Man this game rocks i love its so much. I rented it 1 day from blockbuster and man i did nothing but play hat game i was so mad when i had to return it i went and bought it from the store. There are a couple bad things like if you dont be the local championdhip you cant go over level five but theres also a bright side to that it makes u get more gladiators and have a whole school of good people not just like 2 Super Awsome people.
My favorite thing to do is treasure hunt and fight wilderness battles. All u have to do is walk along the beach in the morning and hit x and u will search for stuff and u will get attacked sometimes but be careful if u die when ur in a wilderness fight ur gone forever so be careful if u do. If u r wondering who to start with it really doesnt matter u get them all eventually. Valens is who i chose because i would rather have a guy than a girl(just my preferance). but once u have beat eatheir impearial or norgdah u get them once u travel into the other place. Well thats all i have to say. If u are questioning about the game i suggest u rent it before u buy it its not forevery1. BUT IF UR A RPG KINDA GUY/GIRL U MIGHT WANNA HAVE MONEY READY CUZ U WILL BE MAD TO RETURN THE GAME AND U WILL PROBABLY WANNA BUY IT.

I have to agree that this game was awfull at the beginning and it too way too long to get into. I had rented it to play with a friend and spent almost an hour just playing by myself. And everything was so limited as far as moves go until we leveled up. Then the game kicked butt. The more levels you gain, the better stuff you get, the better characters you find, the more you can do and the plot really begins to develop. I could hardly tear myself away from the game to sleep or eat. This is definatly one of my favourtie games now, especially after leveling up all your characters and playing head to head with someone. 2 player game play is the best.

This was not worth the rental fee!!!! I mean to sell this game, you would have to be stoned, or drunk. It was terrible! First of all it takes way too much time to actually become one of the gladiators. Its slow and never gets going. Did i mention the fighting styles! You take turns fighting which is possibly the most moronic idea's ever created, and even then you have to time the attack right or you will do no dmg. I also found it weird how your character has about 50 life, and the enemy of the frist battle has like 80! this game is not worth the trouble!

Every once in a while a game comes along that reminds us of just how innovative some gaming companies can be. Wonderful graphics, innovative battle systems and yet simple enough to jump right into.
However, with this comes a very large obstacle, difficulty, Whether you start Ursula or Valen's quest you'll still find yourself staring down the barrel of defeat quite a few times, you see as in Ff8 your enemies will level roughly around when you do, but unlike ff8 it's not a "don't level up at all" scenario, some battles can be fought at the lowest of level and still be won but you might find that that one skill you could get at the next level will save your life.
Gladius isn't a game for everyone, and while it's fun and simple enough there will be a lot of frustration soon to follow.
