I beat the whole game and I thought that that was the most challenging game yet. I was really caught up with the game the entire summer until school started I thought Bummer.... I was dissapointed though about free roaming I wanted all those stores and shops and builings to open up so I could really check out all there is about London. If that was so and the tight cars I'd really think it'd be a really awsome game which to be will always be ... I'm hoping theres another I really did enjoy the game play.

Pro- What really Impresses me in this game is that they recreated London, and it lets you drive bunch of real cars. This game is also very realistic(which can be a Con, I'll explain). Great Graphic. **By the way, for people who doesn't know how to skip those movies, after you watched it once, just press L3.** It does have an interesting storyline, and it has some cool moves, similar to the ones in "Dead to Rights"
Con- I should say, that the creater tried little TOO HARD to make this game realistic. I mean I understand that they wanted to make this game unique, and realistic as possible. However in a "Grand Theft Auto" style game, you really need a map, at least in a Free Roaming Mode. Also, at least let us see how much bullets we have in the gun, and health... and let me add again, I WANT THE MAP!!!! And also, This problem can't be fixed, but I really hated the way they talked; I really couldn't understand crap, and once I started to understand, I started talking like them, and my friends thought that I was acting like a retard. And also, the music really sucks.
Final Thoughts- Now, the thing about this game is that before you buy this game, you hear so much good things about it(and little too much this time), and the game just looks bad not because it's bad, but because you expect a lot from it. Overall, it is a great game, and it is worth a rent.

It's about time we saw a decent game set in good old England! The Getaway is a great game and the whole storyline is worthy of its own film. The only dissapointment is the ending and rewards, its Free Roam mode lacks in fun, unlike GTA games, and its one of those games where when you've completed then that's it you probably won't play it again! I gave this 9 out of 10 because the story line was great and I played it for hours on end but at the end of the day, it just lacks in fun.

This game is better than gta: vice city. it has better cars, realistic gun fights, and just all around better game-play. I think this is the best Driving/shooting game ever. Vice city gets boring after a while, sure a lot more guns and cars....but it's not realistic at all...in this the story line is force-fed....no crazy side-trips, no secret guns, just shoooting and driving the whole time.

This game is not really a hit. I expected much more of it. Simple story with almost no sence. Boring 3D sequences is a waste of time. Play the game true crimes, coming out in november, than we will see, that you will change your apinion about the geataway.

Ok, they said it took long years of hard work & they said millions of english pounds were spent producing this game but with all respect it wasn't enough to fill my gaming hunger, people the gameplay SUCKS, yet i must admit that there are ONLY 2 things that pulled me in this game 1-the story line(very intresting) & 2-the CRIDETS(very impressive with great musical score) anything else is not good enough i was VERY depressed when i knew that it took all these years & all that money anyway i'm not sad i bought it yet once i finished it i didn't bother playing it again.

If i could id give this game a score of 0!!,i dont recomend buying this game at all(trust me)this game just plainly sucks,id give gta 3 a better run than this game,i played it for 1/2 an hour max b4 i sold it,i so regret buying it,if ur looking for a crim sim,then id suggest any of the grand theft auto(ps2 games)it aint worth the disk its printed on.

one of the problems and I think I speak for most people when I say NO MAP! they should have a map for it so you can see where you are like GTA:VC and they should also have more weapons and also bullet-time like max payne and you should be able to knock people out and take their clothes off and put them on,like hitman2 I do not care about not having a life bar or knowing how many bullets are left the control layout is great and the camera angles are fine im sure driver 3 will be better but the graphics in this game are great accept that there are only about 10 frazes people say in free roam and it should be available at the beginning most people don't want to play story mode most want to have lots of fun killing peple and having police chases but I think when you grab people in a chokehold you should be able to let them go and there should be more moves like you should be able to kick them down onto there knees and they will stay there for 10 secs so you can shoot them in the head and you should be able to drag their corpses and you should be able to go into any place with a door like houses and people will be sitting on their couches watching T.V. and you can walk in there and pull out your guns and people will get on their knees and beg for their lives and some will be upstairs sleeping in thier beds and if you touch them they will awake or you can shoot them in their sleep and in some building there are elevators and you can choose floors and you can get on the roofs and shoot people off the roof and they will scream while falling to their deaths and they should have motor cycles and dirt bikes and tracks and helicopters and plains and there should be a airport and you will be able to steel any plain like you should be able to rig planes and cars and any vehicle with c4 and they should have boats to and instead of having hidden vehicles you should be able to get money so you can buy secret vehicles and they should have taxis and hookers and in the game you can pick people up and you can get out of the car and blow the car up and when you shoot the hood they should blow up not catch fire and body parts and blood should be on the ground after the explotion.and also be able to do drive bys and you should be able to choose bad from good in story and choose between dc carter and marc hammond in free roamand be able to jump and be able to talk to any one and in som places there will be concerts and you can form riots but im going to give it a seven

the Getaway is one of those things that 5 years from now everyone will have to have a copy. and here is my review I think the great thing about this game is how real it is I mean vice city fun, but really it isn't belive able one guy who decides to have his own crime empire kill people on the streets freely and steal 300,000 dollar cars and get away with it. come on . This game has every thing that a real crimanl has to face such as hiding behind walls and taking hostages, it lacks guns thow all it needs is a sawed off shotgun(lock stock and two smoking barrels) and a big colt revoler. The other great thing is the movies its based after if you ask me it was mostly based off get carter(1971) and the IFC film Gangter number one(1999) both great films!

