It's new, but is it better?39844

Amir Kolmanic from Athens, Greece says (20/Mar/2004):
Many people thought that Final Fantasy X was the greatest game ever produced. As a result, FFX-2 was made. The only FF game with such an upgrade, FFX gained a very high reputation, so its sequel had a lot of work to do and alot of fans to impress. Did they succeed? I'll tell you what I think about the game and some criticisms, so on, blah, blah...let's get to business.
The game features Yuna, Rikku and Paine, the trio known as The Gullwings, sphere hunters in the world of Spira. Yuna, with the help of her guardians eternally defeated Sin two years ago. But then, she was a summoner, a purely religious disciple who was to undertake a sacrificial quest to defeat the persistent bane of Spira. Every time it was defeated, it reappeared ten years later, so to never really be defeated, unless the people were to atone to their sins. Some thought it futile to keep toiling with such a task, but the summoners persistently thought it worthwhile. By figuring out that Yu Yevon, the fiend controlling Sin was the one to defeat, Tidus, Yuna, Auron, Wakka, Lulu, Kimahri and Rikku vanquished Sin and brought to Spira the eternal calm. But now, trouble is stirring up again in Spira, as an unbelievably powerful machina, Vegnagun, has been located in the Bevelle underground area. With such a force to control, it seems all of Spira is in an uproar, and the clash between New Yevon and the Youth League is about to begin...
That should suffice for the introduction...hehe. Now to the games features and differences. Since FFX-2 is so very similar to FFX, I'll compare the two. If your expecting to see Sphere Grids or levels, Aeons (your own, anyway), Turn-Based Battles, Blitzball or equipping weapons you'll be very sadly disappointed. The Sphere Grid is now obsolete because...well because there are Garment Grids and Dresspheres. Garment grids are grids with slots for inserting Dresspheres and possess different abilities. Dresspheres are similar to the characteristics your characters from FFX had, e.g. Lulu was a black mage, so there's a Black Mage DS, Yuna was a white mage, so we have White Mage DS etc. There are also ones like Gun Mage (Yuna's default), Thief (Rikku's default), Warrior (Paine's default), Alchemist, Mascot, Dark Knight, Lady Luck... BTW, each girl can dress up into any DS. Then we have the familiar abilities the girls learn through levels (yes, not sphere levels, plain old 'up to 99 or summit' levels). Black Mage has Fire, Thunder, Ice, Watera and can learn level 2 spells i.e. Fira, Thundara etc. White Mage has Cure, Esuna and can learn level 2, Cura... Same goes for level 3, Curaga. But some spells, like Full Cure, are new. Thief has FlimFlam, a mix of Steal, Pilfer gil and Bribe. And so on, so on...The combos are endless. As for the Aeons, you could say you can summon 'Mini Aeons' while the girls are wearing Trainer DS.
Blitzball could supposedly be related to Sphere Break, though you need slightly more thought here (1+1=2, hehe). There is also Gunner's Gauntlet, which you can find out for yourself. In my opinion, the Sphere Grid was generally much better than this classic style of raising; it was more expandable and less limited. The Aeons were alot of fun (like Pokeemon, smirk... lol, don't really like Pokeemon, I mean Pokemon (e with a line above)) and you could teach them abilities and raise their stats (not with protein like Pokkemon) just exploit their power to slaughter hard bosses (e.g. Yojimbo's Zanmato - this is for those of you who wanted to get Anima but couldn't cos' you forgot to get the treasure in Besaid Temple, and so had to encounter that stupid D. Valefor who slaughtered your pitifully raised characters with a single Sonic Boom, oops, i mean Sonic WINGS (not like Pookemon, smirk) or killed all of your characters with an Energy Ray). Anyway, one more new aspect is that instead of equipping your measly THREE (yeah only 3, tria, tres, tri, trois, drei (OK u get it) characters instead of the before SEVEN!!!!! what a difference (not six like Pokeemon, smirk)) characters with armors, they now get accessories (big difference ;*****), but the weapons are completely omitted, as previousy mentioned. Instead of the old airship Cid had, the Gullwings' airship is now called the Celsius, with a nice fancy red coating too. Tidus is seen several times, but not nearly enough... The CTB (Conditionally (I think) Turn Based Battle System) is now the ATB (figure it out), with more dynamic turns, which has its +es and -es, like if your agile, you can just crack the enemy five times in a time space of ten seconds, but the bad thing is that if you want to get a snack and leave the battle unpaused, you will (unlike in FFX) see a screen with big words spread across your screen reading GAME OVER. Yes, it blows, i know, so just don't forget to pause. The Monster Arena is still there, last time I checked (unless a PS2 My Doom Bug arrived recently through that new Network thing).
Generally, FFX-2 is a very good game with improved graphics, and it is a must-buy for FF fans. Maybe it is a game filled with chicks, but it's still not a chick game... :)
That's pretty much I'll write for now, I hope it helps, or sumfink...For questions, tips, or anything related send me an e-mail at aabeba35712< remove me > at hitmail.com...oopss I mean aabeba35712< remove me > at hotmail.com or kolmanic< remove me > at yahoo.com.
Thanks for reading and remember, gamers, KEEP ON PLAYIN'!!!!!

