This game is pretty good.The cool things like orbs and harnesses
but there are some things that throw it off.The graphics!The DW3
graphics had musou light that actually looked like real light and
the fire was also more easy to see and also the lightning.Also the double musou doesn't do slow motion anymore.I like slow motion!But the new characters are tight!I also like the duels because you can fight an enemy general or officer without interruption from other troops.The new moves are also pretty good.I love the music even though the DW3 had some that were better.And the sounds sound realistic like you are really hurting someone.I like the plot of it being in China and in the Han Dynasty too.The fighting is very good from normal hits to charge combos and also musou attacks.The versus is cool especially the encounter where you fight a friend in the dark.The orbs are the best.Now you don't have to get stuck with one elemental type, but plenty others.The saddles are cool.They help you travel faster on horses and the elephants for rampaging.
You can also look like a real Lu Bu when you put him on a red hare and have his level 7 weapon or higher and that looks really cool in the challenge sequence when it shows you as Lu Bu on a red hare with the real weapon.Overall I say this game is really good and Koei has done a very good job with it.

I loved DW4 (Guan Yu and Lu Bu are kings of all), but some of the voices seem like they are trying too hard (such as the line "God of War, my foot! What's so great about Guan Yu?") and Sun Ce's "pop" is embarrasing to listen to, but the game is truly eye candy. The makers certainly didn't rush this game out the door. Lu Bu seems harder to beat in 4, while he was slightly easier in 3. I also like it that even if you are on easy mode, you can get just enough pts. to be maxed out by the end of the game. If there is one character that they shouldn't have put in this game, it would have to be Zhang He. I never played as him, but all this beauty crap is annoying, and he's frustrating to beat. I think that they should've kept Nu Xi. I will give a word out to everyone, it is that when you are playing as Wu, you can make to Wu tales the Qiao sisters appear by Clearing Wu Musou Mode once, and then in Act I, pick the Yellow Turban Fortress, then The Yellow Turban Rebellion. It should be before either Act II or Act III. And, in my personal opinion, Shu is the best, for all of you out there that are wishing to buy.

I think this is one of the best games of all time because thers so much stuff to do.Deffinately the best dynasty warriors in the series yet.koei did a great job with making this game and added a lot of new things.Ilike Lubu the best because hes straight out the best.But myother really good character is Cao Cao.my friend temo and Ispend like14-15 hours a day playing this game daily.My friend temo's best character is Xu Huang.But his other greatest character is Xiahou Dun.We are some big ass fans of koei so we just wanna say keep on making those crazy ass games.we think you guys have made good games in the past but none as good as this one.we have a ps2 and a memory card,two controllers,a multitap.we hope you make more dynasty warrior games with the style you have it right now on.this game has some funny looking characters like xu zhu cuz his square when hes running is funny cuz it helps him move cuz hes so fat.it is also funny when you look at dong zhuos mole because its so huge and its in the middle of his forehead.you guys have a great game so keep it up,make more of these games and ill buy them all.

First of all I have to say that DW4 may be one of the finest games ever made. I feel in love with DW3 when I first played it and as you can imagine, I loved 4 too, however it does have it's downsides as well as improvements.
Improvements:
1. The duels are amazing, a great idea and big improvement over DW3.
2. Stage progression, more realistic and more fun
3. Orbs - I like this idea of being able to, in part, customise your own weapon.
4. Video. The scenes and short movies in this game are fun and at the same time relevant - another great improvement.
Things I miss:
1. The weapons!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I loved the feeling of anticipation when I picked up a weapon crate in DW3. It might give me a large attack bonus as well as a speed boost. Or maybe it will increase my range and mounted attack. But in DW4 what do you have to look forward to............raising a weapon level. Thats it, no more great finds, or comparing the stats of two weapons as weapons no longer have stats. This is my single largest dissapointment wit DW4
2. Character creation - a waste of time and space on the disc. why not just leave fu xi and nu wa
3. English dubbing - DW3 felt so real as it is based on a real portion of chinese history with characters that looked, felt and SOUNDED chinese. I mean zhou yu - my favourite character now sounds like a fairy and sun ce like a surfer.
4. Bodyguard items - I'm picking now but I kinda liked this feature on DW3, it gave bodyguards another element of individuality.
So as you can see while DW4 has some clear advantages over it's former DW3, it also needs some tweaking. It's a shame KOEI don't combine the good from both games and create the ultimate DW experience......but then DW5 is on the way!
P.s. Do not face lu bu on hardest until your character is fully trainned up - he really is a legend.

