This is the FF sequel I've and you have been waiting for | | Nick Filipas from Oregon, USA says (15/Nov/2003): | Final Fantasy X-2, is one of those games, where you have the power to do anything you want, and have plain old FUN. I mean, FFX-2 is so fun to play, I never want to stop playing. I know, FFX was cool, but lets say, FFX-2 has 50% more action, and gameplay freedom. I'm talking about, jumping, and climbing, and also add in that sassy new Dressing Sphere, that lets new change into awsome costumes, like Warrior, Black Mage, Thief, Lady Luck and more. I like Rikku's Black Mage costume, and Yuna's Thief. Plus, the girls, are the coolest. I didn't like Yuna in FFX because, she was always quiet, and didn't say much, and plus, Rikku didn't look hot too. But...man, now Yuna and Rikku, are sassy, beautiful, and sexy. But, Paine sucks and looks like a goth girl. And even LeBlanc, and Dona, look hot as well. FFX-2 is a awsome fast paced game. In FFX, the battles were SO SLOW. Now, I hit my Duel Shock more often, because the gameplay is so fast action. Better go with ATB (Action Time Battle system) And what about the Aeons? No need to worry, and I'll even let you on a little info....On one level in FFX-2 (I won't say) you'll see a super-cool-awsome teaser of an old Aeon. But, the Costume-Changes make up for it. Overall, read this review, play it, buy it, quit talking to yourself about "Should I?" because you should. And have fun.

The thing I like most is the is the three endings! All of which I have had. There is so much to do so little time to do it.
Also thank GOD that they have dropped the spheregrid for the more traditional method of level raising! I disliked this game because it was slightly not as epic as say 7 or 9 it slightly beat 8 beacause of the involving and twisting storylines. It really is also a good introduction the series and funnily enough you do not need to play any of the prvious games in the series to find out the major story because in a little sense it is not a sequel it is a spin off of the tenth installment.
Graphics: The graphics in x-2 are primarilly the same as X because if they had far advanced graphics it would look slightly strange to find characters that bare absoulutely no resemblence to their self in X. Otherwise the emotions of the characters have improved finely and are 10/10.
Sound: This game has the best sound ever! The songs are from real singers not some composer for this game only. Also the battle music is awesome! 10/10.
Story: It does not have an epic storyline such as it developing lately in the game. 10/10.
THEN SO IT IS... FINAL FANTASY X-2 IS THE BEST SO FAR ON THE PS2!
| Im back to tell you why you should go buy ffx-2! | | Nathan McComb from Hebron,Ohio,USA says (5/Oct/2007): | well...i posted a review about april of last year,but i would still like to stress everyone to go buy this game.it is so amazing.since last year i have put another 400 hours onto the game.i now have 650+ hours on Final Fantasy 10 and 475+ hours on final fantasy X-2.plus on top of that i have got 250+ hours on final fantasy 12.now to tell you why you should buy the game!!!even though the game may be around 5 years old,it is still a great game.it has some very awesome graphics...making it a great game for its price...which ranges around $20.the music is great in this game too.although the singing may sound kinda cheesy,it adds a new sense to the final fantasy series.although it may not have any cheats it does have many great tips on how to master the game.you can contact me for info about this if you like.the gameplay is great in ffx-2.i especially enjoyed it because it will keep you playing for hours withoput getting bored...(note my more then 1200 hours of gameplay).this game is also extremely fun...and like i said it is worth $20.this game is also the first sequel in the series,and the originality stays good in the game for the whole thing.all in all my rating on this game would surely be a 10 out of 10.if anyone needs info about this wonderful game,contact me...i dont mind.have fun Final Fantasy Fans!!!