One of the most wonderful FF's in a long time39842

Blackpaw from Union, MO says (19/Mar/2004):
Final Fantays x-2 was a perfect game in many ways, the revamping of the Dress System introduced in FF3 was done masterfully, and I love the ability to change in battle .

The Graphivcs and gameplay are all top notch, and the voice acting has much improved over FF-X. I've heard it said that this game has hardly any storyline at all, but I disagree. I find the story rather intriguing and very funny at times. The antics of LeBlanc and the Gullwings left me laughing. This isn't FF-VI but It's a wonderful game in and of itself. If there was one thing I'd change, I would place a way to rotate the camera angle on the world view, it's kind of annoying trying to find somethign behind a tree in Macalina woods or something... but toehrwise Wonderful Game, can't wait for FF-XII to come and see what wonders they have for that one! :)

Final Fantasy it's what people talk about.39755

Sepreroth from Australia, Bunbury says (16/Mar/2004):
FF10 was a completely new version of the FF series. i mean the characters acually talk and their mouths move. They look better and the game play was pretty intense but it was enjoyable in most cases. It was overall the best FF i've ever played, except maybe for FF7 because that was the first one i played. i finnished it by the age of 9 and it was the best game then that i've ever played. Because it had actual 3-d characters and not 2-d like FF1-6. FF10-2 was most like FF7 because of the ATB and the dressspheres where like FF4-5 but not all of then are featured. FF8s graphics were pretty sh!t but the gamplay was good though i never got to finnish it.FF10-2 answered most of my questions (WARNING IF YOU DON'T WHAT TO FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENS I SUJUST YOU MISS THIS BIT AND FIND THE BIT AFTER THE 10 HASHMARKS.) any way it is most dissappointing to find out that Yuna doesn't find Tidus because it is the sequal to FF10 and we can find out they find each other or not. but you don't see much of Tidus. ########### OK back to the review over all FF series was the only thing i played when i got one and would not stop until i finnished it. so i rate FF10-2 with a 10/10. sorry if i offended any body with this review.

Not as good as FFX, but still impressive.39757

Cloud from Western Australia, Australia says (16/Mar/2004):
Final Fantasy X-2 is a fine piece of squaresoft work and did not let down on the good Final fantasy name. Although the game is a lot more Charlies Angles than I would have liked, they brought back the old battle system incresing the rate of battle and the fun factor. Although you are only able to play as 3 characters, the ability to change jobs gives you the ability to access vast arrays of abilities and items. The only disapointment that I could see was the lower amounts of FM sequences than in the first game and the games such as blitzball which is back. Although blitzball was anoying, other mini-games were very fun and could be played for hours on end. In all, the game was very enjoyable and I would recommended it to all who are looking for a great gaming experience or just a good laugh.

