I just got The Getaway yesterday, and I have to say, it's freakin' awesome! The graphics and storyline are way better than in GTA 3/VC. The only "flaws" I've seen are that the character can't jump, run, or do drive-bys. Other than that, it's perfect. I haven't finished it yet, as it's a very challenging game. Unlike GTA, many missions take several times to accomplish. I finished GTA:VC in two days, but in The Getaway I'm only on mission 5 of 24 and am already having a hard time. (Of course, not having a map could be a contributing factor.) The challenging aspect of the game makes it more interesting, while GTA just got boring after a while. While it does have a few minor flaws, I still say it's the best game I've ever played.

I think that the Getaway is a spectacular game. The graphics are good, you dont get bored quickly, has great cheats and has alot to offer once free roam mode is complete. The story line is very 'British', with the same style and language as British gangster films. The cars are great, and the exact (nearly) replica of London adds a bit more depth into the games storyline.

i have just brought the game and i think it is excellent and the story line is great it is a fantastic game and i would reccomend it to anybody who likes violence, excitement, drivind and shoot em ups it is great value for money. the lifespan of the main character is very realistic and the way he runs after he has been shot is great {very reallistic} and to heal yourself you lean up a wall and you are ok.

I bought the game recently..and did notice it was alot like GTA..i cant say which one is better.. i think theyre both great,this game is more realistic..but i dunno i think GTA is more fun,even though i myself am burned out on it,i dont like the fact that you yourself cant shoot out the window..even though its a little extreme..i mean so is the storyline so what right?..this is a great game either way very challening..sometimes to the point of hard. i would diffently recommend buying this one.

While GTA3 And VC are good. The Getaway has much more action in it wile GTA3 and VC dosent have that much. The graphics are great, But the game can be a little more longer. But Free Roming mode does make up for this. The game has a great movie Sequence to it which makes the game comes more alive. A must bye game if you like action. Damn the ones that dont like this game its Sweet. The game is worth you bucks.

If you think GTA 1,2,3 and VC are bad then this is not worth a fiddle. Luck I loved GTA, so I think this game is ok. This is a complete copy of GTA graphic wise, and gameplay wise. The only differences are that you are after your child and the game is set in London, alot like the movie Lock Stock And Two Smoking Barrels. This would keep me amused for about a month until I get another game. GTA 3 kept me amused for a year and it still does.

I love the getaway. it is so realistic but you can't really compare it to the GTA Series because they are completely different GTA has gone for a fun joyride style game while the Getaway opted for all out action as opposed to random murder. I love the way you can take hostages and slide along walls and stuff. Grat Game

The getaway an amazing game brilliant graphics and superb game play. But is it the best game ever made, with the graphics and the game play that it has and also the 24 superb levels that it has it has everything to satisfy you in every way possible and if that dosnt sattisfy you then try the free roaming mode when you complete the game that'll give you hours of fun so yes the getaway is the best game ever made.

I think GTA VC is the best game have but i also like the getaway but the fact is that the games are realy not of the same kind,in the getaway you have to do very difficult and long missions and in GTA VC are realy simpel missions and the are also short so it is realy not the same and that is why i like both the games.

This Game was fun to play but it had no breaks from missions, you were on a mission all the time which really sucked but other than that it was great and lifelike with blood stained walls and shirts etc. They needed to have a timer though. Full on action and cooless.

The game is excellant, especially if you know central London at all. Having said that I left me wanting more freedom of action, although at least two missions can be completed in unexpected ways.
If all the locations were open all the time it would help. Personally I wasn't that keen on the timed missions, although they are all appropriately challenging. I thought the best game would combine the realistic geograpy and superior cutscenes of Getaway witht the free play simulation of GTA VC. Also a bonus would be a way to postpone missions.

You can't compare GTA (3 or VC) to this game, as they both set out to do something very different. Both have their pros, but I admire The Getaway, as they tried a competely diffrent style of gaming which i found made it much simpler to get to grips with. I doubly like it because I can drive past my flat on Rosebery Avenue from the comfort of my sofa. Self interest will always sell games!

ok now im not saying this is a bad game but seriously, what can u do? u can do 24 easy missions then drive round london. wow! talk bout repetitive the gangs dont even try and kill u unless u actually walk up 2 them and try to kill them. this game is lame and has no things 2 do except drive around. the only good things is the real map and real cars. other than that very bad.

In this game you have to do missions you can't go on a joy ride, try to dich the cops, and well it had a lot of things that wernt as thought out as Grand Theaft auto did. You dont know where the cops are or even if the cops are on your tail. the controlls on this game were very bad! while on Vice city the controlls are very very easy to learn and its not as hard to do things. While on the Getaway i never could find out the controlls of it and i rented it for five days playing it over and over again it just wasent as good as Grand Theaft Auto Vice city and Grand THeaft auto 3.

I thought that this game was amazing when I first bought it.I thought it was much better than GTA because they have real cars and graphics are more realistic than GTA VC.The cars handle really well.I like the idea that you must do the missions before you unlock free roaming.They have real places like burger king,pea$#< remove me > at !s,McDonalds etc.I like the nly thing I think they should of done was that you could do vigilante,paramedic,firefighter,cab missions.But I loves the game.

This game was very good. It actauly had a believable story line and is just as good as GTA Vice City. Although the controls were a little shaky it is one of thebest games around. I do not care if it is British based, it is very cool. And No, I'm not british. And aall those who thing this game is too British. you need to play the game again and this time you need to pay some attention.

Well first off, it's well realistic, it's got a great storyline behind it and for once it's bloody British! i mean how many brittish games with brittish people in them are out? hardly any. this game is one of the best i have ever played, so much better than GTA!!!

This game may be realistic, but it cannot be compared to GTA:VC.You can do more true to life things like drivebys, fly helicopters at will, just cruise around, and have fun.You also can buy houses and businesses. On the getaway you just do what your told. I wouldn't recommend to anybody.

It is a brilliant game, with wicked graphics, it is the most realistic game i have played on. the story is very good but i felt the ending was not so good, i felt it was a bit rushed, i was expecting a big shoot up, but there is a big explosion.
It took me about 3 weeks to fully complete it, i found the second part of the game when you play the copper, Carter. some part are not very fun because it gets very repetative, and sometimes all of the driving can be a bit boring. But i think it is vrey good the way that you can gain health, there is nomedi-packs or anything, you lean against a wall and cathc your breath. One thing that is really anoying is the movie sequences, they are very long and you cant skip them, you haveto watch them every time youload up the game. i love the game, very good. the story line is just like a british gangster film, with the slight hollywood movie explosions.