I gave X-2 8 stars but I most likely would have given X 10. Yes, this game can be beaten much faster but to get one hundred percent, most, but not all, people have to play three or four times. This one just didn't have the strange appeal that the first one did but in certain ways It was kind of better. I don't like the fact that it looks like, I'm not saying it was supposed to, but it looks like they tried to raise the sex appeal which isn't very traditional to other FF games as far as I know.
I thought the graphics were pretty good except Rikku's face looked kinda strange during a couple scenes, lol. There was alot less CG Animation than in FFX but I guess that isn't enirely a bad thing.
The music was also very nice, though some could seem sad, in a teary kind of way, if you were really really into FFX.
The battle system was also much faster than the first one but that can also make the battles somewhat harder. I was dissapointed with the difficulty of the final boss but some of the other bosses you must fight in order to get 100% completion entirley make up for it.
Overall it is my second favorite game, X is my first, Though some small things may dissapoint you compared to the first... It is an awesome game! :)
| FFX-2 is easy!!! | | Lily Anderson from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada says (10/Aug/2004): | okay, first of, i would like to say X is alot better. second, i would like to say that you don't need 100% to see tidus. at the farplane, when you get to walk around at the end after shuyin and lenne fade away, press the X or O button (i forget which) and you'll see a scene at the end after 1000 words plays. tidus does the swim to the surface thing from the end of X and yuna fly by with the celsius. i wont wreak anymore. also, 100% complete is easy, its only time consuming. bevelle and bikanel are the two that take longer than any thing else. so what if its a full female cast?!?!?! you can change into many different dress spheres and that more than makes up for the lack of people. the game is REALLY easy if you wanna go through from beginning to end; you don't really have to be at a high level. i went through the game once for maybe 10ish hours to see the system and graphics(which i loved) and beat shuyin at level 53 with maybe...6-8 dress spheres. one thing about this game that is not that easy is finding out all the places you have to be in at what point in the story. that's nearly impossible without the guide. who would have known that you had to sleep in the cabin ALL 5 chapters?!?!?!?! i dunno :S well, that's all i have to say about this game!!!! bye, byes!!!
| The Best Final Fantasy Ever! | | Nick Filipas from Oregon, USA says (30/Dec/2003): | FFX-2 is the best FF game ever. It has non stop fun and action, and it's just the best. It's so good, I can't even start talking about. I'll begen about the missions. Final Fantasy has this new thing where you have to do easy and some no-so-easy missions. Like getting something, looking for someone, or beating someone to the sphere. Plus you get points for getting it done like you get 0.34% which brings you closer to the "Perfect Ending" at the end of the game. FFX-2 brings back old characters from FFX, and you also visit the same places from FFX that have changed alot like Zanarkand Ruins, that they changed it to a theme park. Just plain wrong huh? FFX-2 during battles have something a Dress-sphere, that lets you change "jobs" while at battle. And the costumes have different attacks like Warrior hits hard, White Mage casts Life and Cura. And FFX-2 has the ATB from older FF versions. In case your wondering what ATB means, it means Action Time Battle system. Which the battle is more faster and when your choosing attack, the bad guy will hit you, and you'll lose health points. So overall, FFX-2 has a 10 star on graphics, sound, fun factor and gameplay. So if your ever around this baby, please buy FFX-2 because I've been a gamer for 14 years, and I know that FFX-2 rocks hard.

