its a really good game |
| josh from South Carolina, USA says (9/Apr/2007): |
this game is really good, expectally if you like seeing hot women fighting!!!! thats one of my favorite things about the game, but i also liked the whole dress sphere thing cause i like to have a challenge and this game gives you one, no matter how good you say you are. i also think the graphics were good, expectally the cut scenes cause my TV usually messes up the way it looks and i could still see the way it looked! i could do without some of the sounds cause it does get annoying to hear the same thing over, and over, and over, and over. the game its self was good because i dont have a guide so i have to keep looking for secrets. the other thing i dont like is that the dress spheres have different life points, but i also think of this as a advantage because of the glitch that if you change into a white mage, your life will be fully healed and then you just change back into the dress sphere that you were in before and you will be completely healed!!!!! i still dont know why that just didnt make this final fantasy 11 because it might have the same people that final fantasy 10 had, but its not the same. the last thing i like about this game is the new game+. the reason i like this is because i look every where on the final fantasy games and i dont like to try and find the same thing over when i know its almost impossible to find, like some glitchs or certain items that i dont fill like trying to find again, so if you dont like the new game+, then DONT USE IT, its as simple as that. you shouldnt say "i dont like the new game+ because of", if you dont like it, then dont use it!

FFX-2 is actually a really good game |
| Kit De Luca from USA says (11/Jul/2004): |
Okay,in my opinion I loved this game! (Even though I'm a girl) A lot of guys didn't like FFX-2 because they said it's a "Charlie's Angels rip-off."
I got my boyfriend into FFX and he really liked it! But then,he got FFX-2 and I rented it. He said that it was really gay and he wouldn't play it anymore because Yuna didn't find Tidus in the end. Well, if you played it right you would know that Yuna DOES find Tidus in the end. (You have to play it through a few times to get different endings)
I've only played it once and I already know that I'm going to buy it. I highly, highly, highly reccomend EVERYONE to play this game,it is awesome! The graphics are amazing, the battle style is challenging,I love the story. Finally, an FF game that doesn't just have tiny little tidbits of romance! This IS a romance game! I know,I know, romance doesn't really appeal to most guys. (I'm saying most NOT all. There are some guys out there who like romance and we girls love you for it!!!)
I love how Yuna does the concert, the graphics for that was just beautiful. The lyrics really were awesome!! I kept watching that movie sphere over and over and over I liked it so much! I admit that I cried at the end of FFX AND I cried at the end of FFX-2,because I really wanted Yuna to find Tidus so that they could be together. (I've heard about this "perfect ending" though,so I'm working towards that)
Well, that's about all I have to say about this game other than the fact that anyone who thinks this game is stupid or gay or anything like that needs a reality check! This is an AMAZING game!

an ff game for girls...oh yeah its also an ff game for losers.....way too easy..... |
| Cloud Strife from Toronto Canada says (7/Dec/2003): |
ff10-2 is pretty girly-thats not the bad part.its a good game you people, but its WAY TOO EASY...easier than 8...when i got it i thought "wow...nice opening...nice graphics too..."but when i played it i thought"dont worry.this is just the beginning...the beginning is always easy...like ff7(7 is my favourite game though)"but when i got into chapter 2 i kept thinking how come its still so easy...?"then i thought that when i fought bahamut id get stuck and stop playing 10-2...but,again i was wrong....bahamut was easier than fighting a bunch of weak enemies with an endless kotr chain in ff7....then when i got to the part when you fight the leblanc syndicate the last time... i hoped i would get kicked in the a*s...but no....i beat them easily....now lets get on to the main thing.ff10-2 is a great game, but its way too easy.because i gave this game a 7 out of 10 you might think that this game sucks...its not that, its just that its too easy.i might have given it a 8 or a 9 if it were harder.it has great graphics, okay music,a great battle system,a lot of stories(theres multiple endings),good characters and....well a terrible diffuculty level.id give the graphics a 9 the music a 6,the battle system a 9,the story/stories a 9 the characters an 8 and the diffuculty...well you guessed it,a 1.the fact that the sphere grid is gone(i hated it)is something that you either love or hate.i like the fact that there are jobs and again, its something that you either love or hate.well,i guess thats all that i have to say.

