Great Game but.... | | Jesse from Miamisburg, OH. USA says (19/Aug/2004): | Alright Final Fantasy 10-2 is a great game. But trying to master it is a very long time!!! Some of the things you have to do you would not know you had to unless you had a stradagy guide or help from a friend. I like the battle system its kinda like Tactics but better. And also the fact that you can do so many side things its crazy. The few let downs are Blitz Ball has turned into you being the coach instead of a player. Also It seemed like Squareenix has rushed the game a little bit. You can only have three characters and one of them (Paine) came out of no where! ALso I hate the new sphere hunters they get really anoying, But I do like that you can see everyone from Final Fantasy 10. I like the fact that you can pretty much have an infinate amount of potions if you have the right dress sphere. I also like the fact that you can play the game again with all the items you had plus all the dress spheres and AP you had. That is what prolly makes the game all the better to buy. Besides all that FFX2 is a great game over all and for RPG players I recomend it for a buy.
| Overall a great game, but a little too easy | | Matt from ohio, usa says (3/Feb/2004): | As a huge fan of FFX, I may be a bit biased to this game. Overall I was into the storyline. The graphics are awesome, and so is the music. I love the battle system, although overall most battles can be won by just doing a standard physical attack. I only died once during the entire game, and that was in the desert when I fought Angra Mainyu, who was very unexpectedly hard (333444 HP)! The only down side to the game I felt was that there are too many mini-games. They should have used some of the disk room for more movies, since the quantity of them was low. Some of the mini-games were just boring, such as sky slots. I liked the secret dungeons, especially the catuar hollow. If you played FFX and liked it at all, then this game is worth your 50 bucks.
| FInal Fantasy X-2:Great Sequel to Great Series! | | A gamer from College Station, Tx says (3/Mar/2004): | First of all, I am a major player of the Final Fantasy Series. I've played out everyone, get 100% completion, Leveling, Items, Etc.... So, I believe that my opinion has some justice in the whole mix of things!(Ofcourse, there are many out there just like me, so kudo's to you to!) Final Fantasy X-2 is one of the best games that I personally have played in a long time. Not just because it's a sequel to Final Fantasy X, which in my opinion was not the best in the series, but because in general, it's a great game. The graphics are awsome, top notch, the music is just as good as ever, the story, if somewhat a bit corney, still capture's it's audience's attention, and the gameplay is one to be remembered! At first, I didn't take this game to seriously. I figured it would be a girly, trashy, sorry attempt to rekindle and cash-in on Final Fantasy players-but I was wrong. Yes, without knowing the entire story, things can get abit confusing(like:Who is this Yuna chick looking for? Hey, who is this Yuna chick? and What's soooo great about Wakka having a kid? I just don't get it!)but if a gamer is playing a Final Fantasy game for the first time, I suggest that they not start on this one and go back to my favorite, Final Fantasy 7. Ofcourse, any true FF Gamer would already have played through FFX and know the backround story, so no problem there. I've read alot about how players don't like the battle/game system. So you get to jump a couple of times and instead of weapons, you have dress spheres? I think this was a creative way to mix things up abit, stop using the same battle system over and over again. True any real FF gamer looks for the continueing battle/game/items still all the same names similarities, but since this is a sequel, first time ever, I don't mind. I love the dress-sphere idea to! I think it's great that you have to level up what I consider character profiles instead of weapons. Yes, there is alot more minor stuff to do, aka side quests that have to be complete, many dress spheres having to be leveled up to complete the game, watching all those com spheres!-But this just makes the game play longer and more interesting. The music is fabu! The dialoge's not great, but 1000 Words really touched me. The whole seen between Shu Yin, Len, and Yuna made be cry-not only because of the touching story, but because the graphics were just to good! There seems to be more sadness incorperated in this FF game as well. I always loved the bitter-sweet moments that come with the story in all the FF games, but this story is almost to much for me! I **almost** prefer Final Fantasy 8 or Final Fantasy 9's happier endings to this one's.(ofcourse things are a bit different during 100% completion story mode) But things do seem to come around full circle and I like that. Even if the music is not as memorable as it's predicesor's, or the story not as good-I still enjoyed it, without regret or shame. Whether male or female, gamer or not, this is one to play over and over. Well, maybe not as much as FF7, but definatly up there.

