Well.....Its.....definitly different |
| SolidSnake from Eddyville KY USA says (6/Feb/2004): |
Personnally I liked the game. It wasn't great but it told about FF-X. I think they should have went in the other direction and did one about Tidus,Jecht, and Auron trying to get out of the Farplane to stop Vegnagun. Graphics were incredible, I hated the D**n job class. If they had done it more like tactics I wouldn't have a prob with it. Also I think this game was made for perverts. I have yet to get all endings but I think they screwed this one up. I think its a Charlie's Angels rippoff. Brother is Charlie and YRP is his angels. Also there were too many sidequests and not enough story. Another thing was you'd think they would mention Jecht, Auron, or Tidus or that Yuna would at least have flashbacks about them. Buy it if you are feeling bold and want to end FFX.

Overall a great game, but a little too easy |
| Matt from ohio, usa says (3/Feb/2004): |
As a huge fan of FFX, I may be a bit biased to this game. Overall I was into the storyline. The graphics are awesome, and so is the music. I love the battle system, although overall most battles can be won by just doing a standard physical attack. I only died once during the entire game, and that was in the desert when I fought Angra Mainyu, who was very unexpectedly hard (333444 HP)! The only down side to the game I felt was that there are too many mini-games. They should have used some of the disk room for more movies, since the quantity of them was low. Some of the mini-games were just boring, such as sky slots. I liked the secret dungeons, especially the catuar hollow. If you played FFX and liked it at all, then this game is worth your 50 bucks.

is it me or is sqaure getin peerverted lol. |
| josh from missori, usa. says (1/Feb/2004): |
First you start out and some women named leblanc is disquesed as yuna. (I have no idea how that f***in out fit she weres stays on!) The yuna goes all tomb raider and stuff. the story keeps on doin weird stuff like this. I think the battle systim is one of the best theyve done but you can't costomize your characters as much. i like how they included chain atacks thogh and all the different abilities is cool. The game is pretty lay back and they basicly messed around when making it. almost all the bosses are too easy. the only boss besides the ones in the via purifico that i actualy didnt beat in less than ten rounds was angra manua or sumtin like that. the music i still like but i think other ff games did a better job. the graphics are awsome even thogh they re-used the game engen. i think they tweaked with it to improve it. without the side quests it is the shortest game they've ever made but they put so many fun mini games it made up for it. all in all it was a fun game. plus if you do think its too easy they made the via purifico. they totaly screwed up blitze ball but the mini game sphere break is fun. oops i think my reveiw is already too long so i'll wrap it up. this game is worth ur money in my opinion but for otheres it probaly sucks. if u like girls in skimpy out fits thogh you;ve got an extra plus! lol! bye.

A perfect and challenging game (can't believe some of you....) |
| Shadow Mog from Maine, USA says (1/Feb/2004): |
This is the peerfect game for anyone. So many side quests and the mission setup is splendid. Definatley the most challenging of the ff series. Trema (999999hp, 255str, def, mag def, etc...) proves to be the most challenging foe to graze the worlds of fantasy. For those of you who say its easy, I think you're denying the fact that it is extremely difficult. The garment grids rock, give you special bonuses, along with the accessories and friggin awesome dresspheres. The exp system is back, which is the greatest thing ever! Extremely humorous game with a lot of life from the characters. Yuna and Rikku have changed for the better, I might add. They aren't the boring crap faces from X but they are actually living beings now! Whoever plays tyhis game is in for a great surprise. worth the price and maybe even an extra $10! YOu'll love it if you're right in the head...

Battle System |
| Xipheria from McG, IA, US. says (24/Jan/2004): |
Most people complain that the battle system was, 'copied' from Kingdom hearts. If you paid attention to any other final fantasy games, FF7 had the same system, proving that it was not based from kingdom hearts, but rather previous final fantasy games. And I doubt that the accessorie system is based off of real women. o_O Certain accessories are for certain things, like in the previous games. very good but it still has sum issues. |
| serok 37 from usa says (24/Jan/2004): |
this is a very good game. i like how the battle system is completely active. i also like the chain atacks. the only prob is da way you can win almost any battle by jus pressin the X buton. i also love the new mini game "sphere break". it is awsome and im very addicted 2 it:) but im so p***ed how the screwed up blitz ball!!! in 10-2 i loved it but now it sucks. you cant control ur players and ull find ur shooter setting up a non-shooter for a shot they dont have the ability 2 perform! moving on... im glad they totaly removed the linear proggresssion of the game. if ur havin trouble getting 100% jus dont go on any hot spots untill uve gone 2 all the other places. as i was mentioning erlier you can win almost any battle by holdin the X button. to do this set the curser to memory. then set an alchemist 2 use "stash mega potion" and jus set the others to atack. also equip status resistant acceceries. this way not only is battling easier but ur party will fight much more efficiantly. one last peice of advice is 2 steal from all over soul monsters. its the best way 2 get good acceciries. i hope you enjoy the game and that this was helpfull.