The storyline was absolutly out of context and the events of the game could all have appened in a day or two. A good rpg is supposed to be long and with an interesting storyline wich has a sense. The sounds where horrible. Honestly i used my cd player while playing ffx-2. The grafics where good but could have been better. The endings system was annoying because nothing tells you that you need every points in the game to see the final ending so most of the player fall in this trap. The battle system was innovative but broke all strategies and replaced them by a fast attacking fury that will ALWAYS, and i tested it, lead you to victory. Of course, compared to other ff games this one was original but who said this could be only good? Finnaly, if i was the creator of this game I would kill myself for having dishonored the name of FinalFantasy.
And come to think of it, as a studier of role playing game's histories(this is not a joke), Final Fantasy X absolutely did NOT needed anything else. The ending was perfect. In termes of history and world, this game was perfedt until the come of Final Fantasy X-2. I feel frustrated just by thinking about the waste of time and material they took to make this game.
| Game maybe not suitable for all. | | Helba from Mayfield, Kentucky says (5/Jan/2004): | Final Fantasy games are my all time favorite for the most part, but X-2 broke ground for a whole new way to play a game. For me change in a game and its proceeders is a positive path to take. Maybe change isn't good for some people, but if you are open-minded to new ideas change should not bother you. The game is based around the story of three girls: Yuna, Rikku, and Paine and their adventures together as sphere hunters. I do agree that the game wasn't the longest, but it does have more satisfaction to it if you try to beat the game without guides or walkthroughs. For one thing the dresssphere function is one of the most unique parts of the game; even though it is more of a game females would enjoy playing, but that doesn't steer me away from it. This function is something you shouldn't want to master because then you've drained most of the uniquity of each charachter away; specializing certain people in certain classes lets you savour the fun of wanting to play it again. Even thought the game may be short it really isn't if you independantly try to beat the game. I gave it a 9 out of 10 only because of the length being short; so far I've played Final Fantasy X 126 hours, but only 44 hours for X-2. I hope this review might help you in your cause.

The battle system was the best it has ever been in the world, but... the storyline was so awful. i literally said "this is it? i wasted 50 bucks!" most people liked FF7 or FF8... I also hated those games. They were so stupid. And FFX-2 reminded me of those two games. The graphics were superb, and the voice acting got better, but I gave FFX a 12/10... i seriously hated this game. The storyline was dry, and had a simple fly-by plot. it was also a HUGE rip-off of charlie's angels, which i also really hated. i vomitted my whole way through the game. also, my favorite characters - yuna and lulu - were totally screwed over in this game!! lulu should've been a main character as oppsed to Paine, and yuna was so innocent! now shes a slutty whore! and what's up with the guns?! this game belongs in the trash along with FF8 on down. Yes, I ONLY liked FF9 and FF10. their storylines were so complex and great. but this had no storyline. this was a crappy romance novel, and will forever be so. so unless you want to hear about a girl cry about how much she misses a dead guy, dont buy it... and its NOT the drmamatic type of crying... its the THIS IS A CRAPPY ROMANCE NOVEL AND SHE IS A HORRIBLE VOICE-ACTOR TYPE OF CRYING!!

system. I liked most of the outfits even though some of them were a little skanky. I really liked the story, but I liked the story from the first one was better. The cast of character was wonderful. I have to say that voices were a improvement from the first one. But sadly there is some bad things. I was kinda disappionted when they change how you played blitzball. I thought it sucked how you couldn't control the players during game. You could only just watch which I thought was gay. But I did like the coin game even though bliztball was much better. It can give you a headache though exspecailly when they only give you 30 seconds to muliply numbers. And I thought the game was kinda short. To me, I thought that they should of had 7 chapters instead of 5. But besides that, I thought the game was amazing!
I hope that if Square-Enix makes any more sequels to any in the FF series, it will be as great as this one!! And I hope they'll be games and not movies, like FF7-2AC.:(
| 10-2 is much better then 10 | | littleshadow from shepparton, australia says (22/Oct/2006): | i have played both games, of course u you should play both games cause otherwise u might not get the whole searching for the guy thing. anyway i believe that the sequal is so much better then the second, because of the fact that i go to play as a girl instead of a guy, i have found that in most games the main character that u play is a guy so its good to have a change. another would have to be the fact that there is singing in the game which is beautiful, i even had a tear come to my eye when yuna was singing and they had the scene of lenne and that guy. but besides all of the story line is great, u only have 3 people to fight with and u dont have mess around with those annoying grids and just one more bonus is that fact with certain choices that is made in the game the ending could be changed. during the game it may be easy but i think the only thing that is easy is everything but then fighting which i found was really good because i could do a lot of sidequest gain more skills and i also had alot more fun the what i had in the first sequal, whereas in the first one it was hard almost throught whole game and if u wanna have some times easy is the best way to go about it. well thats all i gotta say bye bye final fantasy fans