| Holy SHIT This is The BEST FF | | TYDUS from Toronto, Ontario, Canada says (5/Nov/2003): | Well It's Not The Very Best But Thats Cuz There ALL Tha Best. I Loved This And I'd Buy All The Versions 50 Times EACH! I WOULD Definatley Buy This Even If Your Not Looking For Another FF W/ Another Story. I Am Going To Buy The International Version so i can capture monsters and then lvl em up i can also get another dress sphers
| Greetings Gamers | | Jasonh Hignite from Trotwood Ohio says (8/Jan/2004): | Ok here is my take on Final Fantasy X-2. Graphics 9, (one off becuse of dubbing) interactive 10, music 11(thats how good it is out of one and ten its eleven) story 7 (because its always diffrent). I really loved the music. Also this game actualy touched me just a bit especialy when 1000 words was played. I love how you can do job classes. I'm and old final fantasy player so i'm used to the whole job class thing. But yeah that did suck when the stroy line came into play. I've been liveing off the faq off the internet. Well this is my opinon.Wanna talk more about e-mail me. ~peace~
| What the hell u on about?! | | Katie from Leeds England says (7/Mar/2004): | I realy like this game! I may be on my own but I dont care. I think that it beats 10 with a big bloody stick! coz 10 was cr*p! fair enough its not better than 7 and i hope the new 7 comes out allrite, (is that a film or a game?) but im sick of hearing people slag off ffX2! IF YOU DONT LIKE IT EXCHANGE IT FOR SOMETHING ELSE and get on with your life man! stop complaining and go play on soul callibour to work out some of that testosterone. If you think its so easy why dont you go though university, learn to animate and make your own bloody RPGs! and stop posting the same messeges as every one else. Just enjoy the game for what it is or sell it! personaly i found the battle system a little strange at first but then i realy got into it! its like hard core fun coz its quite fast, and im loving the dress spheres and the three character system coz it makes training up much faster. I also like the characters because there realy cheesy stereo types! but that leblanc girl is iritating! apart from the masarge thingy which i found quite funny.
I realy like the graphics coz they are just that bit better than 10 but that bit makes all the difference, the opening sequence although cheesy is very nicly done! there isnt that much CG in this game but i think theres more than there is in 10.
also theres more options in this game about who your friends are and some times if your nicer to a sertain group it can effect battles in the future which is a nice feature. 1 thing i do disslike about this game is the lack of a good baddy!!!! 10 had the same problem a big thing that dosent do any thing does not serface my desire to kick it ass! the guy in 9 was a good baddy! 7 had the best baddy! Setheroph man! what more do you want!? A good baddy needs to take a sick sort of plesure in desroying familes and the main characters home town and stuff like that, I like the firs baddy in 8 aswell and the ultimecia thing controling all the others was a nice idea but the motives for her wanting to compress time were a little far fetched for me. any way i think if you liked 10 you might not like this 1 coz it does feel a little like treading old ground, but if your open minded from the start i think it is well worth the 40 quid!
| Hot Half Naked chicks or Story line? | | Gordon Till from San Angelo, Tx, USA says (8/Mar/2004): | Dislikes, Thin story line. Review of FF-X without the power. If it werent for the half naked chicks going to their undergarments during the clothing change, the "sphere" change, the introduction of more skills would be tedious. Not that it isn't anyway, but then monster hunting has always been the only way FF games have let their players gain new skills. Prety much a constant with RPGs.
The thin story line and "Charlie's Angels" clone make this installment of final Fantasy even more cheezy than the first one. The girly girly backstory and lack of character selection reduces the appeal for the more sever gamers who prefer the multipath story lines that Squaresoft(aka Square Enix) made famous, even with the final destination being the same with each path selection. A wise Sage once said the road of a thousand steps starts with the first step, but the journey may teach more than the destination.
Likes: Final Fantasy Meets 13+(16+ us)audience. This is the first installment that actually alows the optional abort of repetitive and some of the longer story sequences. This alone is a vast improvement and a bonus for the longterm players, including those who played 3 before it hit the us. (FF3 us is FF6 Japan)
Worthy of the 40 quid?(60$ us?) This is a SOW unless you already shelled out. (Skippet or Wait for the discount chains to get it.)
