Very disappointing |
| Alex Kessler from Chicago, USA says (13/Nov/2003): |
I was excited to play this game ever since I heard about it last spring. People were saying it was going to be better than GTA3 or GTAVC, but its not even close. The total freedom to wonder the city I was expecting wasn't at all what I had hoped, you do get to roam the city, but you need to be very careful not to lower your good cop rating (if you want to make the game last for more than 2 hours) the gameplay was just about as linear as it can get and there were only about 7 different cars roaming the streets. The missions werent nonlinear at all, and you often progress directly into the next. The "street crimes" were very repititive and the camera views during fights could be very frustrating at times. All in all, this game is just your average shooter, and if you are desperate to play it I suggest renting it because it only took about 4 days to beat it 100%

ok.. but could b better |
| A gamer from Orlando,USA says (11/Nov/2003): |
i think this game is really good in a lot of ways but i cant stand the driving!! its too loose so it takes a while to get used to.. but the gameplay the missions and the overall graphics are great.. one more bad thing i dont like is bein a damn cop! lol i was lookin forward to b shootin people and getting chased by the cops but o well... umm.. i dont exactly like the weapon choice either.. theres not enough weapons and you cant hold a lot like in grand theft auto so u just have to kill the people with what you have.. i would recommend this game to anyone who likes to kill!

Crime makes the perfect game. |
| Kevin Linsteadt from Concord, North Carolina, USA says (10/Nov/2003): |
Dear Gamers,
You all should get this game. It is totally realistic and is the perfect action/shooter game for your needs. Lots of crimes, fighting, shooting, drug dealing, mugging and much much more! You must buy this game. If you all love GTA 3 or Vice City, then you all are gonna absolutely love this game. Its a game that I would just die for to get. If you're a hardcore gamer who just loves action and not all those boring racing and kiddy adventure games, then get this one. Its already out in a store near you, so what are ya waitin for? Go and grab yourself a copy of True Crime: Streets of LA and play it! True Crime. True Fighting. True Shooting. True Fun!

This game rocks! |
| Joshua Bobo from Pearland USA says (9/Nov/2003): |
This game is definitely the best game activision has made so far. However, I think GTA:Vice City is better because on GTA, you're a criminal, and you can do whatever you want without it affecting your progress in the game. But on True Crime, if you kill too many civilians, you will become a "Bad Cop" and it will affect your gameplay and possibly your ending. But when it comes to the action, True Crime is definitely better. Not only do you get to wield two guns at once, but you also get to shoot in a slow motion dive.THAT ROCKS!! However, because of this, I would say that True Crime is more related to Max Payne, more than GTA.

Its a Great Game |
| A gamer from Quebec, Canada says (9/Nov/2003): |
True Crime is said to be better than GTA but I would consider it to be about the same. They're both very fun and exciting. Although, True Crime has much better graphics. The storyline is also very fun and the map of LA is very realistic. It seems very similar to the real map. Since the map is so big, it can get somewhat comfusing. Overall, I would consider this game a "must have."

GTA: Still King |
| David from Cleveland, OH, USA says (9/Nov/2003): |
I bought into the hype, this was to be the game that ripped GTA out of my system, so I dropped a cool fifty and started gamin.
For a while, I was a believer, even an advocate, readily telephoning those I know to sing the graces of my new found world, but, sadly after just a few short hours, roaming the streets of LA, I was left feeling hopeless, heading back to south FL.
Where did it go wrong? What demons (or fire breathing dragons?) haunt this poor town? Perhaps my camera man was drinkin, or maybe my new magical gun that never runs out of bullets just weighted me down. Perhaps it was the fact that I could not read my map. It was just too big for the small part of LA I needed to see.
Being good wasn't all it was cracked up to be.
Oh well, I guess I just need to stay on my side of the law, so long SO-CAL, my yacht awaits my return.

Not one of the best games i've played. The Best!!!!! |
| Mikiij from West Mids - England says (8/Nov/2003): |
Well what can i say Nick Kang is the coolest gaming character of them all. Tommy Vercetti, hasn't got $#< remove me > at ! on this guy. Enjoyed every second of the game, and kinda know my way round LA now. The soundtrack is superb, all seem to have been taken from my personal record selection, basically couldn't have been better if i did it.
Come on, now we need true crime, streets of NY, with some Hot 97 up on the sound system. Peace out!

Action packed fighting, shooting and driving game!!! |
| JPS from Tahlequah, Oklahoma, USA says (8/Nov/2003): |
True Crime Streets of LA is one of the best games I've ever played. It takes everything you like from your fighting, shooting and driving games and mixes it all into one action pack addictive thriller. You move your way through the dirty streets and alleyways of LA taking on muggers, fighters, gang members, and even car jackers. If you love GTA but yearn for the badge then pick up a copy of True Crime Streets of LA.

Great Game But It Could Be Better |
| odalis "nemesis" bostic from Reading, Massachusettes says (6/Nov/2003): |
I would like to start of by saying that this is a wonderfully made game. It has great graphics and its just a fun game. It is a great cross between "The Getaway" and "GTA 3". The game has somewhat of a great storyline, which is very important in a game. The only thing that I didnt like about the game was that things seemed to slow down at times. It's like I was in the middle of a "Die Hard" movie and then I go straight into Father Goose. (Nevermind That. In the end, The game has a stable storyline with great graphics. But at times I was just too bored to wanna keep playing. I give this this geame 8 out of 10. Its a great game but it could be better.