When I bought DW3 I thought It was the coolest game ever. Then when I bought DW4 I was very exited. But when I started my first mushou I discovered something horrible! It was in enlish!!I mean, in DW3 you had the option to hear it in either language, but here you have to suck it up and deal with those ugly-a** voice overs. For example, Diao Chan's voice in DW3 was so bueatufyl-like a bird song-but in DW4 she talks like a 50 year old woman.
And it doesn't stop there,every character in DW4 have ridiculusly ugly voices (exceptions--Zhen Ji, Zhuge Liang, and Yue Ying)I play only once in a while now (where when I had DW3, I played it non stop)It's a very big issue, look at Sun Ce--he's now a surfer dude when in DW3 he had such a great voice. Also, they made every character darker in skin tone, Zhou Yu is not recognisable! Zhang He looks not too far from a woman this time. And Pang Tong is as annoying as you can get, (I always let him die in the mushou so I don't have to hear him say "Good for You"
I really think that KOEI needs to give us back their Japanese voices, or at least, make the english voices a lot better. I feel very dissapointed at that. But whait, there's more, they said EVERY character returns to DW4--WRONG!! Fu Xi and Nu Wa were deliberately take OFF from DW4. I am aware you can create them in CAW but it doesn't replace the originals. It's a very direct way of saying "we don't care if they are even there" Plus, why should I have to create them and ocupy two CAW slot--wich there are only three--to make them.
Other than that, there are only a fiew movies from each Dynasty, and that's not to mention the Other's side. ONLY one movie for each--talk about saving money in production--In DW3 XL, the Others side had a lot more.
All in all, what they improved in technicallity and good visuals, they completly neglected in movies, Fu Xi and Nu Wa, and most importantly--their Unbelievably Horrible Voice Overs.

You'll be glad giving approximately $50 to that store clerk. I have to say, THE best game Koei ever made dealing with the 3 kingdom era. Kick ass graphics, crunk music, hard codes, special abilities, and moves that'll be worth wetting your pants over! A solid game that's worth every penny. A guy can go on and on how they love it so!I sure hope they have a Dynasty Warriors 5 with Cheng Pu, Han Dang, Cao Hong, Cao Pi, Man Chong, Ma Su, Ma Dai, He Jin, King Mulu, Zhang Liang, Zhang Bao, and Gou Si in it. And you're a down right retard if you think otherwise!

My and friend and i live off this game. I love it, and i think it is one of the best games ever. The new duel stage is an awsome addtion and i dare say, the graphics are kick ***!! The new costumes for each charcter are the best. When i fisrt rented this game I was hooked. I just couldn't stop playing it. There are new moves, new characters, and totaly different levels to play on. But the sad thing was at the end of the week I had to return the game! So after at least What seemed like a lifetime of playing D4 at my friends house (at least a month and I was still hooked) i finally got Dynasty Warriors 4. Koei has definetly made a great game for PS2. The levels can go a lot faster with the new pick up speed boots. It increases your speed for thirty seconds and when i first grabbed this pick up and i was moving so fast i couldn't believe it. Dynasty Warriors 3 has NOTHING on 4!!!! The longest i have ever, and i mean ever played a game was for over 24 hours without any moving for the game system. While playing Dynasty Warriors 4 i broke my old time and made a new record, 51 hours 23 mins. and 17 seconds. Thatz how freaking obsessed i am with this game.

as i tried DYANSTY WARRIORS 3 and XTREME LEGENS man that was so sweet now i have tried DYANSTY WARRIORS 4 its cool but its kind of hard to get all the charcters but thats fine.the game is cool u can get all the wepons faster and all the other stuff.the graphs are ok the so cool and also i like the music.my best and favouite charcters are mainly the girls but not all of them i only like Da Qiao(MY FAVOURITE)Xiao Qiao,Sun Shaing Xiang,Zein Ji
and Diao Chan.for the boys Jiang Wei(MY FAVOURITE)Ma Chao,Gan Ning and Lu Xun.Oh yeah i forgot to say to the
CREATERS OF DYANSTY WARRIORS............

