If you have plenty of friends to play with this may be the best game in you collection. the controlls are so simple yet so hard to master. I have had the game for one day and am in love with it. This game actually has a bit of strategy to it you cant just go in mashing buttons and win you have to know when to retreat and when just to back off for a sec.(after beating the final boss you will see what I mean)the controls and gameplay are smooth and precise really you cant ask for better controls, jump,block,light attack,heavy attack,and my favorite the grab and throw. Each caracter has his own special moves and each is unique and fun to watch. Shoot the whole game is fun to watch, The flying objects everything. You can pick up debri after throwing your adversary though a building and use it as a weapon. You can chuck it at them or pumle them to death with it the choice is yours.( the little people running around can even be squished by tour monters feet heh heh). Sound is pretty darn good just the way the music is used and the monsters screaming in triumph or agony at just the right times wow the people even scream as they try to run away. The graphics: It wasnt meant to look real so I would say in my opinion this is one of the best looking PS2 releases ever(It reminds me of really good comic book art) I saw a complaint that there wasnt enough caracters, all I have to say to this is I know at least three monsters(thats all i have skins unlocked for)have a skin that changes the appearence completly and I bet they all do so ther is plenty of variety. Now for the bad: The only complaints I have is that in multiplayer sometimes the screen doesnt come together quick enough(minor not worth complaining about)and ther is no GAINT SPIDER When I think of fifties horror I think of the giant spider so there had better be one in the sequal. THERE HAD BETTER BE A SEQUAL.My policy is if you are unsure rent it first, But I bet you are out buying it before your rental is due back break down:gameplay 8.3 sound 8.0 graphics 9.0 replayability 7(with friends 9.5 wich puts it in at a strong and solid 8.5

I really enjoyed playing this game. It's really great when you first start. The characters are pretty cool but the ones like Magmo and Zorgulon could use some work. I have beat the game with every character and have unlocked everything except the mecha sweet tooth chostume for Agamo. The game has a few glitches every once in awhile like once I used my special with Togera and it only showed a little thin blue line instead of the cool acid stuff. The adventure mode is kinda hard. I think the level where you fight the two Raptroses is the hardest. The two player is pretty fun especially when you've got a bunch of friends to play with. Personally I think the mini games suck. They're just pointless. They could've done a lot better on them. The enviroment things are cool like the tidal wave and the earthquake in Baytown. The Eruption in the level with the volcano is cheesy I know for a fact it could've been better. I really love the interractiveness of the game. You can just pick up any darn thing you want from a gas truck to a steel girder. I want them to make a sequel really bad this game is awesome with all the sounds and interactiveness and the monsters specials. Not to mention all the unlockable chostumes. I think this game is great but they could improve it a lot. For one make it 4 player so you and a bunch of friends can duke it out. Two make a co-op adventure that would be cool. And three make the cool videos at the end after you beat it with a monster a little longer. Overall I think this game is a must have for anyon who has a PS2. Don't let any of the bad things I've said about this game stop you. At least rent it.

This truly is one of the best fighting games ever. FIrst of all i'd like to say that the battle system is great. There are two main attack buttons, a jump button, a grab button, and a gaurd button. Also there are no more combos by pressiing buttons almost imposible to memorize, just simplely two buttons. It's great to just use everything in the enviroment to your advantage (ex: using a radio tower as a spear, or using a steel girder as a baseball bat). The graphics are great. It just feels so real when your watching buldings blow up, or cars, people, and houses burn to a crisp. The game sounds like it came right out of a movie. Listenig to people scream, hearing buildings blow up, our being mystified by how real and dead on the monsters sound. I bougt a demo of this in a jampak and feel in love with this game even though all it was was two monsters and one level. So i bought it and now its definitly one of the favorite games in my massivly enourmous collection. I dont care what any one says this game is deffinetly awwwwwwwwwsome. I even love this game so much that i made a huuge arrticle one war of the monsters in my weekly gameing magazine. The creators hit the spot when they made this game. Now i think i'll go play War of the Monsters again.