Rock on baby!39776

A gamer from Ontario, Canada says (16/Mar/2004):
Oh yeah talk about being one of the best ff games (I find) I mean, I never played FF7 before and I know how everyone's saying it's the best game of all time, and how you should really play it and so on. But I find FF9, FF10, and FF10-2 to being the best. They were just so well put together with the whole story and such, and to actually have a sequal is really awesome! I never really thought that would be true, because we all know final fantasy is a series that you don't need to play the others to understand what's going on, and I'm pretty sure people are getting that idea for FF10-2 with FF10, and yeah you can play this game without the use of FF10, but it would be nice to know a little back story...but that's entirely up to you! Now this game, it is the king! I mean, the dresspheres and all that...totally awesome! I loved having the ability to change into all these different things, learning all these cool abilities, and to get them was fun too (loved the sphere break game!) I'm glad they took out Blitzball, I hated that game with a passion only because I found it quite confusing (like most ff mini games...) but not sphere break! But I must tell you one thing, through experience, I recommend you do not rush through going to place to place without exploring because well, not only will your hp be small, you won't have that much percentage for 100% and I know you want to see that ending (it took me three times of playing this game to achieve it...but hey, it was well worth it!) The game, like FF9 has a great replay value! So don't be upset when you don't get all the percentage in this game...you can play it again! And the game actually will have that happen! I mean after all the ending stuff something will pop up saying about this New Game Plus which is another plus for this game! I always wanted to have a game where you can start brand new and have everything, which you do! The new game plus does that and it's great, I mean, you get to keep all the stuff you ever earned in the first time through, dresspheres, skills, items, accessories...EVERYTHING!!! The only thing sucks is you're back at level 1 and you need to get the 10 stupid crimson spheres again...but hey, it'll make those extreme bosses even easier because not only will you have your catnip from the first time through you'll have it AGAIN in the next time through! So the bosses will go down even quicker with two gunners!! Pretty sweet, don't you think? So don't feel bad that you don't have 100% in one game, okay? Believe me, beat it now and do the new game plus thing more so than re-starting the game from complete scratch, because it even saves your previous percentage!!! (which is a major plus, you won't need to have to do absolutely everything again...thank god) So don't feel sad...a second chance is just around the corner!

Better than Final Fantasy X!39644

Sean Evans from Wales! says (11/Mar/2004):
Final Fantasy X-2 gives a new meaning to the whole RPG genre because the story builds on the redecessor X. The thing I like most is the is the three endings! All of which I have had. There is so much to do so little time to do it.
Also thank GOD that they have dropped the spheregrid for the more traditional method of level raising! I disliked this game because it was slightly not as epic as say 7 or 9 it slightly beat 8 beacause of the involving and twisting storylines. It really is also a good introduction the series and funnily enough you do not need to play any of the prvious games in the series to find out the major story because in a little sense it is not a sequel it is a spin off of the tenth installment.

Graphics: The graphics in x-2 are primarilly the same as X because if they had far advanced graphics it would look slightly strange to find characters that bare absoulutely no resemblence to their self in X. Otherwise the emotions of the characters have improved finely and are 10/10.

Sound: This game has the best sound ever! The songs are from real singers not some composer for this game only. Also the battle music is awesome! 10/10.

Story: It does not have an epic storyline such as it developing lately in the game. 10/10.

THEN SO IT IS... FINAL FANTASY X-2 IS THE BEST SO FAR ON THE PS2!

Final Fantasy Games Just Keep Getting Better39651

Will from Birmingham, USA says (11/Mar/2004):
There's only one bad thing... I'd like to summon the aeons! Otherwise, there's a lot of fun in this game! The different dresspheres, the effects of the garment grids... it all adds to the fun!
The music is great, my favs are the first two sung songs... 1000 Words and Real Emotion. The movies that go with them are great, too.
I am also glad that there are cheats for this. If you just try to finish the game you miss a lot of items. This is good for the new game plus, which lets you play with what you had in your last game. New Game Plus is my most favorite thing about Final Fantasy X-2.
I am in Chapter 5 with 80%, so I am not sure if that is good or not. I think it is good since my friend finished the game with only 32%! I think it is very good that it shows you your percentage.
It could be cooler if Yuna, Rikku, and Paine changed their appearance with their dressphere.
Also, what really angers me, is while you're passing out balloons, they don't even subtract one balloon! What, are they too lazy to get in there and make it a tad more realistic by taking one balloon away?
Oh well, that is my two bits. Hope it helps you!

