dw4 rocks on but one thing that sucks is creat-a-player mode the best i got was a Fu Xi look alike with his sword:) im a fan of the series and will always be but the character mode is just wrong, you have to be able to make a character look like a pimp or a warrior, NOW THATS DETAIL!! lubu rocks i have gotten him to be my best character other than zhao yun or my fu xi look alike:) the 10 weapons are sooo coool they look cool and for the most part are about +10 hit points better(power). im gonna show this game to my grandkids and they probably gonna say man those graphics suck, cuz we problabaly going to have holograms or something that day, heck we might have virtual reality dynasty warriors 9,:) thats something i would like to see from koei!!! i got this game the day after it came out and i havent put it down since, i love it so much i read the instruction manual before i go to bed at night!!:) i think this game is worth all 50 dollars i payed for it!! (i think?) when the game slows down and my health bar,k.o.s, and map dissappear i usually get frustrated and say "is my musou full yet"! cuz usually when that happens your surrounded by many enemies!!

Think of this review as an 8.5(which i couldn't give). While D4 is a good game its needs some changes. It is almost exactly alike when compared to D3, which isn't all bad but its not that great either. The worst part was all the map/health dissapperences in 2 player co-op mode. The slowdown can be frustrating but it doesn't effect gameplay much. The series also needs some fresh new options and a much more detailed create a player. While the notion of making your own charactor and kicking but with its is novel, it needs much more variety to be really worth it. While the addition of three new charactors is good there needs to be more. As well as some sort of online/two player game in which the players con be on different armies. On the pro side there are new levels and some are revamped as well as the orbs which are an excellent addition to the items as well as the superb weapon leveling system. The additional musous are good as well but they lack as much detail as the shu,wu,and wei mosous, kinda of like an afterthought. All in all the game is a good buy if you have never played Dynasty warriors before but if you have D3 and liked it I suggest you wait for a price drop because you are essently gettign the same game. Except you die hard fans (me included) who don't mind spending out the fifty as soon as possible. So in the end Gan ning will be victorious.

A while ago, I heard that Dynasty warriors 4 came out, so I saved enough money and bought a little while after it came out. This is the greatest game ever. Graphics are great, the music geat, and everything is great!!! I especially liked the new orbs you can have when you equip items. My favorite so far is Blast orbs. Officer duel is cool, but harder than fighting the general with your army. 2 player co op is much more intense with the beefed up graphics, and sound and stuff. Challenge mode is cool also. If you do not buy this game you are crazy. LONG LIVE WEI!!!

It was a good game but they sould have put more people to play with but I liked it and the graphics is sweet and the horses look more realer then before and the weapons are sweet to the people on their look real and lu bu is hard to fight but I always kill me and all the other people who try to get in my way.

To start, I acually loved the game, I first got addicted to the series with I first played DW2 on a demo then I bought the acual game, then I bought DW3 right when it came out, and of coarse I bought DW4 also when it first came out. Now why I put a 9 was because of the edit mode...if they make a DW5, they should make the edit mode more advanced, more weapons to choose from, more clothes and looks to choose from, and just plain ole more detailed, but otherwise it was a new feature in the series, it just needs alittle work on it. And what I hated the most was the continueous slow motions and the life, map, K.O.'s dissappearing in two player mode, and the levels were to easy to pass, what ive done before was just get on a horse and go right to the main boss in 1:00 flat and beat him, also there needs to be more extensive amounts of enemy soldiers for a more realistic aproach. Now to the best parts about the game, they added 3 new characters to the game, they could of added more, anyways out of the 3, I ecspecially liked Zhao Tai, with his eastern style weapon. I aslo really like the new weapon experience system. And I was thinkin if it would be cool in verses mode that they would make a feature where you are on a normal map with both your own armies and pick what generals you want, the "Influence" feature just doesnt cut it. So thats my reveiw and thats why I gave it a 9 and overall its one of the best games ever made and I hope Koei does these improvements if they make a DW5.

i think it is one of the best dynasty games ever made so far. every character has his or hers own weapon. and they have coool moves.much better than dw3 or dw2. the only thing that sucks is the cheats won't work.now there are over 50 stages and everything looks coooler the graphics are better. and all characters hav 6 different coustumes. except the edited ones

-I have played Dynasty Warriors 4 and believe me, it rocks. The graphics the movies the game play the music the levels, there is no other plastion, Gamecube or Xbox game that can beat it. This game is just one of a kind. So lets just all take a moment and thank Koei for making the best game ever made, and that will ever be made. Well, just till they come out with Dynasty Warriors 5. I'm not saying they are, but if they did, it would be really cool to play. I'm getting Ps2 when summer comes and the first game I'm going to buy is dynasty warriors 4. Along with Kingdom Heart and metal gear solid substance. Anyway, see ya later fans.

I'll admit it,I didn't actually get into DW 'till part 3,and only then because it was on a demo I had purchased.But once I played it I was hooked!Now it's a must buy franchise for me.Wich brings me to part 4.While the improved moves for the charecters is awsome,it seems to me that Koei skimped a little on everything else.There seems to be fog on just about every board...and I HATE FOG!I also feel the create an Officer mode is so shallow its not even worth doing,and you can't even kill huge amounts of mo-fo's!Sure 500 seems like alot,but I need a little more to satisfy my bloodlust.Having said that,I still feel it's a rather fun game,and will continue to purchase any more DW's that come out,I just hope Koei pays attention to the feed back and tweeks it up a couplea notches for the next installment!

