This is one of the best games ever! I have owned every Dynasty Warriors game since they came out. This is by far the best ever. I really like the edit mode wich allowes you to create charachters and bodyguards. the graphics sounds an storylines are awesome! Any way this game is worth the 50.00 i paid.

the gameplay has improved and the graphics to but the game is really easy (so not like dynasty warriors 3 xtreme legends) i thoughd there was a extra hard mode like in xtreme legends the costumes are beter to and the voices either but it not like i expected i played the most dynasty warriors 2 3 xtreme legends and 4 now but i dont see much improve ment from dynastywarriors 3 to 4 and it is way different i like to search for the weapons and the much items but not i this game to bad :(

It has some pretty levels but u can make it through those man it was like shazam do u want 2 know what 2 do u take your strongets guys and put him on level 1 again ull crush and get points. I was expecting really big things from DY4, given that the third game in the series impressed me a great deal. Overall, I'd say the fourth game delivers. There's a vast improvement in almost every aspect of gameplay.
The graphics have taken a little step up, while the voice acting has improved dramatically (still a couple of turkeys here and there, but it's an improvement over the previous voice actors). The increased number of characters, story modes, and different costumes gives the game a great deal of replay value, as you'll take a long long time to unlock everything there is to get.
Although the AI is still a little ponderous...barely a level goes by where the enemy doesn't have some kind of ambush, trap, or other devious plot to through in your way...so they keep you on your toes well enough. The addition of seige engines adds another dimension, as you're forced to protect them or destroy them in order to advance your troops, or end having to take a harder route to your objective.
The only couple of gripes I have are the duel mode...I liked it at first, but by the end of things it's just not worthwhile. The time limit is far too tight to have any decent type of battle, and you're forced to simply try and rush your way to a win. Without the time limit, it would be much better...that, and since your opponent's power in increased to match your own, they really shouldn't be allowed to regenerate so quickly, making the time limit even worse.
The second gripe is the create mode...given that they were able to make six different outfits for each character, you'd think they'd have a few more 'parts' to create your person from...I've always loved create modes in any game, but this was just a trifle limited, both in character appearance, and in the weapons you could select (only a sword, spear, pike and a greatsword for a male, and rapier for a female). Overall though, it was a very nice touch, and if it's expanded to include a few more body parts in the next instalment, it would be awsome.
These are a couple of very minor blotches in what is, however, a few enjoyable game...I haven't slept for more than a few hours in three days because it's THAT hard to put down. And it looks like I'm in for a long haul yet...if you haven't bought it yet, do. It's well worth the price, and will keep your busy for a very long time.

This is a great game. It involves role playing, real time strategy, and real time fighting, all in one game. It has a great story line that is told from different perspectives. From the start you can choose between 3 "families," the Wei, Wu, and the Shu. After you beat the game you unlock other ways to play the game. Great replay value!!!! The duel mode is great. Designing and watching your own made player is great. Any gamer, not withstanding those who only play sports game, will love this game. It has great cut scenes that aren't too long, which has been the downfall of many games. If you buy or rent one game, give this one a try!!!

dynasty warriors 4 i cool in the way that you can make your own generals but its dumb that you cant add a story to your general and it has changed if you look at dynasty warriors 3 but the AI still is bad (the game is to easy even on hard after a while if you practice enough)and i also wonder how you could change the costumes

This game is the coolest. I think this should be the game of the year. The graphics were totally good. When I saw it ,I was just like WOW.When I first played it I said to myself I'll never get bored of this game and i've never been bored since. The gameplay is really good. I don't think anything can top it. The games sound has always been good.I don't think it will ever get worse.This game is one of the best games i have ever played. It will take a much more interesting game to make me stop playing this one.

truly the best game i have ever played in my life! a cousin had the game and i had a go at the two player mode, it was so cool i had two buy it! the only thing sligtly letting the game down is the story mode - i think it's to short. over all a brillant game. whouldent it be cool if there was a tag game made 4+ players that would be so cool. Koei have done great lets hope we see a Dynasty Warriors 5!