Great game nuff said!!39590

Demonic evil from England says (9/Mar/2004):
I mean how any one can think any thing bad about this game i dont know.
I mean the great gameplay cg scenes pure brill.
After I played x i was completely awwed now that was a great game not many people like that or x-2 but i do and thumbs up to any one who thinks the same. now lets get down to the fine points. CG scenes defined to the very last pixel the start movie i heard it was a rock concert where-as it wasnt i mean fair enough it wasn't but still one of the greatest CG scince ff7. (which by the way is the best ff in time)

Music. yet again great im glad this has a less umm emotional side to it unlike 10 which was quite sad music but not in the bad way.its much more upbeat and more sort of Rikku like.
Now i think its kool how square have taken a new aproach to the atb and outlook of the game and compared to the other ff games three characters isnt alot but still good as it is not needed in this game to have 10 characters.three half naked women (well almost). it does suck the fact that there is no psychotic baddy like in most of the other ff games but if you do like the game dont use a walkthrough till you have complete it once please.
i liked the game as you can have alternate endings which is a great new feature to the ff series over all i give the game a wopping 10/10 thanks for taking the time to read this preciate it.

Pros and Cons39594

wytchmagick from North Carolina, USA says (9/Mar/2004):
I think FFX-2 is a decent game in total. It doesn't 'suck', but it is also a far reach from say... FF7. (by the way, FF7-2 Advent Children is NOT A GAME... it's a movie.) FFX-2 has great graphics, decent music (1000 words is a WONDERFUL song) and decent battle systems. It can be frustrating with the active battle system when trying to find items or scroll through spells and monsters are pummeling the snot out of you though. The Dressphere/garment grid concept was a great idea, giving more variety to the game, although they could have easily achieved that with more playable characters. I also do not like the 'must get 100% completion, plus do this and that secret stuff to get the perfect ending'... just give it to us already, we busted our butts on this game (and our wallets), I think we deserve the best. (especially since most FFX-2 players are die-hard FF fans and have been playing FF for a looooong time)

Overall, this whole game has a "Charlie's Angels" feel to it, with the characters, interaction, missions, "episode" complete (like a tv show or something) and even the scantilly clad outfits for the 3...I repeat... 3 (like the angels) main characters. Of course, I developed this opinion in the very beginning with the "Y.R.P" thing, and since, the game has only added to that opinion. Oh yeah... the other thing that REALLY REALLY peeved me... YOU CANNOT SUMMON AEONS (or whatever they decide to call them in any given FF game) Noooooo, you get to FIGHT them, but no summoning..... *gives very angry face*

But all in all, I think it's a game more geared towards pre-pubescent boys or guys who like to play games with scantilly clad women. Granted, the whole 'girls kicking butt' might appeal to females, it's not going to be the major seller of the game. Most women want to see Tidus again after the really crummy ending off FFX. (who writes these storylines anyway, and how often have they tried to commit suicide?) If you are a die-hard FF fan, get the game, it's worth it... but if you are looking for a sequel befitting FFX, don't.. wait till you can pick it up used at a pawn shop or something. And for those playing it.. If you start to get frustrated and ticked off (i know I did).. stop playing for a few days (or longer) and then pick it up. The game will seem a lot less redundant.

what a good battle system and a great game39600

craig saunders from newport, south wales says (9/Mar/2004):
to sum it up this game is the best final fantasy i have played.
the battle system rocks, it flows with style. i like the way they set out the game to go through as stages and one full on story. the soundtrack is also good, after the other world from ffx they had to beat it and they did with a great song sang by yuna herself(real emotion). it also strayed away from older story lines. The faces are the same, but the clothes aren't. That's right. This is a Final Fantasy where the characters actually change clothes. Yuna is no longer who she was in X and is now a lot more of a free spirit, though she yearns for her love she still remains in high spirits in hopes of finding him. Rikku is just as energetic as before, but dresses A LOT less than before. A new character to the roster is Paine. There isn't much to say about Paine, but she completes the group of adventure-going misfits.