Tony Bradshaw u fool |
| JACKY YAU from GAYFARM says (24/Jan/2004): |
iam replying to Tony Bradshaw's review u said the 3 main charaters are still yuna , rikku and LULU ???
LULU u idiot its pain FOOL dam ur dum FOOOL
okay to the game i give it a 10 because its final fantacy but thing they could improve on is all the charaters are different including yuna, ( U ask me what about the story line then)
well they could easyly made that yuna has a sister and she is going on a adventere to wana become like yuna a summoner/fighter.
the music is good i like but the graphic could be better for instence compare the difference between 7 and 8 wat about 9 and 10
u get wat i mean this laterest ffs graphics is not wat i imagined i hope that final fantacy 12 will be breath taking
your love Jacky Yau :P
i have not played the game yet hehe

Aight for 3 b**ches |
| Makaveli from Laurel, MD, USA says (24/Jan/2004): |
This game wasn't confusin, it was jus stupid. it wasnt fun, it was jus a long a** game with 3 b**ches runnin around Spira. lookin for the Fagget Tidus. they need somebody like Cloud from Final Fantasy 7 or Auron to be the Main Character. Not Tidus. that name sounds gay, Square Soft i think yal have gotten soft by joinin with Square Enix, the music on here aint quite wha i expected. i want some of the old stuff not no rockin roll $#< remove me > at !.
I expect more from yal next time, and make it three Niggaz next time, not 3 B**ches runnin around a small a** world. imma give it a 7 cause i felt like it.
O and one more thing, make sure that the Ultima Weapon is on the new version of Final Fantasy 7 Advent Children. aight? Ghost!

Only the best will do |
| Nekokaburi from Oceanside, Ca. USA says (22/Jan/2004): |
After having played every Final Fantasy game ever produced, Final Fantasy X-2 is one of the best around. If you slow down and examine the game closely you should find that they incorporated every best aspect of the ten predecesors and the improved upon them. As to remarks about square-unix stealing the leveling up design from Kingdom Hearts, I would remind you that Leveling up has been around for years, and even Final Fantasy I had this ability. It has just returned to the game. A helpful hint for you guys trying to level up all your dress spheres is to use a white mage in lesser battles. Her abilities give ap points to the team and happen quickly. Your team should have at least 3 dress sheres a piece maxed out by the start of level two without any unnecessary walking around to level up. Also try to steal a Charm Bangle from Barali. This will allow you to explore without any random encounters.

Awesome Game |
| The Destroyer of Worlds from Douglasville GA. says (19/Jan/2004): |
This game is great. Sure it's a little girly, but, once you get around that, it's superbly done. I'm also glad that Spuaresoft decided not to leave us hanging on what happened to Tidus. It drove me insane to waste 40+ hours of my life just to have my main guy disappear. So, if for no other reason, the game is awesome because it gives closure to the awesome FFX. There's a very large amount of minigames and different ways to play the game. It's also not too easy if you don't just play straight through. Go balls to the wall and get one hundred percent completion, and then you won't think it's that easy. The graphics are immaculate, the audio is exceptionally well done. Absolutely worth my 59.99.

THE WORST |
| Jason from Syracuse says (19/Jan/2004): |
This Was the worst game I have ever played not only was it too easy but i dont like to be force fed girl power I mean come on, when I first played i got an 89% then to get 100% was not much more Difficult. Square needs to go back to the drawing board I dont even want to play with three whores put a 4th character in there at least or give me a choice of who I want. aThe Sphere dresses were cool and I liked the summons, so they get a 10 on those but I was not satisfied with the ending. I cant wait to see the next FF I hope it gives more choices in the way of character selection in the next one. although I did like the music. all the FF games after 7 except 10 have sucked hairy BAL*s. I cant wait for square to get back to making cool games.

| Josh j from wafb missouri usa says (18/Jan/2004): |
For those of you whove played any ff instalments, you will agree that it is pretty freakin awesome, but this one tops it off, althought the 11th instalment is out i prefer whoopin some major butt with three hot chicks. although i am not completely finished i think its the best, is it just me or does paine level up faster than the rest of em. i dont care, hey if you have any suggestions or cheats please email me soon.. or if you have any advice on which items and dresspheres work better. PEACE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! , I am only 63% complete so i have a while till i finish, so please give me some ifo soon .

the best rpg game! |
| kenji x-2 from singapore says (17/Jan/2004): |
when i started the game,i thought that it was like the previous game, ffx situation, but it was not like that.now it is more better as i can travel any around spira as a sphere hunter.when u collect a sphere, not just you watch it and also get a "dressgrid" for battle.the "dressgrid is very useful in battle! 4 those are ffx fans, why do u buy the game and continue the story about as yuna!let me tell u,tidus is still alive and try to 100% complete to see the perfect ending!good luck in your game and have fun!