This is the greatest game i have ever played. the graphics are super. When i first played it i thought 'wow' this is totally cool. I have every over Dynasty warriors game but this one makes the rest look really terrible. I think that the 2 player modes are awesome, i love charging through enemy lines with my younger brother. The only thing i don't like about this game is the voices, some of the things that the characters say are pretty silly. The lifespan on this game is huge, as once you've maxed out one character there is still another 40 odd to do, plus you have items and weapons to max out as well. The music during the battles is good and it makes you want to kill somebody. the game does have a very high fun factor as you can take on enemy soldiers and leave them dead on the floor, which i think is great fun. What i like best is the multiplayer, i love having another player to charge the enemy with you and cut some enemies down to size. The game has improved a lot from Dynasty Warriors 3 as you can now jump off your hose while running and there are new saddles to choose including an elephant. Dynasty Warriors 4 is a great game and is worth every penny you spend on it, and i say if you don't have this game you don't know what your missing.

dynasty warriors 4 is great i have the third one and the 4 my cousin got me addicted to it then i played every single game the sounds are great the gameplay coudve been better but theres no problem with that the fun part about it is hu lao gate and i hated the archers,elephants.the emperial seal is annoying you have to wait along time for it.my personal favorites are ganing,lubu,huan gai,sunce.myfavoritesteed is red hair saddle.thats my oppinion.

this game has lots of characters , heck , i took a looooooooong time playing this exciting game ! i was totaly amazed by their graphics !damn that lu bu , slaying me was what he did best and quickest in the game but at last , after lots of training , i went back to hu lao gate and kicked his dearie little < remove me > at $s so hard , he kissed the moons ! the interactive character creating seection made my day .

This is one of the best games i have ever played. I love that whenever u play it's always new and different. I love duels because they're challenging. The graphics are awesome and the fighting is cool. I like the new make a character thing because there are a ton of different combos you can do. This is a geat game and if i had to choose from this or halo i'd choose this.

This game owns all! With charecters like Lu Xun, Lu Bu, Taichi Ci, Lu Meng, Dian We and my personal Favs...Zhang He and Sun Ce, this game cant lose. Plus to new create a charecter and bodyguards is awsome! And new items! Orbs are awsome! When I play this i feel like im in the game. Like the my title says...Worth every penny!

This game is quite possibly the best combination of an action, strategy and RPG game that has ever existed. The graphics are sweet for such large and numerous levels. The fact that there are over 40 officers keeps this game exciting forever since it would take a LONG time to truly beat the game. Duels add a whole new intensity to conflicts between individual characters and add much more depth to each level than simply going around and killing everyone. The storyline is particularly interesting as it expands from historical fact to numerous "what if"s regarding the fall of the Han dynasty. Not only is there eight completely different campaigns, but also variable endings to most of them. This game is truly addictive and the continuous hunt for hidden and better items is endless. Don't be fooled by the seemingly limited number of characters in the beginning, you will unlock dozens of them within a few hours as well as have to search for hidden ones. There is so much stuff to this game that it is impossible to get everything even by spending hours searching the net. I have only leveled up about half of the characters and I have easily put well over 100 hours into this game. I still have 4 more hidden items to find too! If you buy this game, make sure you aren't going to be busy for the next couple days; you simply can't stop playing this game, especially when you first buy it.

this is another game almost similiar to dynasty warriors 3 except the new chracters and story and other cool moves!!!!!! and not to metion the duel in which lubu is one of the hardest one to beat i suggest try using huang gai if u want to defeat him ^_^... if u want a challenge try using gan ning

I have to say Dynasty Warriors 4 is very impressive compared to the others. I especially enjoyed the new combos and weapon upgrades, yet after playing it for a while seen things in four that displeased me compared to Dynasty Warriors 3. In the third game the I found the levels to be alot more complex and realistic. The ones in four may have better scenerios, but most of them appear gloomy and dull. The history that takes place in the 4th version is twisted around alot more too. For instance, three Sun Jian wasn't around for He Fei because he was dead and the replaced him with Sun Quan. One of the biggest upsets was the fact that they got rid of the Japanese dubbing, i mean for example, does anyone know what Zhao Yun says during his desperate musou attack? Is it like "Back Pack!" or something? Any ways, all in all Dynasty Warriors 4 was worth the buy and I it's gonna be even better when Xtreme Legends 4 comes out.

This game is by far the best in the DW saga. Theres alot more battles in musou and more characters. The gameplay is awsome, the soldiers are harder, the officers are harder, and duel mode ROCKS. This is by far the best game I have ever played. The new weapon System is awsome and the horses are faster, especaily the red hare. I love the orbs and the new harnesses. I also love the officer edit, but it lacked selection, but that doesent matter all that much anyway. The only thing I was mildly dissapointed about was Lu Bu, he was hard, but not hard enough, though if you made him harder it would be ludicrous. Over all, I think this game is by far the best game to ever come into existance!!!!!