They look better and the game play was pretty intense but it was enjoyable in most cases. It was overall the best FF i've ever played, except maybe for FF7 because that was the first one i played. i finnished it by the age of 9 and it was the best game then that i've ever played. Because it had actual 3-d characters and not 2-d like FF1-6. FF10-2 was most like FF7 because of the ATB and the dressspheres where like FF4-5 but not all of then are featured. FF8s graphics were pretty sh!t but the gamplay was good though i never got to finnish it.FF10-2 answered most of my questions (WARNING IF YOU DON'T WHAT TO FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENS I SUJUST YOU MISS THIS BIT AND FIND THE BIT AFTER THE 10 HASHMARKS.) any way it is most dissappointing to find out that Yuna doesn't find Tidus because it is the sequal to FF10 and we can find out they find each other or not. but you don't see much of Tidus. ########### OK back to the review over all FF series was the only thing i played when i got one and would not stop until i finnished it. so i rate FF10-2 with a 10/10. sorry if i offended any body with this review.
| wtf was square thinking when they made this pos? | | alex jeffs from california, USA says (2/Jul/2004): | first, the game was like a musical. who would want to play a game like that? it did have good graphics and the fighting style wuz coolio, but why weren't there any summons? in ffx, i mostly relied on them. the characters were annnoying to listen to, and the dressphere idea sucked real bad. another good thing was that titus was gone, he wrecked ffx. the sound wasn't too good or too bad. it was basically a cheap rip off of ffx. i agree that almost everything turned into a tourist attraction. the game is pointless cuz it screwed up the entire no sequals that the other ff games had. there wasn't a strong story either, it was just about yuna looking for someone that looks like titus, and in the end it turned out to be a conflict between the titus lookalike and the yevonites over his dead girlfriend(who miraculously looked like Yuna). i also didn't like the piano controlled end boss. and the jump thing was completely stupid and useless. the game won't get any better by adding a couple of stupid and useless moves. i am glad that my brother bought the game because i would hate to waste $50 on a piece of s***. the game doesn't even pass as a frisbee, because you will break it out of rage before you think about throwing it.

It was Tidus's story but he goes and enjoys it in the Farplanes. That was the only let down in FF10. Until after the credits were finished Tidus seemed to be resurrected by the fayth in the ocean or something. That made me more happy.
A couple months later Final Fantasy 10-2 comes out. Bought the game the first day. I was thinking about buying the official stategy guide but I didn't. I didn't like that there was only a party of three; they were all girls; and no aeons. But I loved the music and special effects (the best of all Final Fantasy series). There was something in my mind that Yuna will find Tidus in the end. So it took me 31 hours to be the game. At the end, I was really disappointed to find out that Yuna did not find Yuna. I was really mad. Until my cousin brought up that I did not get the perfect ending because I did not complete it 100%. So I went back to the store and bought the strategy guide for FFX-2 and beat the game in 25 hours 100%. I got the perfect ending and loved it. Now its back to Tidus' story. And most of you guys might think I'm gay. Guess what, I'm 14 years old and I'm BLACK, that's dedication to the game!

At least five things in the first chapter alone are wrong not to mention the fact that important (percentage events) are given when it's already too late to do them. I didn't sit down and read the walkthrough before playing, it's not a book, it's a walkthrough.
I am female and this was NOT targeted toward me at all. I understand that some of you guys think the girly new look of the game was to drive in a new audiance but I disagree. If I want to see females dressed like tramps I can go to the mall on a Saturday night. Remember Charlie's Angels had a much bigger MALE following than female. =)
I was upset that the old charaters weren't more involved. I also didn't like the fact that the story line seemed a bit shallow and lame compared to the rest and the music was less than entertaining. I only started talking an interest in the Final Fantasy Series when my boyfriend was playing it...now he can't remove me from our PS2. I just hope they don't hack up Cloud 9 like they did FFX2.