Its simply THE game to play. RPG fans will dwell in its greatness for years to come... |
| Rob from S-Yorkshire, England says (19/May/2004): |
Final Fantasy X-2 swept across the world on a silver curtain. Ever since it hit the shops I wanted to buy it, mainly because I played FFX. Its the greatest (and first) sequel to storm the FINAL FANTASY series and is the most impressive game I have EVER come across. Not only are the graphics like watching a pure bred DVD... but the sound consumption and the way they compare to each other is strictly amazing. No other game could compare to the wonder that Final Fantasy X-2 is. Ever since playing Final Fantasy (The first) - I was hooked on it. The came FF2 and so on. When FF7 hit the Play-Station... I couldnt leave my bed until it was finished. Now... 14 years and 12 productions later... From FINAL FANTASY right through to FINAL FANTASY X-2, I still remain amazed at the progress in graphical enhancements, sound upgrades and motion sequels. No other game could ever rival FFX-2...
The story line is all based on Final Fantasy X - Yuna is destined to find Tidus through searching for Spheres found all over Spira... it all started when Yuna saw a sphere from Rikku of a man caged in, who looks JUST like Tidus. Later they find that this guy is actually called "SHUYIN" - the lover of "LENNE". Yuna is now involved somehow to these two individuals from the past by a "DRESS SPHERE" ("Songstress") that belonged to LENNE over a thousand years ago. Now, the tale that is FFX-2 is revolved around SHUYIN AND LENNE & YUNA AND TIDUS' ordeal od searching for eachother.
If you aint got FFX-2, buy it.

the gretest sequel ever |
| nathan mccomb from hebron,usa says (2/Aug/2006): |
final fantasyX-2 is the best sequel game ever.i had a lot of fun playing it.the grapics are amazing, and a big improvment from ffx.the music is just as good as ffx,and the mission based gameplay is an awesome reason to buy the game.i also thoought that the way they used real time gameplay was great.something we havent seen for a while.i thought the fun factor was off the chart.i got final fantasyX-2 a couple of mounths ago and i am still playing it activly.although i am a huge fan of ffx with 350+hours played x-2 is still a big step up from ffx.the way square enix keeps coming out with more great games is just amazing.i must also say that a good reason to buy the game is that right now u can get it for 19.99 or less.i think that is an awesome offer for a game that good.any body who liked the first final fantasyX will surely love the non-stop action of final fantasyX-2.it can keep you playing for hours and hours to come.it is so good it will keep you up all night playing.just to get to the next chapter to see what will happen next.i also thought the rivalries like the ones against leblanc where better than in final fantasyX like the ones against seymour.even though it did not have the usual turn based strategy it is a great game and i think anybody who is a fan of the final fantasy series will instantly love this game when they pop it in their ps2.that about wraps it up.have fun with the game and many thanks to square enix for making great games and i hope there are more to come.

Great Game |
| Stephanie from Pana, Illinois, USA says (27/Mar/2006): |
I honestly thought the game was stupid when my husband started playing it, but then he got me playing FFX and after really getting in to that story I had to play FFX-2. Common you have to find out what happened to Yunie and Tidus and I knew the sequel would have him in it. I cried when a baby when Tidus left Yunie in X and I also cried in X-2 because it is about Yuna finding herself and trying to move on without the love her life. At first I did not like having to learn how to do the dresspheres and accessories because X was the first game i played and i had just mastered the sphere grid and learned that style of fighting. But hey i guess it wouldn't be a challenge if everything was easy or the same. I do like it now I am at about 91% and for everyone who wants to buy the game or can't get a 100%, buy the damn book, i'm sorry but you can not possibly do all the missions and everything else you need with out this book!!! It tells you exactly how to get 100% and explains a lot of the story esp for those who have not played FFX and explains your abilitys and dresses and all the good stuff. Like i said this is a great game. I am sick of reading how everyone is annoyed about the Aeons new flash we killed them in FFX and this is the sequal duh!! Also about Auron he was sent in FFX. I think it is cool only playing 3 people, it gives you a chance to learn that person better adn is easier then switching people during battle.

