RICER GAME!!!38141

A gamer says (10/Jan/2004):
RICER GAME, this is a game for dumbasses and there hondas get american cars in this game and german, i mean comeon neon, fart cannons side, sidepanels to make your car look lower, this game need mustangs,corvettes,gt40's,porches,mclerinF1's, and so on not these slow ass honda cars. you should be able to do more with the engine and less with the ricer looks on the car list horsepower and torque and bealbe to put your cars to the limit this supercharges and beter turbo chargers and not that retarded nos in real life that is a BIG waste of money for nos verses a turbo or super charger plus steering and handeling in this game arn't realistic as they could be.

Hm.35869

Shaun from Yucca Vally Ca says (22/Nov/2003):
It's got the 2nd gen CRX. That makes it good enough for me. There are many things on this game that make it better then GT3. Example. I hated the fact that you couldn't VISUALLY change your car..Couldn't add ground fx, couldn't add a wing, couldn't even change the colour once you picked one..The parts also weren't licensed. In a way, they were..but say you picked a Honda..You HAD to use Mugen parts..Roll with a Toyota? Had to use TRD parts. It sucked for that reason, as well. AM is also a bit more realistic in a few ways..For example..Throttle responses aren't instant..Shifting doesn't happen as soon as you tap the button..
And yes..I bought it for the REX. GT3 didn't include it, and that angered me. I was impressed. In AM, the CRX has the most potential of any car I've driven. I haven't even beaten the game yet, and with the stage 3 engine rebuild, a racing exhaust, a stage 3 lightening kit, bringing it down to 1800 pounds (About the weight of a First gen.)..I outran my friend's fully raced Skyline R34...I love this game. It may have taken a while to get used to the controls, but once you do, it's every bit as good as GT3. It lacks in some areas where GT3 excelled, such as car and track selection, but in other areas, such as buildability, this game owns over GT3. Hopefully GT4 will take some lessons from this game and N4S Underground.

It's not GT3, but it was never meant compete with GT3 either.35741

losi from Camp Hansen, Okinawa US Marines says (21/Nov/2003):
I think we can all agree to disagree on this game though we can all say that GT3 is still king around the track. Auto Modellista is not a simulator by any means and should not be viewed as such, it's not in the same league, not even the same ballpark as GT3. Discussing the differences with these two games is an exercise in futility, though I will say GT3 had a better car selections hands down. I was awe stricken with the cell shaded graphics and believe me, I was skeptical with this design of graphics after my less than sterling experience with ROBOTECH:BATTLECRY. Auto Modellista's strong point is it's user interaction, the game allows amazing levels of personalization and that I think is very important, specialy during online play.
I have not beat the game yet as I am usually dead tired when I come home from work and I also happen to be playing four other games at this time as well. I'm on level six now but I'm taking my time, though a buddy of mine in my unit beat it in a weekend.
Yes this game is not GT3, but it can defenitly get the monkey off your back until GT4 hits the asphalt.

worth buying33335

matt from michigan, usa says (12/Oct/2003):
the game overall is pretty sweet. The amount of tracks could be increased but being able to race them all forwards and backwards is good enough for me. The cel shading and amazing amount of licensed parts is what made me like it so much. Even if you dont like to race that much customizing the cars is sweet.

YOU GUYS DONT KNOW ANYTHING32806

YOU ALL SUCK from SF, CA says (2/Oct/2003):
well my first question is, how old are you guys? 13, 14? this is a horrible game. you guys talk about it like you have any idea what kind of car you are driving, you think the steering is realistic? the car handles as if the tires turn all the way around. one tap of the controller and you go spinning out of control. besides the fact ive put the horrible gameplay aside and could easily beat any one of you, none of you really know what you are talking about. you all sound like dorks. those who gave this game a rating of over 2 stars, are mentally retarded. not only am i better than all of you at any racing game, especially gran turismo, but i am most likely alot older, and know everything about cars, which it seems none of you know anything about, except for maybe 2 people, not including the guy who claims to have a "german made Porsche", like there is another country that makes porsche. "this game needs ferari's and lambrogini's" wow buddy, you must be like 10 years old. go play some need for speed, the 4th worst racing game of all time. i am pretty shocked to actually stumble across this page and see what idiots you all are, its rediculous. get a life, get a different game, and come play me, so i can destroy you at it. thank you, good night.

good but the maker should of put more time into it......29473

miles from united kingdom ,somerset says (8/Aug/2003):
I think the game is well planned out but the maker should of put more time into it so we could see that some of the game looks like it had been a friday afternoon job. Also the stickers should of been chosen carefully cause nowadays you dont see really nice tuned cars with a pesky little sticker on the side you need it to cover the car.one thing i like about this game is that all the makes are genuine, that these makes actually exist and the bodywork exists. The sound quality is okay on the game exept for that commentator guy he gets on your wick a lot of the time.