Over all I think the direction SquareEnix decided to go with this game is great since it improved upon X's and added new things.

Hot Half Naked chicks or Story line?39565

Gordon Till from San Angelo, Tx, USA says (8/Mar/2004):
Dislikes, Thin story line. Review of FF-X without the power. If it werent for the half naked chicks going to their undergarments during the clothing change, the "sphere" change, the introduction of more skills would be tedious. Not that it isn't anyway, but then monster hunting has always been the only way FF games have let their players gain new skills. Prety much a constant with RPGs.
The thin story line and "Charlie's Angels" clone make this installment of final Fantasy even more cheezy than the first one. The girly girly backstory and lack of character selection reduces the appeal for the more sever gamers who prefer the multipath story lines that Squaresoft(aka Square Enix) made famous, even with the final destination being the same with each path selection. A wise Sage once said the road of a thousand steps starts with the first step, but the journey may teach more than the destination.

Likes: Final Fantasy Meets 13+(16+ us)audience. This is the first installment that actually alows the optional abort of repetitive and some of the longer story sequences. This alone is a vast improvement and a bonus for the longterm players, including those who played 3 before it hit the us. (FF3 us is FF6 Japan)

Worthy of the 40 quid?(60$ us?) This is a SOW unless you already shelled out. (Skippet or Wait for the discount chains to get it.)

a good game by all means39573

Miguel Miguel from usa says (8/Mar/2004):
the facts about final fantasy x-2 are simple,in my opinion
its better then ffx in many ways, u can change the way the story
is tolled in many ways, the first time i beat the game i was really mad only getting 50% percent done of the story done, soon i realized by playing the game again there is more to the game then u think alot people are mad because its only a girl gang, but i wanted ff x-2 to diffrent then others final fantasy games i play and beat,u can argue the facts that yeah u have to get 100% to get the perfect ending, which is alot of work but real final fantasy players will not have a problem with that, i dint mind beating the games 3 times to get the perfect ending, so if you are a fan of the series you love the game or hate it simple as that.

What the hell u on about?!39539

Katie from Leeds England says (7/Mar/2004):
I realy like this game! I may be on my own but I dont care. I think that it beats 10 with a big bloody stick! coz 10 was cr*p! fair enough its not better than 7 and i hope the new 7 comes out allrite, (is that a film or a game?) but im sick of hearing people slag off ffX2! IF YOU DONT LIKE IT EXCHANGE IT FOR SOMETHING ELSE and get on with your life man! stop complaining and go play on soul callibour to work out some of that testosterone. If you think its so easy why dont you go though university, learn to animate and make your own bloody RPGs! and stop posting the same messeges as every one else. Just enjoy the game for what it is or sell it! personaly i found the battle system a little strange at first but then i realy got into it! its like hard core fun coz its quite fast, and im loving the dress spheres and the three character system coz it makes training up much faster. I also like the characters because there realy cheesy stereo types! but that leblanc girl is iritating! apart from the masarge thingy which i found quite funny.
I realy like the graphics coz they are just that bit better than 10 but that bit makes all the difference, the opening sequence although cheesy is very nicly done! there isnt that much CG in this game but i think theres more than there is in 10.
also theres more options in this game about who your friends are and some times if your nicer to a sertain group it can effect battles in the future which is a nice feature. 1 thing i do disslike about this game is the lack of a good baddy!!!! 10 had the same problem a big thing that dosent do any thing does not serface my desire to kick it ass! the guy in 9 was a good baddy! 7 had the best baddy! Setheroph man! what more do you want!? A good baddy needs to take a sick sort of plesure in desroying familes and the main characters home town and stuff like that, I like the firs baddy in 8 aswell and the ultimecia thing controling all the others was a nice idea but the motives for her wanting to compress time were a little far fetched for me. any way i think if you liked 10 you might not like this 1 coz it does feel a little like treading old ground, but if your open minded from the start i think it is well worth the 40 quid!