this game is good, but its unrealistic because when the guy is wounded u just go to any wall and he will rest in the wall for a while...regenerating their wounds, like he suck some vital energy from the walls !!!!! THIS IS VERY STUPID!!!!! it begins to get boring when u finish Mark Hammond missions and start playing as Dectective Carter bcos its more fun to play as a crimminal

There is only a few bad things, there is a dead small amount of guns and wepons. you cant jump.... AT ALL!! you cant do drivebys. you cant get different costumes. you cant shoot ppls heads off. you cant jump out of cars. there is no moterbikes. now for the gud stuff, you get real cars. real city... London. proper locations. nice animation for popped tyres. nice animation for damage.

The game is cool but it needed more street crime. I have to give Sony some credit because, it is there first game they made and the graphics are sweet. But it needs more missions. And it needs more gameplay. Like when you drive to the police station in free roaming the car is never there. Not yet one of the best games but far from sucking. And it needs more weapons. And it needs to allow you to enter more buildings during free roaming. Thats all I have to say about The Getaway. Peace

This game is one of the best I've ever played,the story line is amazing.Simply: If you liked Snatch or Lock,Stock,and Two Smoking Barrels you'll love this game.It's better than the GTA series in my opinion.It takes place in London,wich is one of the reason's it's a favorite of mine.It's almost like you get to know these fictional character's,the gameplay didn't realy bother me.My only complaint would be that there's not enough weapon's you can use,other than that it's one of the best games I've ever played.Finaly,a break from the overly cliche'd mobster's of Newyork or L.A....

this game is great, every part is brill, I like the fact when your sitting around your mates house you can make up you own games within the game! E.g. When you complete the Getaway you have free roam then you have two mins to kill as many black people as you can or taxi drivers or what ever you way is great i give this game top marks 10 out of 10........keep it up SOHO!

The only good thing about this game is that you can steal real cars. Every other aspect of the game is horrendous. The storyline is stupid, this is just another shoot em up game, like all of the ones before it (GTA3, Vice City, State Of Emergency). They need to start making street crime games that require some strategy. All you have to do in this game is kill the people that the fat English guy tells you to kill. This game isnt worth renting, much less buying. Another bad thing about this game, it's set on the streets of England! Who cares about the streets of England? There isn't a hardcore street gang in England. If you want to get this, don't, it would be the biggest waste of money you could ever do. Wait for a good street crime game to come out, like: True Crime, coming out in November

needs more work in to the game theres a few cheats in the game like flying and stuff every thing else is ok.the 1 thing i can not stand is aiming your gun they need way more work in to that i would rent the game but not buy it.The game play is pretty good like rolling and how you can steel eny car are bus are big trucks but i wish you can fight in the game to.

I just bought The Getaway today, and it is sooo entertaining! The graphics are fantastic because it's very realistic.
I think that if you enjoy to play Grand theft Auto: Vice City, than you should love this game.
I like this game mostly because of the story line. It rellay does make you think, and its a great challenge.
There is a couple of things I dislike, which are: not being able to do drive-bys, not having any music in the cars, and mostly, I cannot jump or run!
Even though you can't do those, the game is still sweet, and I think it is worth your money buying it. I strongly reccommend you buying The Getaway If you enjoy a game that involves a lot of hard missions, very realistic graphics, great sounding vehicles,driving on challenging streets in London, shooting-up gang members, or even if you enjoy a game to just screw around on... Than this game is for you so pick up as soon as possible! I giveThe Getaway Two thumbs up!!!

the getaway is better than gta and the people look more realer than that cartoon, gta game. the bad thing is the grapics in the park the bushes are thin and they knock you back which is dull and the dirt is like a regular playstation 1 game but the people when you shoot them in a mission at least you dont get the cops after you,when you are a cop,when youre dc frank carter.other than the grapic the game is good so far.the lifespan is kind of short but when you put in the code its better.they could go down on the f-word a little bit
but the other words they aint that bad.the value is good

the getaway is sO mad! but i still like grand theft auto vice city.The getaway has goood graphics but.it has a lot of voilence and swearing.my favourite car is a lotus elise.it is really fast.i have 100 cheats for the getaway.i wish that it had motorbikes and harleys.