final fantasy x2 (or is it?) |
| Lyndsay from Liverpool, England says (22/May/2004): |
The title implies it should be twice as good.
But is it?
The simple answer to this is "NO".
I am a lover of everything Final Fantasy, playing up to twelve hours a day whenever I buy a new one.
Final Fantasy 8 was by far the best, followed by 7, then 10, then 9.
I so enjoyed FFX - the graphics and gameplay were amazing. Completely different to play than all the others, but thats what made it attractive. I spent a total of 120+ hours on FFX and did as many of the little side-quests as I could find without using a walkthru.
So... when FFX2 was released I could not wait!! I had my other half standing ina queue to buy it for me!
The idea of all girls was, at first, a novel idea and seemed good. The way you can choose what you want to be is great, the garment grids are easy to use and left me less confused than the other games.
I finished the game in less than 15 hours.
Obviously I did not do all the side quests(which I am doing now on game plus)but I expected it to be at least a little longer.
To be able to finish a FF game in that time is a real let down. I took a week off work (as I usually do when I get a FF game) and sat about all week with nothing to do.
I must admit that although i am a girl, the barbie style of Yuna, Paine and Rikku is not fun.
I like all the weapons and fights, not singing and dancing.
Overall the game was ok. I still enjoyed it but cant wait for FFXII.
I hope it is a bit better.

Love Story |
| game_gurl101 from Katy (Texas), USA says (7/Jul/2004): |
When I first heard of this game, I was like, oh, this should be good! I mean, it the sequel to one of the greatest FF games ever! It HAS to be good. Heh, I in for a surprise.
FFX-2 is where you control Yuna (OMG! The first time that you get to control a female main character all the time!!! AWSOME!!!) and go around Spria acting like Charlies Angels and saving people from danger. Your also on a quest to find Tidus! ( I have no clue why they wont just say his name in the story)
Let me tell you now, FFX-2 is not like 7-10, where they just had little romance parts. FFX-2 IS a love story. Even with all the little sidequests and helping people.
But besides the fact that its a love story, its has awsome graphics that look very life like. And the music is awsome. Especially the two songs: real Emotion, and A Thousand Words. (but thats probably cuz they have lyrics)
And, as with every other FF game, you have fighting in it. This time you have things called Dresspheres that allow you to change into other different skimpy outfits with different abilities. Though I would say that the Mascot outfiit is just about the funniest one.
Anyway, I hope this has helped you. I would suggest renting the game more than buying it. But if you feel that you must have every FF game (like me) then buy it. I say rent because this is a big spin off from the other ones. Im certain most guy gamers wont like it. I know my brother didnt.

much better then FFX |
| patrik from sweden stockholm says (2/Mar/2004): |
This is so much better then FFX ever was. Better graphics, cooler music, more to do after you have completed the game. Whoever says that this game sucks is crazy. I love this game so much. Sure itīs kinda easy but it does not matter. I think itīs a great game with lots to do. Why is that everyone thinks this game is bad I donīt know. I love it anyway so I donīt care what you think. Little sad when almost no of the older characters are in the game expect for some missions. And one thing HOW THE hell are you gonna complete the game 100%. Impossible for me it is, Iīve 52% and only some secrets to find. Iīm glad that Yuna is the main character I love her. Did not like Tidus that much, kinda stupid person. Hey thatīs just me eh? donīt hate me or something. The new dress sphere system is so cool and it is fun to try to find them all, eh almost like Pokemon heh. The game is very short and almost no super cool CG scenes but it does not matter that much. The graphics are much better and the music as I said earlier is great, lots of fun tunes. Controlling your is character is still kinda tricky and sometimes the game slows down I donīt know why. Overall the game is fun and you have lots of secret missions and super bosses to find. I love this game and is without any doubt the best FF game ever made. And by the way I have played all of FF games so I know what Iīm talking about. Good luck playing this wonderful game. Patrik s