War of the monsters is one heck of a game if you don't buy it you haven't played it you will never know the meaning of life.
It is a 3D game with monsters battling it out to prove whoes best. You can not get better than that. If you have seen the movies Godzilla, King Kong, Them, SpyKids3D, Mars Attack or the Gundam Robots series you will recignize the monsters even though they will look a bit differen and have different names so that just adds to the thrill of this game. The level selection is great and so is the natural disasters that are scattered around this game. I love the combo attacks and the graphics just blow you away. If you want to know more about your monster just complete adventure mode so you just keep guessing what made them so big, the makers of this game are always 1 step ahead of us.
I love the detail for example it has everything a real sity would have. And if you look really hard you can spot objects that look like the Golden Gate, the sword in the stone and the Eifell tower. This game rules. Get it tell your friends and if all they say to you is ofcourse its one the best games on the planet. Then prove it to them thats what i did. In conclusion this is a must have game. Graphics-9 Gameplay-5 Sound-7.

This game is the-bomb-diggedy-fresh fo' real yo. IM a master at using kineteclops. When I bought the last version of kineteclops, he looked like the loochnes monster. I got a almost every costume for every monster. I just did the last level a bunch of times. Then I got like 800,000 coins. IF you dont know how to beat the last level boss all you have to do is (when he's still a full robot) get behind a pillar and wait for him to stop shooting. I recommend that you block while you're behind the pillar. Then grab a gasoline tank and throw it at him after youve locked onto is head, then start shooting at him. Repeat this and he'll like blow up and turn into some robotic worm. What you have to do here is throw the broken ship pieces at him. Just keep on running in circles around the buildings then ocassionally jump off the building and throw a part of the robot a the worm-like thingy. Then it's gonna turn into some worm like alien thing. All you have to do here is repeadetly do the dive attack (x then up and triangle in the air). Then youll figure out the origin of your monster and get 30,000 coins.

This is easily the best game i've ever played because of the graphics(that are so good)and the fact that it's got it's own story behind the game and when you complete the game with someone it shows you how that monster was made.
But the best character is definitly Ultra-V because of his long range special it stuns your opponent and brings them towards you ready for a good beat up.Agmos 4th costume is the best even though it does cost 200,000 battle tokens but it's worth it because of his laugh and spike ball.The only bad things about the game is once you've unlocked everything and seen how every monster was made you need a friend to play 2 player with otherwise it's boring and the other thing is that you can't fight back when they're punching/kicking you.

Well done incog inc!I have had this game for 2 days and I have really enjoyed it. The graphics are great the life span is wicked the sound is ace and the gameplay is absouletly super. But zorgulon and robo 47 are the pair that are not very good. My mum thinks agamo is really good i have completed it with preytor,togera and now agamo i do like congar ultra-v[5] and magmo. The first boss [ oupost x ] is good then in atomic island once you start a meltdown vegon comes out[ watch out for the kineticlopses] then at the capitol the boss with 3 forms [ spaceship with a laser, a four legged monster and then a 5 eyed REALLY ugly alien ] the 3rd form does 22 hit combos so [do try to defend] once you do this you find out how that monster was created.

I loved this game so much. I,ve only had it for about 5 days and I already have mastered it. The graphics rocked! The sound is easy to hear but it the backround music is a little too calm, although the monsters sound great. This game has one of the best replay values i have ever seen, and so many unlockables that it will take about a month of straight playing. The levels are so well done plus they destroy so easily! One of the best parts of the game is that you can pick up half the level bit by bit to throw at your opponent! Preytor the mantis is the best. this is a really original game. ive had so much fun with this game. another good point of the game is impaling other monsters and then unleashing a nuke special on them!

this is the game that (almost)everyone needs.its great if you have friends you want to teach a lesson in death...the graphics where great,gameplay was the bomb,lifespan a little disapointing,fun was incredeble,origanal was good and value one million dollars.a must have in your playstation2 collection.its the game that is great for parties,ofcourse the cream de la cream are the natural disasters.earthquakes.tidal waves.and so on and on.the gameplay is great for playing it forever.my words when i played it the first time are...drooling,gasping for air...too good to be true.if you want to buy one game a year,please let it be this one.its too good to leave it standing in the stores...war of the monsters rules!!!!!!!!!

This game has very good graphcs. There are 36 characters, 4 for each guy. My personal favorite is Preytor. He is the fastest character who is one of two who can fly. Preytors long range dominates all attacks. He shoots a parasite at opponents and the parasite sucks his life little by little, but goes away after about 10 sec. The other characters are pretty good, too. There are many places to go to battle. My favorite is UFO because Preytors got an advantage. There are casinos and tsunopolis which always gets tidal waves. Other wise, this game rocks and this should be the next game anybody gets because of how well developed this game is.

