Thinking of getting Metal Gears Solid 2: Sons of Liberty? Don't! Get this! | | ASCII32 from Hopkinton, New Hampshire USA says (9/Mar/2003): | Why buy Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty (SoL), when for only 10 dollars more (at best buy it was the second day it was out, it was only $39.99!) you can get the same game, with 3 other games (actually more) in one oackage! Substance is more of a collectors edition of SoL, and better. It has around 7 characters to unlock including X Raiden (naked) and ninja Raiden, Pliskin, MGS1 Snake, and more. The best thing about the game is, it has the ENTIRE SoL game inside of it, and even though if you have beaten SoL it is just as easily beaten. That is, until you get Hard mode. Then, you get Extreme mode. Then, you get European Extreme mode. That isn't all. You want more? Well, you get to skateboard as Raiden or Snake around the big shell, all the old secrets to SoL, A movie theater where you can switch diferent characters in the different movies throughout the game. (like have snake fight otacon and not Raiden and Solidus) or 300+ VR Missions, Alternative missions like hold up mode, eliminate all mode, sneaking mode, STREAKING mode (raiden strips naked) and LOTS MORE to unlock, and explore. Now the breakdown
Graphics: 9.5 - If you don't believe me, there is not a single rough looking spot, go into first person view and just look around at the beautiful interactive world.
Gameplay - 9-10 - The gameplay is amazing. Bullets fly, hollow floors creek, girls distract perverted guards. Gameplay is extremely effecient.
Sound: 8 The soound is extremely interactive stereo. It will scare the crap out of you when a guard pops out from behind a wall and spots you, a loud noise alerting others, than he radios for backup and the alert mode is on. Scary...
Fun Factor: 10 It takes a long time after playing the game over and over and over and over until you unlock, see, and laugh at EVERYTHING! Than, in Substance, there are all the other bonus features that are the same way! You never get tired of this game if you truly enjoy action or MGS games. A great Metal Gear Series pick.
Final Word:
This game rocks. DO NOT BUY METAL GEAR SOLID 2: SONS OF LIBERTY! BUY THIS "COLLECTORS" TYPE VERSION INSTEAD. You really get your moneys' worth. Enjoy this game, and thanks for reading my lengthy review.

From missions in the big shell to skating in the big shell to fighting a fifty foot bad guy with a stinger to vr training in the best graphics of all time. Buy it now!!!!!!