barely fun!39513

alex from Phils., Metro Manila says (6/Mar/2004):
to tell u the truth, i was so excited when i found out that there would be a sequel to ffx. when i played ffx-2, my high expectations were not met. first, what happened to the tons of cg scenes that ff series is known for. ffx-2 didn't feel like ff to me because of this. second, why deprive the players of seeing the perfect ending when u first finish the game. players will play the game a second or a third time if the game is good and NOT just to complete the game 100% in order to see the perfect ending. players who don't have a lot of spare time will be compelled to use a walkthrough just to be sure to get 100% on the second try. Having female char. are fine with me as long as they wear sexy clothes. In the battle system, the only advantage of ffx-2 over ffx is that it's faster and there is a combo hit system that can deal greater damage when used properly. it is because if i want to use dispel or cure i will have 2 change dressphers or use items unlike in ffx wherein u just click a button and a new char. will appear with full HP. let me say "the more the merrier!" and 3 char. is just not cool enough even if there are diff. dress spheres avail. Another complaint is that there are some side quests that is like a chore. And u have 2 finish it or else u won't get the perfect ending. Well i think ffx-2 is an experimental rpg for square-enix that used the story of ffx!

Holy Smokes - what the hell have they done!!!39491

Bomber from England says (5/Mar/2004):
What can i say that hasn't already been said, they have destroyed the game entirly!!!!!!!! Fianl fantasy 10 is far superior to this disappointing game although the graphics are well good. They inserted missions, why is beyond me,they took blitzball out an added a stupid bloody crapy coin game and the fact that you can't change your charactors is well poo!! They have changed the battle system which i think is crap once again ff 10's system is much better. I got it the day it was released in England and the same day i was so dissapointed. The people at square seriously want there heads bashing together. Well we can only hope that the next installment of the final fantasy series which we hope is being made now, will be a whole lot better a real WHOLE lot. You can do it square makes us proud again.

FInal Fantasy X-2:Great Sequel to Great Series!39459

A gamer from College Station, Tx says (3/Mar/2004):
First of all, I am a major player of the Final Fantasy Series. I've played out everyone, get 100% completion, Leveling, Items, Etc.... So, I believe that my opinion has some justice in the whole mix of things!(Ofcourse, there are many out there just like me, so kudo's to you to!) Final Fantasy X-2 is one of the best games that I personally have played in a long time. Not just because it's a sequel to Final Fantasy X, which in my opinion was not the best in the series, but because in general, it's a great game. The graphics are awsome, top notch, the music is just as good as ever, the story, if somewhat a bit corney, still capture's it's audience's attention, and the gameplay is one to be remembered! At first, I didn't take this game to seriously. I figured it would be a girly, trashy, sorry attempt to rekindle and cash-in on Final Fantasy players-but I was wrong. Yes, without knowing the entire story, things can get abit confusing(like:Who is this Yuna chick looking for? Hey, who is this Yuna chick? and What's soooo great about Wakka having a kid? I just don't get it!)but if a gamer is playing a Final Fantasy game for the first time, I suggest that they not start on this one and go back to my favorite, Final Fantasy 7. Ofcourse, any true FF Gamer would already have played through FFX and know the backround story, so no problem there. I've read alot about how players don't like the battle/game system. So you get to jump a couple of times and instead of weapons, you have dress spheres? I think this was a creative way to mix things up abit, stop using the same battle system over and over again. True any real FF gamer looks for the continueing battle/game/items still all the same names similarities, but since this is a sequel, first time ever, I don't mind. I love the dress-sphere idea to! I think it's great that you have to level up what I consider character profiles instead of weapons. Yes, there is alot more minor stuff to do, aka side quests that have to be complete, many dress spheres having to be leveled up to complete the game, watching all those com spheres!-But this just makes the game play longer and more interesting. The music is fabu! The dialoge's not great, but 1000 Words really touched me. The whole seen between Shu Yin, Len, and Yuna made be cry-not only because of the touching story, but because the graphics were just to good! There seems to be more sadness incorperated in this FF game as well. I always loved the bitter-sweet moments that come with the story in all the FF games, but this story is almost to much for me! I **almost** prefer Final Fantasy 8 or Final Fantasy 9's happier endings to this one's.(ofcourse things are a bit different during 100% completion story mode) But things do seem to come around full circle and I like that. Even if the music is not as memorable as it's predicesor's, or the story not as good-I still enjoyed it, without regret or shame. Whether male or female, gamer or not, this is one to play over and over. Well, maybe not as much as FF7, but definatly up there.