Bad rip off of GTA |
| Pules from Fort Lauderdale says (5/Nov/2003): |
This game is a bad copy of GTA and Dead to Rights. It's like playing the two games at the same time but has none of their good features. The large map is cool but it is way to big. It takes 10 minutes to drive across time. I finished the game in two sitting. That sucks I want to play for weeks like GTA. The soundtrack sucks and your weapon selection is very limited. Who wants to be the good guy? That is a horrible idea!! I want to get bonus points for running over civilians not deducted. It does have some cool features like flashing your badge to get people to surrended and the warning shoot button is cool. The cast of characters is great but wasted. Christopher Walkin should be in it more and Michelle Rodreguiez is no Jenna Jameson. It is a great rental but save your $60 you can do everything it has to offer in the 5 days Blockbuster gives you.

As good as GTA, if not better |
| EIDROEDYR from Detroit, Michigan USA says (4/Nov/2003): |
This game is not hype, it is definitely as good as Grand Theft Auto. Actually, I think it is better because the story line has 3 different endings depending on the missions you choose or not choose to complete. Unlike GTA, your not stuck with completing specific missions needed to progress the game. Also, the hand-to-hand combat is sweeeeet!! You can upgrade your driving skills, weaponry skills, and fighting skills all in the same game. In addition, the cops as well as the citizens of LA can turn on you if you become one bad cop. The graphics are more realistic than GTA and the overall gameplay provides endless hours of gameplay and replayability. I never thought there would be anything as good as GTA until True Crime came along. Rockstar definitely have to up their game for the next title in the GTA series.

great game |
| A gamer from Verona, USA says (4/Nov/2003): |
This is a great game. I just got it today and it is much more realistic than the Grand Theft Auto Games. The graphics are better, the driving and shooting has a lot more depth to it. After you beat the game you're able to make upgrades on your cars and participate in streets races. Bigger and better than Vice City. Worth the wait and the money, everyone should buy this game.

Rival of GTA |
| B-Minus from Maryland USA says (4/Nov/2003): |
I think this game is another XBox classic like Dead to Rights.Nick Kang is just as much of a loose cannon as Tommy Vercetti but still the two games or totally opposite. If these two men went at it, cop vs criminal, i dont know who would win.I tell you what, GTA has met its match.I just bought this game today and ive beaten both GTA3 and Vice City and this game gets my vote.Im not to fond of law enforcement but my favorite thing about this game is frisking people and locking up.Second best thing I like is stealing cars and not getting in trouble...hold on dont let me forget the huge map of LA.I like it all...I just got done playing since I turn it on for the first time when i brung it home...that was at like 1:30.I would recomend it to everybody.

WOW get ready |
| Dan from England says (1/Nov/2003): |
this game is going to be the BOMB! ove a week untill it comes out and already reserved copies are going through the roof.
This game is a mix betweek GTA and Max Payne with over 250 acres of real LA streets, Anyone who knows a good game will get this it is going to be bigger than any other realistic crime game yet. It has a range of cars from family sedans to huge tricked out street racing cars ( fast and the furious style ), all the streets are real la streets and all the attractions of la will be included, you can cruise around with the top down, the wind blowing and ignore the missions or wait for the missions to be announced on your radio and head off to interfere with the violence. K.O your enemys with kung-fu style moves or just blow the SH1T outta them with some mean-ass guns.
Whatever your taste this game has something for you, SO WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR...... Go pre-order your copy, i did three weeks ago!

dont be mad @me. |
| Goat from Eastport,NY says (26/Sep/2003): |
Dear gamers if you love GTA vice city you might like this game. from what i hear it's supposed to be even more Graphically realistic, then most GTA series. Some say that true crime:is action packed, very realistic, discriptive and informative. i rated this game a 10,because in felt like i was really in the streets of La shooting and arresting people. my personal opinion is if you like games where you can do whatever the fvck you want and not be limited to the scenario of the game then grab your badge, strap your vest on and get ready to do some goop anihalation to the dirty communist's.

Great Game Play!! |
| Justin C. from Los Angeles, Ca says (20/Sep/2003): |
One of the best games iv'e ever played!!! I got the demo in my Playstation underground magazine. the demo gives you a taste in what the game will be like. If you live in L.A. or know something about Los Angeles then you will get the scenery such as Pershing Square and Union station. Graphics are amazing and I have already reserved my copy with the free bonus DVD. The game is equivilent to the Grand theft Auto series and has that same sort of feel to it. Grand Theft Auto just dosen't compare to this game in size really. I mean Los Angeles is a reall hard city to make. Let alone Downtown Los Angeles. Im am not sure if there is public transit but every time you pass a street by you will see the street name displayed on the top of the screen. The street you are on will appear grayish under the cross-street. I am a very "hardcore" gamer i put in seven plus hours of gameplay each day with other friends,i hate the word hardcore!!! Anyway reserve you copy now this game will sell fast. Grat graphics and the gameplay is really nice. check it Out!
