Best Baseball Game Ever Made |
| Frank from Staten Island, NY says (29/Jun/2003): |
This game is the best baseball game ever made. First I'm gonna get to the Franchise Mode which I love the most. This franchise mode is the most in dept franchise ever. Packed with 30 seasons you can sign contracts, trade players, drop and add people from/to the minors, check out the league news, get trophies, and even set some all-time records. I haven't even got to the off-season, but the draft looks hot. I think discussing the people who are leaving in winter break is so realistic. The franchise mode is the best. I also like scenario mode. How you could change history with the touch of the X button or moving the analog stick. This game is the greatest baseball game ever and I don't know how anyone is gonna try and top it.

amazing |
| Sebastian from Palisades Park NJ says (29/Jun/2003): |
personally, i think this game is amazing For all you people that say the batting is too hard, i dont think you are really ttrying. EIther that or you dont have any hand eye coordination
I dont think the graphics are too bad, but they are pretty good.
The best part of theis game is that it is fun. There is nothing like the feeling of being down by 3 in the bottom of the 9th and hitting a walk off grand slam.
This game is also challenging. You'll find pitchers getting hits off you ervry once in a while. Think your closing in on that perfect game or no-hitter and in the bottom of the ninth the picther gets a hit. It has happened to me
I give it a nine because sometimes it freezes, and they should have better camera angles Other then that, this game is great

This game is the best availble baseball game there is! |
| Chris Gasper from Orland Hills, Illinois USA says (26/Jun/2003): |
Everything that you can imagine is in this game. The franchise has every option that you can want from arbitration to the rule-5 draft. It not only is fun to play but really teaches you about the game and after you take over a team, you actually get the feeling that you are the general manager of a real team. By All-Star break, my power hitters had 25 and 23 homeruns, so those who say that their power hitters can't hit 10, keep practicing. The only thing I can say if you don't beleive me is rent the game, Thats what I did.

Become a part of the game! |
| Tom from Reno, Nevada says (19/Jun/2003): |
Ever wanted to feel what it is like to manage and operate a major league baseball game? This is the game that can really take you there. A full 162 game season can really be grueling and really drag on if you are in first place in your division by 10 games but the easy to use calendar and game simulator can simulate the games you aren't interested in playing. If you can't figure out how to hit in this game, you haven't devoted enough time to it or you have a slow eye. I have faced 90mph fastballs in real life and this game is so realistic. I started a franchise and during the spring training I had the difficulty set to rookie. I hit the hell out of the ball averaging 15 runs a game. At the beginning of the season I played the frist 5 games on the medium setting, Veteran, and was still killing the ball and hitting homeruns all over the place. I then moved the setting to hard, All-Star, and that was just the perfect setting for me. Most of my stats were close to what happens in real life. My RBI's, HR, and AVG were a little exaggerated with a few players, 60, 140, .378 respectively, but over all I could count on scoring 3-12 runs a game and sometimes being shut out by a really good pitcher. This makes for really life-like gameplay. It makes it really fun when it is a close game and you are forced to used pinch hitters, pinch runners, and specialist pitchers. The funnest games to play are the ones where it is a close game in the late innings and you are really into every pitch. It is a great feeling to bring in your closer in the 9th inning with a one run lead and have him mow down the side to save the game. This game is just awesome. The number of pitches that a pitcher can throw is limited to 5 (most have 4 or 3) but the number of different kinds of pitches available is over 20. Fastball, Curve, all the regulars, and even a Knuckle Curve, Spitball, Ephus, Slurve, Palmball, and many others. Another great feature of the pitching mode is the fact that the pitcher changes velocity on his fastball depending on the situation. If you have 2 strikes on a batter and you are going for the strike out with a fastball, the pitcher will rear back and really let it loose. Troy Percival sometimes throws up to 101 in that situation when his fast ball on first on no strike pitches is more like 90-96. Anyway, this is a great game. I love playing it. The best baseball game that I have played thus far. If anyone complains that hitting is too hard, they just have to keep at it and think about what pitch might be next. You have to act like a Major Leaguer and think about what the pitcher is throwing to you. (The Pitch history page on your managers box helps you to figure out what the pitcher is going to do.)