Could use less crappy cars and get ferraris and lamborghinis.....28872

A gamer says (29/Jul/2003):
The game is overall excellent. I think that some of the cars a just a waste of space of the game....such as the 100 and less horsepower cars that cant reach 80. I know that you can switch engines BUT you cant soup up the car after that which really blows. The game could have used more powerfull, top of the line cars such as lamborghinis, ferraris, porsches and definately McLarens. All in all the game was well designed but could have been a little longer and tougher.

Nice!28057

Danny from Valley Stream, NY says (18/Jul/2003):
This game is one of the best racing games in my opinion. The graphics are nice and the visual effects are sweet. The cars are outstanding and well detailed. Other than that, my favorite part of the game is the online play. That is where it's all at. Some of the racers are pretty tough but, for non-stop victory, I've got a Skyline tuned up to the max and I'm never afraid to use it. Auto Modellista is Capcom at it's best so far but, I think there really should be a continuation with more real locations besides Japan. Still, it is a great game and I strongly Recommend it to any one who enjoys the thrill of racing.

for 1st online racer i'm happy24349

Dr.Mofo from Nova Scotia Canada says (30/May/2003):
i'm second generation sony fan. and when you look back at the 1st games that came out for PS -n- PS2 this is a giant leap for online racers.yes there is a little to much drift, yes there is the bobsled thing. but everyone has to deal with it and that is why it makes the racing fair. personally i'm a no-wall fan,but thats just me,and i don't have a problem finding racers that will no-wall with me. ::smiles:: 30% of the racers online i probably helped one time or another when they were a newbie. P.S the doctor GT-Omologato

Who cares23782

I like cars from St.Paul, MN, USA says (20/May/2003):
I'm sick of people who say "the driving isn't real, the drifting isn't real" Hmmmm....First of all its not a simulator. It's a capcom game and as we gamers know capcom tries to find different ways to make game plays innovative, ITS AN ARCADE GAME. Who cares if you bouce off walls like its nothing, in some races in the game you cant win unless you bouce off those friendly walls(it's another strategy)Cheat? It works people. It's very cartoon like just look at the graphics. It wouldnt surprise me if there's a way to take off and fly. Last, how many of these people have driven a fully modified car with all the weight mods on it and drift the sucker at more than 40 mph or even drive one. How do you know if it drives right...hm? Try it once. Remember it's a game (not real) Okay...Buy it for fun not anger yourself.

As long as its online, you cant go wrong....23546

Patrick from new jersey says (17/May/2003):
Lets face it,not all will like everything about everything, but this is a good competitive game.I mean,if you dont have to only race "ai" or only computer cars, then its a good thing. You can actually compete against other "live humans",thats what realisms all about. At 1st though you will want to go straight online,DONT DO IT!!!!you will get creamed and start a hatred for the game.Build up your cars 1st.Why do people hate earning their stuff these days?????Its all about cheat codes.Real players earn baby.

...23197

Mike from Reidsville,NC says (10/May/2003):
Dispite ALLL the bad reviews from different websites I still got Auto Modellista. Now you cant compare every !< remove me > at #% game to GT3,The
gameplay is pretty good but most of the people who gave this reviews didnt have an online adaptor..if u have a online adaptor then this is a must....they have tournaments for money , and lots of prizes coming up. Plus when you beat 1 player then go online...1 of my favorite parts of the game is creating the decals you can litterally put ANYTHING you want on the car...i drew all sorts of designs from robots to turds(lol) to even a car...but theres so much more to draw lol. But online is where this REEEALLY shines...you can form racing teams and such also.
So dont compare this to GT3! Its a must buy if u have a online adaptor.

what a disappointment21974

Michael from Antioch, CA USA says (22/Apr/2003):
The game looks beautiful, the cel-shading is unique. Problem is that the cars handle as cartoony as they look. The physics are TOTALLY unrealistic. Gran Turismo 3 set the benchmark for driving physics, and Auto Modellista is waaaayyyy too arcade-like. The only way to get around corners quickly in this game is to drift, but the drifting is frustrating and totally unrealistic. Tunability is minimal. They give you brand names to pick from, such as Endless, HKS, Greddy, etc, but you get the exact same effect. What's cool is the dress-up feature. You can pick from different kinds of hoods, mirrors, body kits, etc.; anything to make your car look more rice-ready. It's a guilty pleasure putting a BAW (big-a**-wing) on a little Miata. Paint jobs are cool too. Exterior customization is cool, engine modifications are so-so, gameplay is waaay to arcadey to satisfy me. I finished the entire game in about 4 hours with an RX-7. Planning on selling it on eBay now, big waste of my money.

