Dude you gotta check this out |
| Travis from Charelston,WV USA says (26/May/2003): |
This game is one of the best games out for the ps2.This is the best of the Dynasty Warriors out there!Lu Bu was my all time favorites and in all the other Dynasty Warriors he never had his own time to shine and be a hero....er something like that. The new orb system also was a awsome addition to the new game and the model change was nice too.The weapons where alot esasier to upgrade instead of the old routine you kill the officer you get the weapon. Also the new edit mode was cool but they only get one model but its still cool.Pick up your feet, get your keys, and drive to the mall or where ever and get this game!

Dynasty warriors is a great game |
| Kuja from Czech says (25/May/2003): |
I have to admit, DW 4 is the best game that koei has made said aside to kessen 2, jsut because im such a great fan of kessen. The only downfalls in DW4 is the character making.. very poorly made and could be made alot better.. They also need NEW characters bacaus it gets lame when you play the same characters on the same levels with the same story line. they need to creat a whole new storyline and everything else, besides that the game is great and i am absolutely addicted to it..
|
One hell of a game |
| Andrew Plitt from baltimore, Maryland says (22/May/2003): |
I've never been a big fan of DW yet this one changed my mind. The minute I played it I figured out that it was a really good game. I reccomended it to some of my friends, and all of them loved. I have to admit that this game was one of the best games I have ever played. If your not into DW you will be after you play this.

one hell of a game |
| cody from bakersfield says (21/May/2003): |
i've played the dw saga since the first one and think it has improved alot. some of the things that caught my interest is the dueling, starting off with horses, and the weapon build up system. couple of things i think that need improvement are one, they need to make better created warrior setups. you can only pick from so many outfits and once you build up a weapon then all the weapons in that catagory are the same. two, there was no secret characters. the took out fu xi and nu wa for created warriors. and last, they need to make it to where there is more missions instead of the same thing all the time. don't get me wrong. i love this game, my whole family says i'm addicted. i even got my brother started on the dw saga. with the next one i think they will make the ultimate game .

Sick Game |
| Andrew from Massachusetts says (18/May/2003): |
Ok, i think that Blake from Minnesota, or where ever is retarded. He thinks that you should be able to control the entire army, ya maybe by an option, but the game is better the way it is. I garantee that if they made it so that u control the whole army then the graphics would be down graded. The only thing that i dont like about this game is that they only have 10 levels of weapons, but it's still a great game. I already have a weapon at level 10 and my attack just about maxed out and i think that its still kinda weak, but besides that i think its like the best game i've ever played.

THE BEST GAME ON PS2 |
| Andrew from Montgomery, USA says (18/May/2003): |
KOEI has done an excellent job at creating a sequel to DW3. My personal favorite feature is the duels. But i like the siege equipment and the new levels too. The graphics are really good, but the music could use some work. Another problem is the length of the game. Once you beat all the musous there's nothing really left to do. But if you're the patient type you can have fun for ages. Overall tye game is one of my favorites.

the best game ever |
| A gamer from Glendale, California, USA says (17/May/2003): |
DW4 is the best game ever, except for the create a character. They should make it so that it looks different. All in all, this is an awesome game and is worth the 50 bucks. Lu Bu is in this game and still my number one character. Leveling the weapons is a good improvement in the game from DW3. If you havent played any of the Dynasty Warriors games, you should buy this game.

Incredible, with some flaws |
| A gamer from Wichita,Ks USA says (13/May/2003): |
Dynasty warriors 4 is the very best in the series. I like how you can upgrade the weapons easily, instead of trying to make generals drop them. Another good improvement is the new character models. Dian Wei's looks more authentic because it isn't pure blue. I also like the "other" musou modes, like Nanman and Lu Bu. The bigger number of battles is also cool. Getting harnesses to start with red hare and stuff is very cool, since my favorite character is slow. But it also has flaws. I think the way to get "Tales" is too complicated, like kill (general) then (general) in order. I like opening edit, and it should be easier to access. All in all, it is one of the best games thought of!

fun game, more powers, more control of army and generals |
| Alex from Los Angeles, California says (12/May/2003): |
The graphics are great, and the realism of the characters is getting better. I personally feel that you need more control of your armies. Like in one of KOEI's older games Kessen/KessenII(which I loved). I liked how you can shift from general to general to try and change the tide of war in Kessen. I tend to find myself fighting the war for the rest of the army in DW4. Granted, I'm trying to make my general more powerful, but it tends to get a little tedious towards the end of the story game.
I love the war sounds. The screaming and yelling of battle is amazing, and life like. It really sounds like an epic battle is afoot. I would love to hear more blood curdling screams. I understand that this game is made for certain ages, but it could be interesting.
I would love to understand who the good guy and bad guy is. Not that it makes a huge difference, but I would love to know what spectrum I'm on. World domination, or peace for all. I feel that all of the generals are just greedy in their own way.
There should be different regiments aswell. The only difference between my army and theirs' is the color of their uniforms in most cases. I would love to see cavalry, infantry, special forces, anything to diversify the game units.
Also, I think that it's to easy to get to the lead enemy general. All you have to do is get on a horse and head right for him. You should have to battle through their armies.
I also understand that your general has body guards, but if he is a general, or leader of some sort, shouldn't he have a regiment following him?
And, why doesn't the general that you use, like Cao Cao, start on a horse when you use him? He starts on a horse when your another general in his army.
Since this is not based on fact, why can't your general have more magic powers? I would love to see them summon in beasts of sorts to fight on the battlefield. More experience for the general you're using.
I would also love to see your experience levels be more extensive. They should be able to become gods on the battlefield.
I tend to be a little to critial of games, but this game has so much more potential to be great and diverse. I love fighting epic battles and being involved in my armies wins and losses, and love the way that KOEI is thinking. This game is headed to epic proportions and I feel there will be the perfect war game still yet to come from this company. I have hoped that someone would come out with this type of game for action strategists like myself, and this has come one step closer to the game that would be impossible to put down.