This is what I think about this game.It's more fun if you like challenges.It's harder to get power-ups so you don't have to get bored by playing strong charaters and finishing the level so quickly.The movie scenes look more real and also you have 3 more characters.youdon't have to get tired playing with the same old moves.No Offense,but the Koei company should at least get rid of the disappearing life bar,K.O counts and map in their next relaese(DW5 or DW4 Xtreme Legends)because I died once when that happened.The slow motion doesn't make me die but it bothers me.

This game is a major kick in the butt for Xbox because this game tops all of Xbox's games. If you have ever played a role playing/war/upclose fighting game and liked it, hold onto your controller because this game will blow you away with 50+ levels, 30+ Characters ( not counting the ones you can make) 60 + weapons, and about 20 to 25 items to get you stats. This game is a welcome to a new year (without the new year) type game!

DW4 is definietly an imporvement upon DW3 but they did hurt the game too. Pros- Added three more characters. Dueling system is awesome. Levels look cooler and are larger. Leveling up of weapons adds a nice rpg feel to it. Different costumes is a nice touch. The create a officer or bodyguard is an idea they have finally done. The bodyguards seem stronger and more into the fights with you as they level up. Deeper storyline. Switching characters is cool between levels. Additon of seige enignes is a nice touch. Best of all lubu isn't unbeatable. Cons- Levels are too short. Most kills i ever got was like 500. Thats sad compared to DW3 or DW2. The create an officer feature offers little custumizing. Can't mixup the bodyguard units with male and female. Can't make each BG unit something different like you have eight units make 4 of them bowmen, 2 sword, and 2 spear. Same grahics as the previous DW's. my opinion this is solid. A nice edition to the DW franchise but they need to upgrade the graphics and make the create a officer and BG options more diverse. A must-buy for any DW player.

SUMMARY: Although this is the 4th ride for the DW series, there seems to be a little improvement from DW2. Graphics are slightly better, only 3 new officers, and same-old-musics. Although there are more missions (About 17), each battle are super short. It takes about 20-30minutes to beat a mission. Makes only little satisfaction with about 200 to 300 K.Os. But still this is a great game to buy for those who never played DW series. But you know, I was a big fan of this game and this it was a big dissapointment for me. So like I said, this is a LOVE IT OR HATE IT game.
THE GOOD: Over 40 playable players make this game 5% better than DW3. The Duel system make it another 5% better. More deeply explained storyline make it 5% better. Any other improvement: No.
THE BAD: Missions are double sized, characters are super sized, but playing time won`t. Missions are too short, and that makes it frustrating. You can`t feel the same sensation you get after the mission. Edit mode is poorly made,and There are too many bodyguards around.
In order to get the fame back like it did in Dynasty Warriors 2, I expect DW5 need alot of improvement. New story, whole new characters, new stages, and definitly, online vs mode.

I really enjoy playing the Dynasty Warriors series...especially part 4. I love every aspect of the game (history, gameplay, graphics,etc.). I been in love with the three kingdoms since "Destiny of an Emperor" on Nintendo...and that's pretty OG. I had to give it a 9 because I felt that the create an officer mode was a great add on but I would love to make some big fat looking character with some crazy weapons.

Last year DW3 was the most addictive game I ever played. This game is very similiar so therefor I won't waste my precious time playing it for hours. It's is almost predictable for owners of any previous dw's. The game has many new and cool improvements. I thought the create your own warrior really SUCKED-I tried to make a Konan character but could only settle for a cheapie bodyguard looking guy. The bodyguards have longer life spans which are a major plus since in the past they died so easy. Also this time you can choose between 4 groups of body guards. The stages are the same but now you can choose the one's you want within each territory. The moves and characters have always made this game a hit. Some characters are better than they were others are worse. The choose character sucks cus u can only see the characters face and not what they look like. Many of my friends love playing this game with me but we all agree that the 2 player mood makes each character look as if they are far away on the screen and it's hard to judge or see your warrior. Either way this game is just like the other-EITHER TOTAL DOMINATION OR BUTT WHIPPIN depending on who you choose for a warrior-very few stages go back and forth with the fighting-it is usually all one way. Koei needs to shorten the number of soldiers, make the enemy more challenging having more attack moves, and add more battlefield strategy to make this game a 10. still one of the best games every played in my life and I am almost 30!

I have been a diehard fan of the games since number three.
This version could almost be called hypocritical. Sort of that three steps forward and two steps back type of thing. The graphics for one have improved, the officer and bodygaurd edit is a plus but then there is the new weapon system. I mean the weapons are almost the highlight of the games and this one's weapon uprade system is WEAK!! I do however think the biggest improvment is the enlargment of musuo, Vs, and challenge modes.
It rocks being able to play the game from all sides of the story even if the A.I stays in one place untill you engage them. I've heard people say a lot different things about the orbs, some I agree with and others make me laugh. I laugh mainly because some people seem to have sold there soul to this game and that is distubingly funny. Anyway, I stand benevolent towards the orbs. They could be there or not be there, i dont care. The effects the go with the blast, vorpal and lightning orbs are yet simple.
I've already played this game long enough to give a seisure, but seeing as it hasn't, I think I might just play a little more

I think this game rocks but, i agree with other poeple about being able to command the other troops. I loved the 3rd version so i bought this on without renting it and im in love with this one too. Other then that the game is great way better then the 3rd. Other then that also everything else i think is great so keep up the great work. IT ROCKS!

This game is awesome! The graphics are so much better and the music and all of the new features rock. I love all of the new sounds and fighting styles more than ever. but it does have its downfalls. For example: The AI needs alot of working on and you do need to be able to command troops, also the editing sould go into far more detail. But overall I think the creators and designers did a great job, anyways, they can always improve on the next one and there BETTER be a next one! lol.