| Rock on baby! | | A gamer from Ontario, Canada says (16/Mar/2004): | Oh yeah talk about being one of the best ff games (I find) I mean, I never played FF7 before and I know how everyone's saying it's the best game of all time, and how you should really play it and so on. But I find FF9, FF10, and FF10-2 to being the best. They were just so well put together with the whole story and such, and to actually have a sequal is really awesome! I never really thought that would be true, because we all know final fantasy is a series that you don't need to play the others to understand what's going on, and I'm pretty sure people are getting that idea for FF10-2 with FF10, and yeah you can play this game without the use of FF10, but it would be nice to know a little back story...but that's entirely up to you! Now this game, it is the king! I mean, the dresspheres and all that...totally awesome! I loved having the ability to change into all these different things, learning all these cool abilities, and to get them was fun too (loved the sphere break game!) I'm glad they took out Blitzball, I hated that game with a passion only because I found it quite confusing (like most ff mini games...) but not sphere break! But I must tell you one thing, through experience, I recommend you do not rush through going to place to place without exploring because well, not only will your hp be small, you won't have that much percentage for 100% and I know you want to see that ending (it took me three times of playing this game to achieve it...but hey, it was well worth it!) The game, like FF9 has a great replay value! So don't be upset when you don't get all the percentage in this game...you can play it again! And the game actually will have that happen! I mean after all the ending stuff something will pop up saying about this New Game Plus which is another plus for this game! I always wanted to have a game where you can start brand new and have everything, which you do! The new game plus does that and it's great, I mean, you get to keep all the stuff you ever earned in the first time through, dresspheres, skills, items, accessories...EVERYTHING!!! The only thing sucks is you're back at level 1 and you need to get the 10 stupid crimson spheres again...but hey, it'll make those extreme bosses even easier because not only will you have your catnip from the first time through you'll have it AGAIN in the next time through! So the bosses will go down even quicker with two gunners!! Pretty sweet, don't you think? So don't feel bad that you don't have 100% in one game, okay? Believe me, beat it now and do the new game plus thing more so than re-starting the game from complete scratch, because it even saves your previous percentage!!! (which is a major plus, you won't need to have to do absolutely everything again...thank god) So don't feel sad...a second chance is just around the corner!
| People that think FFX-2 is gay and all because of the girls are gay them selves!!!!!!!! | | Erik M. (A.K.A Cloudxi8) from Houston, TX Were the real playas at!!!!!!!! says (30/Mar/2004): | What is the matter With you guys, this game was made for both males and females but guys are suppose to like it even more for that.People that say that it is girly and all are homosexuals cause they aint like girls.Well i cant change them but the people that do like it and especially since the characters are girls are ok with me since they aint gay and they actually know FF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I dont like gay people and if you dont have good things to say about FFX-2 then stay away from here. This is only for people that really know FF.Those that say that FFX-2 is weak probably dont even know the full story of the game.Email me if you know the full story and dont like the game to see if i was correct or wrong!!!!!!!!!!My email adress is Cloudxi8< remove me > at aol.com or mjorgemacias< remove me > at aol.com
| >.< Maybe play it through first? | | Jenn from Home o.0 says (7/Jun/2004): | I'm tired of reading reviews from people who A: See it as a charlies angels rip off. Yeah it sort of looks like it, but hey three girls doesn't always equate to that. You don't say power puff girls or moreover, totally spies (not a fan of that one >.>) are cop-offs so why this? And those guys who say it's girly have NO IDEA what girly means. How many girls will go out and kill monsters left and right no problem? Pheh, rather not break a nail.
Admittedly the change in Yuna was a dissapointment, but for those of us who love challenge this game rocks. I've played it through three times. Whoever plays it through only once is of course going to hate it. A lot of things become clearer as you go along/through the second time.
The plot was weaker than I'd hoped but the side stories made it interesting enough to be okay. That level of outside interaction is not something I've seen before. I love the battle system, dresssphere or no. Man, don't let the name fool you. It's not just a clothes change (*what I thought at first*) but an abilities change. It'd be like changing a set of materia in seven. You wouldn't call THAT stupid would you? o.0
Endnote: If you're going to insult this game, at least use proper grammer and some smidgeon of intellect. It's cool if you don't like it, but 'cuz it wuzn't cul' won't get you anywhere. It just makes you look stupid AND (as a result) more likely to be wrong.
| Great Game | | A gamer from Oregon, USA says (14/Jan/2004): | I think this is a great game, i liked the missions, but hate the 100% thingy. But it does lure you to play the game to get the perfect ending (if you even want to). X2 and 10 are the best FF games ever. That's my opinion. But as other people have said it could have been better. I liked the Dresspheres too. id say a 9 for everything. Music, Interactivity, blah, blah, blah, etc. etc. etc. I bought this game because i wanted to know what happened to Tidus, if he's still alive and crap like that.