This game's pretty good |
| bB from Halifax, Nova Scotia says (12/May/2003): |
This game was definitely the best in the series, but it could be improved. The gamepaly on a whole is awesome, and I find it real fluid in how the moves go from one to another. the soundtrack, though...you can tell it's made in Japan, I'll just say that. I like
the fact that you open 2 new places when you beat your first game, but I wish you could fight each other in a free mode, instead of the same team. Also, the computer needs to be more aggressive, both your side and the opponents. The enemies even on hard just usually float around you, which sorta sucks. All in all though, it's a great game, well worth the money.

Hello there |
| A gamer from Marion United States says (12/May/2003): |
DW4 is the best dw game out of all of them. But there are very few secrets. Thou Tai is my favorite because of his mousou. Hu Hu Hu Hu HEEAH! So I would give it a 9. The edit was kk but you should be able to make them look different not ALIKE!. Cao Ren is cool but he is slowwwwwwww. I like his mousou because he goes slash slash spin in air {low in air} then boom. Yue Ying is ok because her mousou is spin spin spin then haah in the air.Well they sound different but i don't care. The items and hores are cool.Well thats it bye.

Not bad at all KOEI |
| Dani Sofjan from Texas, USA says (11/May/2003): |
I have always bought and played the DW games, 1-4, but the 4th one is really the best of all the series. However, the create a player needs A WHOLE LOT MORE improvement. I always loved Fu Xi as my fighting characterbut in DW4, they make Fu Xi look like trash. Create a bodyguard I don't mind. The variety of weapons in the game is pleasing, except when it gets to the level 10's I have to find. Lu Bu in this game is well, harder than the ones before but in hard mode. I walk around and he starts following me and bashes my head off. The new attacks are sweet, except when Lu Bu uses it against me of course. The weapon expirience thing is better than previous games, because in DW3, I spent hours trying to find 3rd weapons. The new items are pretty good. Zhou Tai, the new guy, kick buttzzz. His musou is THE best. Slash, Slash, Slash, Slash, BAM, then the enemy flies through the screen screaming for their momies, except when I use it against Lu Bu, he counters and kicks me 50 feet away from him. Cao Ren isn't bad, but he is fat and slow. Yue Ying isn't also bad, but she is weak. The costume picking is great as well. All I can say is this is the best game in rpg-like playing action game around!

Dynasty Warriors 4 is my favorite game but I am still a little bit dissapointed. |
| Tomass from Santiago, Chile says (10/May/2003): |
All right DW4 kicks butt, but lets face it, there are very few improvements from DW3. I loved how you can ride on horses at the begging of the level along with elephants; damage from the horse seems to have increased(especially with Ma Chao), and the shadow steed is awesome. However, Koei robbed us of a few things. First of all there were barely any new characters, and not a single secret one. The create a character is a piece of $#< remove me > at ! because you dont really get to change the costume of the new character and you dont get to change his face at all so they all look alike. And the worst thing about it was the horrible AI. Some times I'll be fighting groups of five compts (the only type of formation featured in the game) and another group of fvie will be right there but wont come to aid them. There wasnt enough siege either and there were a few really stupid things like grenades which are innacurate according to history itself!

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC |
| Big Frank from DALLAS, USA says (6/May/2003): |
KOEI couldn't have done a better job although there's always room for improvement. I am a LUBU fan and not much else. LUBU is an absolute powerhouse. He simply kicks butt no matter what the difficulty. I love KOEI for that. I only hate you can't really take full advantage of the orbs because his moves are just too powerful. So far the orb that "looks" like it's doing the most damage to me is the lightning orb, very nice light show. I also play with CAO CAO. He was my first maxed character. The vorpal orb doesn't work as good as his DW3 death element though. The duel feature is really nice. You can really get your azz whipped quick in that cage and piss the other player off especially if you are deep into that particular scene. I could go on and on but i'll stop here. KOEI!! Get your contract straight with SONY so you can make games like this for the XBOX come out at the same time instead of a year later.

This is the best game ever!!!!! |
| Casey from Corvallis, Oregon, USA says (6/May/2003): |
I've played DW2 and DW3 at a friends house before, and I kept going over to his house everyday to play them. Once DW4 came out and I saw the commercial, I went straight to Blockbuster and rented it. IT IS THE BEST GAME EVER!!! The graphics are awesome, the music rocks, the edit char. mode could be better, but it's OK, and the new char's rock. Zhou Tai is so the best, he has the best moves, and his final outfit is the best outfit ever. Period. The game is definitely worth the 50 bucks, it rocks, you should definitly get it. A nice part is that you start with Wei, Wu, and Shu mode, but beat one and you get Nanman and Lubu Mosou mode. The game has nice, very detailed realistic movies. I just think that everyone should get the game, that's all.

CHANGE 2-PLAYER PLEASE!!!!! |
| Blake from Minnesota, USA says (4/May/2003): |
The game was great except for one thing. They need to allow you to play against a friend on different teams. We need an entire level with a war to fight against each other. They just need to change it so instead of fighting on the same team they fight on different teams. I also think that they should allow you to control your own armies and tell them what to do.