>.< Maybe play it through first? |
| Jenn from Home o.0 says (7/Jun/2004): |
I'm tired of reading reviews from people who A: See it as a charlies angels rip off. Yeah it sort of looks like it, but hey three girls doesn't always equate to that. You don't say power puff girls or moreover, totally spies (not a fan of that one >.>) are cop-offs so why this? And those guys who say it's girly have NO IDEA what girly means. How many girls will go out and kill monsters left and right no problem? Pheh, rather not break a nail.
Admittedly the change in Yuna was a dissapointment, but for those of us who love challenge this game rocks. I've played it through three times. Whoever plays it through only once is of course going to hate it. A lot of things become clearer as you go along/through the second time.
The plot was weaker than I'd hoped but the side stories made it interesting enough to be okay. That level of outside interaction is not something I've seen before. I love the battle system, dresssphere or no. Man, don't let the name fool you. It's not just a clothes change (*what I thought at first*) but an abilities change. It'd be like changing a set of materia in seven. You wouldn't call THAT stupid would you? o.0
Endnote: If you're going to insult this game, at least use proper grammer and some smidgeon of intellect. It's cool if you don't like it, but 'cuz it wuzn't cul' won't get you anywhere. It just makes you look stupid AND (as a result) more likely to be wrong.

The first final fantasy sequel, hopefully it's also the last! |
| Myles Harris from Bristol,England says (4/May/2004): |
I really thought this would be a good game, but it really is'nt. What was the point of making a sequel when the first game was so good? The battle system was better, the characters were more origional and Yuna was innocent. I do like the way that you can choose their jobs, though you feel like you are dressing a doll. There are more bad things than good things with this game.
Firstly, the battle system is really annoying because, unlike Final Fantasy 10, the battle system is touch-and-go. Then there are the three characters. Each act like little girls and say things like 'oh poopie!' or 'god darn it!' every few minutes. Square also removed the ability to summon aeons and go into override mode, which were the two flashiest bits of the game! Apart from those, the game is OK. The graphics are fantastic, especially CGI scenes that come up every now and again. There are also about 17 dress spheres to customise your characters with,so it would take ages to learn every ability. The sound and music are fine, not great, but not the worst either. It will last you about 65hrs if you take it seriously, but it is'nt very fun at all.
Right now, it should cost you about Ģ30.00 if you are lucky, just don't think it's going to be better than it's prodocessor. As they say, the apple does'nt fall far from the tree, so it is'nt a lot more different to any of the other Final Fantasy titles.

I think it's the best game ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
| Brittany Medlock from Phoenix,Az,USA says (12/Nov/2005): |
I think x-2 is beter than any other final fantasy game i have ever played in my whole final fantasy life. When I first experinced final fantasy i thought it was a stupid retarded game, but once I picked up the paddle, I thought it was the best game ever! I thought again about final fantasy games, and noticed they were great games! but They could be very hard and difficult, but in the same time it could be fun and exciting!I hope and pray to the lord that they make a another story to the game final fantasy X-2,but this time make it about Rikku or Paine's past and make one of them be the next main character. I also think final fantasy X-2 and X should be made into movies because some lazy people would rather watch a movie instead of listening or playing the storyline of the game like my little sister and little brother would rather just watch a movie instead so that is one suggetion to do. Okay now [coughs] back to the subject. I like the dresspheres. My favorite one so far is the trainer. because i am missing three dresspheres the alchemist, the mascot anf lady luck. the only way to find out is to ask people out there somewhere or get a cheat book but the problem is that i can't afford one because I am poor so I have to ask people to tell me or ask people if I can borrow there cheat book, but the only problem is, i that I don't know who has one so i can't do that.[guuuuuurrrrrr]