| Good Game | | Shepdawg32989 from Connecticut says (30/Nov/2003): | This game is no FFX but it still has some great asspects of its own. I didnt really like the whole dancein thing and the dress sphere "songstress" was pretty stupid. However the story line got much better as the story progressed. I havent beatin it yet im at the 5th chapter. Although ome of u r gonna dissagree my fav character is pain. Her sarcastic sence of humor was so funny. Rikku and Yuna were a little to happy go lucky for me. So far my favorite part was when Yuna performs at the thunder Plains (very cool)! Overall I give FFX-2 an 8.
| this game is better than most other final fantasy's like 8 and 9 | | Robbie from shasta lake, california, USA says (21/Dec/2003): | this is game i felt was really really good if you don't mind being in a charlie's angel state at least the graphics are great besides a few times when yuna's and lenne's fingers are blocks but anyways this whole game has a way of connecting every little piece to another and if you take your time to watch and listen you will understand but there is one thing i did not get about this game how come during the whole game they never said Tidus' name they always called him "HIM" it kinda gets annoying but in the long run its a great game and if you liked ff10 you will luv ff10-2
| Good Game....If your up to it | | Fenix Dodds from Mount Vernon, WA, USA says (30/Dec/2003): | I would have to say X-2 can be very easy if your just going straight through but if you go for the gold it can be quiet a challenge. Apart from the annoying sidequests (PR, chocobo ranch, cactuar, etc) there is in fact one of the hardest secret bosses in the game. He is Trema underneath Bevelle (with over 999,999 HP!!!!). I've beaten every secret boss from FFVII on up and he still is a challenge. There are only two items to destroy him and I don't have a clue where they are but I'll keep going. I put alot of effort in buying FFX-2 (and all other FF) and by gum Im going to get my moneys worth (all 3 endings). What about you?
| FFX 0wns All <:Spoilers:> | | ULTIMA SHUYIN from Houston, USA says (8/Dec/2003): | man ffx is friggin hard, who ever said it was easy is wrong. the bevelle 101 cloistors is harder than anything. if you ever got to the bottom level, you fight trema. hes harder than anything!!! 999999 hp 255 everything even LUCK!!! god the first chapters are easy but whats hard is getting 100% completion. although i like ffx's battle system (i suck at ATB i have slow reflexes)... the game is overall pretty good. yea sorta girly but its still cool... the garment grids thing is sorta gay but the lvl up and abilities thing is pretty cool. Im still gettin through the plot so... Shuyin is pretty cool and the graphics are awesome (shuyin is tidus' evil 1000 year old counterpart for those who don't know or those who don't give a damn. O yea! the dress system is awesome, my favorite is mascot, post ur favorite!!! o yea and that dude who said "o chapter 2 and 3 and blah blah blah are so easy" wait till u get where im at... sphere break and blitzball are like so hard and Vegnagun can cast like Ultima 3 times in a row. i don't like the mission thing and the commsphere. Lenne is pretty cool (lenne is yuna's longer haired 1000 year old diva for those who don't know) and yunas concert in the thunder plains is awesome. Lian and Ayde are cool and so is Kimarhi. OMG blac elemental is so hard, my dude has like 200 strength and i still can't beat him. i do like only 1000 damage. and hes like killin every1 with ultima. for those who think its easy, try fighting ANGRA MANYU and TAWRICH and ZARICH. its hard! The game is pretty short so for those who are poor, don't buy IT!!! sound is pretty good, normal music suks but Yuna's music and battle music are awesome.
i don't like the fact that there is almost no fmv's!!! except for the first one, and like various others, only like 2 per chapter. (5 chapters). 4th one is gay but the 5th one is so good!!! Vegnagun is awesome and so am I but who gives a < remove me > at #$% about that.
Peace Out Ya'll
ULTIMA SHUYIN
| very good but it still has sum issues. | | serok 37 from usa says (24/Jan/2004): | this is a very good game. i like how the battle system is completely active. i also like the chain atacks. the only prob is da way you can win almost any battle by jus pressin the X buton. i also love the new mini game "sphere break". it is awsome and im very addicted 2 it:) but im so p***ed how the screwed up blitz ball!!! in 10-2 i loved it but now it sucks. you cant control ur players and ull find ur shooter setting up a non-shooter for a shot they dont have the ability 2 perform! moving on... im glad they totaly removed the linear proggresssion of the game. if ur havin trouble getting 100% jus dont go on any hot spots untill uve gone 2 all the other places. as i was mentioning erlier you can win almost any battle by holdin the X button. to do this set the curser to memory. then set an alchemist 2 use "stash mega potion" and jus set the others to atack. also equip status resistant acceceries. this way not only is battling easier but ur party will fight much more efficiantly. one last peice of advice is 2 steal from all over soul monsters. its the best way 2 get good acceciries. i hope you enjoy the game and that this was helpfull.