what a drag39472

A gamer from ontario, canada says (3/Mar/2004):
To tell the truth, I only was interested in the game ending itself...this game, didn't appeal to me at all. Sure it was cool to have a ff sequal, but it wasn't as good as I hoped it would be. (Here I'm thinking, Yuna's going to be taking some emotional trip down memory lane and that her quest would be somewhat challenging). But no, most of the time she was this perky, cheerleader type girl trying to find out how spira has changed with her ditzy side-kick Rikku. I also didn't like some of the bosses that took off well over 9999hp, when your character can barely even make it over 10 (with all the accessories you need to put on to jack up your hp) and I'm not even sure that doing that via infinito will give you anything when you do beat it (I only made it to level 60 - and that was pretty much what I needed to do for game completion percentage needed). But if You have the "catnip" accessory, then those bosses are a breeze, you just have to pray they don't hit and kill your party before you get a chance to revive (because they need to be in the yellow for it to work) so use the gunner ability "trigger happy" is best for the catnip because each hit takes off 9999hp! (if you're having any problems with the bosses) Now the cutscenes are a different matter. Wait a minute, I don't think I remember any cutscenes through out the game except for the two Yuna concerts and the ending! Which is a new thing, I didn't even know Yuna could sing in the first place...but in the storyline I realized how it failed to mention the fact of how Yuna even got the garment grid...just out of the blue, she's on this mission to get it back (but I thought it was because of some sphere Kimahri got) yeah, confusing much. Anyway, I realized the game was based on gaining more dresspheres than finding more spheres. I didn't like the fact of the missions either, yeah you help out all these people, but really, what was the point of all of it? Nothing! It was really lame I find...but it was a good try and I give them credit for that...it was still good to play though, (I played and beat it three times already) so enjoy the game people, really, it's not that bad but when you get down to the root of the game, those are the faults I find. More cutscenes, no missions, and keep the dresspheres, those were cool.

The Best RPG I have ever played39441

Declan Clement from Lancashire, UK says (2/Mar/2004):
Ever since Final fantasy brought out FFV I thought "If someone can do this they can go really far in the RPG gaming world" So since the beginning i started liking the FF games and gradually making it through to the end of the games. So when FFX came out i thought they had made the ultimate FF game and i was shocked(in the good way) to find out that they were making a FFX-2. After completing FFX I thought about what FFX-2 would be like and even though it is completly different to the other FF games I liked it alot better then all of them and thats why i give it a 10* rating and as soon as it came out i went down to the shop a bought it straight away. I hope they will make another FF game Don't You? If you have anything to say about my review just send me an e-mail and it will be shown with this review. ok?

much better then FFX39448

patrik from sweden stockholm says (2/Mar/2004):

This is so much better then FFX ever was. Better graphics, cooler music, more to do after you have completed the game. Whoever says that this game sucks is crazy. I love this game so much. Sure itīs kinda easy but it does not matter. I think itīs a great game with lots to do. Why is that everyone thinks this game is bad I donīt know. I love it anyway so I donīt care what you think. Little sad when almost no of the older characters are in the game expect for some missions. And one thing HOW THE hell are you gonna complete the game 100%. Impossible for me it is, Iīve 52% and only some secrets to find. Iīm glad that Yuna is the main character I love her. Did not like Tidus that much, kinda stupid person. Hey thatīs just me eh? donīt hate me or something. The new dress sphere system is so cool and it is fun to try to find them all, eh almost like Pokemon heh. The game is very short and almost no super cool CG scenes but it does not matter that much. The graphics are much better and the music as I said earlier is great, lots of fun tunes. Controlling your is character is still kinda tricky and sometimes the game slows down I donīt know why. Overall the game is fun and you have lots of secret missions and super bosses to find. I love this game and is without any doubt the best FF game ever made. And by the way I have played all of FF games so I know what Iīm talking about. Good luck playing this wonderful game. Patrik s