Completely hooked on Rikku |
| Super Gaijin from Charlottetown, PEI, Canada says (15/Jan/2004): |
This game is incredibly addictive. It's a million times better than FFX since it went back to the old system of simply levelling up. There's no more stupid sphere grid to add 200 HP to your total or give you one more speed point. There's no chance of being stuck on one spot and not levelling up because you don't have a specific sphere. The concept of the dresspheres is ingenious, anyone can be any class at any time basically, so long as that class is applied to the garment grid that that character has equipped.
The game can last anywhere from 10 hours to over 100, depending on if you're going straight in for plot or to get everything and complete all sidequests. If you can't figure out how to get higher than 60% by the end of the game, then you shouldn't be playing with anything more than a rubber ball. It's not a completely linear game, so therefore don't treat it like one. Walk around for hours at a time, search every nook and cranny of every extra area before continuing the plot. There's no rush to finish the game, besides it's much harder to finish Vegnagun if you went for nothing but plot, you wouldn't have the correct dresspheres or abilities gained for the dresspheres to beat it with any ease.
And yes, there are accessories that do more than one thing. Minerva's Plate, Wring, Bloodlust, Bushido Lore, etc. all do many things at once. Even just common accessories can have up to three effects at once on your character. Minerva's Plate and Wring is an excellent combination to use for a black mage or a white mage (if you've already learned the black magic spells). You'll have a magic attack of 255 (max) but very little health, you'll be poisoned automatically at the start of each battle, but you'll be able to cast incredibly powerful magic in the blink of an eye with the Turbo Black Magic effect supplied by Minerva's Plate, but only do this if you don't care about levelling up anymore since you'll constantly suffer from pointless.
Another great aspect is the Active Time Battle system. You can set it to wait if you so wish, but I always leave it on ATB so I can properly combo my attacks together. I'm easily getting 18-hit combos that can easily kill some bosses in two turns.
It's a great game, I love the graphics and storyline, I love the characters and sidequests, the minigames, everything. I'd recommend this to anyone who likes to have fun with their RPG's.

Final Fantasy x2 true review |
| Jay from newark,de u.s says (14/Jan/2004): |
I have beaten ffx2 and i love it. the game is not only visually stunning but it encorporates elements from pass ff's. The game starts out kinda east through out chapters 1-3 but really gets harder during chapter 5. Also with the new game plus system it makes it that much more interesting. After totally beating the game and after the credit roll the game will ask you to save your game as new game plus which allows you to starrt a new game with all dresssphere, items, gil, asessories, garment grids, and abilities you collected in the previous game. Which makes it easier than having to find them all over again. ffx2 is truly a game worth the wait.

Great Game |
| A gamer from Oregon, USA says (14/Jan/2004): |
I think this is a great game, i liked the missions, but hate the 100% thingy. But it does lure you to play the game to get the perfect ending (if you even want to). X2 and 10 are the best FF games ever. That's my opinion. But as other people have said it could have been better. I liked the Dresspheres too. id say a 9 for everything. Music, Interactivity, blah, blah, blah, etc. etc. etc. I bought this game because i wanted to know what happened to Tidus, if he's still alive and crap like that.
|
well shit the next one should be better!!!!!! |
| jake from Newport beach, Ca USA says (11/Jan/2004): |
NOw i have never played this game but just hearing the reviews does not convince me to buy it. final fantasy XI should be way better it always gets better but apperantly this one isnt that good so i guess im just gonna take a break save my money and have my friend beat it and tell me how it is. i love the sphere grid i got so into that in ffX that i set all the spheres in color so i would have one complete sphere of armor and another couple spheres of magic. I collected all the mansters and beat them all in the zoo well i would have to say that ffX has been the best ever. im not gonna play X-2 because i dont wanna be disappointed.

A lot of hype and a little half-a** delivery |
| Cat from Albany, USA says (11/Jan/2004): |
My first impression was where is the sphere grid b-4 finding out that the creaters had copied Kingdom Hearts (Great Game)'s leveling up sys. After that, I found myself in the 5th, and apparently, final chapter with only 50% completion. I didn't know that I was gonna have to be burned for a guide as well just to enjoy an ending based on so-called-"side"-quests.
On a higher note there is no dispute that this games predicessors had built up a high expectation and maybe i could only be let down. Also as a girl, we often wear more than two accessories which was constanly pissing me off in the game because no items would do more than one thing. Still, great graphics and loved 1000 words. Oh well, better luck next time, huh?