Great Game but i've seen better21835

Danny from USA says (20/Apr/2003):
This game is very fun. It has its pros and cons but still worth playing. Maybe first glance you'd think it sucks. But later on you get used to it. Pros are that you can swap engines decorate the car.My fav thing to do is always make the hood black for the carbon fiber look. But you can put stickers and paint it whatever color. Also you can learn many different driving techniques. (inertia drift, grip, powersliding, ect.)Cons are that its way too short. Also they kind of overexagerate the driving. But its almost similar to simulation tires in gran turismo 3. The lack of tracks is also a bad thing and that most tracks are just oval. I like Akagi because it has a relation to initial d. I think they should have more mountain roads to drift on.

luis vanegas from CT, new london 4/19/0321722

luis from new london CT usa says (19/Apr/2003):
i like this game, i don't think is the bomb but its pretty cool, like most of you said it has its up and downs, its ups is the way you can custom your cars, but if you just like to custom cars, buy tokyo extrem racer it has a grater choice, another up is the graphics, they are diff from what we are used to c, also the replays are kinda cool, and off course the best is the online part. now its downs are alot, the drifting suxx, but if you get used to it is not that bad you just have to set up the suspension the tires and for alomst every race, and also you have to do change the setting on your transmision if you want your car to perform its best, another thing that sucks is how short this games is, i beat the game in 6 1/2 hours with the first car i got (CRX Which by the way runs more the most cars in this game i top at 227and its my fav.), i do agrre with most of you that are saying that why put car companies like daihatsu and tommy kaira with out the ZZII, suzuky with out the scudo. if you like racing games buy this games but if you r not into racing games just rent it.

i know cars, i know games, this is a good car game21613

Dlefko from Houston, TX says (18/Apr/2003):
Anyone who knows anything about cars will know that cars like the datsun, crx and others have deserved to be in this game. Cars like accords and what not have not earned the right yet. Having that said this game is very very cool. the swap engine feature is a must, to bad you cant tune in that though. The aesthetic upgrades are tremendous. The downhill courses are also a must for anyone who wants to show skill, which this game does inhibit.
About skill, all who say that this game handles too unrealistic and arcade like, you are wrong. Take your GT3 and set a high perfomance car on simulation tires, then go race, you will see what I mean. I will admitt that the drifting on straitaways ia a little dramatic, but half you thirteen year olds haven't been in a car at 135 mph or taken turns at 85 mph, I would know i drive a german made Porsche.
All in all I would say go buy this game at Gamestop, if you dont like it you can return it within seven days with your reciept for a full refund

GOOD!21548

Liquid snake from Canada, alberta says (17/Apr/2003):
You only hate it cause you suck at it! i own this game and its great! WAY too short though,i beat it in a couple nights, the tuning is sweet but, yes, there is at least a hundred useless cars, this one is definatly a rental, and if you like online racing games then you gotta buy this game. But i also thought capcom was thinking-'Hmmmmm.......gran turismo with cel-shaded graphics! any way seeya!

BODY KITS WINGS AND RIMS OH MY21565

Bam Yonders from arlington , virginia says (17/Apr/2003):
This game is incredible. Its totally got the atvade style to it with the simulation. The grapshics and the gameplay give it the arcade feel. The tuning is intense. For ppl that dont no that much about cars it has the easy tunig for each course. For the car fans u can customly tune your own car. The only things that made lower my score a bit is the drifting. Its fun but a little crazy. And the fact that this game is pretty easy. I would say for u car ppl out there buy this game. If u aint into cars, rent it. You will not regret it.

Very Nice21499

Isaac from Denver, USA says (16/Apr/2003):
what in the world are these people taking about? This game is the bomb. I usually hate racing. i usually hate cars. I thought all racing games were lame and dumb.... I was right until Auto Modellista came out. This is my favorite game currently, and will buy a second one if it comes out. Don't buy tenchu, not midnight racing 2, not dynasty warriors 4, and definately not ZOE second runner. BUY THIS FRIGGIN GAME!!! U wont be disappointed.