barely fun! |
| alex from Phils., Metro Manila says (6/Mar/2004): |
to tell u the truth, i was so excited when i found out that there would be a sequel to ffx. when i played ffx-2, my high expectations were not met. first, what happened to the tons of cg scenes that ff series is known for. ffx-2 didn't feel like ff to me because of this. second, why deprive the players of seeing the perfect ending when u first finish the game. players will play the game a second or a third time if the game is good and NOT just to complete the game 100% in order to see the perfect ending. players who don't have a lot of spare time will be compelled to use a walkthrough just to be sure to get 100% on the second try. Having female char. are fine with me as long as they wear sexy clothes. In the battle system, the only advantage of ffx-2 over ffx is that it's faster and there is a combo hit system that can deal greater damage when used properly. it is because if i want to use dispel or cure i will have 2 change dressphers or use items unlike in ffx wherein u just click a button and a new char. will appear with full HP. let me say "the more the merrier!" and 3 char. is just not cool enough even if there are diff. dress spheres avail. Another complaint is that there are some side quests that is like a chore. And u have 2 finish it or else u won't get the perfect ending. Well i think ffx-2 is an experimental rpg for square-enix that used the story of ffx!

Hot Half Naked chicks or Story line? |
| Gordon Till from San Angelo, Tx, USA says (8/Mar/2004): |
Dislikes, Thin story line. Review of FF-X without the power. If it werent for the half naked chicks going to their undergarments during the clothing change, the "sphere" change, the introduction of more skills would be tedious. Not that it isn't anyway, but then monster hunting has always been the only way FF games have let their players gain new skills. Prety much a constant with RPGs.
The thin story line and "Charlie's Angels" clone make this installment of final Fantasy even more cheezy than the first one. The girly girly backstory and lack of character selection reduces the appeal for the more sever gamers who prefer the multipath story lines that Squaresoft(aka Square Enix) made famous, even with the final destination being the same with each path selection. A wise Sage once said the road of a thousand steps starts with the first step, but the journey may teach more than the destination.
Likes: Final Fantasy Meets 13+(16+ us)audience. This is the first installment that actually alows the optional abort of repetitive and some of the longer story sequences. This alone is a vast improvement and a bonus for the longterm players, including those who played 3 before it hit the us. (FF3 us is FF6 Japan)
Worthy of the 40 quid?(60$ us?) This is a SOW unless you already shelled out. (Skippet or Wait for the discount chains to get it.)

Lamest FF game ever created. |
| Lisa from Tuscany says (21/Feb/2004): |
I believe it's safe for me to say that FFX-2 is one of the lamest games ever created. I can see that this game is targeted toward the female audience but how can game-creators assumes girls so shallow? I played from FF8 (because it was my first PS game) to bow, except 11 for fear of a virus. I even played FF tactics on the gameboy advance sp. And I enjoyed them all just the same because of the stradegy and quality music and storyline. If game creators wanted to attract more audience, then stick to what they know best. Because I find this game inefficient, offensively girlly, and annoying. What, you think by making the lead character a girl with a a couple of lame dresspheres is gonna be quality work? And what I don't understand is why they would limit the power to spheres? Because it makes you weak despite your level. And what is really annoying - beside Yuna and thate damned blue sarong 'cause I've hated her since FF10 - are the cloisters. What is the point of the ribbon and the hero drink when at cloister 80 the damned snake can still petrify and kill you? And why is it that the highest your HP can go is 9999 when the snake attacks at 60,000? So, I say... What is this game really trying to say about women????? Least to say, squaresoft will be gettin a very heated letter from a very insulted fan, NAACP, and PETA. I hate this game that much.

Great game nuff said!! |
| Demonic evil from England says (9/Mar/2004): |
I mean how any one can think any thing bad about this game i dont know.
I mean the great gameplay cg scenes pure brill.
After I played x i was completely awwed now that was a great game not many people like that or x-2 but i do and thumbs up to any one who thinks the same. now lets get down to the fine points. CG scenes defined to the very last pixel the start movie i heard it was a rock concert where-as it wasnt i mean fair enough it wasn't but still one of the greatest CG scince ff7. (which by the way is the best ff in time)
Music. yet again great im glad this has a less umm emotional side to it unlike 10 which was quite sad music but not in the bad way.its much more upbeat and more sort of Rikku like.
Now i think its kool how square have taken a new aproach to the atb and outlook of the game and compared to the other ff games three characters isnt alot but still good as it is not needed in this game to have 10 characters.three half naked women (well almost). it does suck the fact that there is no psychotic baddy like in most of the other ff games but if you do like the game dont use a walkthrough till you have complete it once please.
i liked the game as you can have alternate endings which is a great new feature to the ff series over all i give the game a wopping 10/10 thanks for taking the time to read this preciate it.