An Ok Baseball Game |
| A gamer from New Orleans, LA USA says (12/Jun/2003): |
This Game is pretty good but I wont rate in a a high. It has sorry graphics and to me. I love the game but I dont like games that you have to read the book for and you have to read the book. Its fun and its alsome but bad graphics.

Great, Great Baseball game!!! |
| ASB'04 pro from Boca Raton, USA says (5/Jun/2003): |
All Star Baseball 2004 is probably the best baseball game ever. The graphics are totally amazing and the sound is great. I gave it a nine because the game sometimes freezes and if you trade someone onto your team, they might not be there. But, the Expansion mode is greatest part in my mind. You create your own team, draft your own players, etc...Or you can play as your favorite team in Franchise mode. You can keep the players on the team or draft your own in player draft. The player cards are pretty cool. You can unlock people, stadiums, teams, etc... I dont like the Scenario mode that much but, if you win you get more cards.

This is an excelent game |
| A winters tale from Edison,Nj,Usa says (26/May/2003): |
I think asb2004 is the most realistic baseball game out now and has the best graphics. The only thing i say that is bad is the batting stances ive seen better ones for players such as barry bonds or david justice but other than that the games great.Hitting is hard in the begging i admitt but you get used to it..Ive read reviews were people say world series basebl is better...thats a bunch of crap because that game i coudl play with one finger..its way to easy..i love the franchise mode in this game as a matter of fact im going to play it right now.

The best game on earth?? |
| Robert Spence from Port Arhtur, Texas PIMP city says (12/May/2003): |
This is a one of a kind game. I like the hitting style , i got it on vertan and my team is the cubs. I trade for jenkins and sexton and my lineup is deadly. Bellhorn, Sosa, Sexson, and Jenkins. I got a good pitching staff woods, clement, prior, zambranao, and estes. Everyone is sayingthe hitting is hard i think it is great. This makes the agem great i think my team is record is 23-11 and Sosa leads the leads in homers with 23. I thought the game was very hard to hit with to at first but if you move the cursor to the ottom of your strike zone and as the pitch is pitched just you have to do is my the cursor up and to the left adn right just to match up it is har at first but you will get it down sooner or later and you will be sayig this is the best game that is avaiable after you get it. I hate MVP because it just to unrealistic in baseball. There is only one baseball game i will play and it is ASB 2004.

Even Babe Ruth couldn't hit on this game |
| Matt from Hickory, NC, USA says (11/May/2003): |
This game has some advantages, but hitting is impossible. Even though I love the franchise mode, how are you sopposed to run a franchise if your power hitter is cant even knock 10 out of the park. ASB 2005 should focus on hitting and not so much on the franchise mode. If you think this game has a good franchise mode, try out MVP 2003. That is the best baseball game out right now.

Greatest Baseball Game Ever |
| A gamer from Atlanta, GA USA says (11/May/2003): |
Allstar Baseball 2004 is by far the best baseball game I have ever played. I like the game because of the old fashion it has, the scenario mode, and the franchise mode. I don not like how the game sometimes freezes and there was this time that I made a trade and one of the two players that I had received was gone. I mean gone completely off the game. He was nowhere to be found. I also dislike how everyone who plays this game complains about how the hitting is hard. Yes, the hitting may be a little difficult, but a real gamer like myself likes a challenge. If you do not like how the game is, do not buy it or if you do not like the hitting, just go to the options menu and put it on easy batting. This is the most realistic baseball game and the overall best baseball game that I have ever played by far. This is why I give Allstar Baseball 2004 a 9 score. (I am now just typing to get my letter posted because I want to reach the requirement of the two hundred word mark. Did I mention that Allstar Baseball 2004 is the greatest baseball game ever and that is a fact.

this game is alright |
| Matt from Champaign IL says (9/May/2003): |
I played this game and I have to say that it is not the best game i've ever played. To begin with, the hitting is way too difficult. There is not enough time to move the cursor to where the ball is pitched. There was also the over sensitive nature of the umpire. After throwing at a batter you were initially warned. If you hit another batter or threw it a little too far inside, then you were thrown out of the game. I also think it is way to easy to bunt for a basehit. All you need is a fast batter and you can get on almost everytime while playing 2 players. Another problem i encountered was the occasional foul ball outs. There were times when i fouled a ball back to the backstop and the next thing i know I have a new batter hitting. They just called me out on a foul ball that was not caught. The graphics of the game were good, but overall i think this game was not as great as i would have thought. mvp baseball 2003 was tons more fun than this game.

