Well with only 3 new charictors, slightly better graphics and a better Level system than the old version of the game (2 or 3) id say it's lacking in the fundimentals of a sequal. it should have had something COMPLETELY unique, not the dull and lacking charictor creation mode.. If ya ask me it's a great game, but if you own Warriors 3, don't bother

It is good i would appreciate a cape like some people but other than that createing people in a war type game like this is pretty awesome.I mean 2 and 3 was fun but 4 blew all games out of the water!War type games with guns stand no chance agaisnt this one in a lifetime game.You are a idiot not to play this.I read other peoples review and i think some where exactly right but others was so off they could throw a rock and end up hittin your head.My favorite people are FU Xi and SUN CE they rock.My favorite over all team is Wu the red team.lets talk more contact me sometime and well talk about this smashing game.

i love this game the characters rule siege weapons destroy and enimes are brutaly efficient bodygaurds are so evil character costumes are cool and items have a new experience system.
if you liked the 1st 2nd and 3rd dynasty with this game youll be blown away.this game can be ever fun.

What more can I say. I myself playing, my wife playing, so do my small kids. The sheer addiction is just way too much for the family. But hold on a sec. That is the real idea. What else would you think is more effective when it come to uniting the family. I simply owe it to Dynasty Warriors and darn I have lesser time to play with another games despite already buying them. Duhhhh.

I played the game, and it rules! First of all, it has the original 39 playable characters. But 3 new characters have been added to the bundle, Cao Ren(Wei), Zhou Tai(Wu) and Yue Ying(Shu). Second, instead of 7-8 levels in Musuo Mode, there are 6 acts, each one with 2-4 levels! Third, new costumes, plus, players can unlock 5 new costumes just by increasing their character's rank, as well as increasing item slots. Fourth, players don't have to find better weapons now. When you beat enemy officers/generals, you gain weapon experience and bodyguard experience. Fifth, there is an Edit Mode, which allows players to create bodyguard units and officers! Cool, eh? And finally(My personal favorite upgrade), new levels have been added, along with challenges, revamped Dynasty Warriors 3(And Xtreme Legends)stages, and multiple Versus Mode choices! My opinion is this is the best Dynasty Warriors game ever!

Dynasty Warriors 4 has to be the best of them all!!!
There is no doubt that all the other Dynasty Warriors episodes were enjoyable, but Dynasty Warriors 4 just tops the list for any game I've ever played, it just puts the icing on the most delicious cake I've ever tasted. Koei really hit the jackpot with this game. My favourite characters are Da Quiao and Zhou Yun. Even the little short trailers are cool. The character costuming is breathtakingly creative and the music really adds that little something extra. I love absolutely everything about this game. It is so awesome i don't think i'll ever get sick of playing it. They should make more games like this!!! this game makes any other game look boring. It's practically impossible to get bored with this game, it's just one of those games where there is always something even better to achieve, whether it be raising every single character on the game, or finding a certain rare item or trying to achieve the 10th level weapon for every character on the game. I would like to personally congradulate Koei on a job well done, and perhaps even suggest they consider making a movie on this game. it would be an excellent film and i know that i certainly will enjoy it. May there be more great dynsty games to come, thanx Koei

Am I the only one? Aren't there anymore females who shares same faszination for DW 4? Anyway, this game is more than awesome and I just can't stop playing. I don't dare to say, that's the best game ever, cause there'll be DW 5 or more. But in this moment I'm out of mind, just because Koei mastered to create a game in order to chinese History. And nobody could do that better! I know it, cause after all I'm chinese, too.

WHO SAID KOE must add some new character?The character in this game all exists long ago...If they add their own character the game wont be fun and real.To reach the 10th level for weapon ,you must find it yourself.This has make the game more interesting because it will be boring if we'll get the ultimate weapon so easily...The dynasty warrior 4 ex.legend has released..so buy it and you will feel the game very well if you enjoyed it and do nat make much COMPLEINT about this game..