| an okay game--it was entaining but did have some drawbacks | | ditto g from Nashville, TN, USA says (6/Feb/2004): | The sequel to FFX was a slightly above average RPG that could blow you away with its amazing design but suck you right back into the dark abyss of Flower Power and sugary girl bonding (i.e. not a compliment). but it was still good--certainly was entaining enough. however there were a few questionable attributes (liblanc's massage...?). The game was undoubtedly aimed toward the female audience, which i didn't mind _too_ much, but sometimes the good ol' folks as Square Enix took the Charlie's Angels' 'girl power' theme a bit too far, such as the beginning sequence. To anyone who was looking for a good adventure and were greeted with a Britney Spears promo, it was a definite turn off. However, graphics HAVE improved since its predecessor as well as the battle system, which i almost croaked over. Kudos to S.E. on that at least. I enjoy the original characters that pop up and especially Paine's lil dark and broody past--the name's enough to attract a healthy fan factor. I _especially_ liked how the game adapted to the player's skill level. However, in all honesty, they _could_ have made FFX-2 a _tad_ bit more challenging, but other than that, X-2 is a _very_ good game and worth its price.
| Pros and Cons | | wytchmagick from North Carolina, USA says (9/Mar/2004): | I think FFX-2 is a decent game in total. It doesn't 'suck', but it is also a far reach from say... FF7. (by the way, FF7-2 Advent Children is NOT A GAME... it's a movie.) FFX-2 has great graphics, decent music (1000 words is a WONDERFUL song) and decent battle systems. It can be frustrating with the active battle system when trying to find items or scroll through spells and monsters are pummeling the snot out of you though. The Dressphere/garment grid concept was a great idea, giving more variety to the game, although they could have easily achieved that with more playable characters. I also do not like the 'must get 100% completion, plus do this and that secret stuff to get the perfect ending'... just give it to us already, we busted our butts on this game (and our wallets), I think we deserve the best. (especially since most FFX-2 players are die-hard FF fans and have been playing FF for a looooong time)
Overall, this whole game has a "Charlie's Angels" feel to it, with the characters, interaction, missions, "episode" complete (like a tv show or something) and even the scantilly clad outfits for the 3...I repeat... 3 (like the angels) main characters. Of course, I developed this opinion in the very beginning with the "Y.R.P" thing, and since, the game has only added to that opinion. Oh yeah... the other thing that REALLY REALLY peeved me... YOU CANNOT SUMMON AEONS (or whatever they decide to call them in any given FF game) Noooooo, you get to FIGHT them, but no summoning..... *gives very angry face*
But all in all, I think it's a game more geared towards pre-pubescent boys or guys who like to play games with scantilly clad women. Granted, the whole 'girls kicking butt' might appeal to females, it's not going to be the major seller of the game. Most women want to see Tidus again after the really crummy ending off FFX. (who writes these storylines anyway, and how often have they tried to commit suicide?) If you are a die-hard FF fan, get the game, it's worth it... but if you are looking for a sequel befitting FFX, don't.. wait till you can pick it up used at a pawn shop or something. And for those playing it.. If you start to get frustrated and ticked off (i know I did).. stop playing for a few days (or longer) and then pick it up. The game will seem a lot less redundant.
| Good graphics and cool characters | | anominious from California, USA says (24/Nov/2003): | i like the classic ff method like in ff7, but the whole attack screen in ffx really helped. i think that with the new fighting methods a little too much of a change. I love the characters but i really would like it more if lulu stayed single. it should also have a real total world map like used in ff7, i didnt really like the one in ffx much, because the characters couldnt move freely it definatly has some of the best movies ive ever seen in a game before
| Awesome Game | | The Destroyer of Worlds from Douglasville GA. says (19/Jan/2004): | This game is great. Sure it's a little girly, but, once you get around that, it's superbly done. I'm also glad that Spuaresoft decided not to leave us hanging on what happened to Tidus. It drove me insane to waste 40+ hours of my life just to have my main guy disappear. So, if for no other reason, the game is awesome because it gives closure to the awesome FFX. There's a very large amount of minigames and different ways to play the game. It's also not too easy if you don't just play straight through. Go balls to the wall and get one hundred percent completion, and then you won't think it's that easy. The graphics are immaculate, the audio is exceptionally well done. Absolutely worth my 59.99.