I bought this game so a frend could play,but I liked it so much it hooked in the frist 5 minutes. I have since mastered it in the last 3 months and I must say Lu Bu is the hareder than my friend and he plays more than me.to end I love this game more than I should.

I went to Funcoland to find a good game, and my friend recommended Dynasty Warriors 4. So I got it and it is one of the best games i have ever played! I like Lu Bu because he's an awesome fighter. I cant think of anything I'd change except how the mouths move to the words. I think the plots awesome, the animations, combos, and how your teammates can get killed and fight with you all help out and make this the best game EVER!

This game is almost like the third one but better. It's also a litle harder but its still great! Out of like the 50 games I have this is the best! If you are thinking about getting it and still debating between another game you should definatly get this game! Great Graphics too. Awesome!

I have never played any of the dynasty warriors before so I thought this would be dumb but it is the best game i have ever played! now i have all the dynasty warrior games and I love them!!! the graphics for Dynasty warrors four is so good it is better than anything I have ever seen. the sound is ok but i like the characters my favorite characters are Lubu, Sun Ce, and Liu Bei. this game is probably the best game in the world I love it!!!!!

The graphics, weapons,attacks,and charcter design is great. But, I don't like the way you have to get a horse. I liked that if you gain ranks you might get a horse in the previous one.The features like edit mode and challange mode are great.And there are so many characters to choose from. You will definately find a favourite( Mine is Zhou Tai). And the speacial combos look really cool!Also, I can't belive that I can't find any cheats.I won't take that off the rating because it makes the game more challenging.

Dynasty warriors 4 is the best game ever!(For ps2) It has great graphics I used to play dw3 alot with my friends but when i saw DW4 I got it right away i played like 5 hours a day intil i beat the game i already have every character my current favorites are Lu Bu (Duh!) Zhou yu, Guan yu, Ma chao and Xiao Qiao all with maxed out stats (exept for Xiao Qiao)of course i am still trying to get all the levels and sides on them( Shu, Wu etc.)

After being blown away by Dynasty Warriors 3's major improvement over part 2, I was left very disappointed with this 4th installment to the series. (I'm a girl but I play games with my boyfriend) Sure there are new things to it and all but it's all very similar to part 3. I was expecting a whole new lineup of characters with only a few returning veterans from the older games and a whole new storyline... but instead, Koei gives us another version of how part 3 should have been. The new characters are really just old warriors from part 3 that's been given a new look and added to the main characters lineup. What a bummer! Only one or two new moves? What the hell? No more option available to switch the horrible American voice acting to the better quality Japanese voices with subtitles like in part 3. Well, at least the American voices are a lot better than they were in part 3 (which was a total flop due to horrible acting), but they're still not done very well. If people are paying about $50 for a game, they expect good quality and fun right? Another thing is that many of the old characters are toned down to the point where they just suck. Cao Cao, Zhen Ji, and Guan Yu are perfect examples of this. I don't know why Koei decided to make these characters attack and move slower than they did in part 3. Zhen Ji wasn't even all that good of a warrior in the 3rd part so why mess with her abilities by weakening her? If anything, Lu Bu should have been toned down just a little because he's still super cheap in this game (I hate it when my boyfriend uses him in the versus mode). In fact, it seems like he's even more powerful this time around. I understand that he's suppose to be the mightiest warrior out there but come on... give Zhuge Liang and Sima Yi a chance! These two guys still suck like hell too! It kind of feels like Dynasty Warriors is heading down the same road that Street Fighter 2 did when Capcom made so many damn remixes of that game. Unless if you're new to the series or you're a die hard fan, rent this game first and decide from there.

The Grapics are okay and The music is 10X better than the older version. Also i like creating officers is well and i like the new horses. Also the game is quite complicated but good. May Favourite thing about this game is having a long cooler mousou mode that is quite longer than the old one and the speech is quite different on same looking caracters. THIS GAME RULES ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