Dynasty Warriors in one word is Great!!!!!!!!The graphics could be a pinch better, and yes, the idea of the game is the same.The sound of the game is alot better than DW3, and the gameplay is as always the best.The lifespan is the same as the others, 1 bar for your life, and 1 bar for your mosou, or your power up attack.The fun factor is very good ,no alot better than good, excellent!The orignality is the bestever.The value is worth it,and is sold for $$39.There are mucho grande extras!!!!!!!!!!!!However it will never replace Twisted Metal2, the greatest game in the world.

the gameplay is endless and the graphics are excellent. There is a wide range of characters that you can unlock during the game. You can also train up your characters so they can get better. You can collect items and ride on animals. Ther is an edit screen where you can edit bodyguards and officers.

The best game yet! Still needs to have the amount of enemies and swarming that was in DW3 XL!!! The best challenge is when you can't even see your player. I can't even choose who I like best in this game because they are all more fun with the new added moves and air attacks. I only think they are missing some of the items from XL like beast harness, musou armor. Only major complaint is when the map toggles to show events when it should only appear as a message not the exact location.

This game is just fantastic. I love it, my favorite must be Pang Tong. The new stageīs are just great and the graphic is just to great. In only one word Iīm gonna discrpe this game: GREAT!! But there are on minus: the edit mode, why canīt you have a staff there. You have sword, pike, spear, but no staff. But the two player stages are good. I really hope that Dynasty warriors 5 comes out.

This game by far surpasses what it's hype was for it. I have to admit at first the previews for the game made me think twice about buying the game but under my brothers very sound, and wise advise; I bought the game and played it for the first night...i didn't go to sleep that night and going to work became a task after a couple days of this game. My life started to revolve around it for a good 2 weeks...terrible for my life yes; but a **** good game plain and simple.

I wanted more create options weapons were all right but i wanted a cape like Zhou Ti or Fans like Simi Ye and i wanted to be able to have ranks you know like how if your Lu Bu all the warriors anwser to you i want more of a command mode the main general decides who attacks and more of a storyline better weapon and more characters other than that Dynasty Warriors 4 kicks ass cant wait if they make a next one

This is one of the most fun games I have ever played. I especilly liked the option to create your own character.
I wish the character that you created could have other's weapons...(Like Gan Ning's Rivermaster or Xiahou Dun's Great Sword!) But everything else smoothes the out. Great graphics, great gameplay, great times, everyone.

by the way my frends where so happy of how it came out i was not i mean it has so cool parts to it but i beat it in under 3 weeks its not very good :( but i did have some fun beating some levels but it was at all as cool as my frends where saying this is the first 1 i ever played and if the 123 where as bad i dont even want them. }:(

I bought DW3 after I saw it being played and was instantly addicted to the game. I got DW4 the day it came out and was only a little dissapointed with the game. I understand that changing the storyline from the original in the book would be hard, so I won't bitch about that, but there should be more of the sub-generals added into the face-general group. There are such generals as Cheng Pu,Han Dang,Liao Hua,Zhou Cang,Cao Hong, and Sima Zhao who are in many battles but remain the same. It also might help to have a blood option or a Kessen style control option added to the game. I can't argue with the graphics, but I agree with some other reviews about the possibility of having regiment of one or several types of fighter(maybe formed by you)and the different coloration of the troops of individual generals troops. DW4 had little originality, but that was partly because it could have had more battles without messing with the storyline of the ROTK. THe format of the game might also be changed to have missions within battles or have the map of China connected, allowing you to go around to different battles after getting orders and getiing attacked by bandits along the way or something. That would liven up the storyline and solve the battle problem at the same time. Maybe the possibility of being able to gain something in a battle that would allow you to learn new moves after the battle would help the game appeal to more people.

Dynasty warriors 4 works for me, it is one of the greatest games i have ever played.Compared to the other ones there is no competition there is lots more to do if you enjoy these games i suggest you buy it.I really loved it is one of the best games out i think.

obviously one of the much better games made , it gives players a feeling that they are really in the battle itself, really cool graphics. the character'e and their abilities are limit-less , always able to create new combos.and futhur more you can even create your own warrior.but it could use more projectiles instead of the usual bow and arrows, a must but for all game fans , a really good game . try it out. two thumbs up for KOEI (the maker)