Great Baseball Game |
| Tim from Ashburn, Virginia says (6/May/2003): |
In my opinion ASB 2004 is thebest baseball game out. Acclaim did a great job because the gameplay is great along with the graphics. The franchise and expansion mode is my favorite part of this game. It puts you in complete control of your lineup, roster, and what goes on with your team. Also,Here's a hint to players having a problem hitting the ball. Pause the game and go to the options menu and change the batting interface to easy. Now all you have to do is swing at the correct time. If you've been waiting for a great baseball game, Acclaim has achived that with ASB 2004. GO RED SOX!!! Hey we're gonna win a World Series.......Eventually.....I hope

Its an ok game, but i have some problems with it. |
| Shoog Nite from Washington, USA says (27/Apr/2003): |
Ok, Take Alex Rodriguez. Turn on your system and and play franchise as the texas Rangers. Then go and simulate all 162 games, then go see what A Rod's Stats are for that season, I Gaurantee that the majority of the time he will hit around 258 and hit 43 homeruns. And anyone who knows baseball knows that Alex Rodriguez will never hit a career low of 258. Yes the game is realistic but, correct me if i'm wrong but first i dont think you need hand eye cordination when playing this game(Steve) unless ur retarded and actually think your playing in a real game. maybe some people like winning game cause ur favorite player hit 5 hopmeruns in a game. I would love to see Sammy Sosa hit 74 homeruns in a season. I can make that possible in these games. This game is just irritating. But its good, dont get me wrong, i like it realistic.

best baseball game ever!!! |
| Ryan Faulkner from pine bush,ny says (26/Apr/2003): |
asb 2004 is the best baseball i've played in a long time the graphics are great and gameplay is great.the game is very realistic and the extra features are great.i like how they used the player cards so you can get cheats or throw back jerseys.i think every baseball fan should get this.
|
the game is great |
| nick robert from massuchusetts says (18/Apr/2003): |
for all the people that say it is to hard to hit try doin what i do i pause the game go to options then go to player options then the first category switch it to zone and u dont have to use the cursor u just have to swing at the right time and at the right pitch. i really like the franchise mode and the scnerio mode is so phat so i dont know how u can go wrong wit this game. so i would rent it first then buy it right away. RED SOX SUCK
|
this game sucks balls |
| A gamer says (17/Apr/2003): |
u cant exit the game when ur in the middle of it. Its impossible to hit the ball. theres no way to make the game easier or make batting easier. when ur hitting u see where the ball is 1/2 second before it crosses the plate.u cant move the cursor to where the ball is going. there is no strike zone. this game sux big hairy nuts a good game world series baseball 2k3

Real Baseball |
| Jason from CA says (16/Apr/2003): |
The people at Acclaim really know their baseball. I'm so happy that a game is out that simulates real baseball instead of home run derby! The AI of the opposing manager is great and they've made some great improvements, such as the computer now takes the out at first base on a sac bunt rather than trying for the lead runner every time.
There are a few annoyances however,
1. you can score a run with the squeeze play every time.
2. when playing the all star teams or old timers players should be wearing their teams uniforms, they don't
3. i love the throwback jersey feature, but you can't use it in franchise mode, which is lame.
4. the instant replay mode doesn't have a high camera angle to get a look at long home runs.
it would be great if these things were fixed in future editions, but as far as realism for true baseball fans you can't beat this game!
|
its so hard to hit |
| jaosn from downingtown, pa, usa says (14/Apr/2003): |
This game is better then the other ones. The graphics are great and i love all the things you can do as manager. The only think i don't like about this game is that it is so hard to hit the ball. They always pop up for outs or ground outs. I put the game on all star and then easy batting but it is still hard. Are there any ways to fix this problem or make hitting a little easier. Also are there any cheats to get all the good players you want in a draft. That would be sweet.