I ranked it at 7 because it really didn't make me want to play it for 5 hours straight like 7,8,9, or 10 did. In my opinion even final fantasy 9 was much better. Graphics are the same as 10, storyline is a bunch of $#< remove me > at ! that makes no sense, battle system sucks compared to all the others. A couple reasons I even ranked it as high as 7 points was because 1. like final fantasy 2.I liked how 10 was 3.The bevelle 100 levels dungeon was spectacular 4. All the other secret dungeons were a good challenge 5.first sequel ever they probably didn't have much to go by. I hear that a final fantasy 9 sequel is being made, or even for some other final fantasy it better be better than x-2.
Only when you find out that ALL of the fun stuff like that is on all other ff's is it better , but all of the fun stuff is totally SECRET. I had to look up how to find everything because x-2 doesn't even give you aa clue how to get it.
| Rip Off!!! | | 2cool4u from Midland, Michigan, USA says (28/Apr/2007): | This game was a total rip off. It plot was terrible. Unlike Final Fantasy 10 you can't customize your weapons. It ended way to soon and was not nearly as detailed as FF10. Yuna didn't even seem like Yuna. The only good thing about this was the replay but when you replayed it your levels were reset so it's almost like just playing it again for the first time. The dress spheres that you could get were not helful at all and the game just didn't have the feel that FF10 did. It's a waste of money and not worth buying. I would have rated it a 0 but that wasn't a choice so I gave it a one. I was surrprised how many people liked this game and gave it 10s. Sure it wasn't a complete wreck but it was like a step backwards after FF10. I would have to say the worst thing about the game is the storyline. I hate this game and I never played it again. If I could go back I would never buy this game. It wasn't even much of a sequal. (Sequal is propably spelled wrong) At the end there was a guy named Shuyin and you couldn't play as Tidus in the game. The characters didn't at all seem like they used to. Yuna didn't even get any respect in the story which she should after she defeted Sin. The people all just ignore her.
| an okay game--it was entaining but did have some drawbacks | | ditto g from Nashville, TN, USA says (6/Feb/2004): | The sequel to FFX was a slightly above average RPG that could blow you away with its amazing design but suck you right back into the dark abyss of Flower Power and sugary girl bonding (i.e. not a compliment). but it was still good--certainly was entaining enough. however there were a few questionable attributes (liblanc's massage...?). The game was undoubtedly aimed toward the female audience, which i didn't mind _too_ much, but sometimes the good ol' folks as Square Enix took the Charlie's Angels' 'girl power' theme a bit too far, such as the beginning sequence. To anyone who was looking for a good adventure and were greeted with a Britney Spears promo, it was a definite turn off. However, graphics HAVE improved since its predecessor as well as the battle system, which i almost croaked over. Kudos to S.E. on that at least. I enjoy the original characters that pop up and especially Paine's lil dark and broody past--the name's enough to attract a healthy fan factor. I _especially_ liked how the game adapted to the player's skill level. However, in all honesty, they _could_ have made FFX-2 a _tad_ bit more challenging, but other than that, X-2 is a _very_ good game and worth its price.

| Pretty decent game if you ask me..but all girls..haha | | Charles.A Morgan from Jax,Florida,USA says (30/Jul/2004): | This game was really fun,not as fun as ff10..but still an all around good game.The thing I hade alot of fun with was the girls best dress spheres, you still get to use three characters,with pumped stats,and 3 times as much hp/mp,but also if they die you get to go back to your girls,that was really neat.Another big diffrence was the way that you could attack almost at the same time,which got throught the battles much quicker than on the other ff titles.I wish i could of got 100% complete..but i couldnt find all the damn crimson spheres...which sucked...In the guide,it says there is a monster with 999,999 hp...what the hell..you must have to train really hard to beat that thing..since i beat the game with my most powerfull attack doing about 2000..i think that it would be nearlly impossible..or maby i just suck at it..owell.My girlfriend beat the game doing less, so maby i wasnt doing so bad,but she sucks at games too!!Which i would expect that from a girl anyway.(no offense).Well, if anyone can tell me if the thing at the bottom of Bevelle has that much hp..please tell me for i can give it a another shot at trying to master another ff.PS.FINAL FANTASY 7 IS STILL THE BEST EVER!
