoy playing this game. One of the reasons is that I'm a big fan of Dragon Ball Z. And I also have 20 Dragonball Z videos. If you don't have this game yet, buy it.

This game is awesome. As for all of you that are disappointed that majin buu isnt in it.... well i couldnt be happier because i think hes the worst excuse for a villain ever. The game would be so rediculous if that pink blob were in it. I enjoyed the story mode and the duel, fighting and finishing moves, transformations, etc. Funimation really did turn down the violence too much. It babyish sort of like yoshi's island from super nintendo. If there were more blood violence in the actual fighting like when a character is hit with a blow, then it would get a full 10 stars from me. Well thats all for me.

People, i know there are lots of things missing in Budokai, like "Trunks Saga", and some dialogue is really bad, however gameplay is pretty good. Some dont like it after the story mode, but story mode is "weak", even on hard. VS mode is were its at. 1p vs 2p is what keeps you on your toes, especially with costomising, but the costomising can really be cheap. But then again anyone can be cheap, so its not really that cheap.
I dont like Vegeta's stupid ass spin move, because it can alwayse break guard, and he can attack after his spin faster than anyother character in the game. ok im done crying about ti now.

Ok this game was sweet. but there are some things for and second part that would make this on of the all time greatest games. first, make story mode longer. two, add in the other sagas like the Garlic Jr. Saga and Buu saga. three, add to the Cell saga and let you fight with Trunks and Vegeta as they beef up. In the Buu saga you should definetly be able to go SSJ3 and fuse. after the game is beaten you should be able to go to all Super Saiyan levels in Duels. and one more thing, use computer rendered graphics for the movie scenes in between fights in story mode. damn i should have made this game myself!!!!

Hey, guys. Don't think that the game should a power level bar instead of an energy bar. Whom ever has a higher power, will have a longer, stronger level bar. Ex. Krillin's power bar would be 2 inches long but Goku's bar would be 6 inches long. The bar would also be an energy bar becase when it reaches zero your dead. You have to power up to get your life back up. The movement isn't very sufficent either. You can't dodge attacks correctly. Especially a simply ki attack. Every character should a super speed or "teleporting" technique. You guys were right about the combo system being a little wacked.

I thought the game is very good, at least its way better then the passed DBZ Games. The Fighting in the game is great, you can hit a character and send them flying though walls just like the cartoon. And Being able to change into a Super Saiyan in Mid-fight is great! I love Vegeta and The FINAL FLASH finisher is the boom! I love using that move! But if your a true fan you will like the game. Yes I know it doesn't have all the characters amd you cant go to Super Saiyan 3 or 4 but Hey thats means there has to be a part 2 to this game! That just has to come out and if so owww ya that will be mine! lol !!

it took me for every to beat friza with ss goke when friza was at 100% but after that story mode was nto that hard btu the work turniment is way to cheap the ring out me off i am at like full health and my opponit is at like 0 and all he dous is kick me and i am out i mean how cheap is that i got all the seceret carecter besides saiyman and hercule (who wants hercule any way) well i think it would be cool if they had the form of sell when he qwas fused with killen that was a cool form and cell junoir woudl be cool and the sibermen well the game it self kicks a$$ and if u liek dbz u should pick it up.

Being a DBZ fan I expected more out of the game than it had to offer. Forone the timming between button hitting and the actual move was notthe best. Another was when you change to super sayian, where was the yellowish glow or the lightning, and Gohan being the only one to turn into SS2, what about goku. He also reached that ability in the time chamber. I also expected body bulk to change as well, for instance when Trunks goes SS2 he was all body and no speed in the saga. But all in all being a true fan I was trully satisfied that they finnaly came out with a DBZ game, But Will they move on to DBGT?

I think that dragon ball z budokai is super game,the graphics are great,sound is superb,gameplay is superb.You can have story mode including the saiyen saga,friza saga and cell saga.You can transform in battle like super saiyen,and the graphics are just like the real tv show.I'm dissapointed that some characters wern't in the game like Majin Buu,Goten,Dabura and vegetto also you can't transform into super saiyen 3.I like budokai because you can do moves like spirit bomb,final flash,special beam cannon and destructo disk.I'm telling you now if your a dbz fan this must buy game and its only £39.99.

I think the game was pretty good in fitting everybody's attacks in and everything. Plus almost every character that plays a fighting role in the 3 sagas are playable, which is pretty cool. But wat is with all the blocking? There is a thing called Gero's perpatual energy thingy that gives u unlimited energy. You can just stand there and block while the other guy is punchin and shootong weaker energy attacks at u. And computers never use there energy anyhow. But it was an allaround game that i think was pretty close tu the TV show. I just hope budokai 2 is better. Oh....and wat is with no cheats!

If you are a dbz fan, you better go buy this game now! This game covers all the things that happen in the real cartoon. There is a story mode, world torniments, customizing, and much more! people are sayig the story is to short but it really isnt. Its just not challanging enough. But in that case you can go to opions and change the story mode to hard or very hard. That will be much longer and more challanging. The world torniment is also very fun, customize your favorite character to make the best fighter in the torniment. Well i dont want to give away to much of the game so get up and play!!

I am a real big fan of DBZ/GT and when i first heard there was a game been released i was like WOW! but now that i have played it i dont know why i really got my hopes up..... 1/ the japines tlking dose my damn nut in (I speak english and i payed gd money for it too so the least you could of done is put it in ma own language) 2/ the graphics sucked 3/ why do you have majin buu the saiyaman etc on the cover of the game when ya cant even go into them sagas basilcy i think the makers of the game all need to sit dwn and think of a nother way 2 rip ppl off coz its not worth the money i paid for

this game is great but it was realy easy the day i got it i beat it in like 2 hours and i have gotten all the skillz the duel mode is my fav but they should have its when you play as a sayian you get better every rematch and in the story mode you dont play as trunks well i play it every day so it dont matter i hear that the 2nd one is coming in ... Sh!t i forgot but its like a 100$ oh ya i hate saying bad stuff about this but theres one thing i dont like about thr game you could beat anybody with anybody like if you were cell and you fight krillin you could lose thats like the dumb

I don't own the game but I do rent it when it is in and I say this is a very good game!!!!!I couldn't beleive how good the grphics and sounds were!The characters actually look like the ones on T.V.!And sound like em' too!!They couldv'e made you be able to jump and fly without you or somebody else being thrown into the air, and also, the moves took a lot of combinations of the remote which made my fingers sore.And the only you could fly/run fast is if you mash the over button like 3 times and hold it.Well, this is a really cool game!!!And even cooler if you play on a big screen!!!

Hey this game is rubbish it doesn't have COOLER that and it doesnt show all of freizas forms which is bogus and it doesnt have their father and you cant fuse characters like goku and vegeta becoming vegeto or cooler and freiza (heck YEAH!!) man this game reaks of dullness. whoever made it obviously dont appreciate the villains or transformations and another thing why cant the bad guy win for god's sake or at least give the good guys a lot harder of a fight than just act $#< remove me > at !y and lose their chance at victory. thats stupid. and the people that made the cooler movies suxx!!

well, i thought the game was great. good sound, good gameplay. Good game. But to tell ya the truth it was way to short. and there is not nearly enuff characters. I was hoping buu would be in there. oh and gohan ssj2 is for some reason one of the weakest characters. Whats that about!?!? The second one will be alot better I hope. They need to add more characters. Overall I gave the game a 9. Besides the fact that I dont like how they made the characters and how there isnt as many as I expected. But overall the game is good. Hope I can say more for the second one.