This is a pretty good game but they could do better...I think |
| Final Fantasy Fan (FFF) from Toronto, Canada says (24/Dec/2003): |
This game is pretty good.....if you were a girl!(No offense to the FF fans out there). I'm a FF fan too but I gotta tell the truth. Square-Enix...you should do better than that! First of all, they took away the sphere grid which was pretty good, there are only 3 main characters you can use, the dressphere system is pretty good but not that good, some dresspheres are useless like the songstress or something like that, and what happened to Tidus!? During the game, instead of saying Tidus, they say "him" or when Yuna's talking, she says "you".
The graphics are well done except that time when Yuna's fingers were blocks. The storyline is kinda good but FFX is much better.Even FF8 or 9 is better. The game is really short and if you want the perfect ending, you have to get 100% and if you screw up one thing like talking to the wrong person or do a mission in the wrong order, you mess up the whole dam game.So to complete the game with 100%, you have to get the guide. This is just a way of making more money from kids. The puzzles are really childish and easy. The game is girlish in the beginning but gets better later on.
In conclusion, I do NOT recommend this game at all unless your a hardcore FF fan(like me) or you can get the game for a really cheap price.(Dam,I wasted my money but luckily I can trade for another game).

is it me or is sqaure getin peerverted lol. |
| josh from missori, usa. says (1/Feb/2004): |
First you start out and some women named leblanc is disquesed as yuna. (I have no idea how that f***in out fit she weres stays on!) The yuna goes all tomb raider and stuff. the story keeps on doin weird stuff like this. I think the battle systim is one of the best theyve done but you can't costomize your characters as much. i like how they included chain atacks thogh and all the different abilities is cool. The game is pretty lay back and they basicly messed around when making it. almost all the bosses are too easy. the only boss besides the ones in the via purifico that i actualy didnt beat in less than ten rounds was angra manua or sumtin like that. the music i still like but i think other ff games did a better job. the graphics are awsome even thogh they re-used the game engen. i think they tweaked with it to improve it. without the side quests it is the shortest game they've ever made but they put so many fun mini games it made up for it. all in all it was a fun game. plus if you do think its too easy they made the via purifico. they totaly screwed up blitze ball but the mini game sphere break is fun. oops i think my reveiw is already too long so i'll wrap it up. this game is worth ur money in my opinion but for otheres it probaly sucks. if u like girls in skimpy out fits thogh you;ve got an extra plus! lol! bye.

It was pretty good But It wasn't all that |
| Jasmine from Dacula,Georgia says (30/May/2006): |
Yeah Yeah Yeah I've seen everyone's reviews. It really isn't that hard to get 100%.Even though I had to get it the second time through. The hardest Aeons were the Sisters in the Farplane after that everything is a brezz I beat Vegnagun With the Machina law dress sphere on Level 25 so If you can't Beat Vegnagun on Level 60 you can't call your self a true gamer I am on my 5 way around beat this so called game. The graphics are great in all but could have been better but the storyline just ruined it.Take FF7 for example not the best graphics but the story is so great and fun you don't hardly even notice(FF7 is the best can't wait for Vincent's game to come out Ima get it loved advent CHildren the movie to I watch it 5 times a day^-^)
But THIS IS CEIRTANLY NOT THE WORST FINAL FANTASY GAME EVER FF9 IS.SO everyone quit your B!< remove me > at #$ing and just go on the internet and find some cheat codes (I say it with love). There are grown men that can't beat it and im a 14 year old girl and I beat it.SO what is your exscuse. But the reason why I didn't give it a 10 is I geuss im not really fond of playing a game with 3 girls dressed as whores and I was kind mad when you had to get 100% to get the perfect ending.I love the jobs and how you can change during battle.FF-X was wAAAAAAAAAAAAAAy better so was ff-8 &ff-7 dir di-dur as carlos wold say.