I have had a ps2 ever since the first day they came out in the U.S. and yes i was one of those fools that stood out infront of walmart and waited all night for them to open the doors. but this game is one of the few that i have bought for the system. i only play fighting games. i own all of the tekken series, some marvel vs. capcom, and dragon ball z budokai, but this one is awsome. you can pick up damn near anything and hurl it at your opponant. i must say sony did a good job on this one. kudos to whoever buys it. it is the 3rd best selling game. so go buy it! and put it at #1! instead of that damned SIMS game!

You are going to love this game beacuse you can cause earthquakes,tidelwaves,atomc goo and but not least vocno earupshes.There are some look-likes like King Kong and Godzilla,drangons,aleins,lovea monters and more.I never found any cheats to this game but gameshark cheats and I am still looking for some cheats can you heip me find some cheats.The avermode is cool but short and the first boss is weak but though out the game the bosses get horder and the last boss is a dig alein that has three formes and the first form is a spaceship that has a laser. I got this game in may 2003. I had only plade it once and I knew i hade to have the game. The best thing is the graphics. my # 2 favrit monster is robo-47. I like his homing misile.my #1 favrot monster is raptors. I can fly forever with him on the big vocano levle. I do this with a up down combination. his special attack is cool because you can follow your enemies wile attacking. the thing i dont like about the short range attack is that all of them are some tipe of exploshin. but beside that this game is cool. i would rate it a 110out of 100

I rented WotM for a sleep over and I can't get enoguh of this wonderful game! The graphics are superb, the re-playability is of the charts and the Zany rip-off charatcers are cooler than cool!
I, personally, think Congar is the Best but my friend likes Kineticlops. I love unlocking things.. plus its easy, just play Endurance over and over and youg et credits real quick! Its like playing Unlimited with your friends, cept you get money for whoopin' monster booty!
I rented this game and I can't wait to buy it!

This is the greatest game I have played. There is only one thing that I don't like. Well in stead of monster tokens they should have codes to unlock the monsters and stuff. The game is great but I'm having alittle trouble so if anyone has cheat for me send to it to joeylivesey< remove me > at msn.com. I can't what to get that dragon monster. Even if anyone has cheats for me on how to get any different mosters just send me an E-mail. You know when you beat that alien dude and that little guy comes out there should be a sequele of war of the Monsters

The only highlite that knocks out this is there is no sequels or big back storys like Twisted Metal:Black and alla that stuff But the One Line On my title tells you,my favourite character, the most amazing flyer,the bestest guy in the world and a guy with an Xtreme 4th skin.Now,if only they some,nylon,cyclones,T.N.T storage and flipping better excuses for creating Zorgulon!!!!! and one more thing, cerebulon is ACTUALLY a weak little bug.If you do the game with A red ultra-v,why do you face an identical ultra-V? Everything is good about this game except one thing, the adventure mode is long and hard.The last boss is no challenge at all.At one point in the game, you have to fight Congor"the ape"and Preytor"the praying mantis".They always beat me down.It makes me feel like throwing the game out the window.Two player mode is the best mode on the game.Up to two cpu monsters can fight you and your friend."Tokens" are what you get for beating levels,bosses,etc.They are used to get new characters,costumes,mini games,and places.

This is the best game I have ever played. It is a lot of fun on two player and you can just play it for hours. It NEVER gets old. Me and my friends set up tournament brackets and duke it out for days. It does have a few bugs, like on endurance when it loads the next character, but that isn't too bad. What it needs is to be an online game, have four players be able to go at once, More characters and unlocks, better mini-games, and more "BIG" levels. Like Metro City, Baytown, and tsunopolis.

I think War of the Monsters is the greatest game ever!!! Everytime I play I am Raptros!! Raptros! Raptros! Raptros! I am always Raptros! I thank my friend's brother for introducing the game 2 me. I know how to do flips in the air,spiralling and all that stuff, but I won't tell you how cuz u will have 2 figure it out yourself! It's a great game! (I'm a girl. If you want a game that has plenty of action then this is the game for you there are 10 characters and loads of arenas which can be totaly destroyed , i love throwing monsters into buildings which smash into a little rubble, the game only scores an 8 in my view because there is not many characters to choose from and the fighting system can get a little frustrating but apart from that it is a one of a kind game and a must have for people who like to beat the daylights out of monsters.
